A Case Study of Introduction to Engineering Design Course using Boe-Bot for Improving Course Outcomes (학습성과 향상을 위한 보봇 이용 공학설계입문 운영사례)

  • In this paper, the author researched to enhance course outcomes while increasing the interest in engineering design through the 'Introduction to Engineering Design Course'. Deviating from the current practice of engaging in content-oriented lectures, the redesign of the weekly lecture has been conducted with a focus on learning achievement in order to enhance design competency, teamwork and communication skills, which are the goals of the PO3, PO6 and PO7, respectively. Moreover, assessment tools have been developed according to learning achievement, and rubrics, the measurement criteria, have been defined according to the respective assessment tools, along with course goals for learning achievement and results analysis. To enhance course learning achievement, as well as to induce interest in and satisfaction with the 'Introduction to Engineering Design Course', a design project utilizing a Boe-Bot robot has been carried out. An evaluation on learning achievement and lecture has identified an increase in learning achievement and interest in design in comparison with that of previous lectures.

  • Recently, the government has been interested in the creative economy in order to create new added value through industries and cultures, jobs, and growth engines for talented people who have creative ideas. The government emphasized technology commercialization as a core task for the realization of the creative economy in the '5th Technology Transfer and Commercialization Promotion Plan' based on the 'Technology Transfer and Commercialization Promotion Act' in order to ensure that the technologies developed through R&D projects lead to new industries and job creation. It is necessary to study what kind of variables are influenced by specific variables in the utilization and process of the developed technology to lead the results as the proportion of national R&D budget is increasing and it is linked to the achievement of R&D purpose. Therefore, an empirical study was conducted to measure factors affecting performance for practitioners who evaluate the performance of SME technology development projects. As a result, Readiness, Technological Performance and Competency Assessment effect Performance Assessment positively.

A Study on Relationship between Performance of University-Industry Cooperations and Competency Factors of University-Industry Cooperations by Characteristic of Universities (대학의 특성에 따른 산학협력역량과 산학협력성과의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the effect of the competency factors (resources and education competency)on the performance of university-industry cooperation by characteristic of universities through multiple regression model using 202 datasets empirically. The input factors variables used in a research model were characteristics of universities (research oriented/education-oriented universities and public/private universities) and competency factors (resource competency and education competency) of university-industry cooperation. The performance factors of university-industry cooperation were composed of the outcomes of intellectual knowledge asset, technology transfer, spin-off and financial profits. The empirical results show that research-oriented universities and public universities produce a uniter performance of university-industry cooperation than education-oriented universities and private universities, respectively and the competency factors of university-industry cooperation such as resource and education competency also have a positive effect on the performance of university-industry cooperation.

  • In order to achieve efficient and effective organizational information security objectives, for the level of information security to accurately evaluation and direction for improving that performance evaluation index and method of measurement for information security outcomes are needed. For information security activities of domestic companies to measure the performance or effectiveness, that standard method of measuring and the available evaluation Index are insufficient. company is difficult to investment for information security budget. Therefore, the purpose of this study was developing of performance evaluation index and method of measurement for information security outcomes applying BSC available in the company. The results of this study that companies can determine the level of information security itself. Analysis of the information security status and the strategy establishment of the information security investment can be applied.

Analysis on the Apartment Investment Performance (지역별 아파트 투자성과에 관한 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the apartment investment performance including the risk and to verify the presence or absence of regional characteristics. This study made an analysis on the apartment investment performance by dividing it into long and short-term basis. Data collection period is 10 years from 2002 to 2012 and target area includes Gangnam and Gangbuk (southern and northern area of Seoul) and 6 metropolitan cities. For evaluating the investment performance, this study used the earning rate of 5 year 1st class national housing bond as the risk-free rate of return and 1~2 year interest rate of fixed deposit for calculating lease profit. The results of study are as follows, Treynor's Index was used in long investment performance evaluation because of regional characters non-existing in Seoul and Incheon whereas Jensen's Index was used in evaluating because of regional characters existing in 5 metropolitan cities. And Jensen's Index was used in short-term evaluation of all districts as existing regional characters in all districts. Short-term performance considering regional characteristics yielded different results of simple evaluation. Therefore, in case of simple rate of return to evaluate the performance, the recognition of that can be distorted.

  • For the latest 10 years, many companies have introduced the ERP system competitively. There have been many evaluations of the system, but most of them have made general evaluation and few of them studied output creation. The output of the introduction of the ERP system cannot be uniform, and the stages of output creation also vary. Accordingly, the present study purposed to examine when the management output of the ERP system is created in Korean companies that adopted the ERP system in order to predict the management output of such companies and to provide opportunities to change ERP operation methodology. Balanced scorecard was used as an indicator to measure the outcome of ERP. In addition, we conducted correlation analysis for determining the correlation between ERP system activation factors and management output, and performed frequency analysis to examine the stages of management output creation according to the stage of ERP system.

The Effects Long-Term Orientation and CSR Activities on Business Performance in Social Enterprise (장기지향성이 CSR활동과 사회적 기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this study is examine the factors influencing performance of long-term orientation and Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) activities. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to social enterprise, CSR activities and long-term orientation. The proposed model is analyzed to target 115 social entrepreneurs with Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0. The result of hypothesis testing are as follows. First, long-term orientation positively influence community responsibility, environmental responsibility, and product(service) responsibility. Second, community responsibility positively influence financial and non-financial performance. Third, environmental responsibility positively influence non-financial performance, but does not significantly influence financial performance. Finally, product(service) responsibility does not significantly influence financial and non-financial performance. The results of this study will provide various implications to improve performance, long-term orientation, and CSR activities in social enterprise.

The Relationship Between The Type of R&D Investment and a Firm's Performance (연구개발 투자성향과 기업성과의 관계)

  • The relationship between R&D investment and subsequent change has been mostly confirmed under additional influencing factors, with the form of innovation investments. The research assumes that a firm adjusts its R&D spending in accordance to performance feedback. It is argued that an increased fluctuation of a firm's R&D expense is related to a reduced performance. This hypothesis is tested on SME in World class 300 Projet by SMBA. Using panel data models, instability measured by SD is related to performance levels measured by ROA, ROE & PM. Results support the proposed relationship between R&D expense instability and the subsequent performance. Although a causal link cannot be clearly established, the results indicate that firms with a lower performance have higher R&D investment fluctuations, possibly being more responsive to performance feedback.

  • The achievement of the long-term relationship is commonly executed by a salesperson that is eventually very crucial to enhance the customer retention in the insurance industry. It indicates there is an urgency to improve the competence of salesperson and organization support to build and maintain bonds of long-lasting loyalty with the individual customers. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the influence of planner's competency and organizational support on sales performance, and to verify empirically whether MDRT goal orientation mediating role between competency, organizational support and sales performance. The results of this research are as follows: firstly, product and customer competence, digital competence, network competence positively affect sales performance. Secondly, sales support positively affect sales performance. Thirdly, meditating effect of MDRT goal orientation were significant found between the planner's competency and sales performance. Moreover, in the relationship between sales support and sales performance, MDRT goal orientation have a fully mediated effect. This means customer management through excellent competency, organization support to insurance trend change, and competence development through MDRT goal orientation positively affect sales performance.

The Subjective Study of the High School Teachers on the Performance-based Pay System for Teachers (교원성과급제도에 대한 고등학교 교사의 주관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore high school teachers' subjective perception on performance-based pay system(PBPS) for teachers using Q-methodology. This study found three types of high school teachers' subjective perception on the system. Type I is named 'the type of negative perception.' The subjects of type I emphasize the PBPS is not appropriate system for motivating teachers' educational behaviors. Type II is named 'the type of neutral perception.' The subjects of type II emphasize the PBPS is a fair job evaluation, strengthening cooperative atmosphere of educational community but the system is not an usefulness for causing educational behavior etc. Type III is named 'the type of acceptive perception.' The subjects of type III emphasize the PBPS is a good policy to reward for the work most people avoid getting into and improve culture of teaching job etc.
