The Effects of YouTube Usage Motives and Affinity on User Activity (유튜브 이용 동기 및 친밀도가 이용자 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • With the growth of information technology, people consume online video contents via mobile phone without time and location constraints. Drawing upon uses and gratification theory, this study examines the effects of usage motives and affinity on user activities on YouTube. Specifically, user activities are subdivided into pre-viewing and during-viewing activities in this study. Results show that convenient entertainment and social interaction are the significant indicators for pre-viewing activities, whereas five different motives significantly influence during-viewing activities. Furthermore, affinity is the significant determinant of the both activities. The theoretical and practical implications are also discussed.

Convergence Study on the Effects of Stress and Gambling Change Motivation on Gambling Abstinence Self-Efficacy among College Students Using Gambling (대학생 도박경험자의 스트레스 및 도박변화동기가 단도박 자기효능감에 미치는 융복합 영향 연구)

  • This study was attempted to identify the convergence factors that affected the gambling abstinence self-efficacy among college students using gambling. The participants were 134 students with gambling experience at two universities in C city and G city. The results of this study are as follows. Stress(r=-.314, p<.001) and gambling change motivation(r=.272, p=.001) showed a significant correlation with gambling abstinence self-efficacy in correlation analysis. The greatest influence on gambling abstinence self-efficacy in multiple regression analysis was identified in order of stress(${\beta}=-.29$, p<.001), gambling change motivation (${\beta}=.25$, p=.003). The results of this study suggest that a gambling prevention education program which can manage stress and strengthen the gambling change motivation of college students using gambling is needed to improve the gambling abstinence self-efficacy.

Analysis of the Mediating Effect of Academic Self-efficacy in the Effect of Motivation to Participate of Online Lifelong Education Using YouTube on Learning Flow (유튜브를 활용한 온라인 평생교육의 참여동기가 학습몰입에 미치는 영향에서 학업적 자기효능감의 매개효과 분석)

  • This study analyzed the structural relationship between motivation to participate in online lifelong education through YouTube, academic self-efficacy, and learning flow, where learners are rapidly increasing due to the spread of COVID-19. For this study, an online survey was conducted from July 16 to 30, 2021 for adult learners living in the metropolitan area. A total of 428 people participated in the survey, and a total of 409 copies of the results were analyzed, excluding 19 insincere responses. The main analysis results are as follows. First, The fitness of the research model was verified to be suitable for all analysis. Second, as a result of confirming the coefficients and statistical significance of each pathway in the research model, the motivation to participate in YouTube lifelong education was learning flow and academic self-efficacy, and academic self-efficacy also had a positive effect on learning flow. Third, it was confirmed that the effect of participation motivation in YouTube lifelong education on learning flow through academic self-efficacy was a statistically significant partial mediation. This study is meaningful in that it verified the structural relationship analysis between participation motive, academic self-efficacy, and learning flow in online lifelong education using YouTube reflecting the digital transformation of lifelong education due to COVID-19. Reflecting the need for re-regulation of lifelong education formed after COVID-19 and the flow of digital transformation through the research results, we discussed how lifelong education can enhance learners' motivation to participate and strengthen learning flow through academic self-efficacy as a medium.

Influence of learning motivation, communication skill, academic self-efficacy on self-directed learning ability in nursing students (간호학생의 학습동기, 의사소통능력, 학업적 자기효능감이 자기주도학습능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate learning motivation, communication skill, academic self-efficacy which influence self-directed learning ability in nursing students. A total of 194 second year students were recruited from nursing department in Gwangju. Structured questionnaire was self-administrated from November 2 to 30, 2015. In self-directed learning ability, there were significant differences in gender, personality disposition, applied motivation, satisfaction on major, satisfaction of campus life, and school grade. In multiple regression analysis, learning motivation, communication skill, academic self-efficacy, satisfaction on major and school grade were significant factors of self-directed learning ability explaining 53.1% of the variables. In conclusion, to enhance self-directed learning ability for nursing students, it is necessary to develop program and curriculum for increasing learning motivation, communication skill, and academic self-efficacy.

A study on the Factors Influencing the Repeat Purchase Intentions of Flower Products (플라워 상품의 재구매의도에 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 -개인소비자를 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to examine the important factors of flower shops' store attributes influencing the repurchase intention for people who buy flowers for themselves with a hedonic shopping motivation. This study was verified by empirical survey and the results are summarized as follow. First, it was found that price, salesperson's professionalism, store accessibility had a significant positive impact on the repurchasing intention of flowers. Second, it was found that price is the first important factor influencing the repurchasing intention of flowers, and next salesperson's professionalism is the second important one, and lastly store accessibility is the third important one. For implications of this study, this study investigated the cause-and-effect relationship between flower shops' store attributes and the repurchasing intention of flowers for people who buy flowers for themselves with a hedonic shopping motivation, so it provides a theoretical foundation for further studies.

  • The public Information systems for destination marketing have poorly operated and failed to satisfy tourists' needs. Public tourism website mainly offers fundamental tourism information such as transportation, lodging and prime attractions, which is mainly specialized in commercial web sites, and fails to attract tourists. For the public benefits, marketing strategy publicl DMOs have to specialize their tourism information, and attract specific target markets. Thus, this study examined the effect of tourism motivations on information search behavior to figure out the importance of tourism information. The results show that the level of escapist motivation positively to the perceived importance of fundamental informations, and the level of activist motivation effects positively to the perceived importance of objective-specific informations. These results give show problems of regional tourism information site and implications are suggested.

A Study on the Influencing Factors of Forest Trail Guide's Organizational Commitment: Focused on the Job Motivation (숲길체험지도사의 조직몰입 영향 요인에 관한 연구: 직무동기를 중심으로)

  • As people's interest in forest trail increases, it has reached a critical time to extend forest trail program. This study clarifies correlation between two variables, organizational commitment and job motivation and identifies the variations in organizational commitment level for job motivation so that the forest trail programs attain its object and meet users' satisfaction. As a result, first, job motivation can be divided into 'personal satisfaction', 'work value', and 'external reward and recognition'; the biggest motivation is 'personal satisfaction', followed by 'work value' and 'external reward and recognition'. Second, job motivation has a positive correlation with organizational commitment. Especially 'personal satisfaction' and 'external reward and recognition' have a positive impact on the organizational commitment. To sum up, the personal satisfaction has a greater impact on organizational commitment than other factors. Therefore, it is needed to draw up measures to increase their personal satisfaction like making them have self esteem from forest trail guide.

Factors Influencing Nursing Students' Intention of Childbirth (간호대학생의 출산의지에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study investigated how the awareness about marriage, the value of children, and the motivation for childrearing influences childbirth will in nursing students. The data was collected from May 1 to May 30, 2019, and 248 data samples were finally used for analysis. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS /WIN 22.0 program. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and multiple regression analysis were all calculated. The average of awareness about marriage was 3.39±.38, the average of the value of children was 2.72±0.39, the average motivation of childrearing was 2.73±0.78 and the average of childbirth will was 3.12±0.48. The childbirth will according to the general characteristics, was significantly different according to age (F=6.002, p=.003). Among the awareness about marriage, conservative view on marriage(r=.207, p=.001), active view on marriage(r=.226, p<.001), instrumental view on marriage(r=.181, p=.004), and motivation of childrearing(r=.283, p<.001) showed positive correlation ed with childbirth will. Childbirth will was negatively correlated with passive view on marriage (r=-.292, p<.001), and the value of children (r=-.226, p<.001). The factors affecting childbirth will of the study subjects were age(β=.155, p=.007), passive view on marriage(β=-.383, p<.001), motivation of childrearing (β=.315, p<.001), and the explanatory power was 23.6%. According to this study, it is necessary to confirm the effects of developing an intervention program and applying this program to improve the decisions of nursing students concerning marriage and having children.

The Effects of Metaverse Related Self-determination on Intention to Continuous Use Through Intrinsic Motivation: Moderating Effect of Member Trust (메타버스 관련 자기결정성이 내적 동기를 통해 지속적 이용 의도에 미치는 영향: 구성원 신뢰의 조절 효과)

  • COVID-19 is forcing people to minimize face-to-face networking activities between members of society, and they are increasing their use of online platforms. In particular, interest in the metaverse, a virtual community with enhanced realism, is growing. Specifically, this study suggests a mechanism to improve the intention to continuous use of metaverse users by using the self-determination theory, and confirms that trust between metaverse members moderates the relationship between self-determination and intrinsic motivation. We obtained 353 samples through a questionnaire targeting those who have used metaverse and verified the hypothesis through structural equation modeling. As a result of the analysis, individual self-determination of the metaverse formed intrinsic motivation such as identification and enjoyment, which affected the intention to continue use, and the trust of metaverse members partially moderated the relationship between self-determination and motivation. The result contributes to the sustainability of the metaverse platform by suggesting an approach to users and the environment to improve the intention of continuous use of metaverse.

A Study on the Motivation for Selection of Korean Language Major by International Students and Their Satisfaction about their Major (외국인 유학생의 한국어 전공에 대한 선택 동기와 전공만족도에 대한 연구)

  • The Korean language major is being activated in line with the increasing number of international students who are studying in South Korea. Therefore, the motivation for selecting a university major varies according to the background, environment, and values of each student. Thus, it is meaningful to examine the motivation of international students to select their major and their satisfaction on the major. In this study, 173 international students living in Seoul were surveyed and the data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 23.0 to demonstrate the structural relationship between their motivation for selecting the major and their satisfaction about the major. From analysis result, their motivation for selecting a Korean language major were classified into internal and external motivations, and their major satisfaction was classified into perception satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and general satisfaction. Regarding the motivations to select a Korean language major, the level of external motivation was very high, and among the major satisfaction, the level of general satisfaction was the highest. Furthermore, the external and internal motives had significant positive effects on all the categories of major satisfaction, including the perception satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and general satisfaction. This study suggests effective methods to improve the satisfaction of international students about the Korean language major such as the provision of information about and opportunities for employment using their major and the provision of a high quality.
