  • 이진 출력 기기에서 연속 계조의 영상을 받아들여 이진값으로 출력하는 이진화 알고리즘 중한 예로 마스킹(masking) 방법이 있으며, 마스크 방식의 단점을 보완하였다. 동일한 마스크의 반복적인 사용으로 인하여 영상의 부분적인 특성을 잘 표현해 주지 못하는 마스크들의 단정을 보완하기 위해서 국부 적응 임계값과 테이블 방식의 적응 파라메타를 제안하였으며, 결과적으로 시각적으로 중요한 경계성분을 강조와 국부 처리시 계조 표현력이 부족한 배경영역도 충분히 표현할 수 있었다.

  • In image data, noise occurs due to various external factors in the process of obtaining and transmitting. There are various types of noise according to the cause and form and research to remove this noise is being continued. Therefore the study suggested a way to filter to restore images damaged by salt and pepper noise which preserves non-noise signal and processes noise signal by expanding mask size according to the local mask noise density. In addition, as an objective evaluation standard of improvements, the study used PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) to compare with previous methods.

  • Recently, the image processing technologies using the public media such as the film, TV, camera and advertisement have been rapidly developed. However, the deterioration occurs with the image in the process of data processing, transmission and storage, and the typical cause of such deterioration is the salt and pepper noise. Typical filters to remove the salt and pepper noise include CWMF(center weighted median filter) and AMF(adaptive median filter) but such filters bring more or less insufficient characteristics of noise removal and visual error as the noise density gets higher. Thus, this paper proposed the median filter which applied the local mask segmented to 4 areas in order to remove the salt and pepper noise effectively and used PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) as a criterion of judgment.

  • Noise occurs in the process of obtaining, transmission, and processing in image processing systems and these noises lower the resolution of image and cause visual errors. Currently, a representative filter to remove salt and pepper noise is SMF(standard median filter) but it is inadequate in preserving edge as the noise field expands. Therefore, for salt and pepper noise enviroment, the study suggested and algorithm that are places with original pixel when the central pixel is non-noise and process by applying weighted value on areas with less local mask pixel changes when there is noise.

  • In the process of obtaining and transmitting image, there is degradation of image due to various noise, and there have been many active studies ongoing to remove the noise added on the images. This thesis has proposed a switching filter processing by the types of noise in order to remove the complex noise added on images. When the center value of local mask is damaged by AWGN based on the noise judgment, the threshold value is applied on standard deviation of local mask to process by applying different weight of weighted mask, and if the image is damaged by the salt and pepper noise, the local mask is subdivided into 4 directions, and processed by applying cubic spine interpolation in the direction with the least slat and pepper noise. Also, in order to evaluate the performance of proposed filter algorithm, the study conducted comparison among the existing methods and proposed filter using PSNR.

  • In this paper, we proposed a nonlinear synthesis filter for noise reduction to reduce the effects of Gaussian noise and impulse noise. When the centralization of the local mask is judged to be Gaussian noise by the noise judgment, the weight value of the weight filter are applied differently according to the spatial weight filter and the pixel change by using the sample variance in the local mask. And if it is determined as the impulse noise, we proposed an algorithm that applies different weights of local histogram weight filter and standard median filter according to noise density of mask. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed filter algorithm, we used PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio) and compared existing methods and proposed filter algorithm in the mixed noise environment with Gaussian noise, impulsive noise, and two noises mixed.

  • Edge detection is one of image processing techniques applied for a variety of purposes in a number of areas and it is used as a necessary pretreatment process in most applications. Detect this edge has been conducted in various fields at domestic and international. In the conventional edge detection methods, there are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts and LoG, etc using a fixed weights mask. Since conventional edge detection methods apply the images to the fixed weights mask, the edge detection characteristics appear somewhat insufficient. Therefore in this study, to complement this, preprocessing using gray-level transformation function and algorithm finding final edge using maximum and minimum value of estimated mask by local mask are proposed. And in order to assess the performance of proposed algorithm, it was compared with a conventional Sobel, Roberts, Prewitt and LoG edge detection methods.

  • As digital image processing technologies are developing, edges are being utilized in various areas. In the existing edge detection methods, there are mask methods which utilize Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts, Laplacian operator etc. To realize these existing edge detection methods is simple. But, in case that AWGN(additive white Gaussian noise) added images are processed, edge detection characteristics are slightly insufficient. Therefore, the edge detection algorithm using the standard deviation of local mask was suggested in this paper to compensate for the drawbacks in the existing detection methods and the suggested algorithm in AWGN environments showed excellent edge detection characteristics.

  • In the modern society, according to the advancement in digital image processing technology, edge detection is being utilized in various application sectors such as smart device and medical, etc. In existing edge detection methods, there are Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts and Laplacian, etc, which uses the mask. These previous methods are easy to implement but shows somewhat insufficient results. Therefore, in order to compensate the problems of existing methods, in this paper, an algorithm that detects the edge using the local mask and morphological operation was proposed and the detection performance was compared against the previous methods.

  • Edge is a characteristic information that can easily obtain the size, direction and location of objects included in the image, and the edge detection is utilized as a preprocess processing in various image processing application sectors such as object detection and object recognition, etc. For the conventional edge detection methods, there are Sobel, Prewitt and Roberts. These existing edge detection methods are easy to implement but the edge detection characteristics are somewhat insufficient as fixed weighted mask is applied. Therefore, in order to compensate the problems of existing edge detection methods, in this paper, an edge detection algorithm was proposed after applying the weighted value according to the standard deviation and means within the local mask.
