An Interactive Approach to Categorize Questions on the Internet BBSs (인터넷 게시판 질문 분류를 위한 인터랙티브 접근방법에 관한 연구)

  • In a traditional customer support environment, mainly call centers or service centers are responsible for receiving inquiries from their customers via telephone calls. Due to the rapid growth of Internet with its widespread acceptance and accessibility, means of communication with customers in the traditional customer support center, such as telephones, letters, and direct-visiting, have been replaced by e-mails and bulletin board systems (BBSs) using the Internet constantly. BBSs are basically question and answer systems, they require some lead time to get answer from administrator. To reduce lead time, BBSs enable remote customers or users to log on and tap into a knowledge database that is generally formatted in the form of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that provide answers and solutions to the common problems. And, many different types of the questions are mixed on the BBS. It is a burden to administrator. To build FAQs and to support BBS adminstrator, a supporting tool which is to categorize questions is helpful. In this research, we suggest an interactive question categorizing methodology which consists of steps to present question using keywords, identifying keywords' affinity, computing similarity among questions, and clustering questions. This methodology allows users to interact iteratively for clear manifestation of ambiguous questions. We also developed a prototype system, IQC (interactive question categorizer) and evaluated its performance using the comparison experiments with other systems. IQC is not a general purposed system, but it produces a good result in a given specific domain.

A Study on the Effective Guarantee of the Right to Portability of Personal Health Information (개인건강정보 이동권의 실효적 보장에 관한 연구)

  • As the amendment to the Personal Information Protection Act, which newly established the basis for the right to request transmission of personal information, was promulgated through the plenary session of the National Assembly, MyData, which was previously applied only to the financial sector, could spread to all fields. The right to request transmission of personal information is the right of the information subject to be guaranteed for the realization of MyData. However, since the right to request transmission of personal information stipulated in the Personal Information Protection Act is designed to be applied to all fields, not a special field such as the medical field, it has many shortcomings to act as a core basis for implementing MyData in Medicine. Based on this awareness of the problem, this paper compares and analyzes major legal trends related to the right to portability of personal health information at home and abroad, and examines the limitations of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act and Medical Act in realizing Medical MyData. Under the Personal Information Protection Act, the right to request transmission of personal information is insufficient to apply to the medical field, such as the scope of information to be transmitted, the transmission method, and the scope of the person obligated to perform the transmission, etc.. Regulations on the right to access medical information and transmission of medical records under the Medical Act also have limitations in implementing the full function of Medical My Data in that the target information and the leading institution are very limited. In order to overcome these limitations, this paper prepared a separate and independent special law to regulate matters related to the use and protection of personal health information as a measure to improve the legal system that can effectively guarantee the right to portability of personal health information, taking into account the specificity of the medical field. It was proposed to specifically regulate the contents of the movement and transmission system of personal health information.

Trend on Development of Low Molecular Weight Organosilicone Surfactants (Part 1) (저분자 유기실리콘 계면활성제의 개발 동향 (제1보))

  • Organosilicone-based surfactants consist of hydrophobic organosilicone groups coupled to hydrophilic polar groups. Organosilicone surfactants have been widely used in many industrial fields starting from polyurethane foam to construction materials, cosmetics, paints & inks, agrochemicals, etc., because of their low surface tension, lubricity, spreading, water repellency and thermal and chemical stability, resulted from the unique properties of organosilicone. Especially, trisiloxane surfactants, having low molecular weight organosilicone as hydrophobe, exhibit low surface tension and excellent wettability and spreadability, leading to their applications as super wetter/super spreader, but have the disadvantage of vulnerability to hydrolysis. A variety of trisiloxane surfactant structures are required to provide the functional improvement and the defect resolution for reflecting the necessities in the various applications. This review covers the synthetic schemes of reactive trisiloxanes as hydrophobic siloxane backbones, the main reaction schemes, such as hydrosilylation reaction, for coupling reactive trisiloxanes to hydrophilic groups, and the synthetic schemes of the main trisiloxane surfactants including polyether-, carbohydrate-, gemini-, bolaform-, double trisiloxane-type surfactants.

An Introductory Study for Developing the Urban Street Design Manual (도시부 도로의 구조시설.기준 작성 기초 연구 - 횡단구성을 중심으로 -)

  • Urbanization of Korea reaches up to 90% in the year 2003. What that means is that 90% of population live in the city areas. This phenomenon emphasizes importances of urban streets where people feel accessibility and level of environmental amenity, enjoy recreational activity, and live for a life. However, the current Korean manual for designing road is not enough to accomodate various activities of urban streets since its target is basically rural roads. This study proposes the necessity of a new design manual of urban streets via analyzing the practices of the development countries, and aims to recommend what should be prepared and how those are defined for developing a design manual of urban streets in Korea. It is inevitable that the design manual of urban streets be based on the flexibility and diversity. The manual should be made through consensus among the related stakeholders such as designers, residents and officials. And it also should reflect the characteristics of each city. It is somehow true that without the manual, designing of urban streets can be done although it is not fully acceptable. This does not mean that the necessity of the manual can be ignored. Rather, we should remember that the related stakeholders may not want to reveal what are hidden in developing the design manual of urban streets. What are hidden is that developing the design manual of urban streets is difficult problem to solve. It is a wish that this study triggers the on-going research and interests on developing the design manual of urban streets.

Development of Sorption Database (KAERI-SDB) for the Safety Assessment of Radioactive Waste Disposal (방사성폐기물 처분안전성 평가 자료 제공을 위한 핵종 수착 데이터베이스(KAERI-SDB) 개발)

  • Radionuclide sorption data is necessary for the safety assessment of radioactive waste disposal. However the use of sorption database is often limited due to the accessability. A web-based sorption database program named KAERI-SDB has been developed to provide information on the sorption of radionuclides onto geological media as a function of geochemical conditions. The development of KAERI-SDB was achieved by improving the performance of pre-existing sorption database program (SDB-21C) developed in 1998 and considering user's requirements. KAERI-SDB is designed that users can access it by using a web browser. Main functions of KAERI-SDB include (1) log-in/member join, (2) search and store of sorption data, and (3) chart expression of search results. It is expected that KAERI-SDB could be widely utilized in the safety assessment of radioactive waste disposal by enhancing the accessibility to users who wants to use sorption data. Moreover, KAERI-SDB opened to public would also improve the reliability and public acceptance on the radioactive waste disposal programs.

  • As reusability becomes recognized more importantly, with the introduction of ObjectOriented Programming Languages, developers not only want to reduce development duration, but also to develop a proper system robustly and safely by renovating the Hot Spot in order to reuse the existing framework. When we perform these works, we need the development environment which is the Rapid Application Development tool, and the RAD tools provide us with the convenient development environment. The need of RAD tools is recognized by every Object-Oriented programmer, and many business enterprises are developing them. In this paper, we will present a design and implementation of module-based modeler as a method for developing technique to constmct user-driven Intranet environment for the generation of the program based on the framework. The framework modeler used Java language that is independent on platform, and applied the technique of OMT editor that provides the UML notation partially. Additionally, The modeler also includes the notations that are not supported in OMT editor. In addition to this characteristic, it is structured to develop system consistently with applying the Agent pattern, which is a design pattern suggested by ourselves, to send messages occurred between various Views. The existing MVC(Model-View-Controller) architecture does not have this function. Thus, this tool has a flexibility when user's requirements are changed, or functions are extended.

Personalized Service Recommendation for Mobile Edge Computing Environment (모바일 엣지 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 개인화 서비스 추천)

  • Mobile Edge Computing(MEC) is a emerging technology to cope with mobile traffic explosion and to provide a variety of services having specific requirements by means of running some functions at mobile edge nodes directly. For instance, caching function can be executed in order to offload mobile traffics, and safety services using real time video analytics can be delivered to users. So far, a myriad of methods and architectures for personalized service recommendation have been proposed, but there is no study on the subject which takes unique characteristics of mobile edge computing into account. To provide personalized services, acquiring users' context is of great significance. If the conventional personalized service model, which is server-side oriented, is applied to the mobile edge computing scheme, it may cause context isolation and privacy issues more severely. There are some advantages at mobile edge node with respect to context acquisition. Another notable characteristic at MEC scheme is that interaction between users and applications is very dynamic due to temporal relation. This paper proposes the local service recommendation platform architecture which encompasses these characteristics, and also discusses the personalized service recommendation mechanism to be able to mitigate context isolation problem and privacy issues.

Development of the Integrated Management System of the Control Points (기준점 통합관리시스템 개발)

  • Control stations managed by national and local governmes are associated with other survey work and constructing geography information and they are important assets in the national level as the positional standard of the country. Since these control points are managed as some type of register and the control points could not be easily updated due to the loss of control stations from construction work or urban development. Therefore, the users could not understand the present situation of the changed control stations. In this background, the aim of this study was to develop control station management system which the managers can use to efficiently maintain control points and to support the usage of the survey control points. For developing this system, we have designed input, update, network, analysis and statistic functions, and have constructed the system using Mapobject as main engine with other languages such as Visual C++ and Visual Basic. The graphic data used in this system are 1/5,000 digital map and digital cadastral map, and the attribute data of each control station are point name, map tile name, longitude and latitude coordinates, TM coordinates, surveying data with the format of year-month-day and control situation photos and so on. In the result of constructing this control station management system, we could achieve integrated management of graphic, attribute and positioning information of each control station.

  • It is necessary for us to undergo trial and error for eliciting the rational requirement of the acquisition of weapon systems, but the M&S is general approach due to costs and risk of the development. In addition to the acquisition of weapon systems, M&S is extensively employed in the analysis and the training of developed weapon systems. The ADD (Agency for Defense Development) has developed DEVS integrated development environment (QUEST) that provides M&S general ground technique composed of simulation model implementation services, simulation result analysis services, and simulation interface services. This paper describes the interface architecture and the implementation of torpedo target detection section interface simulation system using QUEST. The torpedo target detection section interface simulation system is composed of torpedo target detection section which calculates a result of target detection and the QUEST scenario generator which provides simulation scenario for performance test of the torpedo target detection section. The interface architecture of torpedo target detection section interface simulation system is designed to verify the interface and performance of the torpedo target detection section by linking with the QUEST scenario generator.
