An Empirical Study on Comparative Analysis of Determinants of Management Performance for Domestic Ventures (국내 벤처의 경영성과 영향요인 비교 분석에 관한 실증연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of new venture performance in the view of integrated research framework and to investigate key determinants of superior and inferior ventures. We propose the integrated new ventures performance model which is composed of entrepreneur, organization/resources, industrial environment, strategy/foundation process and availability of supporting systems as corresponding variables to new ventures performance. The superior venture performance is affected mainly by entrepreneur's managerial ability and industry expertise, but the inferior by resources and management strategy. Though this study has limitation of small sample, limited questionnaire and performance measure, it has contribution of identifying key determinants of new venture performance with the integrated frame of study.

  • 인적 자원관리는 경영과정의 한 부분으로서 환경과 경영전략 그리고 조직구조와 밀접한 관계속에서 조직체의 목적 달성에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 특히 연구기관에서 인적자원은 가장 중요한 경영요소이며, "우수한 인력을 채용하여 능력에 맞는 수준 높은 대우를 함으로써 우수한 결과를 얻도록 하는 것"이 가장 기본적인 활동이다. 인적자원의 관리는 훌륭한 리더쉽에 의하여 실천되지만, 우선적으로 리더쉽을 수행할수 있는 제도적 시스템이 구축되어야 한다. 즉 인적자원 시스템을 형성하는 것은 효과적인 조직 성과를 달성하기 위한 제도적 장치를 마련하는 것이며, R'||'&'||'D 인적자원 관리 시스템은 연구목표 달성과 관련하여 개개인이 효과적으로 연구생산성을 제고할수 있도록 지원하여 주는 시스템이다. 조직성과에 영향을 주는 변수는 여러 가지가 있지만, 제도적 장치로 고려될 수 있는 것은 과업 및 조직의 설계, 인적자원 채용 및 배치 전환, 보상, 경력관리, 교육훈련, 능력 평가이다. 본 연구에서는 상기 인적자원의 성과를 높이기 위한 주요 변수(인적자원관리의 서브 과제)를 세계 주요 연구기관의 하나인 Battelle연구소를 대상으로 분석하고, 국내 R'||'&'||'D 인적자원관리 발전방향의 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • The previous studies have investigated the effect of social capital on innovation performance. However, the previous studies investigating the relationship between social capital and innovation performance have assumed a black box in the linkage. According to the knowledge based view, firms with inter-dependent relationship can make innovation through sharing processes of knowledge. In other words, social capital as intangible resource results in knowledge management activities which can increase innovation performance. And increasing innovation can make relationship satisfaction promoting relationship investment gradually. Therefore, research hypotheses are made from social capital to relationship investment. From the empirical results, except for the effect of knowledge sharing on both product innovation and relationship satisfaction, almost all hypotheses are reported to be significant. And product innovation performance positively affects relationship satisfaction, and relationship investment is positively affected by relationship satisfaction. From this study, we can know the importance of knowledge management activities in strategic management view.

보험설계사의 역량, 조직지원과 성과에 관한 연구

  • 생명보험산업 중 MDRT이라는 조직은 보험설계사 중에서 뛰어난 실적을 올린 사람 중 클레임이나 사회적으로 문제점이 없는 사람들이 가입하는 모임으로 보험업계에 설계사들은 MDRT 조직의 회원을 목표로 갖고 있는 경우가 많다. 목표는 인간 행동원인을 설명하는 가장 기본적인 동기변인으로 알려져 있으며 성취와 직접적 관련이 있다. 목표에 대한 성취는 개인적 목표와 일치할 때만 행동을 활성화 시킨다. 관련 연구들은 목표와 관련된 많은 연구들은 장기적인 관점에서 미래목표를 설정하고 달성 정도를 점검을 통해서 미래목표가 현재와 미래 간의 관계를 설정하도록 도와준다고 하였다(Miller & Brickman, 2004). 이는 보험업계에서 MDRT의 의미가 크다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 보험산업 환경이 급격하게 변화하고 있는 과정에서 보험설계사에게 요구되는 역량은 개인의 노력만으로는 제한적일 수 있으며, 조직의 지원이 실질적인 성과에 영향력을 미칠 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구는 보헙업에서 개인역량과 조직의 지원이 성과에 미치는 영향력을 분석하며, 더불어 목표지향성은 성과에 미치는 영향력을 조절할 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Effects of Entrepreneurial Marketing Orientation on the Management Performance: Mediated Effect of Organizational Marketing Capabilities (창업자의 앙트레프레니얼 마케팅 지향성이 경영성과에 미치는 영향: 조직내 마케팅역량의 매개효과)

  • Early start-up companies have an inherent limitation of lack of resources. Despite these limitations, in order to survive, the entrepreneur's personal ability to efficiently use limited resources is required. In the marketing field, various studies are needed to reduce the business failure rate through establishing growth strategies and innovation. Accordingly, it is necessary to apply the concept of entrepreneurial marketing, which has been researched and developed overseas for 30 years, to fit the domestic reality. According to the flow of this study, an empirical study should be preceded to clarify the influence relationship between entrepreneurial marketing orientation, marketing competency, and management performance, along with a theoretical theorem on entrepreneurial marketing that is suitable for early start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) and can respond innovatively to changes. The establishment of entrepreneurial marketing orientation and the processes from which this concept leads to business performance through the organization's marketing capabilities and its effects will be empirically verified. For an empirical survey, a survey was conducted on founders of 220 companies, and path analysis using structural equations was used for hypothesis verification. The findings are as follows. First, it was found that the entrepreneurial marketing orientation had a positive effect on both the organization's marketing capabilities and management performance. Second, it was found that the organization's marketing capabilities also had a positive effect on management performance. Third, as a result of empirical analysis of the mediating effect of the organization's marketing capabilities on the relationship between entrepreneurial marketing orientation and management performance, it was found that marketing capabilities showed a greater mediating effect on non-financial performance than financial performance. On the other hand, it was confirmed that marketing performance had a stronger mediating effect on financial performance than non-financial performance. By confirming and presenting the concept and constituent factors of entrepreneurial marketing orientation of domestic start-ups, which were academic gaps for the purpose of this paper, the academic research is differentiated in that they were verified as six components of entrepreneurial marketing. The practical implications of the research results will be that the entrepreneurial marketing-oriented mindset of small and medium-sized companies will optimize market analysis capabilities, network with various stakeholders, and increase the organization's ability to demonstrate marketing capabilities.

  • According to development of electronic commerce, the university's curriculums related electronic commerce should be renewed and added some chapters. I researched on university curriculums of electronic commerce, which has required by enterprise. In particular, the electronic commerce consist of two parts; IT technology and business management. Therefore it is regarded as a convergence subject. I did a correlation analysis between management's performance of enterprise and importance of university curriculum on electronic commerce. The questionnaire includes demands of enterprise and e-business model on electronic commerce. The result of this research indicates a necessary of changing by correlation ratio. Based on this research result, I suggest extended curriculums for electronic commerce.

The Effects of Information Search on New Product Development Process and Performance (정보탐색이 신제품개발 과정 및 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This study empirically investigates the effects of information search on new product development (NPD) process and performance with a sample of 82 NPD projects in 5 firms. The information search is consisted of general sources, internal sources, and external sources. The performance is consisted of technological and market performance. Findings show that information search from internal sources increases the technological knowledge of the NPD team, and information search from external sources increases the market knowledge of the NPD team. The technological and market knowledge of the NPD team increases its technical performance respectively. Only the market knowledge of the NPD team increases its market performance. Overall, the technological knowledge of the NPD team fully mediates the relationship between the information search from internal sources and its technical performance. The market knowledge of the NPD team fully mediates the relationship between the information search from external sources and its technical performance, and the relationship between the information search from external sources and its market performance. There is no other significant mediation relationships between the information searches and the performances. Implications of the research findings are discussed, and recommendation for future research are provided.

A Theoretical Review of Research on Entrepreneurial Orientation (기업가적 지향성에 대한 이론적 동향 연구)

  • Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO hereafter) can be described as firm level entrepreneurial tendencies. Initially Miller(1983) clarifies the construct of EO, and defines an "entrepreneurial firm as one that engages in product marketing innovation, undertakes somewhat risky ventures, and is first to come up with proactive innovations, beating competitors to the punch". After Miller (1983), Covin & Slevin(1989) adopted EO as a uni-dimensional construct, and insisted that these three dimensions can be combined into a single scale. Since Covin & Slevin(1991), researchers including Lumpkin & Dess(1996) have explored the usefulness of EO. However not many attempts have been tried to summarize the results of previous empirical researches, and to suggest future research directions. To examine and find implications, current study classified the effects of EO as 1) main and mediating effects, 2) moderating effect, 3) other effects, and provide theoretical and empirical validation of EO, which suggested by Miller(2011). After analyzing research results published in major international and Korean journals in each research domain, current paper summarizes and evaluates previous research results, and then suggests research directions for the future. In doing so, we hope to provide some theoretical and practical insight for management of small and medium sized firms.

  • 카플란과 노턴에 의해 1992년에 처음 소개된 BSC (Balanced Scorecard)의 '재무', '고객', '내부프로세스' 그리고 '학습과 성장'의 4개 시각 중 '학습과 성장' 시각의 핵심성과지표를 도출하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 기존 연구에서 제시된 평가 지표의 한계점을 제시하고 성과지표 도출의 근원을 조직 행동론에서 제시하고 있는 성과개념과 과정이론에서 밝혀냄으로서 '학습과 성장'시각의 목표인 다른 세 시각의 하부구조 및 동인을 달성하고자 조직 행동이론 관점의 핵심성과지표를 제시하고자 한다. 또한 정보기술이 기업의 장기적인 역랑을 배가시키고 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위한 전략적 수단으로 인식됨에 따라 정보기술의 역할 및 효과성에 대한 측정과 평가가 중요한 이슈로 떠오르고 있기 때문에 '학습과 성장' 시각에서 인적자원의 역랑과의 균형있는 정보기술 역량을 측정하고 평가할 수 있는 지표를 제시하고자 한다. 이는 기업 경영활동의 근간이 되는 구성원과 단위조직, 그리고 정보기술이 기업성과데 미치는 영향을 정확히 파악하고 그 결과를 구성원과 조직의 보상체계로 연결시킬 수 있는 객관적인 잣대로서 작용하게 된다.

  • A "high-potential employee" is an employee who has been identified as having the potential, ability and aspiration for successive leadership positions within the company and identify employees who have the greatest future potential and make them future-ready to take your organization to success. The primary purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships of corporate performance on the high potential employee system using the samples from HCCP panel data. This study seeks to identify a significant high potential employee system though empirical research as well. Results of empirical study are summarized. Finally suggestions, implications and limitations of the present study are also discussed. In this article, we explore the role of competitive strategy and technological environment in the introduction of high-potential employees and its link to impact of these performance.
