  • In marketing reserach, the ultimate goal is to increase predictability of consumer's purchse behavior. However, most of the marketing researchers measure purchase intention rather than behavior assuming that the consumer's purchase behaviors will coincide with their intentions. Lately, there have been many arguments whether purchase intention is meaningful as a determinant or a predictor for purchase behavior. Additionally, many studies reported substantial variations among the 'product categories. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between consumer's purchase intention and purchase behavior of apparel products. Two research questions were set up. One was to find out the relationship between the intention and behavior, and the other was to find out the factors affecting the relationship. It was found out that mere intention could neither explain nor predict behavior, and that the factors affecting intenting intention- behavior inconsistency had to be submitted for explanation and prediction. These factors could explain inconsistency between the intention and the behavior. Regression equations in the past researches explained aggregate results, but coludn't explain each consumer's intention-behavior inconsistency. The integration of the specific intention and the affecting factors can increase predictability of each consumer's purchase behavior.

Path hypotheses in structural equation model which was constructed for this purpose were verified. In addition, the research model was analyzed according to the groups classified by the level of purchase experience in mobile shopping mall. The survey was limited to the respondents in their 20s and 30s living in Seoul and other metropolitan areas who had purchased fashion products in mobile shopping mall. 411 useful data collected from on-line survey were analyzed by descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and pearson's correlation analysis using SPSS 21 and AMOS 19. The results of verifying the hypotheses were as follows: First, SV was composed of two factors which included hedonic shopping value(HSV) and utilitarian shopping value(USV). Second, the research model was verified as an acceptable model in explaining the influence of consumers' SV, EOU, and U on PI. Third, seven hypotheses among nine hypotheses were accepted in high purchasers. HSV did not have a significant influence on PI, and EOU did not affect PI significantly. Fourth, five hypotheses were accepted in light purchasers. HSV affected U significantly while USV had a significant impact on EOU and PI. EOU affected U, and U affected PI significantly. In conclusion, USV was proven to be the factor affecting PI directly as well as indirectly. Eou and U also had a significant influnce on PI in mobile fashion shopping. These results will provide mobile marketers with the differentiated strategies to make consumers lead to mobile purchase.

  • Recently, cause marketing is more focused as one of key brand positioning strategies, which in turn leads that more companies are interested in cause marketing. In this study, we focused on two different types of cause marketing, named as public-volunteered cause marketing and corporate-driven cause marketing. A field study using an actual brand explored the effect of cause marketing type and brand authenticity on purchase intention toward the target brand. Moreover, we examined the moderation and moderated mediation of brand awareness. As our results showed, the corporate-driven cause marketing had a positive impact both on brand authenticity and purchase intention in the low (vs. high) brand awareness condition. However, the effect of public-volunteered marketing on purchase intention and brand authenticity did not vary depending on brand awareness. To increase the effectiveness of the cause marketing, the results suggest that the public-volunteered cause marketing would be more effective than the corporate-driven cause marketing.

  • Despite an astronomical budget for public diplomacy, China is experiencing successive failures in public diplomacy. The unfavorable feeling towards China is increasing every year in the world and China needs a new public diplomacy to resolve anti-Chinese sentiment. Here, we found that viewers of Korean-Chinese student YouTuber Deemd formed a friendly image towards China after watching Deemd's China vlog. Therefore, in this study, we tried to examine whether Deemd's vlogs affect the improvement of China's country image theoretically guided by the theory of mere exposure effect. In addition, we examined whether the improvement of a country image causes the 'Halo effect' that leads to an increase in the intention to visit China and purchase intention of Chinese products. It is expected that the results of this study can serve as a new digital media diplomacy solution for countries, including China, that want to capture the hearts of foreign public in the era of a new digital public diplomacy.
