This study recognized the importance of joint research in the field of artificial intelligence and analyzed the characteristics of the industry-academic-research technological cooperation ecosystem focusing on patents from the perspective of the Techno-Economic Segment (TES). To this end, economic entities such as companies, universities, and research institutes within the ecosystem were identified for 7,062 joint research projects out of 113,289 artificial intelligence patents over the past 10 years filed in IP5 countries since 2012. Next, this study identified the topics of technological cooperation and the characteristics of cooperation. As a result of the analysis, technological cooperation is increasing, and the frequency of all types of cooperation was high in industry-to-industry (40%) and industry-to-university (25.2%) relationships. Here, this study confirmed that the role of universities is being strengthened, with an increase in the ratio of companies with strengths in funding and analytical data, industry and universities with excellent research personnel (9.8%), and cooperation between universities (1.9%). In addition, as a result of identifying collaborative patent research areas of interest and collaborative relationships through topic modeling and network analysis, overall similar research interests were derived regardless of the type of cooperation, and applications such as autonomous driving, edge computing, cloud, marketing, and consumer behavior analysis were derived. It was confirmed that the scope of research was expanding, collaborating entities were becoming more diverse, and a large-scale network including Chinese-centered universities was emerging.

This paper aims to analyze the business types of 237 IoT based smart home companies in the world (launched during 1999~2014) which got global investment last few years. For this, the previous literatures trying to analze technology and service types of smart home are searched and the typology of the platform is discussed. Based on it, this research conceptualizes an analysis framework that includes three areas of smart home like home automation, home security, and energy efficiency with the three platform types like product, software, and service. This study concludes that the development of business type for IoT based smart home ecosystem is from the product to software and it can be a platform or not. In current status, there are a few platforms of product and software, but in the device management (16%) and thermostat (11%), companies are persuing more platform like. It is difficult to find the service platform in overall areas, for application based service has a few attractions in the investment market due to the lack of cloud infrastructure and data analytics. The following three are the implication to domestic market: 1) More active offering of API and SDK, 2) more active introduction of wireless Intenet network protocols, and 3) more active interoperability efforts and alliance activities are needed.
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness of the logistics industry of three countries - Korea, China and Japan - by looking into their logistics industry structure and the related regulations. For this aim, the paper examined the modal distribution of transportation, transport infrastructure, freight cost structure and regulation in transport sector in these countries. Furthermore, this study suggests some proposals for the further cooperation to bring sustainable progress in the logistics sector across Northeast Asia. The main suggestions of this paper are as follows: First, Korean government needs to strategize its options in the logistics industry, the most competitive in the country’s service sector, in upcoming FTA negotiations with China and Japan. Second, Korea needs to foster Busan into a strategic point for the Rail Ferry System and Road Feeder System. Third, Korea should participate in establishing shuttle flight service in Northeast Asia amid exploding flight demand from active economic interchange and tourism industry development.
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to analyze production and innovation networks of manufacturers in the rural, long-live areas of Gangwon Jeju and to suggest an ideal regional development model of rural areas in the knowledge-based information age. For this purpose, we compared the areas of Gangwon Jeju with the long-live belt areas in the rural pan of the Honan region and Gwangju Jeonju, the urban part of Honam. The findings from the study are summarized as follows. Firstly, the stronger the local networks in terms of supply of the necessary input materials and labor, the more successful the manufacturing industry is in the given area. Secondly, the more diverse and lasting the networks (in terms of the location of manufacturers, local area and national area) and cooperation agents(businesses, research institutions, the local government, the central government) they have, the more prosperous the manufacturing industry is. These results indicate that the successful development model for rural areas requires that we take the approach of fostering potential innovation capabilities of total areas by fully utilizing their innate resources so as to create an internal cooperative network and further build extensive networks encompassing external entities to create a virtual innovation cluster.
This work tackles the problem of conventional reinforcement learning scheme which has a relatively long training time to reduce energy consumption in underwater network. The enhanced scheme adjusts the learning range of reinforcement learning based on distance estimation. It can be reduce the scope of learning. To take account the fact that the distance estimation may not be accurate due to the underwater wireless network characteristics. this research added noise in consideration of the underwater environment. In simulation result, the proposed AQ-NAV scheme has completed learning much faster than existing method. AQ-NAV can finish the training process within less than 40 episodes. But the existing method requires more than 120 episodes. The result show that learning is possible with fewer attempts than the previous one. If AQ-NAV will be applied in Underwater Networks, It will affect energy efficiency. and It will be expected to relieved existing problem and increase network efficiency.

The purpose of our research is to figure out the 'non-financial value' of consumers applying networks amongst consumer groups, the data-based marketing strategy to the analysis and delve into the ways for enhancing effectives in marketing activities by adapting the value to the marketing. To verify the authenticity of the points, we did the empirical test on the consumer group using 'the Essence Cosmetics Products' of high involvement that is deeply affected by consumer perceptions and the word-of-mouth activities. 1) The empirical analysis reveals the following features. First, the segmented market for 'Essence Consumer' is composed of several independent networks, each network shows to have the consumers that is high degree centrality and closeness centrality. Second, the result proves the authenticity of the non-financial value for boosting corporate profits by the high degree centrality and closeness centrality consumer's word-of-mouth activities. Lastly, we verify that there lies a difference in the network structure of 'Essence Cosmetics Market'per each product origin(domestic, foreign) and demographic characteristics. It does, therefore, indicate the need to consider the features applying mutually complementary for the network targeting.
This study aims to examine how institutions has been formed to deepen interdependence and to keep check in trade on the border regions of East Sea Rim between the macro structure and micro behaviors. The transitional nations such as China, Russia, and North Korea adjacent to the East Sea Rim exhibits unique characteristics in terms of transaction governance structure. While the regional economy in northeast China is still overwhelmed by the stated-owned enterprises(SOEs), it strongly encourages the private economic trade to form institutional economy through the border trade port and peddler trade market. Thus trade is shaped by the mixed governance. In far east Russia, whereas the SOEs are in charge of exporting oil, gas etc., private firms and small scale traders are importing household items, so that it can also be called as the mixed governance, while informal social networks simultaneously work. In North Korea, for the trade, since the firms are mainly required to have the permits from the different levels of government, it is regarded as the hierarchical governance. The institutional economics seems to well explain the changing agencies and their influence on the trade among the regions in the East Sea Rim.

The core technologies of the current transport network are OAM and protection switching to meet the sub-50ms protection switching time via a path redundancy when a link or node failure occurs. The transport networks owned by public network operators, central/local governments, and major enterprises are individually configured and managed with service resiliency in each own protected sub-network. When such networks are cascaded, it is also important to provide a node resiliency between two protected sub-networks. However, the linear protection switching in packet transport networks, such as MPLS-TP and Carrier Ethernet, does not define a solution of dual node interconnection. Although Ethernet ring protection switching covers the dual node interconnection scheme, a large amount of duplicated data frames may be flooded when a failure occurs on an adjacent (sub) ring. In this paper, we suggest a dual node interconnection scheme with linear protection switching technology in multiple protected sub-networks. And we investigate how various protected sub-network combinations with a proposed linear or ring protection process impact the service resiliency of multiple protected sub-networks through extensive experiments on link and interconnected node failures.
The competition aspect of business has been transformed from competition among companies to competition among ecosystem, and has been grown to platform based business, which is defined as ecosystem among business. Coming to the spotlight with the advantages of platform business combined software and hardware like Apple, platform business have been emerging in many fields. In this research, we define platform and platform based business, and then review related researches. After this, we review four representative research methodologies which are Yin(2011)' s case analysis research, Eisenhardt(2007)' s case analysis research, Romano etc' s web based qualitative data analysis method(2003), and Creswll(2010)' s open coding technique. And then, we suggest this research' s natural methodology combined with the advantages of four research methodologies. Based on our research methodology, we choose three high commercialized categories, which are smartphone platform business, social platform business, and search engine platform business. And then, we choose seven companies in three categories with success cases & failure cases, and analysis each case in perspective of our research methodology. And then, we suggest critical success & failure elements. Based on our findings, we suggest three strategic elements for the longevity of platform based business. Finally, we suggest the limitations of our research and further research issues.

International technological cooperation between Korea and Germany is important from a strategic perspective, especially from the view of hub Asian countries around China and Japan. The Korean strategy has emphasized technological cooperation with Germany, an established hub for the EU. However, German and Korean technological cooperation requires supporting policy by the German government for further technological cooperation with Korea. Active support policies for international technical cooperation have been considered for implementation within the main countries. The German government has increasingly recognized Korea as an important partner country. This paper seeks to identify support policies for German small-to-medium size enterprises (SMEs) for greater technological cooperation. Study results found that German SMEs need to strengthen networks in Korea.
