Understanding of North Korean culture is considered important as a foundation for social integration in prospect of future reunification. The contents of the program were developed based on the analysis of North Korean defectors' interviews and review of the literature and media reports on North Korean family culture. The program consists of 12 units of 40-minute sessions with the following topics: economy and consumption, leisure activities, family relationships, dating and spouse choices, fashion changes, clothing acquisition and care, food choices and local diets, dietary problems, housing, and neighborhood. • The purpose of this study is to understand the context of cosumers' lives in Korea with a narrative analysis method. The epistemological orientation of eh narrative analysis is Interpretivism, which blends the two polar philosophical perspectives, Empiricism and Rationalism, and includes Narrotology, Hermeneneutics, Semiotics, and Structural Criticism. Narrative analysis takes as its object of investigation the story itself. This study collects eleven narrative plots from four housewives, into which Labov's structural approach is applied. This study shows clearly that the socio-cultural environment in which consumers live has strong influence on their consumption behavior and also reveals that narrativization tells not only about past actions but how individuals understand those actions, that is, meaning.

  • This study describes the acceptance of Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠), which is a book the 19th century to 20th century, into the genre of poetry. In chapter 2, I searched for lists, constructions and arrangement of poems in Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠). The book has not only 39 poems (gasa) in Korean, but also more than 20 poems (hansi) in Chinese. I also found two new poems by the editor of the book. This shows that the receiver fully accepts the poetry and that he has equal consideration for Korean songs as well as hansi ones. In chapter 3, I focused on the red and blue points inside letters. When we read only the red and blue points within the poetry, I realized that Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠) created these for poetry's literary value, not for music or songs. This reveals how the editor of Hae-Dong-Yu-Yo(海東遺謠) received the older famous poems as his own. This shows us the degree of acceptance of Korean classical poetry and songs, and therefore leads us to believe that this can be of use to present learners as well.

  • This study is aimed to systematically grasp the visual and informative needs of sign system and secure the formativeness sample for standardization model. This study, therefore, will help building the requirements to create design value and secure objectiveness for realization of practical use of the communication design plan, and means transference of the external and internal information system of railroad vehicles for practical use into the standardization model. The pictorial sign based information delivery is a communication process and way gained through vision and perception, so that grasping the formative structure connoted in message is not less than understanding the characteristics of the essence. In this study, I defined the symbolic expressions inherent in TTX sign system to be perceptional action and value norms as general signatures and signifiers.

  • The study focused on the printed sheet music delivering the classical music contents in the view of the media. Media scholar Marshall Mcluhan declared that the media is not just simple tool of delivery but is the main subject affecting the human perception and the content itself. The music media, sheet music invented by the development of the printing technique allowed the massive production and it generalized the classical music contents. However, the editing, the mandatory process for sheet music, created the editors who are standardizing and visualizing the music contents and until today, the sheet music delivers the editor's interpretation rather than the composer's. To prove this notion, the study will compare the manuscript and sheet music of Unaccompanied Violin Sonata no. 3 'Fugue' by J. S Bach and will discuss about the compatibility of the sheet music as the music media now.

  • Recently, there is a new trend about internet of things (IoT) such as shops with smart mirror around the fashion and beauty industry. Since smart mirror can display a content through a monitor which is attached to back of mirror system while looking through a mirror, it can be applied to various industries such as fashion, beauty and health care. This paper proposes an efficient learning system requiring no assistance from others for the hearing deaf who atrophy verbal skill and are inaccurate in pronunciation by using features of smart mirror. Also, this system proposes an efficient and simple lip reading method which can be applied to an embedded system and improves a learning efficiency by employing previously verified pronunciation training data.

  • This study aims to identify and analyze how the No Gun Ri massacre records are incorporated in social memory. As a theoretical study, it discusses the characteristics of social records. First, they are social products that have an influence on personal memory. Second, they reflect variability of memory. Third, they can be used in proving an event. To analyze the memory and records of the No Gun Ri massacre, this study overviews the outline of the killings and divides it into three eras: countermemory era, memory struggle era, and formal memory era. Furthermore, this study reviews the transformation process and characteristics of each era. The representative records produced in each era are as follows: oral, and personal records in the first period; records related to committee activities, legislative activities, and research activities in the second period; and official records on the special law, and the construction and operation of a peace park in the third period. The third period shows the scalability of the records through a variety of cultural records production to remember the No Gun Ri incident.

  • The study aims to investigate research trends in the UK records management field and compare the results with domestic research by analyzing research articles published in Archives and Records for the UK's research trends and The Korean Journal of Archival Studies (KJAS) for domestic ones. The study analyzed 318 articles published in KJAS and 142 articles published in Archives and Records since 2013, when the journal changed its title from Journal of the Society of Archivists, to investigate the distribution of authors, including the ratio of coauthorship and authors' affiliations. A set of 1,251 unique terms were extracted from KJAS, and 508 unique terms were extracted from Archives and Records for keyword co-occurrence network analyses. The result shows that the main research topics for KJAS include studies on (1) records management in general, such as archives, records, records management, and archival information service, (2) public records management, (3) personal or private records management, and (4) the techniques for records management, such as archival appraisal, selection, and disposition. In Archives and Records, (1) there are several case studies related to community and local archives, and (2) studies related to records management techniques, such as records description, appraisal, access, preservation, and service, have been performed continuously; furthermore, (3) studies on the digitization of oral history and audiovisual records are also one of the most researched areas.
