농약에 대한 소비자와의 대화-안전성을 어떻게 설명할 것인가?(IV)

  • 일반에게 공정한 입장에서 소비자와 커뮤니케이션을 실행하는 수단으로서 "일본농약학회, 지방자치단체, 내각부 식품안전위원회나 농림수산성, 후생노동성 등의 공적기관, 농약공업회나 전국농약협동조합 등 임의단체, 전국농업협동조합이나 전국 판매상 등의 유통업자 등이 실시하는 농약의 안전 사용자 안전 등에 관한 세미나 강습회, 소비자의 간담회", "학회나 농약연구자, 과학리더에 의한 계몽서의 출판, 학회나 업자 단체에 의한 Q&A집의 학회지 게재나 배포". "각종 학회나 공적기관의 홈페이지 계몽 해설문제의 게재", "농약제조 메이커나 임의단체에 의한 인터넷을 통한 메일 잡지 배송", "신문(전국지)를 매개로 한 홍보활동" 등을 들 수 있다. 최근에는 대학에 있어서도 일반사회인(소비자 포함)을 대상으로 한 농약이나 각종 화학물질의 안전성에 관한 공개강좌가 개설되어 있다. 한편 공정한 입장서 농약에 대해서 올바르게 전달한다는 개념에서 출발하지만, 결국엔 상업적 측면이 강한 "재미있고 우습게, 농약이 가지는 잠재적 위험성을 일부러 강조하고, 때로는 과학적 사실과 다른 내용을 의도적 또는 비의도적으로 전달하여 시청자나 독자의 관심을 끌어 시청률이나 발행부수를 신장시키는 것을 목적으로 하는 각종 매스컴으로부터의 막대한 양의 정보발신(모든 매스컴이 해당하는 것은 아님)이 있다. 더욱이 인터넷 사이트에는 종교적 측면이 강한 단체를 포함, 농약의 위험성을 강조하는 일이 있으며 온갖 정보가 넘쳐나고 있다. 물론 공적기관을 포함, 농약의 유용성과 잠재적 위험성에 대하여 공정하고 객관적 입장에서 인터넷을 소개한 정보 발신도 행해지고 있다. "농약은 나쁘고 위험하다"라는 정보로는 센세이셔날 한 상품가치(매스컴측의 보도 메리트)가 있지만 "농약은 안전하고 문제없다"로는 상품가치가 없다고 하는 상업 저널리즘을 드러낸다. "양적으로 압도적인 매스컴 보도"를 뛰어넘어 소비자에게 올바른 정보를 전달, 이해시키는 것은 가능하지 않을까. 다음으로 농약에 관한 리스크커뮤니케이션 수법에 대한 유의점과 과제를 기술한다.

Presence Experience & Effect of the Experiential Exhibition Content (체험형 전시 콘텐츠의 프레즌스 경험과 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the Presence experience, resulting effects, and re-viewing intentions of visitors to experiential exhibition content. For this purpose a survey was conducted targeting 246 visitors to experiential exhibition content based on Hyecho's travel story and SilkRoad cultural heritage. As a result of the survey, understanding and interest in the content material and similar exhibition viewing experience did not affect Presence experience. In addition the higher the Presence experience of exhibition content, the greater the awareness and emotion that is the effect of Presence. And among the effects of Presence, emotion had a positive effect on revisiting intentions. Therefore, it was confirmed that future experiential exhibition contents require planning, production, and exhibition that allow users to experience Presence.

  • There is a rapid increase in the use of digital video information in recent years. Especially, user requires the environment which retrieves video from passive access to active access, to be more efficiently. we need to implement video retrieval system including video parsing, clustering, and browsing to satisfy user's requirement. In this paper, we first divide video sequence to shots which are primary unit for automatic indexing, using a hybrid method with mixing histogram method and pixel-based method. After the shot boundaries are detected, corresponding key frames can be extracted. Key frames are very important portion because they help to understand overall contents of video. In this paper, we first analyze camera operation in video and then select different number of key frames depend on shot complexity. At last, we compose panorama images from shots which are containing panning or tilting in order to provide more useful and understandable browsing environment to users.

  • Recently, interest in HCI has increased domestically among the workers in the Internet business as Internet has entered into its maturing stage in which the focus has been moved from quantitative expansion of web sites to qualitative improvement. However, answering questions like "how HCI can optimize user experience, generally accepted as the ultimate goal of Internet service" seem still difficult to achieve, because the theories and research methodology of HCI has not been well informed to the Internet-related workers. For HCI to set ground in the actual business sector, its value should be translated into financial terms and the top management should be persuaded to support it. This paper deals with what benefits HCI can give to the Internet companies, how HCI can help user interface design with its research findings, what kind of research method can be applied in the business sector with actual examples.

  • The nuclear knowledge management is now being operated in the KAERI and also actively practiced in other member states of the IAEA. The INIS secretariat leads the knowledge management. As the traditional service areas of librarians are decreasing, the knowledge management is considered as a promising service area replacing the traditional librarian's role. This new area is in Blue Ocean and needs to great concern and understanding. INIS is the world's leading information system on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. INIS is operated by the IAEA in collaboration with its member states and cooperating international organizations. INIS has more than 2.7 million items and provides users a comprehensive information reference service for literature in nuclear science and technology. The input amount ranks fifth in the world and it operates the INIS 2 host site. INIS in Korea is playing a leading role in the IAEA.

  • With the recent growth of the big data technology market, interest in visualization technology has steadily increased over the past few years. Data visualization is currently used in a wide range of disciplines such as information science, computer science, human-computer interaction, statistics, data mining, cartography, and journalism, each with a slightly different meaning. Big data visualization in smart cities that require multidisciplinary research enables an objective and scientific approach to developing user-centered smart city services and related policies. In particular, spatial-based data visualization enables efficient collaboration of various stakeholders through visualization data in the process of establishing city policy. In this paper, a user-centered spatial big data visualization expression request method was derived by examining the spatial-based big data visualization expression process and principle from the viewpoint of effective information delivery, not just a visualization tool.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the experience of nurses working in public health centers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and to identify its essence. The subjects who had worked for more than one year during the period of COVID-19 pandemic in three county health centers in C province were selected as research participants and analyzed according to the phenomenological method proposed by Colaizzi. As a result of the study, three themes were derived: Negative feelings about COVID-19, A firm sense of professional calling, Leading the way in preparing a system to respond to new infectious diseases. Based on this, it was confirmed that it is necessary to strengthen psychological problem support for nurses, improve biased work, support professional manpower, support systematic education, and prepare appropriate compensation system. Therefore, based on the results of this study, active discussions should be made with various interests in order to establish a support system for nurses who are major personnel in the health care system and to prepare an effective infectious disease response strategy.

  • High voltage pulsed electric field technology has been attracting attention in the the food industry as an eco-friendly nonthermal process technology using electrical energy. The lack of understanding of the equipment and the burden of equipment cost have not significantly increased the commercial application, but the potential as a technology to replace the heat process has been continuously increased. Sterilization of foods using the PEF process has been applied to liquid foods with low viscosity such as fruit and vegetable juices, but recently, high viscosity smoothies, high concentrate protein drink, mixed juice, and alcoholic beverages. Studies on sterilization of solid foods such as powders, raw meats are also being conducted. Also, the application of extraction and recovery of useful ingredients, activation of active compounds, pretreatment of drying, improvement of meat quality, changes of properties of starch has been studies.

GalaxyTBM을 이용한 Clostridium hylemonae의 ᴅ-Psicose 3-Epimerase (DPE) 단백질 구조 예측

  • $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose 3-Epimerase (DPE)는 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose의 C3 Epimerase로써 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose를 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose로 전환해 주는 효소이다. $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose는 설탕 대신 사용하는 감미료로 몸에 흡수되지 않아 칼로리가 없다고 알려져 있고 자연에서는 오로지 DPE에 의해서만 생산되는 희귀당이다. 이에 따라 DPE를 통한 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose 대량생산의 필요성이 대두되고 있는 등 이 분야에 대한 관심이 뜨거운 실정이다. 본 연구팀은 이 당과 관련된 작용기작 연구를 수행하기 위하여 아직 단백질 3차구조가 알려지지 않은 Clostridium hylemonae DPE (chDPE) 단백질의 3차 구조예측 연구를 수행 하였다. 우리는 HHsearch를 이용하여 agrobacterium tumefaciens의 DPE 외 2개의 구조를 호몰로지 모델링 연구를 위한 주형으로 선정하였다. 다음으로 PROMALS3D를 이용하여 주형들과 chDPE의 multiple sequence alignment를 수행하였고 이를 바탕으로 3차구조 예측 연구를 수행 하였다. 예측된 구조를 검증하기 위하여 ProSA와 Ramachandran plot분석을 이용하였고 Ramachandran plot에서 단백질의 94.8%에 해당하는 잔기들이 favoured regions에 위치하였다. ProSA에서는 Z-score값이 -9.3으로 X-선 결정학이나 핵자기 공명법으로 밝혀진 구조들에서 관측되는 범위 내에 위치하였다. 나아가 예측된 구조에 $\text\tiny{D}$-Psicose와 $\text\tiny{D}$-Fructose의 결합모드를 규명하기 위하여 도킹을 시도하였다. 이번 연구를 통하여 chDPE의 구조를 예측 할 수 있었고 이를 바탕으로 이 단백질의 기능을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

An Analysis of Information Visualization Problems using User Interface Design Principles (이용자 인터페이스 설계 원칙에 의한 정보시각화 시스템 평가 및 문제점 분석)

  • There have been increased interests in information visualization. Information visualization has been considered as a way to summarize textual data so that the users can access large amount of data more efficiently and effectively. However, many information visualization techniques stem from scientific visualization techniques, which might be difficult for the regular users to understand. More importantly, the system models used by most of the information visualization techniques do not have real world counterpart. For example, most of the users do not represent or process the textual data in terms of fisheye view or a topological map. This means that there is no affordance on the current information visualization systems from the users point of view. In this paper, we analyzed this problem by using the user interface design principles to point out what lacks in the current information visualization systems. More specifically, we have applied Nielson's Heuristic Evaluation technique to review four representative information visualization techniques. The analysis results confirmed our original hypothesis on why the current information visualization systems are not part of the mainstream information systems. Finally, we suggested to invest more efforts in improving the currently prevalent and familiar bullet list type textual information presentation method based on the usability studies and the intelligent content analysis.
