  • Value Engineering(VE) Workshop executes many tasks with VE team members from various experts of construction field on the basis of VE Job Plan for a short period of time. However, the VE team members are not useful with using VE information until now because it is not systematic in the accumulation and application of VE information. Especially, these problems constitute the obstacles to communication, reliability and quickness of VE information. It also causes an increase of time and cost at VE Workshop. Therefore, the results of this study suggests the conceptual model of Web-Based Information System for VE(WISE) in order to improve the effectiveness of VE Workshop and solve the problem as is stated above.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify problems of usability and to improve an interface in the digital textbook for leaner's leading to self-directed learning. To address those goals, the theory of affordance, which was related to affordance as leading to behavior, was applied for analyzing the user interface of digital textbook. Also, 10 students, 4th grade elementary school, were participated in the study. Participants were reported affordance's problems of digital textbook through Human Computer Interaction. As a result, some affordance's problems of the digital textbook were found out as follow; difficulty of page clicking, too small touch button, confusing the button, and, need to specific guidance. Based on the result, some suggestions were recommended to improve usability of digital textbook.

  • In the management literature, it has been widely accepted among both researchers and practitioners that the level of team creativity is significantly related to the organizational performance. Besides, researchers posited with confidence that team diversity and task difficulty would affect team creativity through team members' activities of exploration and exploitation. However, empirical approaches to proving this belief suffered from lack of real data and proper methods as well. To tackle the research void like this, we propose a multi-agent simulation (MAS) mechanism. By adopting a set of parameters which validity were proven in the related literature, we conducted a series of experiments in the environment of the MAS platform named NetLogo. There sults suggest that managers can differentiate team diversity strategies according to task difficulty. In the case of a difficult task, managers need to increase team diversity so that their teams can maximize team creativity through rigorous exploration and exploitation. It is desirable to maintain an average level of team diversity when performing an easy task.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of two-way communication and knowledge sharing on the task performance of employees in the interdependent task structure in organizations. Based on the theories of social interdependence and organizational commitment, this study hypothesized the effects of task interdependency and emotional commitment on two-way communication and knowledge sharing, followed by the effects of these variables on the task performance of employees. Design/methodology/approach Survey results show that task interdependence and emotional commitment have positive effects on the degree of two-way communication and knowledge sharing. Two-way communication also has a positive impact on knowledge sharing, and knowledge sharing also improved the task performance of members. However, the relationship between two-way communication and task performance shows no significant impact. Findings Theoretically, this study is meaningful in that the process of task interdependence in relation to emotional commitment leading to task performance is theorized. In practice, this research suggests it is important to improve employees' two-way communication and knowledge sharing in order to lead to increase task performance in the interdependent task environment.

  • This study is to explore the effect of family strength and solving skills on school adjustment of elementary school students. To attain this purpose, it utilized the data which examine 2,422 elementary students who participate in school social work in S City. The data collected is analyzed by frequency, correlation, regression with SPSS 20 program. The result of this study is as follows. Firstly, there was significant correlation among family strength, problem solving skills, school adjustment Secondly, family strength directly affected the students without the mediator variable on school adjustment. Lastly, family strength had a decisive effect on school adjustment through problem solving skills. • Despite the organizational benefits of knowledge sharing among employees, many workers are reluctant to share their knowledge with their colleagues. Most organizations have taken a lot of actions to facilitate knowledge sharing among employees, including developing reward systems, enhancing social networks and interpersonal relationships and crafting organizational cultures that support knowledge sharing. To date, however, earlier studies have demonstrated that knowledge doesn't flow easily when an organization makes a concerted effort to facilitate knowledge sharing. The issue whether or not employees are motivated to share their knowledge with others is definitely the main concern in knowledge sharing. The purpose of this study is to explore the conditions under which employees are inclined to share knowledge with other members. Specifically, we examine the effect of knowledge self-efficacy on knowledge sharing intention. In addition, we attempt to investigate medicating effects of personal outcome expectation and performance-related outcome expectation on the relationship between knowledge self-efficacy and knowledge sharing intention. To test the proposed hypotheses in our study, we collected data via a survey with a sample of 210 employees in 23 firms in Korea. The major findings of the empirical research are as follows: 1) knowledge self-efficacy was positively related with knowledge sharing intention. 2) personal outcome expectation has turned out to have a mediation effect on the relationship between knowledge self-efficacy and knowledge sharing intention. 3) performance-related outcome expectation also mediates the relationship between knowledge self-efficacy and knowledge sharing intention That is, this result indicates that knowledge self-efficacy has indirect effect on knowledge sharing intention through personal outcome expectation and performance-related outcome expectation. Based on these findings, implications of the research findings and recommendation for future research are discussed.
