A distributed multimedia school system is developed for the multimedia classroom at high school and university. The system is designed and implemented for students to improve the learning efficiency through the personalized multimedia contents and pace of learning. The previously developed multimedia information retrieval systems have some limitations on being applied to the multimedia classroom: expensive cost per stream or poor retrieval quality inappropriate for education, unscalability of system and service, unfamiliar proprietary client environment, and difficulty for teachers to use the authoring tools and manage the authored teaching materials. The system we developed overcomes the above problems. It is so scalable as to be applicable not only to a segmented classroom but also to the world wide Internet. The stream server is one of the components of the system: stream servers clients, a service gateway system, and a authoring management system. This paper describes the design and implementation of the stream server. A single stream server can simultaneously playback the multimedia streams as many as clients at one classroom. This is achieved only by the software engine without any changes of the hardware architecture. The systematic coupling with other components gives the scalability of the system and the flexibility of services.
The purpose of this study was to develop an observation and analysis instrument for invention educational activities for monitoring and improving the educational activities of inventions. For this study, a draft of observation and analysis instrument was developed through review of literatures. It was validated through opinion gathering from 10 experts of invention educational expert opinion convergence based on the content validity index (CVI) of Fehring (1987). The results of the study were as follows: First, the frame of observation and analysis of the invention education activity consists of three dimensions of observation object, observation phase and observation contents. Second, the instrument for observing and analyzing invention education activities are composed of analysts, observation subjects, observation class contents, teacher observation and analysis, student observation and analysis, educational environment and task observation and analysis. Third, the developed tools were designed to describe opinions and general opinions about individual observation factors besides the 5 - point Likert scale. Through this, it is expected that educational activities will be improved in addition to qualitative evaluation through monitoring of future invention education activities.

To increase the acceptance of multicultural youth, it is necessary to grasp the factors influencing multicultural acceptance. This study was conducted to provide basic data for a future study for the promotion of multicultural acceptance of adolescents by systematically analyzing research trends in factors affecting the multicultural acceptance of Korean adolescents. From 2008 to 2017, we searched 6,435 papers combining the keywords 'multicultural,' 'acceptability,' 'teenager,' 'middle school' and 'high school,' and analyzed six articles. The qualitative evaluation refers to Community Guide and STrengthening the Reporting of OBservational studies in Epidemiology(STROBE). The results revealed that factors influencing multicultural acceptance include gender, experience of overseas visits, life satisfaction, parental neglect and abuse, parent education, school and community factors, and community awareness. Multicultural acceptance of adolescents in Korea was influenced not only by specific factors, but also by various factors such as individual, family, school, and community. These factors were also found to change with age. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to provide an environment and education that promote multicultural acceptance.
This study was to gain a suggestion how to educate the science gifted student and manage the science gifted education center by analyzing the science gifted student's perception of the science, scientist and vocation. One seventy and eight science gifted students were involved in the questionnaire to investigating the perception of science, scientist and vocation. As the results, many of science gifted students thought the convenience as the positive aspect of science and the environmental pollution as the negative aspect of science. Science gifted students considered most scientists a diligent person, researcher and what's more, they are careless about home. They suggested much more of foreign scientists like Einstein, Edison, etc. than Korean ones as respectable scientists. Scientist is a major vocation that they want and know in the science area, while some students want to be a doctor, occurred to science singer. The mystery, difficulty, complexity, scientist, etc. occurred to science gifted students when they heard the ‘science’. According to the results, there are in need of the new educational programs for the science gifted students and science gifted education center. One of the aims of the science gifted education center is the judgment and cultivation of the science gifted student. Therefore, the science gifted student to be educated to improve positively the images of science and scientist. In addition to, they should get a concern about the vocation in science area and to be a famous scientist.
The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of 1 or 2 years old infant to target infant care facilities and the sense of family activities conducted in conjunction with the infant's physical development and infant-parent interaction. The purpose of this study, research questions are as follows. First, child care center-family linked sensory activity is effective in the infant's physical development? Second, child care center-family linked sensory activity is effective in the infant-parent interaction? The subjects of this study are 56 infants of 1-2 year old and their mother or father 56 people in S and D infant care facilities in K city. S infant care center, experimental group, carry out child care center-family linked sensory activity. D infant care center is control group to apply an integrated program. The child care center-family linked sensory activity are conduct on 24 times, 3 times a week, totally 8 weeks. The results were as follows. First, child care center-family linked sensory activities are partially effective on the infant's physical development than the control group. Therefore, in order to promote the development of the infant's physical development, home and child care center will be done in conjunction with sensory activities are needed. Second, child care center-family linked sensory activities had positive effect on infant-parent interaction than the control group. Therefore, to improve infant-parent interaction, it is necessary to carry out child care center-family linked sensory activities. In conclusion, child care center-family linked sensory activities are correlated in positive effects on the physical development of infants and the infant-parent interaction.
The nature of science has been recognized in a great deal in the field of science education. However, only few innovative programs are offered for science-gifted students to improve their recognition of the nature of science. The current study describes and analyzes science-gifted students' understandings of the nature of science (NOS). In addition, the study looks into contradictory views among the aspects of NOS, which are fundamental data in constructing target programs on NOS for science gifted students. Data used in this study were collected from 73 middle school science-gifted students using an open-ended questionnaire, VNOS. The results of this study showed that the participants' understanding of NOS was significantly distributed on naive or transition view except for 'tentative NOS', and the results revealed inconsistent view among the aspects of NOS. This study proposes two suggestions to enhance the recognition of science-gifted on NOS of science to informed state and to have consistent perspectives with other areas. First, the role of experiment has to be changed-it should be the process in constructing scientific knowledge rather than an instrument to check scientific knowledge to transform perspective on experimental data and scientific knowledge. Second, various opportunities must be provided to science-gifted students, so they can experience the culture and community of scientists and science to gain a wider insight of science.
The culture and education are very active with the active policy and support to form the government's Maker Movement. The purpose of this study is to grasp the current status of the education sector of the domestic maker movement, which is increasing recently, and to propose a plan for activating maker education for the development of a positive direction. To this end, first, the current status and problems of domestic maker training are derived through in-depth interviews with existing maker training operators and participants. Second, based on the contents of the interview script, keyword analysis and its characteristics through the qualitative survey analysis program (NVIVO) are identified. Third, based on the analysis results, we propose a plan and development direction for domestic maker education. Based on the educators who performed maker training and the students involved, professional maker teachers were required for the professionalism of education, and the expansion of maker channels and professional networking of participating students was required. In addition, there was a need for specialized programs and appropriate policy support that reflected the characteristics of maker training. This study aims at contributing to the activation of maker education, which is a major field of maker movement, by helping to improve concrete support methods, training related educators, and educational environment for maker education.
This study aims at investigating the characteristics of trends of future education over time though the literature review and examining the accuracy of the framework for forecasting future education proposed by the previous studies by comparing the outcomes between the literature review and media articles. Thus, this study collects the articles dealing with future education searched from the Web of Science and categorized them into four periods during the new millennium. The new articles from media were selected to find out the present of education so that we can figure out the appropriateness of the proposed framework to predict the future of education. Research findings reveal that gradual tendencies of topics could not be found except teacher education and they are diverse from characteristics of agents (students and teachers) to the curriculum and pedagogical strategies. On the other hand, the results of analysis on the media articles focuses more on the projects launched by the government and the immediate responses to the COVID-19, as well as educational technologies related to big data and artificial intelligence. It is surprising that only a few key words are occupied in the latest articles from the literature review and many of them have not been discussed before. This indicates that the predictive framework is not effective to establish the long-term plan for education due to the uncertainty of educational environment, and thus this study will give some implications for developing the model to forecast the future of education.
Social changes have added to new challenges to adult literacy policies in Korea. These changes not only require most adults to improve their literacy skills, but also require them to learn new competencies. In this context, this study aims to examine whether the Korean literacy policy has properly responded to the new literacy needs. For this purpose, this study not only aims to examine the adult literacy policies of UK and Australia, but also plans to suggest implications for the Korean government. The findings of the study are as follow. Both UK and Australian governments have developed literacy education funding programs, performance management system, and professional development program for literacy educators, all of which are needed for the provision of high quality adult literacy programs. The Korean government has also implemented the similar system since it formulated the adult literacy policy in 2006. However, there are significant differences between the Korean case and those of Australia and UK. Where both UK and Australia governments target every adult who has needs for literacy education, the Korean government only targets the poorly-educated elderly. Accordingly, the Korean government has failed to accommodate various literacy needs of adults. As a way of addressing the limitations of the Korean policy, the government should innovate the adult literacy policy in a way that it helps every adult develop knowledge and skills at anytime and anywhere.
This study investigates the relationship between the social supports & the transformational leadership from career mentors and high school students' GRIT & career preparation behavior. The purpose of this study was to provide baseline data for Development of Career-program so that they can provide effective career advice to students, through analyzing preceding researches that highlight the impact from career mentors on students' GRIT and career preparation behavior. For this study, the questionnaires for students' GRIT & career preparation behavior were completed by 257 sophomore high school students participating in the career mentor program. also, This data was analyzed to find student's perception of social supports and transformational leadership from career mentors. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship among four variable(GRIT, career preparation behavior, career mentor's social supports, career mentor's transformational leadership) and regression analysis was used to find the influence from the career mentor's social supports and career mentor's transformational leadership on student's GRIT & career preparation behavior. The result showed the change of students' GRIT & career preparation behavior have risen on average. Also, it showed the change of students' career preparation behavior is influenced by career mentor's emotional support, informational support and individualized consideration. Lastly, the change of students' GRIT is influenced by career mentor's emotional support, appraisal support and individualized consideration. This result was able to identify the relationship and influence of career mentor who were limited to social support by their parents and teachers. And, it suggests that the appropriate social supports need to be provided to students by understanding the type of social supports that meet student's expectations.
