An Adaptive Switching Mechanism for Three-Dimensional Hybrid Cameras (하이브리드 입체 카메라의 적응적인 스위칭 메커니즘)

  • Recently, various types of three-dimensional cameras have been used to analyze surrounding environments. In this paper, we suggest a mechanism of adaptively switching active and passive cameras of hybrid cameras, which can extract 3D image information more accurately. The suggested method first obtains brightness and texture features representing the environment from input images. It then adaptively selects active and passive cameras by generating rules that reflect the extracted features. In experimental results, we show that a hybrid 3D camera consisting of passive and active cameras is set up and the proposed method can effectively choose appropriate cameras in the hybrid camera and make it possible to extract three dimensional information more accurately.

  • Object-oriented frameworks need to be systematically tested because they are reused in developing many applications software. They also need additional testing whenever they are extended for reuse. Frameworks, however, have properties that make it difficult to control and observe the testing of the parts that were modified and extended. In this paper, we describe the method of embedding test components as BIT(Built-In Test) into the framework's hot spots in order to efficiently detect the faults through testing that occurred while implementing application programs by modifying and extending the framework. The test components embedded into a framework make it easy to control and observe testing the framework, and thereby improve the testability of frameworks. Test components designed by the method proposed in this paper can be dynamically attached and detached to/from hot spots of a framework without changes or intervention to the framework code.

Real-time Face Detection and Verification Method using PCA and LDA (PCA와 LDA를 이용한 실시간 얼굴 검출 및 검증 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new face detection method for real-time applications. It is based on the template-matching and appearance-based method. At first, we apply Min-max normalization with histogram equalization to the input image according to the variation of intensity. By applying the PCA transform to both the input image and template, PC components are obtained and they are applied to the LDA transform. Then, we estimate the distances between the input image and template, and we select one region which has the smallest distance. SVM is used for final decision whether the candidate face region is a real face or not. Since we detect a face region not the full region but within the $\pm$12 search window, our method shows a good speed and detection rate. Through the experiments with 6 category input videos, our algorithm shows the better performance than the existing methods that use only the PCA transform. and the PCA and LDA transform.

Mosaic Detection Based on Edge Projection in Digital Video (비디오 데이터에서 에지 프로젝션 기반의 모자이크 검출)

  • In general, mosaic blocks are used to hide some specified areas, such as human faces and disgusting objects, in an input image when images are uploaded on a web-site or blog. This paper proposes a new algorithm for robustly detecting grid mosaic areas in an image based on the edge projection. The proposed algorithm first extracts the Canny edges from an input image. The algorithm then detects the candidate mosaic blocks based on horizontal and vertical edge projection. Subsequently, the algorithm obtains real mosaic areas from the candidate areas by eliminating the non-mosaic candidate regions through geometric features, such as size and compactness. The experimental results showed that the suggested algorithm detects mosaic areas in images more accurately than other existing methods. The suggested mosaic detection approach is expected to be utilized usefully in a variety of multimedia-related real application areas.

  • In the general transmission power control model that is used for wearable sensor systems, if RSSI value gets out of the Target RSSI Margin, then the sink node finds new transmission power by using TPC(Transmission Power Control) Algorithm. At this time, the sink node sends the control packet to the sensor node for delivering the newly calculated transmission power. However, when the wireless network channel condition is poor, even it is consuming a lot of control packets, the sink node could not find an appropriate transmission power so it only waste of energy. Therefore, we proposed a new control packet transmission decision method that the sink node changes the transmission power when the wireless network channel condition is stabilized. It makes waste of energy decline. In this paper, we apply control packet transmission decision method to Binary TPC algorithms and analyze the results to evaluate the proposed method. We propose three methods that judge the state of wireless network channel. We experiment that methods and analysis the results.

  • Owing to increase of the large-scaled, high-raised and complexed building construction, the escape design of the building became very important issue to insure the safety of occupant. Specially, it is demanded to have building escape regulation considering for inconvenient movers such as disables elders pregnant women. However, building regulations for inconvenient movers are divided into "Regulation of Escape and Fire-prevention of Building" and "Act on the Promotion and Guarantee of Access for the Disabled, the Aged and Pregnant Women to Facilities and Information". But, for the escape security of inconvenient movers, the connection of each regulation are necessary. So this study suggested the improvement direction of the building escape regulation considering inconvenient movers through the compared analysis on the "Regulation of Escape and Fire-prevention of Building" and "Act on the Promotion and Guarantee of Access for the Disabled, the Aged and Pregnant Women to Facilities and Information".

  • This study is aimed at looking into the PR method of cadastral re-survey, and at looking for the reason of the delay of cadastral re-survey project. We thought that the reason why the cadastral re-survey project was delayed was a lack of a national agreement on it owing to an insufficient PR. So, to solve this question, we proposed an alternative plan for the PR method of cadastral re-survey, using Hutton's PR model. As a result of a study, a total of 31 PR methods was made which were apt for every practical PR on the basis of 6 three-dimensional models of PR practice. But, some of Hutton's PR models proved to be unfit for the cadastral re-survey project. Therefore, we formed and proposed a new model to apt for the cadastral re-survey project. The result of this study is expected to be of help in getting a foundation to form a national agreement on the quick operation of a upcoming cadastral re-survey project.

  • Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton were the most popular contemporary guitarists. So we can find they have something in common in many ways. Also their abundant experiences and know-how made their own music into Fusion Jazz. They always tried to make new approach specializing Fusion Jazz genre, which makes us realize that they are the front runners of Contemporary Jazz mixing music with the situation of the time. This paper analyzes harmonic parts and arranged parts these two guitarists show and studies the musical meaning and characteristics their representative albums have. Also this paper focuses on some developments and growth by examining the relationship between these two guitarists.

Enhancement of a Choroid Vessel Using Conditional Erosion in ICGA Image (형광안저 조영영상에서 선택적 영역침식을 이용한 맥락막혈관영상 향상)

  • In this paper, we proposed new method to enhance choroidal vessels by suppressing retina vessels brightness. It is well-known that CNV(choroidal neovascularization) is related with sight loss. The main feature of CNV is the occurrence of new vessels in choroid. Unfortunately, because retina vessels brightness is stronger than choroidal vessels brightness in ICGA(indocynanine green angiography) image, so that the choroidal vessels were hardly recognized. Therefore, for correct diagnosis, the choroidal vessels must be enhanced in ICGA image. The proposed enhancement method consists of 3 strategies. First, the retina vessels were detected by multi scale enhancement technique, hysteresis thresholding, KNN(Kth-nearest neighbor) classification method. And then, a retina vessel mask was generated from detection result. Next, the brightness of retina vessels was suppressed by the proposed conditional region erosion method and mask region until the mask region was vanished. Finally, the brightness of choroidal vessel was enhanced on processed image. Through an experiment, we had confirmed that the proposed method was robust and efficient.

A Study on the Allowances of Aircraft Landing Distance (항공기 착륙거리의 여유분 산정에 관한 연구)

  • Among the phases of flight operations pilots feel much pressure in landing segment. There is a number of factors affecting landing safety while pilots reduce aircraft speeds and make a touchdown and stop completely. If runway length is sufficient for landing, there maybe is no problem. But it is not the case all the time. So it is necessary to confirm whether landing performance is within limits or not. Required landing distance is actual landing distance demonstrated by flight test pilot plus allowances for average airline pilots. FAR(Federal Aviation Regulations) AFM certification is based upon manual landing for dry and wet runway. Other runway conditions are not the certification basis. JAR dictates even contaminated/slippery runway is included by prescribed allowances. Automatic landing is not certification basis, so actual landing distances are provided. In this paper I would like to analyze distance allowances included in each type of runway condition. In addition there is no regulation about allowances for specific runway condition, I would suggest adequate allowances for that case.
