  • GPS, ARPA, AIS, NAVTEX, VHF as modern aids-to-navigation equipments improve the safe navigation and help to reach a reduction in marine accidents by providing images, numeric values, texts, audio-based information for mates, However, we also noticed that it's complicate and difficult for a mate to acquire and analyze such information from these devices while he should devote himself to bridge watchkeeping especially in the urgent situation. Language is another way to get information and free the eyes and hands, so, to solve the problem above, we are trying to propose a new aids-to-navigation system, which can understand and merge multimedia marine safety information, analyze the situation and provide the necessary information in language. In this paper, we try to fuse data of ARPA/AIS using Euclidean distance for providing integrated information.

  • The most widely used radar pulse compression technique is correlation processing using Barker code. This technique enhances detection sensitivity but, unfortunately, suffers from the addition of range sidelobes which sometimes will degrade the performance of radar systems. In this paper, our proposed optimal algorithm eliminates the sidelobes at the cost of additional processing and is evaluated in the presence of Doppler shift. We then propose optimal codes with regard to the proposed algorithm and the performance is compared against the traditional correlation processing with Barker codes. The proposed processing using optimal codes will be shown to be superior over the traditional processing in the presence of Doppler shift.

  • This paper deals with the relationships between MgO manufacturing condition and misfiring at low temperature. The characteristics of MgO are affected by substrate temperature and MgO deposition current. In this study. the. substrate temperature was varied from $100^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. And the MgO deposition current was varied from 5mA to 20mA. As a result. the misfiring at low temperature was decreased in the panels with substrate temperature $200^{\circ}C$ and MgO deposition current 5mA. These results may be explained that the higher substrate temperature and lower MgO deposition current makes the denser film formation.

  • Small- and medium-sized companies obtain ISO 9000 quality management systems as a way of adapting to the changes of business environment and improving their business performance. Certificates of ISO 9000 quality management systems have been granted to companies by either domestic or foreign certification agencies with different requirements and standards. This study empirically examined whether there are differences in business performance among small- and medium-sized companies that have obtained ISO 9000 quality management system from different types (domestic or foreign) of certification agencies. This study found that there are statistically significant differences in both qualitative and quantitative business performance among them. The findings of this study imply that companies considering ISO 9000 quality management systems be prudent in choosing the type of certification agency to maximize the expected benefits of ISO 9000 quality management systems. This study also provides the government agency regulating ISO 9000 quality management certification system with some valuable information that brings up the need for establishing and managing a more effective quality management certification system.

하나로 냉중성자원 시설계통 배기수집탱크 내 수소가스 분석

  • 하나로 반사체의 수직공 안에 설치된 냉중성자원 시설계통의 수조내기기는 원자로에서 생성되는 열중성자를 약 22K의 감속재로 감속시켜 0.1~10 meV 범위에서 높은 선속을 갖는 냉중성자를 생산한다. 냉중성자를 생산하기 위한 냉중성자원 시설계통의 구성은 감속재인 수소를 포함하고 있는 수소계통, 수소의 외부누출을 방지하기 위한 가스블랭킷계통, 극저온의 액체수소를 생산하기 위한 헬륨냉동계통, 극저온인 액체수소 층을 감속재용기 내에 유지하기 위한 진공계통 등으로 되어있다. 이들 계통 중 진공계통은 냉중성자원 시설계통의 정상운전 시 액체수소 열사이펀, 감속재용기 등의 냉중성자원 극저온 부품의 단열을 위하여 진공용기의 내부 진공도를 공정진공도 이하로 유지하기 위한 계통이다. 정상운전 시 진공계통으로부터 발생되는 배기 가스는 배기 수집탱크에 포집된다. 냉중성자원 시설계통으로부터 발생되는 배기가스는 배기수 집탱크를 통하여 수소의 누출여부를 확인한 후 원자로홀로 배기되도록 되어 있으며, 만일의 경우 탱크내부의 배기가스 수소 농도가 기준치인 3.5%이상일 때는 유입 원을 자동으로 차단하고, 희석용 가스인 고압의 질소를 주입하여 수소의 농도를 기준치 이하로 낮춘 후 원자로 홀로 자동 배출하도록 되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 냉중성자가 생산되는 냉중성자원 시설계통의 운전과정에서 진공계통으로부터 배출되는 배기가스를 배기수집탱크로 포집하고, 이 가스에 대해 수소가스의 농도를 분석하여 원자로 홀로 안전하게 배기할 수 있도록 수행된 수소가스 분석에 대해 기술하였다.

이동식 진공 배기장치를 이용한 하나로 냉중성자원 가스블랭킷계통의 기능시험

  • 하나로 노심에서 발생하는 열중성자를 감속재인 액체수소층을 통과시켜 냉중성자를 생산 하는 설비인 냉중성자원 시설은 초경량 합금, 신소재 및 DNA 구조연구 등의 첨단기술연구에 유용한 도구로 활용될 계획이며, 현재 원자력연구원에서는 냉중성자원 시설을 개발하여 제작 설치하였고, 이 장치들에 대해 기능시험을 수행하였다. 냉중성자원 시설계통에서 가스블랭킷계통은 수소의 외부누출을 방지하고, 진공용기를 포함한 수조내기기 내부로 공기 및 경수가 유입되지 않도록 하여 냉중성자원을 보호하기 위한 역할을 수행한다. 또한 가스블랭킷계통의 구성은 가스공급장치($N_2$ 및 He 가스 실린더로부터 가스공급 기능), 질소충압탱크, 진공박스, 수소박스, 밸브박스 및 각 구역별 독립 배관 등으로 되어있다. 이동식 진공배기장치는 가스블랭킷계통에서 사용하기 위해 특수하게 제작된 장치로서 진공계통과 수소계통의 초기충진 시 또는 계통배기 시 잔류가스를 제거하거나, 블랭킷가스의 오염검사를 위한 시료채취 기능 등을 수행할 수 있도록 되어있다. 본 논문에서는 냉중성자원장치 내의 수소계통 및 진공계통의 배관과 기기를 외기와 경수로부터 안전하게 격리시키기 위해서 제작설치 적용된 가스블랭킷계통에서 이동식 진공배기장치를 이용하여 잔류가스 제거방법과 각 가스블랭킷 영역으로부터 시료를 채취하여 수행된 산소농도 분석에 대해 기술하였다.

Adsorption characteristics of As(III) and Cr(VI) from aqueous solution by Sediment Amendment Composite (저질개선제에 의한 수용액상의 As(III)와 Cr(VI) 흡착 특성)

  • The adsorption characteristics of mixed heavy metals (Cr(III), As(VI)) in aqueous solution were investigated using a sediment amendment composite. Sediment amendment composite was composed of clean sediment (40%), zeolite (20%), recycled aggregate (10%), steel slag (10%), oyster shell (10%), and cement (10%). The experimental results showed that the adsorption equilibrium was attained after 180 mins. Heavy metal adsorption was characterized using Freundlich and Langmuir equations. The equilibrium adsorption data for the sediment amendment composite better fitted with the Langmuir model than the Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity of Cr(VI) (36.07 mg/g) was higher than As(III) (25.54 mg/g); and the adsorption efficiency of the Cr(VI) and As(III) ions solution decreased with decreasing pH from 2 to 10. The collective results suggested that the sediment amendment composite is a promising material for a reactive cap that controls the release of Cr(VI) and As(III) from contaminated sediments.

Improvements of Reverberation Chamber's Performance by using Active Noise Control (능동 소음제어를 이용한 잔향실의 저주파 특성 개선 가능성)

  • An active method that improves low frequency characteristics of a reverberation chamber has been proposed. Spatial uniformity of sound pressure at low frequency has been increased by applying active noise control system. The system acts as frequency selective damping materials, which decreases resonance at low frequency and leave high frequency sound field as it is. Linearity of the chamber, which is essential for sound power measurement in the chamber, is guaranteed since fixed control logic has been adopted. Simple application and tests have been done in a small sized rectangular reverberation chamber which has 400Hz cutoff, Loud speakers were used to simulate a noise source and to construct an active noise control system. The spatial distribution of a sound field at 250Hz, 315Hz and 400Hz bands has been measured before and after control. The standard deviation of sound field has been decreased from 3.4dB to 2.5dB. The results show the possibility of active control system as a sound diffuser.

Numerical Formula and Verification of Web Robot for Collection Speedup of Web Documents

  • A web robot is a software that has abilities of tracking and collecting web documents on the Internet(l), The performance scalability of recent web robots reached the limit CIS the number of web documents on the internet has increased sharply as the rapid growth of the Internet continues, Accordingly, it is strongly demanded to study on the performance scalability in searching and collecting documents on the web. 'Design of web robot based on Multi-Agent to speed up documents collection ' rather than 'Sequentially executing Web Robot based on the existing Fork-Join method' and the results of analysis on its performance scalability is presented in the thesis, For collection speedup, a Multi-Agent based web robot performs the independent process for inactive URL ('Dead-links' URL), which is caused by overloaded web documents, temporary network or web-server disturbance, after dividing them into each agent. The agents consist of four component; Loader, Extractor, Active URL Scanner and inactive URL Scanner. The thesis models a Multi-Agent based web robot based on 'Amdahl's Law' to speed up documents collection, introduces a numerical formula for collection speedup, and verifies its performance improvement by comparing data from the formula with data from experiments based on the formula. Moreover, 'Dynamic URL Partition algorithm' is introduced and realized to minimize the workload of the web server by maximizing a interval of the web server which can be a collection target.

  • Economic feasibility was conducted regarding the regulation that dictates obligatory installation of renewable energy facilities in small proportion. A concern is how to allocate the capacities of candidate facilities (solar collectors, PV cells and geothermal heat pumps) with minimum cost, and meet the obligatory energy supply proportion. A design rule has been developed, with which a designer can tune his or her design strategy between installation cost and LCC. This was derived mainly from documents regarding the KEMCO installation guide. It was concluded that PV was the cheapest, with respect to installation cost, but a geothermal heat pump was the most recommended, when LCC was also taken into account. The proposed design result was also confirmed, by simulation results obtained from Energy Plus.
