The Influence of Empathy and Communicative Competence on Cultural Competence in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 공감능력과 의사소통능력이 문화적 역량에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between empathy, communicative competence, and cultural competence among nursing students and investigate the factors influencing cultural competence. The subjects of the study consisted of 173 nursing students. Data were analyzed based on Pearson's correlations, and multiple regressions using the SPSS 18.0 program. The mean value of cultural competence was 3.44, showing significant positive correlations with empathy(r=.450, p<.001) and communicative competence(r=.579, p<.001) in nursing students. Empathy, communicative competence and foreign language skill accounted for 37.1% of the total variance in cultural competence among nursing students. Overall cultural competence can be improved by empathy, communicative competence enhancement program.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study aimed to find the relationship between characteristics of cultural exchanges, self-efficacy and cultural competence in Korean nursing students. Method: A total of 301 nursing students participated in this study. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires which were constructed to include the General Self-efficacy Scale, the Caffery Cultural Competence Healthcare Scale(CCCHS), and the Cultural Competence Assessment(CCA). Result: Self-efficacy and cultural competency of participants in this study were shown to have moderate levels (Self-efficacy: M=3.0, SD=0.38; Cultural competency: M=2.8, SD=0.55). And the nursing students who have higher grade and foreign friends were found to have significantly higher self-efficacy and cultural competence. Moreover, there was a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and cultural competency (r=.394, p .001). Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing students need to enhance cultural exchanges and self-efficacy to reinforce cultural competence.

Latent Means Analysis of Perceived Stigma, Psychological Empowerment, Job Satisfaction According to the Working Hours among the Employed People with Mental Illness (취업 정신장애인의 근로시간 형태별 지각된 낙인감, 심리적 역량강화, 직무만족에 대한 잠재평균분석)

  • This study aimed to investigate the differences of perceived stigma, psychological empowerment, job satisfaction according to the working hours by latent means analysis(LMA). To get the results, a survey was conducted, targeting employed people with mental illness. Key outcomes of the analysis were as follows. First, it was verified that perceived stigma and job satisfaction, psychological empowerment had statistically meaningful direct relationships. Second, it was analyzed that psychological empowerment had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between perceived stigma and job satisfaction. Third, according to LMA, full-time group showed higher latent mean values on the perceived stigma and lower latent mean values on the job satisfaction. However, part-time group showed lower latent mean values on the psychological empowerment. Based in these results, comprehensive interventions for activating job satisfaction were proposed.

  • To improve Organization's creative product by using external knowledge and information. This study suggests the procedure among Entrepreneurship, absorptive capacity(Potential absorptive capacity, Realized absorptive capacity), Creative product. To the empirical analysis of the theoretical relationship, The research model was set up through literature research. method Empirical analysis was conducted using total 487 questionnaires from worker of electronic industry in Kyung-buk region. the results of this study are as followings; First, Entrepreneurship related positively to Creative product. Second, Creative product was affected through process in order of Entrepreneurship, Potential absorptive capacity, Realized absorptive capacity. This results contribute to the improvement of organization's Creativity and the utilization of external knowledge.

Structural Relationship between Intellectual Capital and Organizational Performance in a Customer Service Organization: Focused on the Role of Dynamic Capability (고객서비스 조직의 지적자본과 조직성과 간의 구조적 관계: 동적역량의 역할을 중심으로)

  • This study explores which organizational capital is important for the customer service center and how the organizational capital is linked to organization's performance through dynamic capability. In this study, total of 389 employees in customer service centers were surveyed for the analysis. The results indicate that relational capital and organizational culture were positively linked with collaborative behavior, capital share, and capital transformation. Also, structural capital was a significant factor in collaborative behavior. Organizational performance was positively affecting collaborative behavior and capital share. This study provides a practical guideline on how to manage organizational capital and supplement shortcomings for managers and counsellors at the customer service centers. Furthermore, the implications for the reinforcement and development of organizational capital were suggested in building a customer service center as a strategic and fundamental part of the company.

  • With regards to CSR, Proactive CSR has been less researched in small & medium enterprises(SMEs). This research examines empirically the relation between SME's organizational capabilities, proactive CSR and corporate performance as well as a mediating role of proactive CSR between capabilities and corporate performance. Using quantitative data collected from 485 SMEs in Korea, we find that all specified capabilities are positively related with adoption of proactive CSR by SMEs and that proactive CSR is, in turn, associated with an improvement in corporate performance. In addition, we also find a mediating role of proactive CSR on the relationship between organizational capabilities and performance. The study is likely to contribute to both SMEs CSR strategy and RBV research.

  • This study describes the relationship between analysis of global competencies and multiple intelligences among nursing students for the fourth industrial revolution. The survey was conducted to nursing students. and 733 samples were finally applied. Result, Global Competencies in male students significantly higher than women students. There were statically significant association between Global Leader Competency and Multiple Intelligence. Conclusion: This study showed multiple intelligence had relation with Global Leader Competency Therefore, strategy needs to reflect nursing curriculum and education program in nursing students.

The Effects of Core Competencies on the Management Performance of Hospitals : With a Focus on the Mediating Roles of Medical Service Orientation and Internal Customer Orientation (의료기관 핵심역량과 경영성과의 구조적 인과관계 분석 : 의료서비스 지향성과 내부고객 지향성)

  • The Purpose of this study was to empirically investigate the effects of core competencies on the management performance of hospitals and the mediating roles of medical service orientation and internal customer orientation. The sample of this study was composed of 307 employees from 18 general hospitals in Incheon Metropolitan City and Bucheon City. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using structural equation modelling technique. This study found that core competencies had positive effects on the management performance of hospitals and that medical service orientation and internal customer orientation mediated the relationship between core competencies and the management performance of hospitals. The theoretical and practical implications of the results were discussed and the directions for future research were suggested.

Relationships among Information Resources Use, Problem Solving Ability, Nursing Information Literacy Competency in General Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 정보자원이용, 문제해결능력, 간호정보활용역량의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine relationships among information resources use, problem solving ability, nursing information literacy competency in general hospital nurses. The descriptive correlational study design was used. The data were collected from 141 nurses working in the two general hospital located G city using self-reported questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistics 20.0 program. As results of multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting nursing information literacy competency were problem solving ability and electronic information resources use. And this model could explain 38.0%(F=43.73, p<.001). Considering the findings from this study, nurses need to develop problem solving ability and electronic information resources use improvement program for them.

A Study on the Effect of Senior's Entrepreneurial Competency on Entrepreneurial Intention: Focused on the Moderating Effect of Social Support (시니어의 창업역량이 창업의지에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구: 사회적지지 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • In the age of aging society and the difficulties of reemployment environment, senior entrepreneur is increasing as an alternative to solve individual economic problems. However, the survival rate is very low after establishment. This study is a study on the effect of senior's entrepreneurial competency on entrepreneurial intention, and analyzed the relationship between entrepreneurial competency, experience, funding competency, marketing competency, and social support and entrepreneurial intention. For this purpose, we surveyed the potential founders of seniors and used a total of 433 copies. The results of the study are as follows. First, the higher the entrepreneurial competency, in other words, the higher the individual experience, financing competency, and marketing competency, the higher the entrepreneurial intention. Second, social support did not show a significant relationship between entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurial intention. Based on the results of this study, the following implications were derived. For a successful senior entrepreneur, it is necessary to strengthen the entrepreneurial competency and start the business, and in order to cultivate these entrepreneurial competency, entrepreneurial education is needed more widely.
