Air Sampling and Isotope Analyses of Water Vapor and CO2 using Multi-Level Profile System (다중연직농도시스템(Multi-Level Profile System)을 이용한 수증기와 이산화탄소 시료채취 및 안정동위원소 조성 분석)

  • The multi-level $H_2O/CO_2$ profile system has been widely used to quantify the storage and advection effects on energy and mass fluxes measured by eddy covariance systems. In this study, we expanded the utility of the profile system by accommodating air sampling devices for isotope analyses of water vapor and $CO_2$. A pre-evacuated 2L glass flask was connected to the discharge of an Infrared Gas Analyzer (IRGA) of the profile system so that airs with known concentration of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ can be sampled. To test the performance of this sampling system, we sampled airs from 8 levels (from 0.1 to 40 m) at the KoFlux tower of Gwangneung deciduous forest, Korea. Air samples in the 2L flask were separated into its component gases and pure $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ were extracted by using a vacuum extraction line. This novel technique successfully produced vertical profiles of ${\delta}D$ of $H_2O$ and ${\delta}^{13}C$ of $CO_2$ in a mature forest, and estimated ${\delta}D$ of evapotranspiration (${\delta}D_{ET}$) and ${\delta}^{13}C$ of $CO_2$ from ecosystem respiration (${\delta}^{13}C_{resp}$) by using Keeling plots. While technical improvement is still required in various aspects, our sampling system has two major advantages over other proposed techniques. First, it is cost effective since our system uses the existing structure of the profile system. Second, both $CO_2$ and $H_2O$ can be sampled simultaneously so that net ecosystem exchange of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ can be partitioned at the same temporal resolution, which will improve our understanding of the coupling between water and carbon cycles in terrestrial ecosystems.

Numerical Simulation on Seabed-Structure Dynamic Responses due to the Interaction between Waves, Seabed and Coastal Structure (파랑-지반-해안구조물의 상호작용에 기인하는 해저지반과 구조물의 동적응답에 관한 수치시뮬레이션)

  • Seabed beneath and near the coastal structures may undergo large excess pore water pressure composed of oscillatory and residual components in the case of long durations of high wave loading. This excess pore water pressure may reduce effective stress and, consequently, the seabed may liquefy. If the liquefaction occurs in the seabed, the structure may sink, overturn, and eventually fail. Especially, the seabed liquefaction behavior beneath a gravity-based structure under wave loading should be evaluated and considered for design purpose. In this study, to evaluate the liquefaction potential on the seabed, numerical analysis was conducted using 2-dimensional numerical wave tank. The 2-dimensional numerical wave tank was expanded to account for irregular wave fields, and to calculate the dynamic wave pressure and water particle velocity acting on the seabed and the surface boundary of the structure. The simulation results of the wave pressure and the shear stress induced by water particle velocity were used as inputs to a FLIP(Finite element analysis LIquefaction Program). Then, the FLIP evaluated the time and spatial variations in excess pore water pressure, effective stress and liquefaction potential in the seabed. Additionally, the deformation of the seabed and the displacement of the structure as a function of time were quantitatively evaluated. From the analysis, when the shear stress was considered, the liquefaction at the seabed in front of the structure was identified. Since the liquefied seabed particles have no resistance force, scour can possibly occur on the seabed. Therefore, the strength decrease of the seabed at the front of the structure due to high wave loading for the longer period of time such as a storm can increase the structural motion and consequently influence the stability of the structure.

Study of HubWA Protein Folding Reaction by Measuring the Stability of Folding Intermediate (중간단계의 구조적 안정성을 통한 HubWA 단백질의 접힘(folding) 반응 탐색)

  • The contribution of hydrophobic residues to the protein folding reaction was studied by using HubWA variant proteins with I and L to V mutation. Folding kinetics of all V variant proteins was observed to be satisfied by a three-state on-pathway mechanism, U ⇌ I ⇌ N, where U, I, and N represent unfolded, intermediate, and native state, respectively. Three-state folding reaction was quantitatively analyzed and the free energy of folding of each elementary reactions and overall folding reaction, ΔGoUI, ΔGoIN, and ΔGoUN, were obtained. From the ratio of free energy difference between the variant protein and HubWA, ΔΔGoUI/ΔΔGoUN (ΔΔGoUI = ΔGoUI (variant protein) - ΔGoUI (HubWA) and ΔΔGoUN = ΔGoUN (variant protein) - ΔGoUN(HubWA)), the contribution of hydrophobic residues to HubWA folding was analyzed. The residues which are located in the hydrophobic core between α-helix and β-sheet, I3, I13, L15, I30, L43, I61 and L67, showed ΔΔGoUI/ΔΔGoUN value of ~0.5 when each of these residues was mutated to V, indicating that these residues form relatively solid hydrophobic core in the intermediate state. Residues located at the end of secondary structures and loop, I23, L69 and I36 showed ΔΔGoUI/ΔΔGoUN value below 0.4 when each of these residues was mutated to V, indicating that the region containing these residues are loosely formed in the intermediate state. V17A, L50V and L56V showed fairly high ΔΔGoUI/ΔΔGoUN value of ~0.8. Since L50 and L56 are located in the region containing long loop (residue 46 to 62), it is suggested that the high ΔΔGoUI/ΔΔGoUN value of these residues prevents the formation of aggregate at the early stage of folding reaction.

  • 한 산업에서 인력 수급을 전망하는 것은 인력의 수요자인 기업의 측면에서는 안정적인 인력 확보 전략을 수립하기 위해서, 공급자인 산업 종사자들에게 있어서는 자신들이 앞으로 진출해야할 산업의 매력도를 파악하기 위해서, 그리고 정부 차원에서는 관련 산업에 있어서 중복 투자의 방지와 효율적이고 균형 된 산업 발전을 위한 정책 수립을 위해서 매우 중요하다. 그러나 이러한 인력 수급 전망들은 종종 잘못된 시장 분석으로 인하여 인력의 과소 공급 또는 과잉 공급이라는 의도하지 않은 결과를 가져오는 경우가 있다. 이는 전체적인 시각에서 시장의 구조적 특성을 분석하기보다는 현상을 조사하는 수준에 머물거나 현재의 상황 또는 단일 산업만을 고려할 뿐 시간의 흐름에 따른 동태적 변화와 지연된 피드백의 효과, 그리고 관련 산업간의 유기적 연관관계를 반영하지 못한 채 단기적이고 단선적인 관점에서 인력 수급을 전망하는데 그 원인이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 특히, 다른 산업과의 연관 관계가 복잡하고 인력의 수요의 급증에도 불구하고 산업에서 요구하는 인력을 양성하기까지 많은 시간이 소요되는 첨단 산업 및 신생 산업에서의 경우 이러한 현상은 더욱 두드러지게 나타날 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문은 변수간의 상호 동태적인 관계와 시간의 흐름에 따른 행태를 분석하는 데 용이한 SD 방법론에 기초하여 최근 빠르게 성장하고 있는 정보보호산업에서의 동태적인 인력 수급 모델을 구현하여 향후 국내 정보 보호 인력의 수급 행태가 어떻게 전개될 것인지를 분석해 보았으며 이를 통하여 동태적 시각에서 인력 수급 불균형 현상의 원인을 파악하고 문제 해결을 위한 대안을 제시하고자 한다.채취하여 임신진단키트(제네디아프로테 트, 녹십자)를 이용하여 임신여부를 1차적으로 확인하였다. 과배란을 유기한 13두의 공란우중 9두(69.2%)가 과배란 반응을 나타내었으며, 회수된 수정란 51개중 이식가능수정란은 38개(74.5%) 였다. 발정동기화를 유도한 수란우 40두중에서 35두(87.5%)가 발정이 동기화되었으며, 그 중 황체검사를 통하여 30두의 수란우에 수정란을 이식하였다. 수정란이식후 13일(발정주기 21일)에 혈액을 이용한 임신진단에서 농가별 수태율은 각각 37.5%, 70.0%, 60.0% 및 71.4% 로서 평균 60.0%를 나타내었다.서 39$^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$ 배양기에 48시간 배양하면서 생존여부를 판단하였다. 실험 2에서 확장배반포배 수정란이 25.3%의 생존율을 나타내었으며, 실험 1과 실험 3에서는 수정란의 형태와 관계없이 생존성을 확인할 수 없었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 glycerol 완만동결에서는 확장배반포기 수정란 이상이 보존가능한 것으로 추정되나 더 추가적인 연구가 요구된다.c kinase 활성의 변동은 정소 내 간충조직, 세정관 상피의 증식 및 기능적 분화 과정을 매개하는 생리적 활성분자 수용체 하위의 신호전달 과정에 Src-Csk loop에 의한 조절가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.rugrene의 향기성분이 주요 성분군으로 확인되었다. 2. 생강나무에서 생강의 향기를 발산하는 성분으로는 $\beta$-myrcene, o-terpinolene, phellandrone, ι-limonene, $\beta$-eudes

  • 공사장의 건설기계 소음은 저주파 에너지를 많이 가지고 있기 때문에, 일단 소음이 발생되면 그 전파가 멀리까지 감쇄없이 진행하는 물리적 특징을 가지고 있으며 현실적으로 흡음재처리를 통한 소음방지효과는 저조한 실정이다. 특히, 선진국에서는 건설기계 등의 엄격한 소음 인증제도 실시로 인해 국내 일부 건설장비 생산제품이 외국에서 요구하는 소음규제치를 초과하기 때문에 저소음, 저진동 건설기계 설계 기술의 발전이 없으면, 향후 수출여건이 점차 어려워지고 있다. 이와같은 주변여건의 변화로 인해 건설기계를 생산하는 입체에서는 공사장 소음과 같은 저주파 에너지에 의해 지배 받는 소음문제를 효과적으로 저감시키기 위한 건설기계의 저소음, 저진동 설계의 필요성을 심각하게 인식하고 있는 실정이다. 건설기계중, 소음이 문제시되는 기계로는 지반정지공사, 기초공사, 콘크리트공사, 포장공사, 파괴 및 해체공사와 기타등 6가지가 있다. 이중에서 환경연구원의 연구결과에 따르면, 항타기, 브레이커 및 착암기가 높은 소음도를 나타내고 있다. 가장 높은 소음을 배출하고 있는 항타기는 기초 공사에 쓰이는 것으로써 지반 천공후 H빔을 싣는 디젤 항타기의 경우, 소음도가 107dBA를 보여주고 있다. 이 값은 기계로부터 7m 떨어진 거리에서 측정된 값이다. 또, 파괴 및 해제공사에 쓰이는 브레이커는 98dBA의 소음도를 보여주고 있다. 착암기는 작용원리에 따라 91-96dBA의 소음을 배출하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 건설기계중 소음이 높아 문제시 되고 있는 유압 브레이커의 저소음 설계기술개발에 관한 내용이다. 저소음 브레이커의 개발을 위해 소음에너지의 전달경로를 검토하고, 현실성있는 소음방지 대책을 제시하였다. 연구결과, 브레이커의 설계개량을 통해, 10dB의 소음저감효과를 볼 수 있어 만족스러운 결과를 도출할 수 있었다.타를 처리하기에는 부적절한 방법임이 널리 알려진 사실이다[3]. 최근에 Ben Mrad와 Fassois[4]는 신호에 잡음이 존재하여도 이를 잘 처리할 수 있는 확률적(stochastic) 방법을 개발하여 기존의 결정적 방법들과 그 결과를 비교하였다. 그러나, 개발된 방법은 응답 신호에 백색잡음(white noise)이 섞이는 특수한 경우에만 사용할 수 있게 만들어져서 이 방법의 실질적인 적용에는 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 방법들의 단점을 극복할 수 있는 새로운 회귀적 모우드 변수 규명 방법을 개발하였다. 이는 Fassois와 Lee가 ARMAX모델의 계수를 효율적으로 추정하기 위하여 개발한 뱉치방법인 Suboptimum Maximum Likelihood 방법[5]를 기초로 하여 개발하였다. 개발된 방법의 장점은 응답 신호에 유색잡음이 존재하여도 모우드 변수들을 항상 정확하게 구할 수 있으며, 또한 알고리즘의 안정성이 보장된 것이다.. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS. A Critical Approach on Family Support, Social Security, and its Direction: Focusing on Old Parents and Children from Divorced Families (가족부양 쟁점에 관한 일고찰: 노인과 이혼가족 아동을 중심으로)

  • The study is to analyze support-related issues, particularly associated with elderly and children care, which have been a fundamental agenda of family welfare policy. We are expected for societal-level controversy on the relationship of family support and social security in the near future because of rapid increase in ageing and divorce rate. Accordingly, we need to establish social consensus on the extent to which both family support system and social support system are responsible for the life maintenance of the elderly and the children from divorced family. We also clarify the various characteristics(including scope, degree, period of time, and need/manageability) of support provided by family members. Considering the changes of family structure and population composition, the policy of supporting the old and children should go for social responsibility. Findings show that civil law and social welfare law have unclear application on the relationship between family support and social security, and contents in family support. In particular, public assistance law strongly emphasizes the principle of family support while social insurance laws provide only limited and insufficient family maintenance. The suggestions of further study on support-related issues are given in the rapidly changing society and the increasing economic instability.

A Case Study of Middle School Students' Conceptual Change on the Concept of Force: Conceptual Ecological Approach (중학생의 힘의 개념변화 사례 연구: 개념생태적 접근)

  • This study explored the types of conceptual change of 'force' within middle school students' conceptual ecologies. This qualitative study was implemented with the use of classroom observations and two interviews with the participants. 11 middle school students (7 females and 4 males) joined in this study. The interviews with the participants were conducted individually before and after the 'force' unit. The collected data were all transcribed and analyzed interpretively. The results of this study consisted of two parts. First, the participants' conceptual ecologies of 'force' were categorized into 4: epistemological commitments (fixed or interactional explanatory consistency), analogy (attribute, working), metaphysical beliefs (people-oriented ontology, animism, causationism, mixed), and past experiences. Second, two representative cases including 'stable' and 'transitional' states were explained based on the interactions within their own conceptual ecologies. We can see students' conceptions with the integrated perspective in the sense that this results tried to get contextual and interactional understandings of the status of the conception and the possibilities of conceptual change. In addition, it implied that conceptual change research should have the perspective of conceptual ecology evolution in the future.

  • This paper examines port redevelopment and urban regeneration projects of foreign advanced countries and investigates policy implications to apply to Korean port cities. Busan and Incheon have started to redevelop old port facilities located near old city centers and they have been faced several problems. Significant findings are found from the experiences of Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Darling Harbor in Sydney, Hafencity in Hamburg, Eastern Dockland in Amsterdam and Minatomirai 21 in Yokohama etc. At first, port and city have to be integrated to an unique regeneration project in order to solve the spatially disconnected problems originated from separate development in the initial stage. Preservation of historical regional assets is highly recommended to characterize its own value which is emphasized in the age of post modernism. Accurate and consistent design guidelines of port cities are stressed to build high standard cities. In the perspective of investigating a new business model, anchor facilities and place marketing strategies are introduced to induce more people to the place specially in the beginning stage. In addition, creative financing methods and competent implementing bodies are emphasized to running the projects stably regardless of real estate market status.

A GIS Based Spatial Decision Support System for Retail Center Locations (소매중심지 입지를 위한 GIS기반의 공간적 의사결정 지원시스템)

  • This paper is to build a spatial decision support system designed to solve problems relevant to the decision-making for retail center locations. For construction of the system this paper discusses the primary procedures of spatial modeling and issues of data, which are required for integrating spatial interaction models to GIS having capability of managing, analyzing and visualizing spatial data sets. Lexington, Kentucky, is selected as a case study to implement the spatial decision support system based on the spatial modeling module. This system for retail center locations is useful of estimating the catchment areas more accurately and analyzing resultant flow patterns. And this system can make spatial analysis efficiently for what-if scenarios such as an intended retail center or changing demand. The benefits of adopting this system allow the decision makers to plan the investment strategies and search for stable market structure.

Response Rate and Community Context: Comparison of U.S. Census and the General Social Survey (사회조사 응답률에 영향을 미치는 지역의 경제.사회적 요인: 2000년 미국 센서스와 2002년 미국 종합사회조사 비교)

  • How much do people living in different communities vary in their survey responses? A few studies have examined the effect of the social environment on survey response. Making generalizations from these studies by looking at the effect of social environment on survey response is complicated due to differences in survey dimensions, including incentives, survey mode, types of response rates, and geographic levels. Using the 2000 Census Final Response Rates(CFRR) and the 2002 General Social Survey Response Rates(GSSRR) linked with the 2000 Census in the United States, we attempt to understand how community characteristics associated with survey cooperation vary between data sets. We found that people living in poor area are less likely to cooperate with the Census but more likely to cooperate with GSS, while people living in an area with more minors under 18 is more likely to cooperate with both Census and the GSS. By using two data sources with contrasting survey dimensions within the United States, our findings have implications for survey field operations and hopefully will invigorate studies about response rates in a Korean context.
