The Relationship between Learners' Epistemological Beliefs About the Nature of Physics Knowledge and Physics Knowing During Conceptual Change in Mechanical Energy (학습자의 역학적 에너지에 대한 개념변화 중에 살펴본 물리지식과 앎에 대한 인식론적 신념간의 관계)

  • This study focused on research that illustrates the important interplay between learners' epistemological beliefs about science knowledge, physics textbook knowledge and knowing physics in the classroom. Also this study investigated learners' conceptual changes on the value of mechanical energy. To explore these topics, six sophomores were chosen as participants. Three categories were introduced to classify how participants' understanding of the nature of science knowledge, physics textbook knowledge has been linked with epistemological beliefs of knowing physics. The three categories were (1)receiving physics knowledge as authority, (2)receiving physics knowledge as the perception of teacher's role and (3)understanding physics knowledge as the perception that science knowledge is a product of a variety of human ideas. These categories were also concerned with construction of individual conceptions of mechanical energy. The participants who understood physics knowledge as the perception that science knowledge is a product of a variety of human ideas naturally used metacognitive strategy in classroom compared to other participants. And they had scientific conceptions about the value of mechanical energy. Others who were passive in classroom had unscientific conceptions about the value of mechanical energy due to definition of energy and epistemological beliefs about the nature of science knowledge. In the process of their conceptual changes on the value of mechanical energy, it was important to understand an instrumental aspect of scientific knowledge and to think about the relation between formulae and physical phenomena.

A Study on Instructors' Perspective of Online General Education Classes - Focusing on the Case of C University (온라인 교양 수업에 대한 대학 교원의 인식)

  • This study aimed to understand and analyze the instructors' class satisfaction and the effectiveness of online general education classes perceived by instructors after inevitable COVID-19. A total of 54 instructors participated in the survey conducted at the end of the spring semester 2021 at C University located Gyeongsangnam-do. Findings revealed that instructors' satisfaction with their online classes was relatively low(2.80), and they negatively perceived their online classes. Also they show negative perception of the variable, interaction with learners(2.87). However, they show higher satisfaction with the next variables than the overall satisfaction; class management, online learning platform, and asynchronous online learning. Plus, a statistically significant result is that online learning platform have the biggest effect on the instructors' class satisfaction. Therefore, we need to know that instructors have to get familiar with the online learning platform and universities help them provide a variety of training sessions regarding online learning platforms. This study has limitations in that it was conducted only at one college and the limited number of variables was measured.

  • u-learning (Ubiquitous Learning) 환경에서는 학습자들이 언제, 어디에서나 어떤 단말기로도 자유롭게 학습할 수 있는 학습자 중심의 교육과정이 가능해야 한다. 최근 각광을 받고 있는 태블릿 (Tablet) PC는 펜을 주로 입력 매개로 활용하고, 음성을 인식하여 이를 문자로 변환하여 저장할 수 있는 기능도 가지고 있어 초등교육 현장에 적합한 단말기이다. 또한 PBL (Problem-based Learning)은 학습자들이 자기주도적으로 문제를 해결해 가는 과정에서 문제해결력과 비판적 사고 기능을 신장시킬 수 있는 학습형태로 태블릿 PC 기반의 PBL 학습시스템은 u-learning 환경에서 학습자 중심의 교육과정 실현에 적합한 시스템이다. 본 연구에서는 태블릿 PC 기반의 PBL 학습시스템의 인터페이스 설계 방안을 제시해 보았다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 사용자 인터페이스의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습의 프로세스를 프로젝트의 목적 및 과제 파악 단계, 학습계획 수립단계, 자료의 수집 및 정리단계, 프로젝트 마무리 단계로 구분하고, 각 단계에서의 학습자의 활동을 지원하는 시스템으로 구성한다. 둘째, 태블릿 PC 기반에서의 학습 활동에 서투른 학습자도 직관적으로 접근 할 수 있도록 인터페이스에 아이콘을 적절하게 활용한다. 셋째, 태블릿 PC에 펜이나 음성으로 입력된 자료를 문자, 도형, 이미지로 손쉽게 저장하고 축적할 수 있도록 한다. 넷째, 학습자들간의 상호작용과 교사의 피드백을 손쉽게 할 수 있도록 게시판, 자료실, 통합 메시지함의 기능을 활성화한다.

과거에 대한 반성과 새로운 2000년대 수학교육의 전망

  • 지금까지 학생들에게 어렵고 싫어하는 과목으로 인식되어온 수학교과목을, 생활중심의 수학을 도입하는 새로운 제7차 교육과정기부터 학습자에게 좀더 가깝게 다가설 수 있는 교과목으로 변신하기 위해 수학과 교수 ${\cdot}$ 학습 및 평가의 변화를 비롯한 여러 가지의 대책이 요망되고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 지난 20세기의 수학교육의 변천과정과 이에 따라 개정되어 온 우리 나라 수학 교육과정의 흐름을 살펴보고, 아울러 최근 교육 선진국들의 수학교육 동향을 탐색하여 이를 바탕으로 다가오는 새천년의 우리 나라 수학교육의 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

Analyzing the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) education program based on design thinking process (디자인씽킹 프로세스 기반의 인공지능(AI) 교육 프로그램 적용 효과분석)

  • At the beginning of the discussion of AI education in K-12 education, the study was conducted to develop and apply an AI education program based on Design Thinking and analyze the effects of the AI education programs. In the AI education program, students explored and defined the AI problems they were interested in, gathered the necessary data to build an AI model, and then developed a project using scratch. In order to analyze the effectiveness of the AI education program, the change of learner's perception of the value of AI and the change of AI efficacy were analyzed. The overall perception of the AI project was also analyzed. As a result, AI efficacy was significantly increased through the experience of carrying out the project according to the Design Thinking process. In addition, the efficacy of solving problems with AI was influenced by the level of use of programming languages. The learner's overall perception of the AI project was positive, and the perceptions of each stage of the AI project (AI problem understanding and problem exploration, practice, problem definition, problem solving idea implementation, evaluation and presentation) was also positive. This positive perception was higher among students with high level of programming language use. Based on these results, the implications for AI education were suggested.

  • 컴퓨터 교육은 실습 위주로, 컴퓨터를 도구적으로 활용하는 소프트웨어 활용 수업이 대부분을 차지하고 있으며, 단순한 컴퓨터 활용의 실습 수업은 학습자로 하여금 흥미를 잃게 하고 문제해결력과 창의성 개발을 저하 시킨다는 문제점들이 제기되어 왔다. 이에 개정된 7차 교육과정은 이러한 소프트웨어 활용 위주 교육의 문제점을 인식하고 컴퓨터 과학, 원리 위주의 교육으로 변화 하였다. 본 연구는 개정된 제7차 교육 과정이 컴퓨터 과학 교육으로 변화됨에 따라 컴퓨터 과학의 내용을 보다 흥미롭고 쉽게 이해시키기 위하여 언플러그드 학습 시스템을 개발 하였다. 컴퓨터 과학의 추상적이고 개념적인 내용은 중등학교의 교육과정으로는 다소 쉽지 않은 내용이며, 이론 위주의 교육과정은 학생들에게 흥미 없는 교과로 비추어 질 수 있지만, 정보 교과를 위한 언플러그드 학습 시스템을 통해 흥미 있는 교과로 인식이 변화될 것으로 기대된다.

Assessment of Need for Nutritional Education in Male Workers Living in Busan (부산지역 산업체 남성 근로자의 영양교육에 대한 요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the need for nutritional education in male workers living in Busan, Korea. This study surveyed 310 industrial workers at five companies in Busan using a questionnaire. According to the results, need for nutritional education scored 3.60/5.00 points. The usage rate of mass media as a means of acquiring nutritional information was significantly higher (P<0.001) in subjects in their 50s compared to other age groups. Regarding scores on need for nutritional education according to theme, 'balanced eating habits' showed the highest score, followed by 'food safety', 'diet therapy related to a disease', and 'food hygiene and food poisoning prevention'. In terms of frequency of nutritional education, 29.0% of subjects considered 'biannually' to be desirable, whereas 25.8% and 21.0% considered 'annually' and 'quarterly' to be desirable, respectively. The results of this study suggest that nutritional education for industrial workers should be implemented in various ways in accordance with their characteristics. Furthermore, considering workers' low awareness levels of the need for nutritional education, employees are required to take the education in order to encouraged to improve their nutritional status and commit to a desirable diet.

Development of a Tailored Mobile Application to Improve Elementary School Students' Competencies of Emotional Awareness and Empathy (초등학생들의 감정인식과 공감능력 향상을 위한 맞춤형 모바일 앱 개발)

  • Recently youth problems such as school violence and bullying are becoming increasingly lower age. In order to overcome this situation highlights the importance of education and the emotions, which in analyzing the existing mobile app, only the most fun-oriented approach has been made and the information presented. It focuses on the emotion awareness and empathy abilities of learners diagnosis, training, application can be made at the level of educational mobile app prototype was developed. First, self-understanding, self-expression, others-understanding, and empathy of emotional competency derived from review of emotional awareness skills training programs. Second, by analyzing the existing emotion recognition app macro-principles and micro-strategy of mobile app's designs were derived. Third, accordi was conducted on prototype of storyboard and app the completed prototype was completed. The proposed app is a fun and learning by doing, also Depending on students' level of performance can be customized. The proposed mobile app is efficient and effective, engaging learning space as a systematic training in the diagnosis and the emotions through the elementary students will be able to improve emotional awaeness competency.

Changes in Perceptions of Elementary School Preservice Teachers about Mathematical Modeling (수학적 모델링에 대한 초등학교 예비교사들의 인식변화)

  • Recently, as the educational paradigm shifts from teacher-centered to learner-centered, the active construction of knowledge of learners is becoming more important. Accordingly, classes using mathematical modeling are receiving attention. However, existing research is focused on teachers or middle and high school students, so it is difficult to apply the contents and results of the research to preservice teachers. Therefore, in this study, the experience of mathematical modeling was examined for elementary school preservice teachers. And we looked at how positive experiences of mathematical modeling change their perceptions. As a result of the study, elementary school preservice teachers had very little experience in mathematical modeling during their school days. In addition, it was found that the perceptions changed more positively than when a theoretical class on mathematical modeling was conducted, rather than when the experience of mathematical modeling was actually shared. Based on the results of this study, implications were suggested in the course of training preservice teachers.

Learners' Perception on Career Education Programs in the Public Education for Gifted Students in Humanities and Social Science (인문사회 영재를 위한 공교육의 진로교육 프로그램에 대한 학습자의 인식)

  • This study reviewed the current state of career education programs, especially for giftd students in humanities and social science, in the public education system of South Korea, and investigated how those gifted students perceive on career education programs for them. Gifted students and their career education teachers were surveyed, and related documents were also widely collected and analyzed. The results showed that (1) 56% of gifted students in mamanities and social science wanted to pursue careers related to language abilities, and that (2) gifted students in humanities and social science find less opportunities, compared to gifted students in math and science, to participate in career education programs related to their talent areas. These findings are expected to be considered when career education programs are designed and implimented for gifted students in the areas of humanities and social science.
