Computational Method for Searching Human miRNA Precursors (인간 miRNA 전구체 탐색을 위한 계산학적 방법)

  • 본 논문은 진화 알고리즘(Evolutionary algorithm)의 기법중의 하나인 유전자 프로그래밍(Genetic programming)을 이용하여 miRNA 유전자를 발굴하기 위한 알고리즘을 소개하고 있다 miRNA는 세포내에서 유전자의 전사를 중지시킴으로써 유전자의 발현을 직접적으로 조절하게 되는 작은 RNA 집단 중의 하나이다. 그러므로 miRNA를 유전체 데이터에서 동정해내는 작업은 생물학적으로 상당히 중요하다. 한편 유전체 데이터에서 miRNA를 동정해내는 알고리즘은 생물학적 실험에서의 시간과 비용을 상당히 절감할 수 있으며, 생물학적으로 miRNA를 동정하는 많은 어려움을 덜어주게 된다. 하지만 계산학적으로 miRNA의 동정은 1차 염기서열상의 통계적인 중요도가 부족하여 기존의 유전자 예측 알고리즘을 적용하기에는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 miRNA의 염기서열보다는 2차구조에서 더 많은 유사성을 갖는다는 점을 착안하여, 2차구조내에서 공통적인 구조를 찾아내고, 그 정보를 이용하여 miRNA를 동정해내는 방법으로 접근하였다. 이 알고리즘의 성능평가를 위해 우리는 test set을 이용하여 학습된 모델의 특이도(= 34/38)와 민감도(= 38/67)를 계산하였다. 평가결과 본 알고리즘이 기존의 miRNA 예측 프로그램보다 높은 특이도를 갖고 있으며, 유사한 수준의 민감도를 갖고 있음을 보여 주고 있다.

Simulations Of a Self-focusing Carbon Nanotube Triode Field Emission Device (전자빔을 자체 집속하는 탄소나노튜브 삼전극 전계방출소자의 시뮬레이션)

  • 탄소나노튜브 (CNT)가 도포된 평면형 에미터와 원형 개구의 게이트 전극을 가지는 삼전극 전계방출 소자의 전계방출 특성을 시뮬레이션하였다. 체계적인 시뮬레이션을 위해 소자 내 전위의 공간적 분포 특정을 결정하는 전계형상인자 $\gamma$를 정의하고 이 값에 따른 전위분포의 특성과 방출 전자의 궤적을 계산하였다. 계산 결과$\gamma$ > 1 인 전압조건에서는 에미터의 가운데를 중심으로 강한 전자방출이 발생하고 전자빔이 구조의 축 방향으로 자체 집속됨을 알 수 있었다. 이렇게 되면 에미터와 게이트의 정렬이 전혀 필요하지 않게 되며 또한 별도의 전자집속회로 없이도 에미터와 양극에 있는 형광체가 1:1 로 대응하는 획기적인 디스플레이 구조를 가능하게 해 준다 적정 전압조건에서 CNT의 전계강화인자 $\beta$의 변화에 따른 총 전류를 계산한 결과,$\beta$ >3000인 CNT를 사용할 경우 실제 소자로서 구현이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • It has been found that the learning method based on conventional CAI(Computer Assisted Instruction) to be inadequate and inefficient as it is designed without considering the individual learning characteristics of the learners. In order to rectify and remedy the problem, the development of an ITS(Intelligent Tutoring System) that is adequately equipped with an artificial intelligence that successfully interprets the individual learning ability characteristics through accumulated individual data is in order. This study attempts to verify the individual acquisition ability and the possible error committed by learners in the process of learning in order to present the elements to be considered for designing a successful student module that enables the effective learning through the 'learner ability grouping' for learning Electronic Calculator Architecture.

  • Since production of radioactive isotope for using PET, a lot of neutrons were produced. The produced neutrons were mainly shielded by concrete facility. Secondary photons are generated and emitted from the concrete shielding wall of the PET cyclotron since the proton-generated neutrons are thermalized and absorbed in the concrete wall and emit secondary radiations, i.e., photons. This study calculated neutron dose and photon dose at outside of the accelerator facility using MCNPX code. As results of the calculation, total dose were calculated less than limited dose by law.

Magnetism and Electronic Structure of Tc Half-monolayer on Pd(oo1) Surface (Pd(001) 위에 올려진 Tc 0.5 웃층의 자성과 전자구조)

  • We have investigated the magnetic properties and the electronic structures of Tc half-monolayer (0.5-ML) on Pd(001) using the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave(FLAPW) energy band method. We calculated the total energies for ferromagnetic and paramagnetic states to determine the stable magnetic state. The calculated results show that the total energy of the ferromagnetic state is lower than that of the paramagnetic one. The overlayer Tc 0.5-ML has considerably large magnetic moment $(2.09\;{\mu}_B)$, while the substrate Pd layers have been negatively polarized. The calculated density of states and total electrons inside the muffin-tin (MT) sphere are presented and discussed in relation with the magnetic properties.

  • Ray-optics approach based on the rigorous coupled wave theory, called by the rigorous ray-optics method (RROM), is developed for the calculation of couling coefficients of waveguide grating devices. The coupling coefficients of several grating structures, such as rectangular, sinusoidal, triangle, and trapezoidal shapes, are determined by the RROM, and they are compared with those obtained by conventional methods of the ray-optics method (ROM) and the coupled mode method (CMM). In the case of rectangular gratings, the coupling coefficients is evaluated in detail by various depths and duty-cycles of the grating. We have found that the RROM gives more exact solutions for the coupling coefficients of even arbitrary shapes of diffractive waveguide grating devices than the other conventional methods.

Optimal Structures of a Neural Network Based on OpenCV for a Golf Ball Recognition (골프공 인식을 위한 OpenCV 기반 신경망 최적화 구조)

  • In this paper the optimal structure of a neural network based on OpenCV for a golf ball recognition and the intensity of ROI(Region Of Interest) are calculated. The system is composed of preprocess, image processing and machine learning, and a learning model is obtained by multi-layer perceptron using the inputs of 7 Hu's invariant moments, box ration extracted by vertical and horizontal length or ${\pi}$ calculated by area of ROI. Simulation results show that optimal numbers of hidden layer and the node of neuron are selected to 2 and 9 respectively considering the recognition rate and running time, and optimal intensity of ROI is selected to 200.

A Remote Measurement Technique for Rock Discontinuity (암반 불연속면의 원격 영상측량 기법)

  • A simple automated measuring method for planar or linear features on the rock excavation surface is presented. Attitude of the planar and linear feature is calculated from 3D coordinates of points on the structures. Spatial coordinates are calculated from overlapped stereo images. Factors used in the calculation are (1) local coordinates of the left and right images, (2) the focal length of cameras, and (3) the distance between two cameras. A simple image capturing device and an image treatment routine coded by Visual Basic and GIS components are constructed for the remote measurements, The methodology shows less than 1 cm error when a point is measured from 179 cm in distance. The methodology is tested at the excavation site in PaiChai University. Remotely measured result matches well with the manual measurement within the reasonable error range.

A Study on Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of Penetrable Objects Using Block Matrix Preconditioner(BMP) and IE-FFT (Block Matrix Preconditioner와 IE-FFT를 이용한 침투 가능한 구조물의 전자기 산란해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we presents the integral equation-fast Fourier transform(IE-FFT) and block matrix preconditioner (BMP) to solve electromagnetic scattering problems of penetrable structures composed of dielectric or magnetic materials. IE-FFT can significantly improve the amount of calculation to solve the matrix equation constructed from the moment method(MoM). Moreover, the iterative method in conjunction with BMP can be significantly reduce the number of iterations required to solve the matrix equations which are constructed from electrically large structures. Numerical results show that IE-FFT and block matrix preconditioner can solve electromagnetic scattering problems for penetrable objects quickly and accurately.

  • 이 논문는 지오신텍스 보강토 구조물의 보강 메카니즘을 수치계산을 통해 규명하고자 하는 목적으로 쓰여졌다. 이 연구에서는 보강 메카니즘은 전단에 의한 다짐토의 체적 팽창(부의 다일렌탄시)을 지오신텍티스에 의해 구속 억제하는 과정에서 생성되는 효과로 간주하고 있다. 보강 메카니즘의 규명을 위해 1992년 일본 Kanazawa에서 실시된 실모형 실험과 실내 실험 결과를 이용하였으며. 수치계산에서는 다짐토의 다일렌탄시 특성을 표현 가능한 탄소성 구성모델을 이용하여 유한요소(FEM)을 이용하고 있다. 수치 계산에 의해 실모형, 실험 실내실험 결과를 비교 분석하였다.
