This study aims to suggest the ways to reinforce academic library's supports for users' class·learning activities. For this purpose, this study collected the development plans of academic libraries in Korea, and analysed the plans for supporting class·learning activities. As a result, it is shown that the most libraries emphasized 'expansion of learning material' and marked it on development plan. As subsequent plans, libraries provided the action plans of 'expansion of reading education and reading programs', 'expansion of electronic materials', 'expansion of characterized materials' one after another. This study suggests 'user-centered collection development and expansion of learning materials', 'activation of library services making use of big data', 'enlargement of engagement services for handicapped and foreign students' as ways to strengthen the services of academic libraries to support class·learning activities of users.

목적 : 현재 우리 사회는 건강증진에 대한 욕구가 증가함에 따라 보건의료에서 질적 서비스향상이 요구되고 있고, 구강진료를 분담하는 치과위생사들도 보다 전문적인 역할을 수행하기 위해서는 지식과 기술의 수준향상이 필요하다. 이에 치과위생사의 질적 수준을 향상시키는 데 가장 빠르고 효과적인 방법이 국가시험제도이며 국가시험에서의 타당성과 신뢰성을 높이고 필요한 과목과 내용을 직무를 중심으로 조정한다면 가장 좋은 방법이라고 사료되어 현행 우리나라 치과위생사 국가시험제도에 따른 문제점을 파악하고 캐나다 국가시험 제도와의 비교를 통해 문제점을 분석하고 이에 따른 개선책을 알아보았다. 방법 : 전국 치과위생사 교육기관에 근무하는 교수와 의료기관에 종사하는 치과위생사 중에서 최근 국가시험 응시경험자를 대상으로 2008년 6월 9일부터 6월 23일까지 설문조사를 실시하였으며 E-mail 과 Fax를 이용하였다. 캐나다 국가시험제도는 National Dental Examinations American Dental Association. National Board Dental Hygiene Examination Candidate Guide자료를 사용하여 비교하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS통계프로그램(Version 11.0)을 이용, Chi-square 검정을 하였으며, Fisher's Exact Test에 의한 검정을 실시하였다. 결과 : 1. 국가시험과목구성은 현행 국가시험과목구성에 문제가 있는 것으로 사료되어 과목조정 필요성이 큰 것으로 나타났고, 특히 대학근무자가, 나이가 많을수록, 재직기간이 길수록 더 높았다. 2. 국가시험 문제의 유형은 암기해석 문제가 대부분이었고 난이도는 비교적 양호하였으며, 전문성도 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 3. 과목조정 필요성은 구강생물학개론, 치과임상학 순으로 상대적으로 높았다. 캐나다 국가시험과 비교해 보면 치과임상학과 구강위생학개론 분야의 조정이 더욱 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 4. 한국과 캐나다의 국가시험제도는 형식은 비슷하나 내용과 과목의 구성에서는 큰 차이가 있었다. 5. 캐나다의 국가시험과 비교 시 한국은 치과위생사의 포괄적인 치과위생관리능력을 평가하기 어려웠다. 결론 : 이상의 결과로 보면 현행 국가시험은 과목 구성이 부적절하므로 조정의 필요성이 시급한 것으로 조사되었으며, 캐나다 국가시험과는 과목구성에서 큰 차이가 있었고 치과위생사에게 요구되는 포괄적 치과위생관리능력을 평가할 수 없는 것으로 조사되어 현행 국가시험 개선이 요구되었다.

This study reviewed the structural and operational systems of two professional learning communities in Korean society and analyzed their strengths and weaknesses: the Association of Korean History Teachers and the Communities of Elementary School Classroom Management. In order to analyze these cases, Robey's organizational change model was used as a theoretical frame. Two research methods were mainly employed for this study: literature review and on-site interviews. The analysis found several strengths (easy accessibility, led by teachers' initiative and autonomous will, abundant and practical teaching solutions) and weaknesses (financial burden, lack of theoretical background, sporadic participants). In conclusion, this study suggests three strategies for an educational leader who has an important role in developing a teacher's professionalism: 1) Make an institutional effort to stimulate teachers' motivation to learn, 2) Create a strong network of university professors and other experts for career advice, 3) Build a synthesized and consolidated system.

One of the main objects of geometry in mathematics education is to improve students' geometric intuition capability and logical reasoning capability based on them. A visual element related to intuition plays an important role in teaching and learning of geometry. Therefore, in this research, we focus on the development of multimedia title available to dynamic operation about visual elements and verify of effect of its application. This title for the learning of "the Pythagorean theorem and its practical use" in the third grade of middle school is designed and implemented by an authoring tool, Toolbook. And it enables learners to study mathematics individually and can be applied to the educational field, too. And we taught two groups, the applied group and the compared one of the second grade of middle school and surveyed Questions and evaluated study achievement. We calculated study achievement of two groups on t-test using SPSS. As the result, we knew that the applied group is higher than the compared one in the study achievement and provision of dynamic operation possibility on visual elements make students know very high learning effect and help improvement of intelligent capability.

What is the life of an assistant professor working at a college of education look like? The purpose of this paper is to describe and understand the life of an assistant professor as a science education researcher and as a teacher educator from exploring his life in a local national university. The researcher (I) conducted an autobiographic research in which I reconstructed and reflected my life by myself. I collected data/records on the life of myself, and developed a framework to classify them. The life of an assistant professor was categorized into the official life at the university and the personal life, and the former was sorted into education, research, and service and the latter was divided into personal and family. From the various profiles of my life, I found the main theme of 'change' and 'learning,' from which I reconstructed my life in narratives. I can express myself as an assistant professor with 'from myself to others,' 'balancing society and isolation,' and 'increasing room to maneuver through continuous learning.' I reflected my life and the role of a professor at a college of education, and discussed the educational implication of the result.

This study investigated the learning process of Chines international student within a technology environment, who was studying in Korea to be well equipped as a math teacher in future. Her activities were observed and guided in a class for pre-service teachers in one university, Kyunggido, in the second semester of 2014. She experienced obstacles such as the lacks of comprehending Korean sentences, Korean math terminologies, mathematical concepts, and fidelities of technology in her learning. She was recovered by bilingual effect, visualization activities, repetition activities, and group activities. There was a learning helper who made her learning possible in a bilingual way. Thus, the bilingual education is crucial for students with multi-cultural background.

Recently, The E-Learning becames popular in modern education society, and the education of E-Learning form increased. among them, the leadership education which cultivate the leader who is a present community leader role is more important. The Leadership-activity give effects to consultant and consulters through the relationship each other. However, the leadership-activity is difficult to be reified because it differs from concepts of E-learning that is one-direction teaching mechanism. Beside, the restriction in time and space and considered as important factors because of offline characteristics. The paper presents an online mentoring community form unities among professors, student, and managers having the same subjects in virtual spaces. The community is based on the Leadership-activity. The community system contributes in aspects to a new evaluation mechanism and a new method to communication between mentors and mentees. The paper introduces the system architectures and the implementation method for the presenting community system in details.

This study examines the influence of the bodily interaction with digital technology on meaning-making process in a mathematical activity. Increasing interest in the use of multi-touch dynamic digital technology has brought the movement of the body to the center of research focus in recent mathematics education literature. Thereby, we investigate the process in which the meaning of the density of rational numbers emerges around the bodily interaction on the multi-touch dynamic digital technology. We analyze a case of a small group of primary school students with microethnography. In the result, the students formed the higher level of meaning of the density, where the finger movement of zooming in-and-out played a crucial role throughout the meaning-maknig process.

The purpose of this study is to suggest ways to promote student engagement by analyzing how a teacher's student engagement strategies and questioning strategies affect class participation and problem solving in a peer mentoring teaching method. As for the purpose, after recording 7th grader's classroom using a peer mentoring and transcribing classroom discourse, we analyzed student engagement strategies for class participation and questioning strategies for helping mathematical concepts and problem solving, and compared mathematics achievements in mid-term and final exams. As results, in learning environments based on comfortable atmosphere, diverse student engagement strategies and appropriate questioning strategies with effectiveness of peer mentoring encouraged students to participate in class by motivating them, helped them to develop mathematical concepts and deepen understanding of problem solving through effective social interactions, and improved student achievement in mathematics. The results can practically help to develop class design considering both student engagement strategy and questioning strategy by specifically presenting a teaching method for promoting student engagement and teacher's contributions to it.

Strategic information systems assist organization with the significant opportunity to gain competitive advantage in executing its business plans and realizing its business goals. The universities establish long-range plan of information systems in an effort to provide just-in-time, useful, efficient and effective information services to their members such as professors, students, and staffs when carrying out various organizational activities. The university information systems started from the primitive computer-based application, extended to the administrative and educational e-transformation, even to the virtual university concept. Through an empirical analysis and complementary case examples, the current study carefully chose three Korean universities according to their chronological importance, that have undergone the information systems planning process years from 1995 to 2001. These universities then, were compared in terms of the information technology architecture: the information architecture, infra architecture, and information management architecture. These three areas of system were cross-examined under the consideration of the evolution of information technology architecture, and its impact on the development of university e-transformation. As part of a fulfillment plan to satisfy the needs of customers of current trend, it is evident that the university e-transformation provides a stepladder to highly competitive, first class university in the market, through achieving the educational advancement, research enhancement, and administrative efficiency. The result of the study analysis indicates that, of the three architectures examined, the weakness showed in the information management architecture. Therefore it is crucial for the university staffs, managers and professors to understand the significance of the successful implementation of the information system and its maintenance. Our study certainly will act as a catalyst for the promotion of the future university e-transformation projects.
