Cesium Adsorption Properties of Activated Carbon with Oxygen Functional Groups Introduced by Ozonation Treatment (오존 처리에 의해 산소 작용기가 도입된 활성탄소의 세슘 흡착 특성)

  • Cesium is a potential toxic contaminant due to its high solubility, which allows it to easily penetrate the human body and potentially induce cancer or DNA mutations. In this study, oxygen functional groups were introduced on activated carbons (ACs) by ozone treatment to enhance the cesium adsorption capacity. As the ozone treatment time increased, the oxygen content on the ACs surface increased. Subsequently, the electrostatic interaction between ACs and cesium enhanced, resulting in higher cesium ion adsorption efficiency across all samples. In particular, the sample treated with ozone for 7 minutes at an internal ozone concentration of 50000 ppm had roughly 12% greater oxygen functional group content and the highest cesium removal effectiveness (97.6%). Meanwhile, samples treated for 5 minutes showed a 0.3% cesium removal rate difference compared to those treated for 7 minutes, which was caused by the surface chemical similarity of the two samples due to the reactive characteristics of ozone gas. However, the cesium adsorption performance of ozonated activated carbon seems to be mainly influenced by the amount of oxygen functional groups introduced to the surface, although the specific surface area and pore structure of the activated carbon are also important.

음향공에 의한 LOX-RP1 고주파 음향-연소안정화에 관한 연구

  • 액체 추진 로켓 엔진의 고주파 연소 불안정 관련 이론은 대체로 연소기 내부의 음향 공명 모드와 분무 연소 과정의 상호 작용을 구동 메커니즘으로 전제하며 Rayleigh Criterion의 재해석에 기초하여 불안정성 평가를 위한 매개변수를 도입하고 연소 불안정성을 예측한다. 여기에는 음향장 분석 이론, 음향 불안정 이론, 연소응답 및 기화반응 이론 등이 포함된다. 본 연구에서는 LOX/RPl 추진제 조합의 액체 추진 로켓 엔진 연소기를 대상으로 다차원 순수 음향장 해석과 연소-음향장 분석을 통해 대상 엔진의 고주파 연소 불안정 특성을 예측하였다. 수동 제어 기기인 음향공 설치에 따른 연소기의 음향장 및 연소-음향장의 특성 변화를 고찰하고 위 결과를 종합하여 음향공의 연소 불안정 억제 성능 및 대상 엔진의 연소 불안정성을 평가하였다. 연소기 형상 및 음향공 설치에 따른 다차원 순수 음향장 해석은 상용코드인 ANSYS를 사용하여 수행하였다. 내부 유체는 압축성, 비점성 유체로 유체의 평균 유동은 무시하며 위치에 관계없이 균일한 물성치를 부여하였다. 정상상태 연소과정을 가정하고 평형 화학을 이용한 분석 결과로부터 연소 기체의 관련 물성치를 결정하였다. 연소기 길이 방향, 반경 방향, 원주 방향 격자점들의 음향 특성을 주파수 영역에 대해 해석하고 3차원 음향 모드 형상을 토대로 음향장을 분석하였다. 연소-음향장 해석은 음향 불안정 이론 중 n- $\tau$ 2 매개변수 기법을 사용하였다. 연료 액적의 분무 연소 과정을 1차원적으로 가정하고 정상상태의 평형 화학 계산 결과를 이용하여 엔진의 연소면을 1차원적으로 설정하였다. 상류 연소응답과 중립 안정 곡선을 토대로 대상 엔진의 연소 불안정 특성을 분석하였다.구 분석 결과 기술적 문제점으로는 배기 가스온도가 낮은데 따른 출구 부분의 Bearing, Sealing이 문제가 될 수 있다고 판단되며 배기 가스 자체에 대기 공기중에 함유되어 있던 습기가 얼어붙는(Icing화) 문제가 발생하기 때문에 배기가스의 Icing을 방지하기 위하여 압축기 끝단에서 공기를 추출하여 배기부분에 송출할 필요성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 출구가스의 기체 유동속도가 매우 빠르므로 (100-l10m.sec) 이를 완화하기 위한 디퓨저의 설계가 요구된다고 판단된다. 또 연소기 후방에 물을 주입하는 경우 열교환기 및 기타 부분품에 발생할 수 있는 부식 및 열교환 효율 저하도 간과할 수 없는 문제로 파악되었다. 이러한 기술적 문제가 적절히 해결되는 경우 비활성 가스 제너레이터는 민수용으로는 대형 빌딩, 산림, 유조선 등의 화재에 매우 적절히 사용되어 질 수 있을 뿐 아니라 군사적으로도 군사작전 중 및 공군 기지의 화재 그리고 지하벙커에 설치되어 있는 고급 첨단 군사 장비 등의 화재 뿐 아니라 대간첩작전 등에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.가 작으며, 본 연소관에 충전된 RDX/AP계 추진제의 경우 추진제의 습기투과에 의한 추진제 물성 변화는 미미한 것으로 나타났다.의 향상으로, 음성개선에 효과적이라고 사료되었으며, 이 방법이 편측 성대마비 환자의 효과적인 음성개선의 치료방법의 하나로 응용될 수 있으리라 생각된다..7%), 혈액투석, 식도부분절제술 및 위루술·위회장문합술을 시행한 경우가 각 1례(2.9%)씩이었다. 13) 심각한 합병증은 9례(26.5%)에서 보였는데 그중 식도협착증이 6례(17.6%), 급성신부전증 1례(2.9%), 종격동기흉과 폐염이 병발한 경우와 폐염이 각 1례(2.9%)였다. 14)

  • Simulated liquid waste containing 50 ppm cobalt ion was treated by precipitate flotation using the surfactant of sodium lauryl sulfate. The effects of initial cobalt ion concentration, pH, surfactant concentration, removal time, gas flow rate and foreign ions were estimated on removal efficiency. 35% $H_2O_2$ was added for pre-treatment stage before precipitate flotation. As the result of pre-treatment, optimum removal pH and the pH of treated water being discharged were lowed and optimum removal pH range was broadened. For the result of this experiment, 99.8% removal efficiency was obtained at the condition of 50ppm of initial cobalt ion concentration, pH 9.5, 70 mL/min of gas flow rate, and 30 min of removal time. Attraction between precipitate and surfactant was supposed to be influenced by solubility and chemical affinity among species in sloution as well as zeta potential. The influence of foreign ions such as, $NO_3{^-}$, ${SO_4}^{-2}$, $Na^+$, $Ca^{+2}$ on the removal efficiency was also observed. Removal efficiency by precipitate flotation containing 0.1 M of ${SO_4}^{-2}$ ion decreased to 90% due to the decrease of zeta potential and interruption of precipitation.

  • Kimchi, a Korean fermented vegetable is packaged without pasteurization and distributed with live bacteria actively working to produce lactic acid and carbon dioxide gas in the product. The $CO_2$ production consisting of two distinct phases of initial fast and later slow rates depends on kimchi type, salt content and storage temperature. The $CO_2$ produced from kimchi is accumulated in the product package causing volume expansion and pressure buildup. The dependence of $CO_2$ production rate on salt content and storage temperature has been published formerly and can be used for estimating the package volume and pressure under a variety of storage conditions. As methods to alleviate the problems from the produced $CO_2$, package designs with controlled diffusion pinhole, high $CO_2$ permeable film or $CO_2$ absorber have been tried by several researchers. Properly designed packages adopting the device or tool were shown to have high dissolved $CO_2$ in kimchi without volume expansion and pressure buildup, giving good sensory quality with carbonic taste. Advantages and limitations of each method have been discussed.

  • Membranes for biosensor were prepared from poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC)l derivatives using the solution casting method, and their gas permeabilities were studied. The polymer membranes dried slowly in air showed higher permeability coefficients than those dried in vacuum. The permeabilily coefficients of carboxylated poly(vinyl chloride) (CPVC) membranes for $O_2$ and $CO_2$ decreased as the pressure of the feed gas increased. The addition of dioctylphthalate (DOP) enhanced the permeation rates for $O_2$ and $CO_2$. For example, the permeability coefficients of CPVC membranes containing 30 wt. % DOP for $O_2$ and $CO_2$ at 100 psig were 2.03 and 0.96 Barrer, respectively, which were about 4~5 times higher than those of the membranes without DOP. Poly(vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate-co-vinyl alcohol) (Syn-PVCAcAl) obtained by hydrolysis of poly(vinyl chloride-co-vinyl acetate (PVCA) showed a higher permeability coefficient for $CO_2$ in the presence of DOP than that for commercial PVCAcAl, but did not show any significant difference in permeability for $O_2$.

  • In this study, we investigated the curing properties of UV-LED curable color coating. Specially, the effects of UV-LED wavelength (365, 395, and 405 nm), inert gas, the concentration of photosensitizer, and dual curing on the curing behavior of UV-LED coating systems were studied. The photopolymerization behaviors and the unreacted acrylate groups at Film-air (FA) interface and Film-substrate (FS) interface were investigated by photo differential scanning calorimetry (Photo-DSC) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflection (FT-IR/ATR), respectively. Photo-DSC results showed that the heat flow and the ultimate conversion for coating system cured by 405 nm UV-LED were higher than the corresponding values for coating systems cured by 395 and 365 nm UV-LED. FT-IR/ATR results showed that the UV-LED curing systems improved interior and through curing of the coating film, but significantly are affected by oxygen inhibition at FA-interface. The inert environment such as nitrogen purging and the dual curing improved the surface and interior curing of the coating films.

Pretreatment of the waste liquid with 35% $H_2O_2$, prior to precipitate f flotation made shin of optimal flotation pH from the strong alkalinity to weak alkaline range and made a favorable flotation of c cobalt ion in wide range of pH. For the result of this experiment, 99.8% removal efficiency was obtained on the conditions of initial coball ion concentration 50 ppm, pH 9.5 gas flow rate 70 mllmin, flotation time 30 min. The simulate ion was fanned t to be the most harmful ion against removal of cobalt by precipitate flotation of the species which were tested The presence of 0.1 M of $SO_4^{2-}$ ion decreased remo,때 $\xi$폐iciency of cobalt to 90% while the cobalt were almost entirely removed in the a absence of sulfate ion.

  • Recently, the aviation leisure business has been legislated, and related industries have become active base with increasing the light sports aircraft within the legislation system. However, in the light sports aircraft safety problem, it is often mentioned that the flight is in violation of the regulations, the lack of safety consciousness of the operator and lack of ability, and the personal operators have a risk of accident of light aircraft such as insufficient safety management and poor maintenance. At present, the maintenance of light sports aircraft is carried out by the A & P mechanic in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, but it is difficult to say that it is equipped with qualification and expertise. It is not a legal issue to undertake light sports aircraft maintenance work on the regulation system. However, the problem of reliability and appropriateness is constantly being raised because airplanes, light sports aircraft, and ultra-light vehicle are classified and serviced in a legal method. Although legal and institutional frameworks for light sports aircraft are separated, much of it is stipulated in the aviation law provisions. Light sports aircraft maintenance work also follows the current aircraft maintenance system. In the United States, Europe, and Australia where General Aviation developed, legal and institutional devices related to maintenance of light aircraft were introduced, and specialized maintenance tasks are covered in the light aircraft mechanics system. As a result of analysis of domestic and foreign laws and regulations, it is necessary to introduce the qualification system for maintenance of light aircraft. In advanced aviation countries such as the United States, Europe, and Australia, a light sports aircraft repairman system is installed to perform safety management. This is to cope with changes in the operating environment of the new light sports aircraft. This study does not suggest the need for a light aircraft repairman system. From the viewpoint of the legal system, the examination of the relevant laws and regulations revealed that the supplementary part of the system is necessary. It is also require that the necessity of introduction is raised in comparison with overseas cases. Based on these results, it is necessary to introduce the system into the light aircraft repairman system, and suggestions for how to improve it are suggested.

  • During the measurement of the flow rate of gases such as natural gas, flow hunting is observed in most orifice meters but the intensity of flow hunting at each metering system shows different characteristics. In order to investigate why such a difference occurs and whether the difference actually influences metering error, pipeline network analysis on the main factors and characteristics of flow hunting was carried out in a previous study. Following this, in this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was carried out to clarify the relation between flow instability and flow hunting and determine the factors influencing the orifice meter depending on the intensity of upward pressure fluctuation, time interval, and flow rate. Finally, we showed that the pressure hunting rate is a function of the ratio of the pressure difference before and after an orifice meter. On the basis of CFD analysis results, we also presented some major factors and relations influencing flow hunting.

  • 화학산업이 발달함에 따라 화학 산업 현장에서 사용되고 있는 가연성물질들의 여러 가지 화재 및 폭발 위험이 증가되고 있으며, 화재 및 폭발의 예방 안전을 위한 화학공정설계 및 대처에 있어, 물질의 연소특성치 데이터를 필요로 한다. 인화점은 가연성 액체를 다루는 공정에서 안전한 취급과 사고방지를 위해 중요한 자료가 되며, 화재의 위험을 나타내는 지표로서 가연성액체의 액면 가까이서 인화할 때 필요한 증기를 발산하는 액체의 최저온도, 그리고 가연성증기의 포화증기압이 공기와 혼합기체의 폭발한계 하한농도와 같게 되는 온도로 정의한다. 본 연구에서는 2성분계 혼합물에 대해 인화점을 측정하였고, 측정값을 Raoult의 법칙과 다중회귀분석(Multiple Regression)을 도입하여 이론값과 비교 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제시된 방법론에 의해 아직까지 밝혀지지 않은 순수가연성액체와 가연성혼합물의 인화점을 예측하는 방법을 전개하고자 하며, 실험에서 찾고자하는 자료에 도움을 주고자 한다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 혼합물의 인화점 예측 방법과 실험에서 측정한 자료를 화재 및 폭발을 방지하는 기초 자료로 제공하고자하며, 산업현장에서 취급되고 있고 위험성 평가가 되지 않은 보다 많은 물질에 대한 이론 및 실험 연구에 활용 되도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
