The digital divide has become an important social issue in the two waves of informatization and aging society. This study is to comprehensively examine various theoretical approaches and discussions on the mechanisms of the digital divide and to synthetically understand the features of the digital divide in old age. This study examines 1) four theoretical approaches on the mechanisms of digital divide among people in general, 2) three theoretical perspectives and six specific explanations on the digital divide in old age, and 3) five controversial features and concepts of the digital divide in old age. Consequently, this study suggests the need for a comprehensive approach to the multi-dimensional digital divide in old age and more attention to the digital divide in old age in terms of individual well-being and social inequalities. Further implications and limitations are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to examine factors influencing the digital divide between the baby boomer and elderly generation. Under this relationship, we investigated the age, education, family type, income, using attitude, using motivation, using outcome, cognition of intelligence information society, anxiety of intelligence information society, life satisfaction, social support. Research data were Using the data of 2017 Digital Divide Survey conducted by the National Information Society Agency(NIA), The final sample were 2300 who fully responded. As a result of factor, age, education, using attitude, using object, cognition of intelligence information society, life satisfaction significantly effected directly in baby boomer. Also, family types, cognition of information intelligence society, life satisfaction in elderly. Based on the results of this study, the implications and future studies of the baby boomer and elderly are suggested.

정보통신의 발달은 사람들의 생활양식을 변화시키고 있지만 정보와 환경의 급속한 발전에도 불구하고 장애인, 노인 등은 정보화 혜택을 제대로 받지 못하여 소외되고 있다. 전 세계에서는 이러한 문제를 직시하고 정보격차를 좁히기 위한 한 방안으로 웹 접근성의 문제를 제기했고 꾸준히 해결점을 찾고 있지만 우리나라의 경우 이에 대한 연구 노력은 부족한 실정에 있다. 본 연구에서는 두 가지의 웹 접근성 평가도구를 선정하여 사이버대학 웹 사이트를 중심으로 웹 접근성을 평가해 보고 그 평가도구를 비교 분석함으로써 개선방안을 제시하였다.

본 논문에서는 이론적, 실무적 선행연구들에 대한 검토를 토대로 통합적인 정보격차 요인모형을 제시하고 정보격차 요인모형에서 도출된 변수들과 기존정책들을 중심으로 표적집단심층면접법(Focus Group Interview, FGI)를 이용하여 정보취약계층인 장애인, 노인층, 저소득층을 대상으로 정보활용기회를 확대하기 위한 방안들을 실증적으로 도출하였으며 또한 기존 정책에 대한 만족도 및 효과성을 측정하였다. FGI 조사결과 취약계층별로 차별화된 정책적 요구사항이 도출되었으며, 통합적으로 정보접근, 정보이용, 정보활용을 지원할 수 있는 통합적 지원체계가 가장 절실한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 취약계층별 개별 대상자의 개별적인 정보화수준 및 요구사항을 반영하기 위하여 개별 인적자원에 대한 통합관리가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 아울러, 정보접근정책 및 정보이용지원정책, 정보활용지원정책별로 포괄적인 만족도 조사를 실시한 결과 공히 만족도 수준이 보통이하인 것으로 나타나 개별 정책에 대한 지원전략의 수정이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

4차 산업혁명과 메타버스와 같이 빠르게 변화하는 정보화 시대에서 디지털 사각지대에 놓인 '디지털 소외 계층'들이 존재하고 있다. 특히 고령자 같은 경우엔 빠르게 변화된 사회 속에서 보장받아야 할 디지털 교육을 받지 못하여 이제는 당연하게 누려야 할 편리함까지 놓치고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제들을 해결하기 위한 효과적인 디지털 교육 방안으로 '놀이'와 '게임' 그리고 '컴퓨터'를 융합시킨 'e스포츠'를 통해 디지털 치료제로서 제안하고자 한다. 이는 단순한 '교육'이 아닌 새로운 실버 콘텐츠로 접근하여 노인들의 또 다른 문화로 개척하며 디지털 소외 문제를 해결하는 것과 동시에 고령자들에게 'e스포츠'의 발전과 인식개선에도 기대해 본다.

This paper starts from one question: what are the key factors of the web accessibility policy, which is significant for realizing equity in the web and enhancing human dignity in the information society. To find significant factors for complying with web accessibility, this paper analyzes panel data of 16 Korean local governments (for five years: 2004-2009) according to the research design which is based on the demand and supply balance model and consists of four variables : 'legal and institutional environment (including legal infrastructure)', 'financial foundation (fiscal self-reliance ratio)', 'policy inputs (amount of imformatization budget, employee of information experts)'and 'policy demand (internet usage rate, the number of disabled people and elderly people)'. From the results of this study, this paper can explain the mechanism and impact factors on the web accessibility policy of Korean local governments. Some factors are critical to improve web accessibility: (1) the importance of policy demand, (2) the importance of policy inputs, (3) the importance of legal and institutional environment. Finally, this paper concludes with some suggestions to enhance the web accessibility capacity for Korean local governments: (1) improve awareness on web accessibility, (2) develop a standard and invest R&D on web accessibility, (3) foster experts in web accessibility.

The purpose of this study is to analyse on the internet use of Korean older adults focused on their socioeconomic characteristics. For this study, data were collected through the face to face interview with aged over 60 using a questionnaire for the residence of Daegu and Kyungsang Buk-Do areas. Subjects were divided into socioeconomic characteristics such as gender, education level, economic level, religion, and life satisfaction. The data were analysed the elderly's internet use such as frequency of internet access, motivation of internet use, utilization of internet, and usefulness of internet based on their socioeconomic characteristics. The results of this empirical study revealed that there exist a significant differences between internet use and socioeconomic characteristics in elderly people. It is hoped that the results of this study provide an essential data for developing the policy of the elderly's digital divide and welfare.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the patterns of internet usage, selfefficacy, and self-esteem of the elderly. Method: Study participants were 139 older than 60 years of age who had used internet and could access internet anytime at home. Data were collected from March to September, 2009 by using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using PASW/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The meantime of internet use was 8.74 hours per week, frequently used web-site was 'Newspaper and magazine', and subjects mainly used internet 'not to fall behind the times'. The mean score of internet use capability was 2.42, among theses the score of 'Searching necessary information' was the highest. The internet use capability of the subjects was significantly different in terms of education level, spouse, economic status, and the length of use. The mean scores of self-efficacy and self-esteem were $28.22{\pm}4.42$ and $28.51{\pm}4.25$, respectively. Conclusions: These results suggest that the elderly people use internet not to fall behind the times but they have enough capability to use internet searching or e-mailing. Also, it is true that there are many influencing factors on internet use and capability of the elderly. Therefore, it is needed to investigate the internet use of the elderly more closely.

Because the web sites are in common today, the access to the web for disabled people and old aging people, what we call accessibility, becomes more important. Even though efforts to reduce the informational gap resulted from the lack of the accessibility have been carried out, the studies in this field in Korea are not still in popular. In this study, previous research on the measurements for the accessibility is reviewed and then a new model measuring accessibility is suggested. To increase the validity of the measurement, both an automated tool and a manual test are employed. First we used the 'A-Prompt', one of the popular automated validation tools and analyzed web sources, and applied manual tests by HPR Screen Reader. With the error rates calculated, the accessibility of the government web sites between Korea and the United States was compared and finally the conclusions were drawn.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship of information literacy, life satisfaction, and life happiness of the silver generation, and to suggest the direction for their happy life. We conducted a questionnaire survey targeted at the Internet users of over 60 years old adults living in Daegu/Gyongbuk areas. Data were analyzed using 238 valid samples. With the results, it revealed that the silver generations' life satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between their information literacy and their life happiness. Future studies are also discussed in this paper.
