A Study on the MMPP Model Verification for the Real-time VBR Traffic of ATM Network (ATM망의 실시간 VBR 트래픽에 대한 MMPP 모델 적합성 검증 연구)

  • This paper is to verify that 2-state MMPP Model conform to ATM VBR traffic characteristics by measuring and analyzing real-time VBR traffic in KT's ATM network. As a result, we validated the fact that real-time VBR traffic of ATM network cannot be apply to MMPP model and must be represented by previously general On-Off Model with characteristics as follows: arrival rate of On state (λ$_1$) is deterministic, arrival rate of Off state (λ$_2$) is zero, and two transition rate (T$_1$,T$_2$) is only random variable. As research results are to handle real traffic, these results can be used to all ATM network traffic model with traffic management function such as KT's ATM network.

  • The aim of this study is to develop travel time estimation model by using Self-Organized Neural network(in brief, SON) algorithm. Travel time data based on vehicles equipped with GPS and number-plate matching collected from National road number 3 (between Jangji-IC and Gonjiam-IC), which is pilot section of National Highway Traffic Management System were employed. We found that the accuracies of travel time are related to location of detector, the length of road section and land-use properties. In this paper, we try to develop travel time estimation using SON to remedy defects of existing neural network method, which could not additional learning and efficient structure modification. Furthermore, we knew that the estimation accuracy of travel time is superior to optimum located detectors than based on existing located detectors. We can expect the results of this study will make use of location allocation of detectors in highway.

  • RFID System has an advantage that it need not touch an objects for identification of many objects. Because it is working through wireless communication. Also, So many objects can be identified with RFID System at once. However, although RFID System has convenience like above, it has serious privacy concern at the same time. If RFID System is working with an target object through wireless communication, other objects will respond to RFID System signal as well as a target object. Hence, RFID System can be easily exposed user privacy by attacker. In this paper, We propose RFID system authentication model in order to protecting user privacy and traking. Proposed RFID system is operating that not only server authenticate RFID reader but also RFID reader and tag authenticate mutually by using symetric cryptography that operating with tiny and simple processing.

  • The implementation possibility of the flexible optical network configuration using the non-midway optical phase conjugator (OPC) in the dispersion-managed (DM) optical link for wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission is demonstrated in this paper. It is confirmed that the implementation possibility of flexible link configuration is more increased, as number of fiber spans is more bigger and the residual dispersion per span (RDPS) is more large. It is also confirmed that the non-midway OPC link, in which RDPS of the latter half transmission section (after OPC) is decided by the averaged RDPS of the former half transmission section (before OPC), has more advantage for the flexible network configuration.

  • 스무딩은 가변 비트율로 저장된 비디오 데이터를 클라이언트로 전송할 때 일련의 고정 비트율로 전송할 수 있도록 전송 계획을 세우는 것이다. 이러한 스무딩 알고리즘들 중에서 e-PCRTT 알고리즘은 전송률 변화 횟수가 주어지고 구간의 크기가 고정이어서 전송률 변화 횟수, 첨두 전송률, 버퍼 이용률 등의 평가 요소들이 증가될 수 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 전송률 변화 횟수의 제한이 없고 구간의 크기가 가변적인 EBA(Enhanced Bandwidth Allocation)[9,10] 스무딩 알고리즘을 제안한 바 있다. 그러나 이 방법에서는 전송률의 증가 또는 감소를 고려하지 않고 전송률을 변화시키기 때문에 이전 구간의 전송률에 비해 급격하게 높은 전송률이 요구될 수 있으며 증가되는 전송률로 보내야 하는 프레임 개수가 많아질 수 있다. 이는 네트워크 자원의 효율적인 사용을 어렵게 할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 EBA 알고리즘을 개선하여 첨두 전송률과 증가되는 전송률로 보내야 되는 프레임 개수를 감소시키는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능은 E.T 90의 비디오 소스를 가지고 EBA 알고리즘과 전송률 변화 횟수, 첨두 전송률, 증가되는 전송률로 보내야 하는 프레임 개수 등을 비교 분석하여 평가하였다.

  • For the wireless mesh networks, efficient routing protocol is required to transmit data from source to destination node through multi-hop transmission. Multipath routing enable the stable data transmission even in the case of traffic congestion or unstable link. In this paper, we propose partial multipath routing which does not make a full multipath but partial for some parts of unstable links. This partial multipath routing reduce the number of nodes for routing and minimized the required power.

  • 기존의 IEC 61850 표준 적용 국내 디지털변전소는 Station 레벨에 한정되어 구축되어 왔다. 향후 구축될 Process 레벨을 포함한 풀(Full) 디지털 변전소 디지털화는 디지털변전소 운전에 있어 중요하고 긴급한 신호인 Process bus를 통한 SV와 GOOSE신호의 전송으로 이루어지고 있다. Process bus를 활용한 배전선로 보호용 통합 IED는 GIS 등 변전소 전력설비로부터 전압과 전류 값을 MU(Merging Unit)를 통해 공급받아 각 구간의 Bay 혹은 Bank단위로 통합적인 보호 기능을 수행하고, 주 IED와 예비 IED가 서로의 상태를 상호 감시하여 보호기능의 이중화를 이루어야 하고, Sampled Value를 처리하기 위한 정밀한 시각동기화 기능을 갖추어야 한다. 만약, Process bus 시스템의 문제로 인해, 지연과 손실이 발생한다면 변전소 보호 제어에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 Process bus를 디지털변전소에 적용하기 위해서는 Process bus 기반의 네트워크시스템에 연결된 MU와 IED가 송수신하는 SV와 GOOSE를 손실과 지연없이 전송할 수 있는지를 분석해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 디지털변전소 네트워크 시뮬레이션 시험을 통해, 배전선로용 통합 IED의 성능검증을 위해 Process bus 네트워크 시스템을 설계하고 시뮬레이션 시험을 수행하여 이를 통해 향후 국내의 Process bus 디지털변전시스템 구축을 위한 효과적인 네트워크 시스템 설계방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Efficient routing algorithm is required to transmit data from source to destination by multi-hop transmission in wireless sensor networks. In the multi-hop transmission, multipath routing can be one of the solutions to cope with the traffic congestion and unstable link condition. In this paper, we propose partial multipath routing which does not establish a secondary full routing path but a partial multipath to complement some poor links, and it can enable stable data transmission and reduce the number of nodes in routing path and the required total power compared with conventional multipath routing.

  • Sensor Nodes are composed of battery which cannot be easily changed. So, it is very important to reduce energy consumption of Sensor Nodes. In this paper, we implemented Sensor Network system using changed S-MAC to save energy with Zigbee. We deceased energy consumption of node by reducing duty cycle in ACTIVE part. According to experiment, using supposed algorithm is better than using S-MAC about $25\sim30%$ in energy consumption.

  • This paper proposes an efficient collision avoidance algorithm that a group of RFID readers manage each of their affiliated active RFID tags in a space by establishing wireless network and avoids communication collision between RFID reader to reader and RFID tag to tag, and reader to tag. RF readers operate as wireless network nodes, create synchronous links each other, and can exchange messages. Active tags also are operated communicating each reader devices synchronously, and competing slot position between tags algorithm using unique tag identification number is implemented. Each reader node operates their own reader function different time slot network communication period to prevent collision between readers communication.
