Book numbers can be defined as the device for providing a unique self location for each book. They should include main entry which consists of author, title, the date of publication. Now, the university libraries are using eleven different methods on book numbers, in other words, nine eastern methods and two western methods. The aim of this study is to investigate problems that the present book number system has and some concerns that should be taken into account in case of the modification of the book number system and change into a new one. This study is based on the survey in that the librarian gave to 110 university libraries throughout the nation. As a result, the survey indicates that the crucial concerns of the participathing libraries are ineffective book management and the duplication of book numbers. In addition, the survey indicates that the priorities of the libraries is removing duplicated numbers, adhering to the current system, and keeping the same book arrangement system. Therefore, this study suggests the components for the expansion of the book number system and the necessity of standardization of diverse book numbers.

이 글은 1970년 11월 7일 이화여자대학교 도서관에서 개최된 ‘한국도서관학회 제1회 학술발표회’에서 발표된 필자의 발표논문 요지이다. 이 논문은 원래 ‘표의 구조론에 입각한 우리 나라 저자기호법의 연구’와 ‘저자기호법에 있어서 한글의 기호삼기 문제에 대하여-기호법의 요건과 Syllabic Notation의 원리에 입각한 고찰-’과 ‘동서저자 기호표(제2판, 개정판)의 구성원리와 사용원칙’이란 제목으로 되어 있는 세편의 독립된 논문인데 동학회 학술발표회를 위하여 Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,으로 요약하여 발효한 것이다. 이 논문들의 지상발표는 Ⅰ은 한국도서관학회지 제1집에, Ⅱ는 연세학교 Ⅱ‘인문과학’ 제24집(1970년 12월)에, Ⅲ은 본 기관지에 각각 실릴 예정이다.

Mathematical symbolizing is an important part of mathematics learning. But many students have difficulties m symbolizing mathematical ideas formally. If students had experiences inventing their own mathematical symbols and developing them to conventional ones natural way, i.e. learning mathematical symbols via expressive approaches, they could understand and use formal mathematical symbols meaningfully. These experiences are especially valuable for students who meet mathematical symbols for the first time. Hence, there are needs to investigate how early elementary school students can and should experience meaningful mathematical symbolizing. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' mathematical symbolizing processes and characteristics of theses. We carried out teaching experiments that promoted meaningful mathematical symbolizing among eight first graders. And then we analyzed students' symbolizing processes and characteristics of expressive approaches to mathematical symbols in early elementary students. As a result, we could places mathematical symbolizing processes developed in the teaching experiments under five categories. And we extracted and discussed several characteristics of early elementary students' meaningful mathematical symbolizing processes.

The objective of this study is to analyze the characteristics of Cutter's Expansive Classification. The four elements about classification evaluation were applied to analyze it. Results show that first, from philosophy and religion class to literature class, the order of main classes is logical and evolutionary. Second, the notation is a pure notation including author mark. Third, the classification is expansive from first classification to seventh classification. Science classes were expanded in the second classification comparing to the first classification. From the third classification, all classes were expanded. Fourth, it was applied by the local list to indicate places emphasizing connection of geographical space.

The semiotic approach to the mathematics education has been studied in last 20 years by PME, ICME conferences. New cultural developments in multi-media, digital documents and digital arts and cultures may influence mathematical education and teaching and learning activities. Hence semiotical interest in the mathematics education research and practice will be increasing. In this paper the basic ideas of semiotics, such as Peirce triad and Saussure's dyad, are introduced with some mathematical applications. There is some similarities between traditional research topics for concept, representation and social construction in mathematics education research and semiotic approach topics for the same subjects. some semiotic applications for an arithmetic problem for work, induction, deduction and abduction syllogisms with respect to Peirce's triad, its meaning in scientific discoveries and learning in geometry and symmetry.

The Book number, which used to distinguish an individual book from every other book in the same class for easy arrangement and retrieval, can be classified into accession order book number, alphabetical book number. and chronological book number. Nowdays' incredible developing speed of knowledge change the standard of information value, the newest is the best, and user behavior, to seek the newest first. To deal with these changes, libraries need to classify the newest information into the same place. Hoping this system can be adopted in the korean libraries, I introduce the characteristics and structures of $\ulcorner$New Chronological Book Number$\lrcorner$ which was designed to deal with library's need and examine the features of alphabetical arrangement of it.

This study is to suggest the new ideal classification scheme of revise edition of KDC. New suggestions are : using add table, diversify of note, and expand the auxiliary tables contents, add instruction like "Add to base number$\sim$notation $\sim$from table $\sim$."

본 논문에서는 Boole 함수를 기호 다치 논리 함수로 확장하여 법-M(Modulus-M)의 수체계를 기본으로 하는 기호 다치 논리 함수에 대한 MacLaurin 전개의 구조적 성질을 분석한다. 그리고 기호 다치 변수의 상태 변화에 따라 이에 사상된 퍼지 규칙을 자동 생성할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 또한 이러한 이론과 성질을 기존의 퍼지 추론 기능과 결합하여 동적인 상태 변화에 적응할 수 있는 퍼지 추론 시스템 설계방법을 제안한다.
