This study was conducted to efficiently separate the Ig from Korean native cattle colostrum and to utilize them as an immunogen for the production of antibodies aginst rabbit. The results obtained were as follows : 1. About 84% of Ig G could be separated from Korean native cattle colostrum by·gel filtration using Superose 12 column on HPLC. The separation profile of Korean native cattle colostral immunoglobulin was similar that of Holstein colostral Ig. 2. Separation of Korean native cattle colostral Ig by anion exchange chromatography using Mono Q column on HPLC was poor resolution chromatographic pattern. 3. Hi-Trap Protein G column showed better results than the Protein A Sepharose CL-4B column in the Ig G binding capacity from Korean native cattle colostral Ig. 4. Protein G Sepharose Fast Flow system resulted in higher Ig g binding capacity as the industrial size scale-up approach. 5. Sufficient titer reaction of antibody to Korean native cattle colostral Ig G was confirmed by ELISA.

A 6-month-old intact female, domestic short hair cat was presented with dyspnea and anorexia for 2 days. Physical examination revealed muffled heart sound with labored breaths. Hyperproteinemia and hyperglobulinemia with polyclonal gammapathy was revealed. Pleural effusion was non-septic exudates, it also had hyperglobulinemia with decreased albumin: globuline ration. In addition, effusion RT-PCR for feline coronavirus was positive in this cat. Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) was strongly suspected and aggressive treatments with human interferon-alpha, pentoxifylline, and glucocorticoids were initiated. The cat remained healthy without recurrence of pleural effusion during 5 months follow-up periods. To the author's knowledge, this is the first case report describing successful management of FIP with human interferon-alpha and pentoxifylline in Korea.

인삼, 들깨 기름, 칼슘 및 마그네슘이 함유되어 있는 식이로 사육한 토끼의 혈장 콜레스테롤과 HMG-CoA reductase의 활성을 조사하였다. 간에 포함되어 있는 HMG-CoA reductase의 활성은 인삼과 들깨 기름 및 마그네슘 첨가 식이군에 있어서 증가되었으며 혈장 콜레스테롤의 농도는 감소되었다. 혈장 LDL-콜레스테롤은 대조군보다 감소하였으나 HDL-콜레스테롤은 증가되었다. 또한 베타 글로블린의 분포도 인삼과 마그네슘 및 들깨 기름을 첨가 급여한 실험군에 있어서 가장 낮았으며, ${\alpha}$-2-글로블린은 대조군에 비하여 가장 높은 값을 보였다. 전해질은 $K^+$은 인삼 첨가로 감소 되었으나 $Na^+$은 증가되었다. 혈장 마그네슘의 농도는 인삼의 첨가로 변화가 없었지만 칼슘과 들깨 기름 및 인삼 첨가식이로 마그네슘의 농도가 더 증가되었다. 혈장 칼슘의 농도는 마그네슘과 인삼을 첨가한 식이군에 있어서 감소하였다.

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) infusion is an effective therapy for acute Kawasaki disease (KD). Nonetheless, approximately 10 percent to 20 percent of patients have persistent or recrudescent fever despite IVIG treatment, leading to a higher risk for coronary artery aneurysms (CAA). This unresponsiveness may pose a challenge to the clinicians. Tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ levels are elevated in the acute phase of the disease, especially in patients who develop CAA. We report a 10-month-old male with KD who failed to respond to multiple doses of IVIG and methylprednisolone and who then was treated with infliximab (5 mg/kg single dose). After infliximab treatment, he became afebrile with normalization of inflammatory markers and no further progression of CAA.

This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of immune function and inflammatory changes for elderly women, by having them to participate in line dance program. For this purpose, 18 elderly women in their 60s to 70s, living in Y city were selected, and 9 of the participants were randomly assigned to participate in the line dance program for 12-weeks (line dance exercise group), while the other 9 participants were assigned to carry out their daily lives without participating in certain physical activity (control group) for the same period. The subjects' immune function and inflammation were measured using SPSS 24.0 for datafication, and the average and two-way ANOVA analysis were conducted. The result indicates the immunoglobulin, IgA, has increased, but not dramatically. The level of IgG(p<.05), and IgM(p<.05) increase were detected from the line dance exercise group, but not so much from the control group. Inflammation indicator, the CRP(p<.05), were significantly reduced from the line dance exercise group, but not much for the control group. According to the collected data, line dance for the elderly women can be considered as an effective exercise program, and the result shows that inflammation is reduced and immune function is improved. It also implies the needs of active physical activity arbitration to keep the elderly women's health and to prevent the chronic disease in the future.
