Effects of Cucumber Beverage Intake on Fluid-Regulating Hormones and CRP in Amateur Marathoners (마라톤 동호인의 오이음료 섭취가 체액조절호르몬과 C-반응단백에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cucumber beverage intake on fluid-regulating hormones and CRP in amateur marathoners between the ages of 47~49. Among research subjects, 8 male middle-aged marathoners who have completed the full marathon course over 5 times and who have run for over 50 months were selected. In two marathon races, they received firstly water and secondly cucumber beverage: 10 ml before the race, 50 ml every 5 km, and 200 ml after the race, adding up to 10 drinks and 710 ml in total amount of beverage taken. For statistics, one-way ANOVA within the group was conducted through SPSS 12.0; for post-examination, Duncan was utilized; and for inter-group examination, an independent t-test was used. Before, right after, and after the marathon, the cucumber beverage intake group had a significantly decreased serum ADH concentration compared to the water intake group. Both the cucumber beverage and water intake groups had significantly increased serum rennin levels before, right after, and after the marathon. Both the cucumber beverage and water intake groups had significantly increased aldosterone before, right after, and after the marathon. CRP levels didn't show change. In conclusion, intake of cucumber beverage during a marathon race was found to help with fluid-regulating hormones. This research has attempted to continue to study the influence on hormones that control body fluids.

COMPARISON OF SHAPING ABILITY OF ROTARY Ni-Ti FILE SYSTEMS USED BY UNDERGRADUATES (학생들이 사용한 엔진 구동형 Ni-Ti file systems의 근관 성형 효율 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the shaping ability of three Ni-Ti file systems used by dental students or the experts and consequently to aid in choosing a proper systems for educational courses of dental students and beginners. Fifty students and ten dentists who have clinical experience over two years prepared 180 simulated root canals in resin blocks with three Ni-Ti systems; $ProFile^{(R)}\;(PF),\;HeroShaper^{(R)}\;(HS),\;K3^{TM}\;(K3)$. After preparation, the Ni-Ti files were evaluated for distortion and canal preparation time was recorded. The images of pre- and post-instrumented canals were scanned and superimposed. Amounts of increased canal widths, deviation, and centering ratio were calculated at apical 1, 3 and 5 mm levels and statistical analysis was performed The results were as follows : 1. HS showed the shortest preparation time and instrumented canal width in K3 was significantly larger than other groups (P<0.05). 2. At 1 and 3mm levels, all groups had outward deviation. In student group, at the 1mm level, PF had the least deviation (P<0.05). 3. In the centering ratio, the PF had the best centering ability compared to the others at 5mm level. At 1 and 3mm levels, HS and PF had better abilities than K3. Student group had better ratio than the expert at 3mm level with PF (P<0.05). Based on the results, it is surmised that the $ProFile^{(R)}$ is the safest and most ideal instrument for students and beginners.

  • 운항승무원 갈등에 의한 항공기 사고사례에서 볼 수 있듯이, 기장과 부기장 간 갈등이 주요원인이 되어 항공기가 추락하는 등 안전사고가 발생하고 있다. 갈등관련 기장 및 부기장 인터뷰 결과, 기장 승급 기준 불투명, 무리한 비행스케줄에 따른 불만, 대립적인 노사문제, 기장의 권위주의, 군 경력자와 민간비행훈련원 출신 간에 갈등, 격무와 스트레스 등이 주요 갈등원인 이었다. 항공안전관리를 위해서는 갈등원인을 정확히 진단하여 부정적인 갈등이 표출되기 전에 해소시켜야 한다. 또한 건전한 조직문화를 위해서 상호신뢰와 CRM을 바탕으로 한 안전문화를 정착시킬 수 있도록 갈등관리에 대한 지속적인 연구 및 해소대책 강구가 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 갈등에 의한 항공기 사고사례와 운항승무원 갈등원인을 시스템적, 조직 문화적, CRM 적 측면에서 분석하여 각 분야별로 갈등해소 방안을 제시하였다.

Analysis of Influencing Factors Related to Health Promotion Behavior in Hospital Radiological Technologists (종합병원 방사선사의 건강증진행위 관련요인 분석)

  • Purposes : The purpose of this study was to analyze factors that could affect health of radiological technologists, which is useful for health care and development of programs for health promotion. Methods : Subjects were 234 of radiological technologists who work in general hospitals. Some questionnaires were made about perceptions of health condition and promotional behavior of health for this study. The questionnaires of health perception were 20 items that consist of the present condition of health, health concern and sensitivity. The reliability was sufficient(Cronbach's $\alpha=0.79$). The other questionnaires about health promotion behavior were 47 items that consist of self-realization, health responsibility, exercise, nutrition, personal relationships, and stress management. The results turned out to bewas sufficient (Cronbach's $\alpha=0.93$). Every data was treated statistically, comparison of average(t-test, ANOVA), correlation, and multiple regression. Results : Related factors to health promotion behavior were age, marriage, salary, class of one's position, career, employment, and religion, in general features. In health life habit, related factors were smoke and exercise. Results of health promotion behavior was 2.90 of mean score, 0.37 of standard deviation. Correlations between factors of health perception and health promotion behavior was positive(p<0.01). Health promotion behavior were affected by sensitivity, presents condition of health, exercise, smoke, career. Sensitivity was the most affectable variable, which means that promotional behavior score became higher and higher as the score of sensitivity and present condition were increased. In addition, persons who exercise regularly, had been smoked, and has higher career showed higher score of promotional behavior. Conclusion : Radiological technologists have to keep their health, trying not to infected by a disease. Most of all, no smoking and regular exercise are the most important thing to all of members.

Staffs' Attitudes and Opinions toward Psychiatry in a Psychiatric Hospital (일 정신병원 직원의 정신과에 대한 인식과 태도)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the staffs' attitudes and opinions toward psychiatry in a hospital. The results of the investigation were taken as a basic data of the education programs of persons who worked in a hospital and community residents. Methods : The subjects of this study were persons who worked in a hospital. The tool used in this study was Attitudes and Opinions toward Psychiatry. Sixty-one persons were studied. Statistically one-way ANOVA or t-test were used. Results : Internal consistency was high, measuring 0.80 for the 26 items. Generally, hospital staffs have positive attitude toward psychiatry. Direct patient contact group scored more higher than indirect contact group, except 'overall merits of the field of psychiatry' and 'efficacy' factor. In factor 'overall merits of the field of psychiatry', and factor 'efficacy' female scored more higher than male averagely. In factor 'role definition and functioning of psychiatrists', 'possible abuses and social criticisms', and 'career and personal reward', direct patient contact group scored more higher than indirect contact group averagely. Conclusion This study results support the hypothesis that the direct patient contact group have more positive attitude toward psychiatry than the other group. It will be necessary to educate for a psychiatric hospital staffs and community residents on psychiatry.

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 암 간호정보체계에 사용될 한국 6대 암 환자의 핵심간호진단을 결정하기 위해 수행되었다. 핵심간호진단 은 6대 암, 각 환자 군의 간호를 위해 가장 자주 혹은 많이 사용되는 일정의 간호진단 세트로 정의된다. 본 연구에서 6대 암 환자의 핵심간호진단을 결정하고자 하는 가장 큰 목적은 간호진단 과정에서의 편리성을 높임으로써 앞으로 개발될 암 간호정보체계의 유용성과 사용가능성을 높이기 위함이다. 연구방법: 핵심간호진단은 조사연구를 통해 결정하였으며, 결정된 진단들은 문헌고찰과 환자기록 분석을 통해 그 타당도를 확인하였다. 환자기록 분석은 특히 조사연구 결과의 타당도를 확인하기 위해 사용되었다. 조사연구에 사용된 도구 및 환자기록에 나타난 간호진단 혹은 간호문제의 교차분석을 위해서는 NANDA Taxonomy II에 포함된 간호진단이 사용되었다. 219명의 경력간호사가 조사연구에 참여하였으며, 72개의 환자기록이 분석되었다. 핵심간호진단은 암 간호 정보체계의 언어개발을 위해 구성된 전문가 집단에 의해 조사연구 참여자의 20% 이상이 선택한 NANDA 간호진단으로 정하였다. 연구결과: 16개 ${\sim}$ 20개의 NANDA 간호진단이 한국 6대 암, 각 환자군의 핵심간호진단으로 선정되었다. 핵심간호진단 중 '급성통증', '만성통증', '불안', '감염가능성', '피로' 등이 6대 암 환자 군에 모두 포함되었다. 결론: 핵심간호진단의 타당도는 환자기록 분석과 문헌고찰을 통해 확인되었다. 이들 핵심진단은 암 간호정보체계에 사용되어 간호진단 적용을 촉진함으로써 암 환자 간호의 질 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Perception of Risk and Using Status of Hand-Held Dental X-Ray Unit (이동형 치과 X선 발생장치 사용실태와 위험지각)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze perception of risk and using status of hand-held dental x-ray unit among dental hygienists in metropolitan area. This research was based on perception of risk and using status of hand-held dental x-ray unit survey in 257 dental hygienists from July 7 to 31, 2014. Data were analyzed with t-test, one way ANOVA, and multivariable logistic regression analysis using SPSS Windows 21.0 program and significance level was set at p<0.05. The hand-held dental x-ray unit to cover all type patients was 24.8%. The 62.6% of patients and 81.3% of operator doesn't wear lead apron, the experience rate of radiation education was 40.1%. The average of risk perception was 3.08 points. The associated factors of risk perception were career, number of radiation exposure per day, and possession of fixed x-ray unit. The increased of accumulated dose when the occupationally exposed work continues, it is necessary to effort of defense against dental radiation.

Distribution and clinical features of patients with degenerative change of the mandibular condyle (측두하악장애 환자 중 하악과두의 퇴행성 골 변화를 보이는 환자의 분포 및 임상적 특징)

  • Objective: This study was carried out to evaluate the distribution and clinical features of patients with degenerative change of the mandibular condyle. Methods: Six thousand and seventy patients with TMD (temporomandibular cisorder) were selected for this study, who had complete initial clinical records and radiographs. Panorama and TMJ panorama radiographs were used to screen the degenerative change in the condyle, and the patients were divided into DJD (degenerative joint disease) and non-DJD groups. Results: The distribution. and clinical features of the two groups were compared. Out of the total number of patients, 31.7% were in the DJD group, and 68.3% were in the non-DJD group. The portion of females was larger in the DJD group (80.8%) than in the non-DJD group (67.5%), and the DJD group had high prevalence in the second and third decades. Lack of incisal contact, retrusive chin, facial asymmetry, and mouth opening limitation were the chief complaints of the patients who had positive relation to DJD. Conclusion: Patients with an orthodontic treatment history, CO-CR discrepancy and crepitation were at possible risk of having DJD.

A Field Experiments Study for Coaching Effects Verification: Relation between Coaching and Self-esteem, Career Decision Making Self-efficacy, and Career Preparation Behavior (코칭 효과 검증을 위한 현장실험연구: 코칭과 자아존중감, 진로결정자기효능감 및 진로준비행동 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between coaching and self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior through field experiments. To accomplish the purpose of the study, as the purposeful sampling was selected 50 male university students in Chungnam, South Korea. This experimental design, 25 university students were assigned to an experimental group, and another 25 university students were assigned to a control group. The experimental group had four sessions of coaching program. The control group did not have any coaching sessions. After four coaching sessions, questionnaires were administrated again. To conduct ANCOVA, pre-measurement scores for each dependent variable were included as covariates and post-measurement scores were included as dependent variables. The result proved the effect of coaching on self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior. As the results of analysis, for control group, there was no difference between before and after measurement for each dependent variable. However, there was statistically significant difference between before and after measurement for each dependent variable in experimental group. This result confirmed that coaching caused increase in the level of self-esteem, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career preparation behavior. The result like this has a significance to be able to be used as a basic data that used efficiently in the field of career guidance and HRD for university student.

Job Satisfaction and Its Related Factors among 119 Rescue Workers (119 구급대원의 직무만족도와 그의 관련요인)

  • This study examined the level of job satisfaction of rescue workers in accordance with the sociodemographic and health related characteristics, as well as job-related factors. Moreover, this study aimed to know the relationship between job satisfaction and violence experience, job stress, and burn-out. A total of 1,240 rescue workers, who works in 14 fire stations across the country, were surveyed. The survey was conducted by self-administered questionnaires during the period between March 1st and April 30, 2016. As a result, the score of job satisfaction according to the sociodemographic and health related characteristics were significantly lower in the younger-aged group, unmarried group, no-regular exercise group, and poor group of subjective sleep evaluation, unhealthy group of subjective health status than their respective counterparts. From the perspective of job-related characteristics, the job satisfaction scores were significantly lower in the groups of lower rank, lower job career, lower monthly income, hard group of physical burden of work, dissatisfaction group of sense of satisfaction in work, unfit group of the job, without group of consider quitting the job than their respective counterparts. The score of job satisfaction, in accordance with violence experience, job stress, and burn-out were significantly lower in groups with higher scores of violence experience, job stress, and burn-out. In a logistic regression analysis, the adjusted odds ratio of the low-risk job satisfaction were significantly increased in the very high group than in the low group of violence experience, in middle, high and very high group than in low group of job stress, in very high group than in low group of burn-out. The results suggest that the job satisfaction of rescue workers is significantly influenced by various factors, including socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behaviors, job-related characteristics, violence experience, job stress, and burn-out.
