Teachers' Perception about 'Science Field Trip to Korean Historical Sites' ('한국 역사 속 과학탐방'에 대한 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' perception about 'Science Field Trip(SFT) to Korean historical sites'. Ninety-seven teachers were asked to reply the questionnaire about SFT to Korean historical sites. This questionnaire was divided into three parts: educational value, teaching method, and difficulty of management. Firstly, teachers indicated that SFT to Korean historical sites had much educational value in that it could give students chances to understand Korean culture, to acquire investigative process skills, to experience divergent investigation and cooperative learning, to raise integrated thinking skill concerning science and other subjects, and to learn contents related with science curriculum. It also had advantages of caring for students out of school and giving the information for future occupation. Secondly, teachers suggested the desirable teaching method: teachers' explanation about SFT to Korean historical sites with worksheets before it, students' group work during it, and the presentation and discussion after it. Finally, the most frequent answer in the difficulty of management was the lack of teaching materialsfor SFT to Korean historical sites.

A Study of User Satisfaction with Ubiquitous Environmental Sculptures - Focusing on the Gangnam U-STREET Media Pole - (유비쿼터스 환경조형물에 대한 이용 만족도 평가 - 강남 U-STREET 미디어폴을 대상으로 -)

  • This paper has attempted to propose a more progressive direction for U-environmental sculptures in a ubiquitous urban space in terms of usability, service, function and formative characteristics that enhance user satisfaction with these sculptures. For this, Media Pole, a U-environmental sculpture on Gangnam U-Street, has been examined. The results of this study are as follows: First, a study of user satisfaction was planned after establishing levels of satisfaction in terms of service, function and formative characteristics. In terms of satisfaction by the section of Media Pole, the public transportation map was the most influential in service while street culture and beauty of shape were critical in function and formative characteristics, respectively. In the relationship between satisfaction by section and overall satisfaction, furthermore, functional satisfaction had the biggest influence. Therefore, the development of human-centered functional factors which have pleasant and touching stories to facilitate communication with citizens are important in order to develop various Media Pole contents to enhance user satisfaction with the U-environmental sculpture and allow it evolve into a Gangnam landmark Since we are in the initial stage of a U-city, there are many problems that need to be addressed such as a lack of natural beauty, poor material quality of environmental sculptures, absence of storytelling, poor technology, lack of content, poor profitability and lack of means of social communication. In the end, the development of a comfortable, people-friendly space and U-environmental sculptures are needed in consideration of economic, social and cultural aspects instead of focusing on advanced technology only.

Study on Status of Barrier Free Certification & Improvement Strategies (여객자동차 터미널 이동편의시설 BF 실태 및 개선방안 연구)

  • This study is to investigate actual condition of passenger terminals, public facilities which are used by unspecified individuals, with high spread effect of certification system of Barrier Free introduced in 2007, evaluate possibility of the certification and prepare an effective way for certification in order to spread and settle the certification system. According to the investigation on the facilities' equipment level of 349 passenger terminals, which being nationally operated, 217 terminals could be certified and non-certified were 58. And, 29 was evaluated as the passenger terminals with high possibility to get Barrier Free certification by small scale of remodeling. The level of Barrier Free of investigated passenger terminals, according to the actual condition with certification index, were 40~55 percent. While the level of Barrier Free of internal facilities of the terminals was over 90percent, the level of sanitary facilities, information facilities, etc. fell short of 50 percents. In this study, pilot project of Barrier Free certification is proposed for enhance of passenger terminal facilities. Moreover, the selection of passenger terminals with high possibility of certification, local governments' strong will as the targets of pilot project for improvement of amenity level and Barrier Free certification and monitoring the project results are the way of the project.

A Comparison Analysis of Gender Sensitivity Among Faculty, Students, and Enterprisers in Engineering (공대 교수, 대학생, 기업가의 성인지력 비교 분석)

  • We surveyed perceptions of faculty, students, and enterprisers in engineering about gender issue in engineering. A total of 59 faculty members, 335 students (226 male, 109 female) of Korea National University of Transportation, and 28 employers of Chungbuk location were selected. The 25 survey questions for faculty, 30 for students, and 5 for employers were made. The analysis methods used included ${\chi}^2$ for cross analysis method. The results showed that faculty in general perceived differences between genders. They also perceived that women engineering students has a lack of leadership and low possibility of success in career in engineering. Also, they perceived disadvantages in application processes of women students. However, they expressed they did not reflect those factors in teaching and career advices. Women engineering majors showed low confidence in getting a job and success in career. They also thought they had no opportunities to gender-sensitive education in engineering courses. They were also very negative toward aptitude in engineering. These results were very similar to those of faculty. On the other hand, men students showed very low awareness of their women peers' perceptions. The perception of enterprisers was also different from faculty and students. These results indicate that there should be changes in perceptions of faculty and students in engineering for employments. For better education for women engineering majors, further research is needed.

Improvement Devices of Urban Center′s Green Function of the Public Open Space Attached Building in Incheon, Korea (인천시 공개공지의 도심 녹지 기능 개선 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to present improvement devices of urban center's green function in the Public Open Space Attached Building(P.O.S.) in Incheon, Korea. Study sites were the P.O.S. of office building(10 place), transportation facility building(3 places), government office building(2 places) that were made up 1994∼2002 and analyzed establishment, using and planting status. And P.O.S.'s planting area structure of Osaka and Kawasaki in Japan that is operating P.O.S. system similar to Korea was compared with study sites of Incheon. P.O.S. of Incheon is not managing as valuable urban center's green and establishing to satisfy legal requirement. The strengthening devices of P.O.S. function are as follows. First, it is desirable that planting area rate of P.O.S. in order to develop small park in urban center is increasing by 40% that is children's park level. Second, it must be conferred about planting basis, tree selection and planting method etc. of P.O.S. with green and park development department at building authorization. Third, by the 'landscape planting standard of plottage' that is becoming planting standard of P.O.S is heightened and must increase quality and amount of green. Fourth, it is required mandatory establishing of sign so that citizens can search easily and utilize of P.O.S. Fifth, legal regulation should be decided to prevent that P.O.S. is used unlike purpose originally.

Evaluation of Freeway Mobile Work Zone Safety using Driving Simulations (주행 시뮬레이션을 활용한 고속도로 이동공사 안전성평가)

  • There exists a limitation to provide proper advance information for safe maneuvering through guidance and caution signs in freeway mobile work zones, unlike fixed work zones. Although a work-protection vehicle is currently deployed at the rear of the work vehicle, more active countermeasures to prevent crashes are required. The purpose of this study was to propose a method to evaluate the safety in mobile work zones and to present effective countermeasures. Driving simulation experiments were conducted to analyze characteristics of driver's behavior in mobile and fixed work zones. Safety distance index (SDI) based on the comparison of stopping distances of a work-protection vehicle and a following subject vehicle was used to evaluate traffic safety. More dangerous driving behavior was observed in the mobile work zone. Especially, it was identified that the lane-change of vehicles following the work- protection vehicle was late. Therefore, it is necessary to actively introduce methods to provide warning information so that the driver can recognize the work-protection vehicle in advance and carry out appropriate evasive maneuvers.

DMB Filecasting Service Technology (DMB 파일캐스팅 서비스 기술)

  • DMB provides various kinds of data services such as BWS and TPEG service in addition to audio and video services. But recently the necessity of new business models creating profit has been on the rise due to the saturation of DMB receiver market and break-down of market barrier between mobile IPTV and DMB services. This paper introduces DMB filecasting service technology, which can be expected a new profit-creative business model. The purpose of DMB filecasting service is to transmit non-real time multimedia contents based on DMB AF format to the users through DMB channels. It makes possible to consume DMB contents with any DMB-installed device anytime, anywhere and share them with others. Also DMB filecasting service makes consumption and request of DMB contents possible to be extented to a variety of networks as well as DMB channels. The paper explains the standardization status of DMB filecasting service and various DMB filecasting service scenarios. And also it proposes a signalling methode, a transmission and reception protocol and a receiver structure using DMB broadcasting program guide information.

A Method of Generating Sketch Maps for Mobile Phones (휴대폰을 위한 약도 생성 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대폰에서 실시간으로 사용할 수 있는 GIS 기반의 약도를 생성하는 기법을 소개한다. 휴대폰의 출력 창은 크기가 제한되어, 자세한 도로 정보들이나 건물 정보 등의 GIS 정보를 모두 출력 창에 표현하면 사용자들이 인식하기가 매우 어렵다. 그러므로, 출력창의 크기에 맞춘 간략한 약도를 제공하여 사용자들이 지리 정보를 손쉽게 활용할 수 있도록 도와주자는 것이다. 기존의 GPS와 지리 정보를 이용한 경로 탐색 및 안내 장비는 차량 운전자를 위한 도로 중심의 지리 정보를 제공한다. 우리나라 도로 환경에서는 휴대폰을 가진 보행자가 장소 찾기에 필요한 지리 정보를 원하는 경우도 않다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 도보 통행자 및 대중교통 사용자들이 이용하기 편리하도록 지하철역이나 버스 정류장, 대형건물과 같은 이정표를 중심으로 하고. 장소 찾기에 필요한 도로만을 출력 창에 나타내어 단순화된 지리정보를 제공하고자 한다. 또한, 기존에 사용하던 방위 개념 중심의 지도들을 가지고, 지도 읽기에 익숙하지 않은 일반 보행자들이 길 찾기에 바로 사용하는 것은 쉽지 않다. 그러므로 수직 개념을 이용한 단순화된 도로 표현 기법을 사용하여 일반인도 쉴게 지도를 보고 길을 찾을 수 있도록 하였다. GIS 정보 중에서 필요로 하는 도로들을 선택하여 그 경로들을 수직선과 수평선에 가깝게 변형하고, 불필요한 도로를 생략, 지도를 단순화하였다. 또한 포함되어 있던 많은 정보들 중에서 일반적으로 보행자들이 길을 찾아갈 때에 참고하는 정보들을 제외한 나머지 정보들을 생략함으로써, 불필요한 정보로 인한 지도의 복잡도를 줄이고, 지리 정보의 가독성을 향상시켰다. 본 연구의 결과를 활용하면 휴대폰의 출력 창에는 이정표 중심의 약도를 표현할 수 있으므로, 약도 정보를 실시간으로 서비스할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.성뿐만 아니라 보안성을 중요하게 생각하였으며, 앞으로 보안 관련 소프트웨어 개발에 사용될 수 있는 도구들이 가이드 라인에 대한 정보를 제공한다.용할 수 있는지 세부 설계를 제시한다.다.으로서 hemicellulose구조가 polyuronic acid의 형태인 것으로 사료된다. 추출획분의 구성단당은 여러 곡물연구의 보고와 유사하게 glucose, arabinose, xylose 함량이 대체로 높게 나타났다. 점미가 수가용성분에서 goucose대비 용출함량이 고르게 나타나는 경향을 보였고 흑미는 알칼리가용분에서 glucose가 상당량(0.68%) 포함되고 있음을 보여주었고 arabinose(0.68%), xylose(0.05%)도 다른 종류에 비해서 다량 함유한 것으로 나타났다. 흑미는 총식이섬유 함량이 높고 pectic substances, hemicellulose, uronic acid 함량이 높아서 콜레스테롤 저하 등의 효과가 기대되며 고섬유식품으로서 조리 특성 연구가 필요한 것으로 사료된다.리하였다. 얻어진 소견(所見)은 다음과 같았다. 1. 모년령(母年齡), 임신회수(姙娠回數), 임신기간(姙娠其間), 출산시체중등(出産時體重等)의 제요인(諸要因)은 주산기사망(周産基死亡)에 대(對)하여 통계적(統計的)으로 유의(有意)한 영향을 미치고 있어 $25{\sim}29$세(歲)의 연령군에서, 2번째 임신과 2번째의 출산에서 그리고 만삭의 임신 기간에, 출산시체중(出産時體重) $3.50{\sim}3.99kg$사이의 아이에서 그 주산기사망률(周産基死亡率)이 각각 가장 낮았다. 2. 사산(死産)과 초생아사망(初生兒死亡)을 구분(區分)하여 고려해 볼때 사산(死産)은 모성(母性)의 임신력(姙娠歷)과 매우 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 사료(思料)되었고 초생아사망(初生兒死

  • This paper describes a development of system that enables the user to simulate the rockfall and landslide from slopes using physical engine. Until now, it will not be able to accomplish the virtual experiment of three-dimensional interpretation about slope informations, stability evaluation, the rockfall and landslide simulation, etc., because of absence of three-dimensional simulation systems which relates with slopes. With like that reason, this paper developed a simulator which is identical or similar the rockfall and the landslide where the possibility which will occur or occurred from actuality is high very actual condition from virtual experiment. For a simulator development, this paper uses the physical engine which is mainly used from computer game and animation development etc., And it will be show the process where the rockfall and landslide occurs with simulator. This simulator which sees the process where the rockfall and the landslide occur from three-dimension computer graphics theory and the physical engine, is a system which is the possibility of showing actual feeling. Therefore, the result of this paper is applied in vehicle travelling guidance system and intelligence traffic systematic etc., because of creates visual service and three-dimensional application of the slope information database which is developed in existing, and will be able to forecast the upgrade of user benefit planning and a service.

Suggestion of Customized Professional Guide Services through Domestic and Foreign Travel Platforms (국내외 여행 플랫폼을 통한 맞춤형 전문 가이드 서비스 제안)

  • This study includes services that require six professional guides - health care, exhibition performance, restaurant, shopping, business and daily life - as well as a trip-based tour, along with solving existing problems that may occur on domestic and overseas trips, and proposes services that connect users with proven professional guides. As a result of previous research, the most needed services among overseas travel were air tickets, accommodation, transportation, and guides, but as Korea enters an aging society, professional guide services are expected to increase daily demand. Based on this, the service technology, user scenarios and brand development were presented. This Service Proposal provides users with a personalized guide to knowledge or experience that they have not previously known, providing them with a wealth of experience. In addition, guides can help develop new fields of expertise and help improve professional guides' capabilities. Finally, the platform service is meaningful in that it enables the creation of jobs by enabling everyone to engage in economic activities, as it allows users to provide services through their own capabilities while at the same time being convenient for them.
