A Study on the Phobia Treatment Using 3D Virtual Reality System (3D 가상환경시스템 이용한 공포증 치료에 대한 연구)

  • Virtual Reality(VR) is a new technology which makes humans communicate with computer. It allows the user to see, hear, feel and interact in a three-dimensional virtual world created graphically. In this paper, we introduced VR into psychotherapy area and developed VR system for the exposure therapy of acrophobia. Acrophobia is an abnormal fear of heights. Medications or cognitive-behavior methods have been mainly used as a treatment. Lately the virtual reality technology has been applied to that kind of anxiety disorders. A virtual environment provides patient with stimuli which arouses phobia, and exposing to that environment makes him having ability to over come the fear. In this study, the elevator stimulator that composed with a position sensor, head mount display, and audio system, is suggested. To illustrate the physiological difference between a person who has a feel of phobia and without phobia, heart rate was measured during experiment. And also measured a person's HR after the virtual reality training. In this study, we demonstrated the subjective effectiveness of virtual reality psychotherapy through the clinical experiment.

Visual-Attention Using Corner Feature Based SLAM in Indoor Environment (실내 환경에서 모서리 특징을 이용한 시각 집중 기반의 SLAM)

  • The landmark selection is crucial to successful perform in SLAM(Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) with a mono camera. Especially, in unknown environment, automatic landmark selection is needed since there is no advance information about landmark. In this paper, proposed visual attention system which modeled human's vision system will be used in order to select landmark automatically. The edge feature is one of the most important element for attention in previous visual attention system. However, when the edge feature is used in complicated indoor area, the response of complicated area disappears, and between flat surfaces are getting higher. Also, computation cost increases occurs due to the growth of the dimensionality since it uses the responses for 4 directions. This paper suggests to use a corner feature in order to solve or prevent the problems mentioned above. Using a corner feature can also increase the accuracy of data association by concentrating on area which is more complicated and informative in indoor environments. Finally, this paper will prove that visual attention system based on corner feature can be more effective in SLAM compared to previous method by experiment.

  • Needs for MG(Microgrid) development are increasing all over the world as a solution to the problems including the depletion problem of energy resources, the growing demand for electric power and the climatic and environmental change. Especially Photovoltaic power is one of the most general renewable energy resources. However there is a problem of the uniformity of power quality because the power generated from solar light is very sensitive to climate fluctuation (variation of insolation and duration of sunshine, etc). As a solution to the above problem, ESS(Energy Storage System) is considered generally, but it has some limitations. To solve this problem this paper suggests a hybrid estimation method of photovoltaic power generation according to two climatic factors, i.e. insolation and sunshine. This result seems to help design the appropriate capacity of ESS and estimate the proper switching time between DC and AC power in the premises power system and thus maintain the uniformity of power quality.

An Efficient Instruction Prefetching Scheme Based on the Page Access Information (페이지 접근 정보에 기반한 효율적인 명령어 캐쉬 선인출 기법)

  • In general, the hit ratio of the first level cache is one of the most important factors in determining the performance of computer systems. Prefetching from lower level memory structure is one of the most useful techniques for improving the hit ratio of the first level cache. In this paper, we propose a prefetch on continuous same page access (CSPA) scheme which improves the prefetch efficiency of the instruction cache and reduces prefetch cost at the same time. The proposed CSPA scheme traces the page addresses of executed instructions to count how many times the same memory page is accessed continuously. To increase the prefetch efficiency, the CSPA scheme initiates prefetch only if the number of accesses to the same page exceeds the threshold value. Generally, the size of a L1 cache block is smaller than that of a L2 cache block. Therefore, one L2 cache block contains a number of L1 cache blocks. To reduce the number of unnecessary accesses to the L2 cache due to prefetch, the CSPA scheme enables prefetch only when the missed L1 block and the prefetch L1 block are in the same L2 cache block, leading to reduced prefetch cost. According to our simulations, the proposed prefetching scheme improves the performance by up to 6.7%.

  • The IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit) which is the expensive equipment has been used as a special limited area, usually in measurement of posture of applying to the areas of ship, submarine, aircraft and military equipment application. However, in the current situation, MEMS AHRS technology can replace the high-priced IMU in MEMS AHRS selected application field. In this paper, wireless hull motion measurement system was suggested for measuring key elements of ship's movement such as rolling, pitching and yawing using gyro, acceleration and magnetic sensors of AHRS. In order to reduce the error such as instantaneous acceleration, effects and vibration of geomagnetic, we have adopted the sensors equipped with Kalman filtering. The Wireless hull motion measurement system using AHRS sensors was tested in actual ship and it could easily be applied in limited installation circumstances of the ship. In the future, this system can be useful in the navigation safety and marine accident analysis by using with ship equipment such as INS or VDR in the maritime.

Morphological Characteristics and Function of Hilum in Safflower Seed Germination (잇꽃 종자의 발아에서 제(Hilum)의 형태적 특성과 기능)

  • This research was carried out to clarify the germination characteristics with reference to hard seed coat in safflower. Morphologically, seed coat surface has hilum and micropyle which were evident during seed development stage. In the flower of developing seeds, the hilum area is connected with placenta of maternal tissue while the micropyle area is connected with the style of pistil. When the seeds imbibed, the hilum surface began to crack and the embryo protrudes through the hilum. To investigate the route for moisture absorption and gas exchange on the seed coat, the hilum and the micropyle were artificially sealed by paraffin. The seeds whose hilum were sealed could not germinate, which indicates that the exchange of moisture and oxygen takes place through hilum in safflower seeds. The germination was tested at $15^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $25^{\circ}C$ by three substrates with different moisture conditions; top of paper method (hilum submerged in water), between-paper method, and soil seeding. The germination percentages were 31.3% at $15^{\circ}C$, 15.7% at $20^{\circ}C$ and 6.0% at $25^{\circ}C$ in the top of paper method; and 45.5% at $15^{\circ}C$, 30.0% at $20^{\circ}C$ and 14.0% at $25^{\circ}C$ in the between-paper method; and 80.0% at $15^{\circ}C$, 77.0% at $20^{\circ}C$ and 78.0% at $25^{\circ}C$ in the soil seeding, respectively. When the internal structure of hilum was investigated through SEM, it was found out consisting of vascular bundle element. In conclusion, the hilum of safflower seed was closely related with water absorption and gas exchange during initial germination process.

Cache-Answerability of XML Queries in Regular Path Expressions on the Web (웹에서 정규경로 표현식을 포함한 XML 질의의 캐쉬를 이용한 처리)

  • 웹의 확산과 더불어 웹 페이지 검색의 성능 즉, 빠른 응답시간과 확장성(scalability)은 각 웹 사이트의 절대적 평가 기준이 되었다. 웹 옹용은 일반적으로 불특정 다수를 대상으로 하기 때문에 확장성 또한 주요 성능의 척도가 된다. 이와 같은 웹 사이트 성능을 담보하기 위한 대표적 요소기술이 웹 캐슁이다. 본 논문은 웹 상에서 XML 데이터베이스 기반의 웹 응용(XML database-backed web application)을 위한 응용서버의 XML 캐쉬를 이용하여 주어진 XML 질의를 변환, 처리하는 기법과 구현에 관한 것으로 XPath의 경로표현식 중 가장 중요한 세 가지 기능인 조건을 명시하는 필터 연산자, 부모-자식 관계를 나타내는 경로 연산자(/), 그리고 조상-후손 관계를 나타내는 경로 연산자(//)를 연구 범위로 하였다. [2]에서는 조상-후손 관계를 나타내는 경로 연산자(//)가 없는 경우에 경로표현식으로 주어진 XML 질의를 캐쉬를 이용하여 변환, 처리하는 알고리즘을 제시하였는데 본 논문에서는 [2]의 알고리즘을 확장하여 경로 연간자(//)가 지원되도록 하였다. 조상-후손 경로 연산자(//)로는 정규경로 표현식(regular path expression)을 나타낼 수 있는데 이는 스키마가 불확실한 반구조적 데이터인 XML 데이터에 대한 질의 표현에 유용하다. 제시된 알고리즘에서는 DTD를 이용하여 경로 정보를 얻어 처리함으로써 주어진 질의를 캐쉬와 하부 XML 소스에 대한 질의로 변환하였다. 이 알고리즘을 바탕으로 관계 DBMS를 이용하여 구현된 시스템으로 실제 웹 상에서 성능 실험을 수행하였다. 성능 실험 결과 정규 경로 표현식을 포함하는 XML 질의에 대해서도 웹에서 캐쉬를 이용한 처리가 효율적임을 확인하였다.키는데 목적이 있다.RED에 비해 향상된 성능을 보여주었다.웍스 네트워크상의 다양한 디바이스들간의 네트워크 다양화와 분산화 기능을 얻을 수 있었고, 기존의 고가의 해외 솔루션인 Echelon사의 LonMaker 소프트웨어를 사용하지 않고도 국내의 순수 솔루션인 리눅스 기반의 LonWare 3.0 다중 바인딩 기능을 통해 저 비용으로 홈 네트워크 구성 관리 서버 시스템 개발에 대한 비용을 줄일 수 있다. 기대된다.e 함량이 대체로 높게 나타났다. 점미가 수가용성분에서 goucose대비 용출함량이 고르게 나타나는 경향을 보였고 흑미는 알칼리가용분에서 glucose가 상당량(0.68%) 포함되고 있음을 보여주었고 arabinose(0.68%), xylose(0.05%)도 다른 종류에 비해서 다량 함유한 것으로 나타났다. 흑미는 총식이섬유 함량이 높고 pectic substances, hemicellulose, uronic acid 함량이 높아서 콜레스테롤 저하 등의 효과가 기대되며 고섬유식품으로서 조리 특성 연구가 필요한 것으로 사료된다.리하였다. 얻어진 소견(所見)은 다음과 같았다. 1. 모년령(母年齡), 임신회수(姙娠回數), 임신기간(姙娠其間), 출산시체중등(出産時體重等)의 제요인(諸要因)은 주산기사망(周産基死亡)에 대(對)하여 통계적(統計的)으로 유의(有意)한 영향을 미치고 있어 $25{\sim}29$세(歲)의 연령군에서, 2번째 임신과 2번째의 출산에서 그리고 만삭의 임신 기간에, 출산시체중(出産時體重) $3.50{\sim}3.99kg$사이의 아이에서 그 주산기사망률(周産基死亡率)이 각각 가장 낮았다. 2. 사산(死産)과 초생아사망(初生兒死亡)을 구분(區分)하여 고려해 볼때 사산(死産)은 모성(母性)의 임신력(

  • Various business model and computing environments are currently merged into web services and many web related application products are also develop. Most of IT enterprises in Korea use the Service-oriented architecture (SOA) whenever they develop the web applications. SOA is an approach to loosely coupled, protocol independent, standards-based distributed computing where software resources available on the network are considered as Services. SOA is believed to become the future enterprise technology solution that promises the agility and flexibility the business users have been looking for by leveraging the integration process through composition of the services spanning multiple enterprises. But, There are no specific development methodology to apply into SOA standard model until now. The developer uses the currently existing methodology to develop the application with SOA. The users have some limitations to use it. In this paper, we suggest a Frameworks for applying agile methodology into SOA to address the productivity and quality of small web related project. We design and implement a frameworks architecture for applying the agile method into SOA and describe the process model to implement it. We finally evaluate the frameworks with productivity, flexibility and maintainability.

Effect of Light Transmission on Composition and Somatic Cell count of Raw Milk (분광된 빛의 주사가 원유내 성분에 미치는 영향)

  • Measurement of compositions and somatic cells in raw milk by chemical methods usually requires a lot of time, skilled labor and expensive analytical equipments. Recently, near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS), which is a rapid, cost-effective and non-destructive technique, has been extensively used for safety and quality evaluation in the field of dairy products. However, less study has been performed to evaluate the effect of transmitted light on milk quality during NIRS analysis. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the changes in milk quality using transmitted light. Raw milk samples collected from dairy farm from Siga prefecture in Japan were analyzed for fat, protein, lactose, solids not fat, total solids, milk urea and citric acid using the Milko scan 4000. Somatic cells in raw milk samples were counted by the Fossomatic 5000. Transmittance spectra of 50 ml raw milk samples were obtained by the Lax-Cute lighter in the 400 nm or less, 689 nm, 773 nm, 900 nm and 979 nm. As a result, milk fat as well as somatic cell count was increased by 2.6% and 9.0%, respectively. The other compositions were, however, changed within the relative error of the measurement. Further studies are needed to apply raw milk quality evaluation using the UV band by accumulating more samples and more data.
