A Study on the Application Criteria of Domestic Regulations for Floating Marine Structures (부유식해상구조물의 분류 및 국내법 적용 기준에 관한 고찰)

  • According to the current status of marine accidents in Korea, the number of accidents is steadily increasing by an approximate average of 8.5% per year, and marine accidents are steadily increasing for ships and structures such as floating barges, tugboats, ferries and floating platforms except for fishing ships. In this study, domestic floating structures were classified according to the type of floating structure, and the regulation system and the scope of the application of floating marine structures were schematically illustrated according to related domestic laws such as the Ship Safety Act, Ship Act and Fishing Management and Promotion Act. In addition, considering the state of the marine environment, it was intended to discover structurally delicate parts and risk factors early in blinded safety spots in applying domestic regulations, and to derive effective improvement measures for the discovered risk factors.

A Complementary Analysis for the Structural Safety Evaluation of the Spent Nuclear Fuel Disposal Canister for the Pressurized Water Reactor (가압경수로(PWR)용 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조적 안전성 평가 보완 해석)

  • A structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister for the pressurized water reactor(PWR) for about 10,000 years long term deposition at a 500m deep granitic bedrock repository has been developed. However this developed structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is too heavy to handle without any structural safety problem. Hence a lighter structural model of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister which is easy to handle has been tried to develop very much. One of the reasons which made the structural model heavy is considered to be due to the severe adaptation of the design conditions like external loads and safety factor etc. to the canister design. Hence a complementary analysis to alleviate such severe design conditions is required for the reduction of the canister weight. In this study, a complementary structural analysis for the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister is carried out changing the design conditions such as external loads and safety factors to recalculate the design parameters like diameter and thickness etc. of the canister. The complementary analysis results shows that the diameter of canister can be shortened from 122cm to 102cm to reduce the weight of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister.

A Proposal of Secure and Efficient Dynamic Multicast Key Management Structure (안전하고 효율적인 동적 멀티캐스트 키 관리 구조 제안)

  • With the rapid of computer applications and digital communication networks, group based applications on the open network have been common tendency. The multicast infrastructure has played an important researching part in this application area. However the conventional solutions to achieve the secure and efficient structure don't satisfy all requirements. In this study, we classified and analyzed several existing multicast key management structure on the safety, the efficiency and the strengthen. Based on the analysis, we developed a new secure and efficient multicast key management structure. By comparing various aspects, that the number of communication and computation, of the new and the conventional methods, we were able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A Study on the Improvement of Search and Rescue Coordination for Effective Response to Marine Casualties (해양사고의 효율적 대응을 위한 수색구조조정 개선방안 연구)

  • KCG, responsible Agency of maritime SAR operation has been known to address the marine casualties well, however, it was criticized because KCG failed to take prompt and effective response to the recent Ferry disaster at the very early stage. In this regards, the authors analyze the characteristics of marine incident with historical data, and also review and examine the national SAR system focusing on SAR coordination and human resources to make recommendation and suggestion in order to minimize the loss of lives to future marine incidents. As a result, KCG shall augment its capabilities, inter alia, fast libeboats and rescue helicopters for prompt response to marine incidents at the coastal waters, and KCG shall re-adjust the establishment of Rescue Coordination Center to improve operational problems of current system in accordance with IMO guidance, KCG is required to introduce mandatory training, qualification and certificate system to enhance the professionalism of SAR personnel.

Structural Analysis for 4-Seater Canard Airplane (4인승 선미익기 구조해석)

  • In this paper, we have presented structural analysis procedure and full scale test results for 4-seater canard airplane. Construction of the finite element model is critical path for the aircraft structural analysis and directly affects the structural integrity. The refinement of the finite element model should be determined depending on full scale test results. From the results of the structural analysis, 5 design limit loads test conditions and 11 design ultimate loads test conditions were selected. By the presented procedure, the structural integrity of 4-Seater Canard Airplane is successfully obtained.
