The Relationship between the Covert Narcissism and Marital Satisfaction of Korean-Americans: The Mediating Effects of Forgiveness and Empathy (재미 한인 기혼자의 내현적 자기애와 결혼만족도의 관계: 용서와 공감의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the structural relationship between covert narcissism, forgiveness, empathy, and marital satisfaction for Korean-American married couples and to discover the differences in covert narcissism, forgiveness, empathy, and marital satisfaction by gender and years married. Also this study aims to prove the mediating effects of forgiveness and empathy, and to examine the structural relationship differences across genders. For this purpose, a total of 248 married Korean Americans who live in South Carolina, Arizona and Texas were subjected for this research. The results of the study were as follows. First, covert narcissism showed a negative correlation with forgiveness, empathy and marital satisfaction. And there was a positive correlation between forgiveness, empathy and marital satisfaction. Second, the differences in forgiveness and marital satisfaction by gender and years married were significant. Third, as a result of the mediating effects test, empathy and forgiveness showed indirect influence between covert narcissism and marital satisfaction. Fourth, for married males the effects of covert narcissism on empathy, empathy on forgiveness, empathy on marital satisfaction were significant. For married females, the effects of covert narcissism on forgiveness, forgiveness on marital satisfaction were significant. Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

보건관리대행기관 산업간호사의 업무수행과 직무만족도에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구는 보건관리대행기관에 근무하는 산업간호사들의 보건관리업무실태 및 근무만족도와 이들간의 관계를 파악함으로써, 산업간호업무향상 및 효율적인 산업보건관리를 위한 기초자료로 제시하고자 시도되었다. 조사대상은 38개 보건관리대행기관중 24개 기관에 근무하는 산업간호사 118명중 97명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구기간은 '92년 5월부터 6월까지 설문조사를 실시하였으며 그중 89명이 설문에 응답하여 이를 분석 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보건관리대행기관의 간호사는 산업간호사의 일반적 특성과 비교해볼 때 기존 산업간호사와 유사하였다. 그러나 법정휴가를 받는다는 간호사가 59.1%로 더 낮았다. 둘째, 보건관리대행기관 산업간호사의 담당사업장수는 법적으로 30개 사업장, 2,000명의 근로자를 담당하도록 되어있는데 조사결과 법적기준인 보건관리사업장의 수를 담당하는 간호사는 57.1%를 차지하였고, 담당 근로자 수로 볼때는 2,000명이하가 29.8%를 차지하여 많은 산업간호사가 법적인 기준을 초과하여 산업보건관리를 대행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 보건관리대행의 방문방법으로 교통편은 대행 기관차량을 이용하며, 간호사 혼자 산업장을 방문하는 것이 대부분으로 나타났고, 방문횟수는 100인미만이 월1회, 100인이상이 월2회로 규정된 것과 비교해보면 규정을 따르는 곳이 100인 미만의 경우 97.4%, 100인이상의 경우 86.4%였다. 또한 의사나 위생사는 방문을 안하거나 년1-5회 방문하는 것으로 나타나 보건관리대행의 주제공자는 간호사인 것으로 냐타났다. 또한 사업장 방문시 업무수행장소는 휴게실이나 사무실이 87.5%, 현장이나 수위실에서 하는 곳이 70.5%나 되어 뚜렷이 업무를 수행할 장소가 마련되지 않은 실정을 나타냈다. 네째, 보건관리대행에 근무하는 산업간호사의 애로사항은 사업장내에서는 조직과 체계상의 문제, 간호사 역할에 대한 인식부족, 권한과 자율성 부족 등을 들었고, 사업장 방문시에는 사업주와 근로자의 인식부족이 우선적으로 지적되었다. 또한 산업간호사는 보건관리 대행업무에서 사업장의 참여유도, 사업장 순회점검 및 개선지도, 보건교육, 건강상담이 우선적으로 실시되어야 한다고 하였다. 다섯째, 보건관리대행기관 산업간호사의 업무수행정도는 건강검진이나 직업병관리, 보건교육, 환경위생관리업무를 비교적 많이 실시하는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 보건관리대행기관 산업간호사의 직무만족도는 전문적 위치나 상호작용, 업무요구등은 높게 나타났으나 보수와 산업보건관계자와의 관계등은 만족도가 낮게 나타났다. 또한 직무만족도에 대한 총화점수는 사업장근무자가 240점중 143.8인데 비해 보건관리대행기관 근무자는 230점중 129.61점으로 더 낮게 나타났다. 일곱째, 일반적 특성별 보건관리대행 산업간호사의 직무수행정도는 연령별 30세이상군이, 결혼상태별로 기혼군이, 경력은 1년이상인 군이, 근무시간 8시간인군이, 급여수준은 50만원이상인군이, 법정휴가가 있는 군이, 자질향상교육을 받은군이 담당사업장수가 30개이하인 군이, 더 높게 나타났다. 또한 연령군이 20-24군과 30세이상인군 (p<0.05), 결혼상태별로 기혼군과 미혼군(p<0.01), 급여수준별로 50만원미만군과 이상인 군(p<0.05), 법정휴가가 있는 군과 없는군(p<0.05), 자질향상 교육을 받은군과 받지못한 군(p<0.01), 담당사업장수가 30이하인 군과 31인이상인 군(p<0.05) 간에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉 산업간호사중 나이가 많고, 기혼이며 급여수준이 높고 법정휴가와 교육을 받고, 담당사업장수가 30이하인 군이 보건관리대행업무를 잘 수행하는 것으로 나타났다. 여덟째, 일반적 특성별 보건관리대행 산업간호사의 직무만족도는 연령별 30세이상군이, 결혼상태별로 기혼군이 경력은 1년이상인 군이, 근무시간 8시간인군이, 급여수준은 50만원이상군이, 법정휴가가있는군이, 자질향상교육을 받은군이, 담당사업장수가 30개이하인 군이 더 높게 나타났다. 또한 결혼상태별로 기혼군과 미혼군(p<0.01), 근무시간별로 8시간군과 9시간 이상인 군(p<0.01), 급여수준별 50만원 미만군과 이상군(p<0.05), 자질향상교육을 받은군과 받지 않은군(p<0.05) 사이에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 즉 산업간호사중 기혼이고 근무시간은 8시간이며 급여수준이 높고 자질향상교육을 받은 군이 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 아홉째, 보건관리대행기관 산업간호사의 업무수행정도와 직무만족도 사이의 상관관계를 보면 보수, 자율성, 업무요구가 높을수록 산업간호업무를 수행을 잘하는 것으로 나타났으며(상관관계 r>0.6, P>0.001), 전체적으로 총직무만족도와 업무수행정도와의 상관관계는 6346, P<0.001로서 만족도가 높을수록 업무수행정도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 토대로하여 보면, 보건관리대행기관에 근무하는 산업간호사는 그 특성을 고려하여 업무도 사업장 근무자와 다르게 규정되어야 하며, 담당업무의 명확한 한계를 정해 중소규모사업장의 산업보건관리업무를 책임있게 수행할 수 있도록 뒷받침이 필요하다. 더불어, 직무만족도를 높일수 있도록, 산업간호사에 대한 다방면의 지원이 필요하다고 하겠다. 또한 보건관리대행기관 산업간호사는 나이가 많고 기혼이며 경력있는 간호사를 채용하고 근로조건을 잘 개선하면 직무수행정도가 더 높아질 것으로 보인다. 좋은 근로조건의 형성과 직무만족도 등을 높여 산업간호사의 직무를 효율적으로 수행할 수 있도록 하기 위하여는 보건관리대행기관에 관한 규정이 강화 보완되어야 하겠으며, 민간단체와 의료기관 뿐아니라 공공기관에서도 중소규모사업장의 보건관리업무를 담당하는 방향으로 전환하는 방안을 모색해 보아야 할 것이다.

A Post-Occupancy Evaluation of Maplewood Park : Cornell University's Campus Housing (코넬대학교 캠퍼스 주택" Maplewood Park"의 이용후 평가)

  • 본 연구의 대상지는 미국 뉴욕(New York)주 이타카(Ithaca)시에 있는 코넬대학교 (Cornell University)의 미혼자와 기혼자 대학원생 및 그 가족을 위한 캠퍼스 주택인 Maplewood Park이다. 연구자인 동시에 디자이 너의 입장에서 필자는 다음의 4가지 방법을 가지고 이 Maplewood Park에 대한 이용후 평가(post-occupancy evaluation)를 실시하였다: 1)물리적 흔 적 관찰(observing physical traces), 2)행태 관찰(observing physical traces), 3)면담(interviews), 4)설문지(questionnaires). 본 연구는 주거 환경 의 옥외공간이 가지고 있는 물리적 특징과 성질에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연 구는 행태 자료 수집에서부터 완성된 주택단지의 개선을 위한 디자인 제안 까지의 전 과정을 보여주며 주거 환경의 실제 이용자인 주택 단지 거주자 로부터 획득한 체계적이고 객관적인 행태와 태도에 관한 자료에 근거하여, 장래에 있을 유사한 주택 단지 건설을 위한 디자인 기준을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on Married Women's Experiences in Family Constellation against Induced Abortion (기혼 여성의 임신중절에 대한 가족세우기 경험 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to find out how married women who had had an abortions experience a change through Family Constellation. The consequent changes will occur in the perception of an abortion experience and in the relation between married women themselves and their family. The participants in the study were 9 married women aged 40~60 who have experienced an abortion, and data collection was carried out over 3 periods which were before, right after and one month after the Family Constellation experience through individual in-depth interviews. The chief methodology of this study is based on the one by Colaizzi's phenomenological research, and by using the methodology to analyze the data 15 theme collections and 3 categories were deducted. According to the result of the analysis, the experience of abortion was having negative influence on the whole spectrum of the life of married women who experienced an abortion even though they did not consciously recall the relevant experiences. In the married women's Family Constellation, the agent visualizes the restrained relation which is hidden in unconsciousness and thereby offers an opportunity for married women to untie "knot". Moreover through this opportunity, married women are able to have new perception of their abortion experience and the relation between their family. Furthermore, not only will they be able to recover the relationship with their family, but also emotional stability.

Food consumption behaviors of women by marital status: focus on the 2015 consumers survey data on food consumption behaviors (여성의 결혼여부에 따른 식품소비양상 연구 : 2015년 식품소비행태조사의 식품주 구입자 자료를 이용하여)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze food consumption behavior of women by marital status based on the 2015 consumer survey data on Food Consumption Behaviors of the Korea Rural Economic Institute. Methods: We analyzed data describing 3,312 women aged 19 ~ 75 who were the main buyers of foods in their household. The food purchase patterns, dining-out behavior, and use of food-delivery and take-out were investigated. Results: Overall, 40.5% of unmarried women shopped for food once per week and 37.4% spent 200,000 ~ 400,000 won per month. Additionally, 43.1% of married women shopped 2 ~ 3 times per week and 26.6% spent 400,000 ~ 600,000 won (p < 0.0001). Dining-out frequency and one-time cost per person of dining-out for unmarried women were higher than those for married women. With delivery/take-out food frequency, 2 time per week was the highest rate among married women (34.6%) and once per week was the highest among unmarried women (31.2%) respectively. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate food consumption behaviors and trends of Korean women by marital status. This study provides basic data that will be useful for food industries establishing marketing strategies to better meet consumer demands.

The Impact of Job Stress and Work-Family Conflict among Married Workers in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises on Turnover Intention (중소기업 기혼근로자의 직무스트레스와 직장-가정갈등(WFC)이 이직의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to verify the impact of job stress on turn over intention among the married workers in small and medium sized enterprises in South Korea, as well as to examine mediation effect of work-family conflict between the two variables. For this research, 135 workers were selected through a web-based survey from February to March, 2015. As results, job stress was statistically influential on turnover intention and work-family conflict. Work-family conflict implied the partial mediation effect of turnover intention, with both direct and indirect impacts on depression. The findings suggest that preventive programs against job stress and work-family conflict, such as Employee Assistance Programs(EAPs), should be launched in order to reduce the problems. Korean government must legislate for family-friendly work environment to help company could activate the assistance programs for the employees who suffer from the work-family conflicts.

Effects of Married Women's Couple Equality on the Intent to Additional Childbirth (기혼 여성의 부부 평등성이 추가 출산 의향에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed 10,352 married women to find the correlation between marital equality felt by married women and additional childbirth intentions. Frequency analysis and chi-square test analysis were performed to analyze the general characteristics of the investigator, and studies were conducted through binary logistic regression analysis and interaction analysis to analyze the relevance between each variable and additional childbirth. As a result, the 4-point group based on the 0-point group that lowest marital equality had 2.01 times higher willingness to additional birth. And, the 3-point group and the 2-point group were 1.46 times and 1.41 times higher than 0-point group with marital equality and additional childbirth intentions. In addition, intention of additional childbirth was increased when the higher the number of children, if they own a house, and if wives are non-regular or unemployed. This study analyzed the relationship between married women's intention to give birth additionally, focusing on marital equality. It is suggested that specific and reasonable policies at the macro level are required to improve the fertility rate.

Study on the consumption practices and Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of meal-kit selection attributes among adults in their 20s and 30s (20-30대 성인의 밀키트 소비 실태와 밀키트 선택속성에 대한 중요도-만족도 분석)

  • Purpose: This study examined the meal-kit consumption practices of adults in their 20s and 30s and analyzed the properties that should be given priority for improvement among the selection attributes to improve the quality of meal-kits. Methods: Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS program (ver. 28.0) for χ2-test, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range test, factor analysis, and Importance-Satisfaction Analysis (ISA). Results: Of the 249 subjects surveyed, 85.5% had some experience of purchasing meal-kits, with significantly more females than males (p < 0.01), significantly more married people than single people (p < 0.05), significantly more employed people than unemployed people (p < 0.05). Meal-kits were purchased most frequently for meals (60.6%), from discount stores or supermarkets (44.6%), and priced between 10,000 won and 20,000 won per person (46.9%). The overall satisfaction with meal-kits was 4.1 out of 5.0 points. The frequency of purchases was Korean soup dishes (69.5%), Korean main dishes (47.4%), and Korean street snacks (46.9%). Factor analysis of the meal-kit selection attributes revealed, 4 factors: 'quality of food,' 'packaging and diversity,' 'quality of meal-kit,' and 'convenience and price.' Compared to single-person households, multi-person households placed significantly higher importance on the 'quality of food,' 'packaging and diversity,' and 'quality of meal-kit.' The factor, 'packaging and diversity' were significantly higher in the importance evaluation scores for females (p < 0.01), married people (p < 0.05), and people in their 30s (p < 0.05) among meal-kit consumers. According to the ISA results, a critical aspect that meal-kit manufacturers or sellers should strengthen is 'price.' Conclusion: Meal-kit products will need to be developed for various purposes that offer high value for money that can satisfy the consumers' needs to improve the satisfaction of meal-kit consumers.

A Study on Work Environment and Job Satisfaction of Dental Hygienists in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do (대구.경북 치과위생사의 근무환경과 직무만족에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate work environment and job satisfaction of dental hygienists. The survey had collected 373 dental hygienists in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do areas. The results were as follow; 1. The overall average of job satisfaction was 3.30. 2. Differences in the general characteristics and job satisfaction were significantly high with high age, high educational level and high work experience for married people. It was also significantly high when people worked in Gyeongsangbuk-do rather than in Daegu. 3. Differences in work environment and job satisfaction were significantly high in large size of the hospital, patient management and consultation services rather than assistance, monthly salary rather than annular salary, the presence of training opportunity and benefit for long-term worker, and more other vacations and annual vacations. 4. The influence factors of general characteristics on job satisfaction were education, work area and marriage in order ($R^2$=0.092). 5. The influence factors of work environment on job satisfaction were training opportunities, benefit for long-term worker, size of hospital, area of work and incentives in order($R^2$=0.092). From the above results, in order to improve job satisfaction of dental hygienists require a reasonable working environment considering the realistic situation improved.
