ButtonKeyboard: A Button-shaped Keyboard Supporting Text entry for Wearable Devices (버튼 키보드: 웨어러블 기기에서 문자입력을 지원하는 단추형 키보드)

  • 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 환경에서 문자입력은 필수적인 태스크이나 적절한 유저 인터페이스를 지원하기란 쉽지 않다. 탁상용 QWERTY 키보드를 소형화하여 상용화한 제품도 있지만 일상에서 사용하기에는 상당히 부담스러운 크기이다. 본 연구는 단추와 유사한 크기로 부담 없이 의복에 부착할 수 있으며 적정 수준으로 문자입력 태스크를 지원할 수 있는 버튼 키보드를 제안한다. 버튼키보드는 기존 전화키패드의 $3{\times}3$ 키 배열을 단일 키 패드로 통합하였다. 이는 내구성 있고 간결한 폼팩터를 가능하게 하며 입력장치의 소형화와 문자입력효율의 향상을 가능하게 한다. 버튼키보드는 일반 키보드용 키에 터치센서와 LED 배열을 합성하여 구현하였다. 따라서 손가락의 위치에 따라 이격, 터치, 누름등의 상태를 구분할 수 있어 멀티탭핑방식에서 발생하는 입력분절문제를 해결하였으며 와이핑 모션에 의한 특수문자와 명령 입력을 가능하게 하였다. 프로토타입을 통해 문자입력수행도 테스트 결과 20세션 학습후 한손입력에 대해 평균 14.7WPM, 두손입력에 대해 평균 14.5WPM의 입력속도를 얻었다. 20세션 평균 에러율은 6%를 기록했으며 최고속도는 두손입력시 17WPM으로 나타났다. 실험결과를 통해 본 연구에서 제안한 버튼키보드가 기기를 극적으로 소형화하였음에도 불구하고 문자입력을 적정수준으로 수행할 수 있는 가능성을 가진 문자입력장치임을 확인할 수 있었다. 차후 프로토타입의 개선을 통하여 기기가 더욱 소형화될 수 있으며 문자입력수행도 또한 향상될 여지가 있다.

  • Shotcrete lining is likely to be deteriorated due to the ground water which the lining is exposed to. Some tunnel collapses seemed to be affected by shotcrete degradation were reported. But there isn't any assessment method of shotcret long-term degradation. So, Experimental technology for shotcrete long-term degradation modeling was developed in this study. The shotcrete long-term degradation modeling, developed in other study in Korea Institute of Construction Technology, require the time-history of volume change. Digital strain observation system was used to acquire the time-history of volume change. To verify the Strain Observation Digital System, the measurement using the system was compared to the one using a micrometer. Through this process, The experiment for shotcrete long-term degradation modeling was set up.

  • For the quality increase of agricultural and aquatic products, it is necessary to the efficient management system of integrated control and accurate data for improving the water quality of reservoirs. This may be using the USN save time and money. In this paper, the water surface robot was designed and manufactured for measuring and announcing the environment informations, and it's network was constructed. The robot had more excellent durability and was more inexpensive than previous model. The network was designed considering connection with ZigBee, TRS, Wi-Fi or LTE network. Also the exploration function of the robot was confirmed by the simulation and the user interface was programmed.

  • AIP(Air Independent Propulsion)시스템에 적용되는 연료전지 스택의 경우 연료의 이용율을 극대화시키는 것이 매우 중요하다. 일반적인 연료전지 스택은 물배출과 성능의 안정화를 위해 이론적 요구량보다 양론적으로 많은 양을 공급하여, 반응에 사용되지 않고 배출되는 연료 가스가 많아 이용율이 낮다. 여러 단으로 구성되어 전 단에서 사용하고 남은 연료 가스를 다음 단에 재공급하여 사용하는 케스케이드 구조의 연료전지 스택을 적용하게 되면 연료이용율을 90% 이상으로 높일 수 있다. 그러나 연료전지 스택에서 반응에 의해 발생한 물과 응축된 가습수가 재공급되면 연료전지 스택의 성능과 내구성에 악영향을 주는 플러딩현상이 발생하게 된다. 반면 반응수와 응축수를 제거할 때 스택에 재공급되는 연료 가스의 가습수가 같이 제거되면 낮은 가습도로 스택에 공급되는 문제점도 있다. 따라서 연료 가스의 가습도를 잘 유지하면서 액화된 물만 원활하게 제거할 수 있는 기액분리기의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics)해석을 활용하여 다양한 디자인의 기액분리기를 설계하고 실험을 통해 각 디자인의 장단점을 분석하였다. 결과를 바탕으로 최적의 기액분리기를 개발하고 제작 및 평가를 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

MWCNT 및 무기 바인더를 사용하여 103Ω/cm2이하의 낮은 표면저항과 접촉각 160° 이상의 초발수성을 갖는 코팅액 개발

  • 무인자동차 및 전기자동차 등 전장부품 및 메인보드에서의 오염 방지와 전자파에 의한 신호 간섭 현상에 따른 기기의 오작동을 방지하고자 MWCNT의 clustering 및 tangling현상을 활용하여 self cleaning 기능을 갖는 super hydrophobic 표면과 high aspect ratio에 의한 percolation 현상을 활용하여 전자파 차폐를 위한 낮은 표면저항을 만족하는 복합 재료로 구성된 코팅에 관하여 연구하였다. 이를 위해 isopropyl alcohol(IPA)을 용매로 산처리 한 MWCNT와 무기바인더, 불소계 실란을 첨가하여 초음파 분산을 함으로써 코팅액을 제조하였다. 이를 full cone nozzle type, 흡상식 스프레이 조건으로 알루미늄 시편위에 스프레이 코팅 후 열경화 하여 접촉각측정기로 측정 결과 $160^{\circ}$이상의 초발수 표면과 Low Resistivity Meter로 표면저항을 측정한 결과 $10^3{\Omega}/cm^2$ 이하의 낮은 코팅막을 구현하였으며 내구성 실험을 위한 항온항습 장비로 $80^{\circ}C$의 내열테스트 및 80%와 $80^{\circ}C$조건하에서의 내습테스트 결과 표면에 이상 없음을 확인하였고 열전도율 측정을 위해 밀도 측정 결과 $2.68g/cm^3$, 비열 측정 결과 $0.85J/g^{\circ}C$가 열확산율 측정결과 $88.64mm^2/s$가 측정 되었으며 밀도, 비열, 열확산율을 곱한 값인 $201.9W/m{\cdot}K$의 열전도를 갖는 코팅막을 구현하였다.

  • Bottom ash among the coal ash is not used because of its poor properties. But encouraging the use of bottom ash as a construction material is a sensible method of utilization as it avoids the problems and costs associated with disposal and provides an alternative aggregate source. This study was aimed at using bottom ash as an alternative fine aggregate source to provide a solution to disposal and insufficient fine aggregate for the production of concrete. So properties of domestic bottom ash were estimated due to the difference of each domestic bottom ash. And compressive strength and durability were estimated as basic data to use bottom ash in building industries. As a result of the experiment, the very porous surface and angular shape of the bottom ash particles necessitate a higher apparent water-cement ratio. And due to the higher water requirement, the compressive strength and durability of mortar is lower than those of the control samples. But when 25 percent of the total dry weight of the natural fine aggregate was replaced by bottom ash, the engineering characteristics were similar.

  • We introduce a novel method that could modify neat asphalt. A polymer-forming monomer, dimethylphenol( DMP) was added to the neat asphalt and polymerization was occurred autonomously, without adding any external catalyst for the polymerization, only with oxygen molecules in the air. The polymer produced in the asphalt was polyphenyleneoxide( PPO) and it enhanced the mechanical properties of the asphalt. Compared with the neat asphalt, the tenacity and toughness of the DMP-modified asphalt were two and half times and three times high, respectively.

An Experimental Study for Manufacturing MPCM Slurry and Its Application to a Cooling System (미립캡슐잠열재 제조 및 축열식 냉방기 적용실험)

  • The present study has been conducted for manufacturing MPCM (microencapsulated phase change material) slurry with in-situ polymerization and proving their applicabilities for tooling system. The surface of MPCM is composed of melamine, while tetradecane, paraffin wax, is centered in the MPCM. The produced capsules are observed by the optical microscope and SEM for superficial shapes. Their thermal properties are measured by DSC. Their size distributions are observed by FA particle analyzer. A narrow size distribution from 1 to 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with 5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of average diameter was observed. Melting temperature was 6.7$^{\circ}C$. The durability of MPCM was tested with various types of pump such as centrifugal, peristaltic, and mono pumps. During 10000 cycles the fraction of broken capsules was smaller than 6% for the centrifugal and peristaltic pumps, while bigger value of 8% for the mono pump. A cooling system, which adopted MPCM slurry as a media for transporting cold thermal energy, was designed to investigate the performance of the MPCM. The discharging times of 10 and 20 wt% MPCM slurry were lasted up to 105 and 285 minutes longer, respectively, than the water cooling system.

  • An analytic study on the bond stress between steel tube and concrete in concrete filled steel(CFT) tublar column is presented in this paper. Recently buildings need members which are enhanced durability and ductility. Concrete filled tublar column system is proposed as alternative plan. In this paper, ABAQUS/Standard Version 5.8 which is identified as usefulness for finite element analysis and has various element library is used. The variables in this study are the location and type of shear-connector. The modeling ell contact problem practiced by Contact Pair and Contact Pressure method. In the step of physical bond, it is practiced by Change friction option. After yielding of models, analytic results is less than that of experimental results.

  • It is generally referred that life cycle of concrete construction is depend on whether durability of concrete is obtained or not. Nevertheless, it has not been yet applied that new material and technology to improve durability of concrete such as seaside concrete construction. In this study, chemical agent which is capable of improving durability added to 2 types seaside concrete mixs and evaluated engineering properties such as slump, air content, setting time and compressive strength. Besides shrinkage crack with an restraint condition and chloride ion penetration tests were executed to measure resistance of concrete added chemical agent and then compared non-added. It was appeared that engineering properties and resistant for chlorides was possible to improved. But resistant for shrinkage crack was not noticeable improvement than non-added. Therefore it is necessary that more consideration and following study to improve durability aspect to shrinkage crack and chlorides resistant.
