The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the actual condition of operation of specialized technical high school in small-medium enterprises area. This study collected data through face-to-face interviews and telephone interviews with teachers in charge of specialization in 29 schools that were selected as specialized technical high schools in small-medium enterprises area. The finding of this study were as follows: First, 29 specialized technical high schools in small-medium enterprises area were specialized in manufacturing industry-based technology and supportive business for the manufacturing Industry, manufacturing industry-based technology was occupied a large portion of 79%. Second, the competition rates for entrance were relatively low in 2006 and 2007 as 1.01. Third, female teachers were occupied 32% among the entire teachers, but there were only 14% among teachers higher than teachers with assignment. Fourth, the possession rate of experimental and practice room was relatively stable as 94% while the possession rate of equipments was somewhat low as 76.4%. Lastly, this study found through analysis that more than 70% of schools were operating other business entities at the same time.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between teachers' characteristics and schools' peculiarities and to analyze relevant variables which influence the organization and implementation of the curriculum in specialized industry high schools. Subject were 414 teachers in specialized industry high school. The main result of this study are as follows. First, according to teachers' sex distinction, position, teaching experience, career of industry-related companies, subtle stress difference were found in establishment of education programs, relevance of educational activity, propriety of equipment. Second, in case of schools' subject of establishment, dormitory, specialized types, number of class, type of the sex of recruitment, subtle difference were found in connectivity of graders and subjects, relevance of the organization of education activity, substantial curriculum, push ahead with specialized high school. Third, measures to support development of specialized curriculum arrange sub-items in order of frequency. The way we understand things on vocational education must be settled without delay.
This research aims to understand how students of technical high schools view 'engineering' as well as to identify the main elements that contribute to the perception on 'engineering.' The research targets are 695 senior students of technical high schools nationwide. The researcher developed the measuring tool for the experiment by referencing the adjective value criteria utilized in the semantic difference method developed by Osgood (1957). There were a grand total of 30 criteria following the preliminary studies. The results of the research are as follows. Firstly, the average value of the overall perception of technical high school students on 'engineering' is 4.27 points. This value just exceeds the standard (4 points). Secondly, when examining the general tendency it can be noticed that there is a sense of stigma that although 'engineering' is significant and valuable it is a field that is overly difficult, complex and even dangerous. Thirdly, 6 main elements that influence the perception on 'engineering' were extracted as results of the factor analysis. The first element is practicality; the second element is emotions; the third element is aesthetics; the fourth is simplicity; the fifth is responsibility; and finally the sixth element is assertiveness. Fourthly, when comparing the average values of the perception on 'engineering' by region, it was seen that there existed a difference on the perception towards 'engineering' based on differing regions.
The purpose of this research is to clarify the elements of the function of the role of industrial high schools that its experts perceived. The content of this research is verify the function element required for the performance of the role of specialized education through content validity ratio(CVR). This research adopted the method of literature research and Delphi method, which is to collect and come to an agreement of the opinions of the 26 research panels. The first round is constructed by the semi-constructed questionnaire for the analysis of the opinions of the panels by inductive method. The second round is to categorize the result of the first one into 7 domains, and asked each category by Likert's 5 scale checklists, and statistically analyzed mean, medium, standard deviation, and quartile. The third round is to statistically analyze Mean, standard deviation, medium, and validity ratio(CVR) to reassure the opinions of the panels on the basis of the result of the first one. The categorized contents of the function required for the performance of the specialized education in this research is 'in-service visit and in-service training', 'licence acquiring education', 'employment counseling and job employment information', 'custom-made education connected with industry', 'career education' and 'enhancement of basic career competency'. The panels are divided into professors, teachers, professionals, and policy administrators, and they verified the validity rate of the function role and priority of emphasis. The result showed that the tendency of the education is converting from physical function-centered education to education of emotional attitude and competence of thought.
The purpose of this research is to identify internal and external factors that affect specialized technical high school students' career decision status. It then uses career decision types to predict the variables which have the impact on emotional aspects of specialized technical high school student who feel comfortable or uncomfortable after career decision in order to help specialized technical high school students choose their career. The subject of this study consist a total of 809 male and female students attending specialized technical high school located in South Korea. Data were analyzed to investigate the types of career decision status of specialized technical high school students using the SPSS 21.0 program. The results obtained through the study were as follows. Types of career decision status of specialized technical high school students were divided into four groups based on career decision status and types of emotional state. Results showed the decision-comfort(51.3%), decision-discomfort(25.6%), indecision- discomfort(15.3%), indecision-comfort(1.3%) in order. Social support were selected as variables affecting the comfort and discomfort of two groups and the determining factor which distinguished four groups. Result of the analysis showed that social support has statistically significant impact on whether it was decision or not and comfort or not. But career decision-making self-efficacy has no big impact on career decision types. Taking all results of this study together, we can see that specialized technical high school students feel comfortable and they decide the career, but still many students feel uncomfortable on their decision after deciding their career. It suggests the need of development and operation of program about emotional status of career decision which can help specialized technical high school students prepare their career comfortably after they decide on the career, and the need of segmented career counseling approach including social support group.
The purpose of this study was to improve the academic achievement at the public practical center of technical high school in Busan. For this study, 1 class(31 students) in the second grade at "B"technical high school were selected and these students were divided into two groups. One is the experiment group which blended learning was applied to and the other is control group which traditional lecture method was applied to. Each group was divided into three sub-groups by the level of learning ability. Non-randomized control-group pretest-posttest design was applied for this experiment planning. The subject of experiment was the unit of "3D Modeling and Making NC code" in the textbook of "Application of Automatic System" applied by the public practical center of technical high school in Busan. On-line contents were developed and applied to the blended learning to control group. In order to analyze the test result, t-test with a significance level of 0.05 was carried out using SPSS 10.0. The results of this study was summarized as follows; First, as a result of the post test performed on the experiment and the control group, there was a significant difference between two groups, that was, the blended learning was more effective than the traditional lecture method in improving academic achievement. Second, blended learning was more effective than the traditional lecture method in the group of high-leveled and middle-leveled, but was little effective on the low-leveled group. Third, blended learning was more effective than the traditional lecture method in the functional domain, but was little effective in the cognitive domain and psychomotor domain.
The purpose of this study is to propose the new direction in the curriculum and framework of information & communication department in technical high schools through analyzing the propriety of curriculum contents, the relationship among the subjects and the time difference in major subjects and mathematics, respectively. The main results of this study are as follows: (1) The common curriculum to include the number of selective and major subjects were different according to the curriculum and studying hours in each school. The differences were caused by the results of managing the curriculum by which was considered characteristics of schools, department and so on. (2) Mathematical contents are evenly found in 3 units in general communication subjects. The mathematical factors are shown similarly in every item in mathematics10-A, mathematics10-B, and mathematics I. The mathematical contents are found most frequently by 41.2% in the communication basis unit, also there were four items which do not exist in the technical high school mathematics. (3) Mathematical contents are evenly found in every unit of electron circuit subject. The mathematical factors in mathematics10-A are shown more than in mathematics I by 8 items. Mathematical contents are found most frequently in the amplification circuit unit by 22.2% of the electron circuit subject.

The problem should be approached in terms of recovering essential functions of technical high school and identification to supply stable and quality human resources in technical sector. An adequate space programming for technical high school is needed to educate effective skills and techniques. Considering the education directions of vocational high school, the article covers principals of technical school's construction plan and directions and, based on this, suggest the way of estimating the scale in construction plan of technical school. Through this research, systematic and reasonable space planning can be possible. The range of this research is based on development directions of society and education and an objective standard in a newly reformed the 7th Stage of Education. In addition, the research is limited to technical high school among kinds of vocational high school. The purpose is to redefine the role of technical school that face identification crisis currently, comparing to the past, and to suggest a more effective space planning. The research limits the space to classes for specialized subjects, a core space for education in technical school among diverse spaces.

Many teachers at vocational high schools have had difficulties overcoming the gap between what students know and what students have to achieve in many topics. Mathematics is toughest of all, since most of textbooks in electronics are assuming student's basic knowledge in math. Considering that many students with very low achievements are entering vocational high schools, reality is far from such assumption. Inevitably, we have to face two difficult questions; do we have enough time to teach these kids all the math that they need in two years? If not, what alternatives we should adopt? We just do not have enough time and therefore find out a way to cope with harsh reality. According to our preliminary study, we suggest that multimedia-based CAI may be the best way to attack this problem. From hardware point of view, fortunately, many of vocational high schools are reasonably equipped for multimedia-based education. However there have been hardly any effort to develop courseware for vocational education in Korea. In this paper, a CAI title for learning basic characteristics of alternating current has been designed and implemented. The developed multimedia-based CAI title has been applied with respect to first grade students at local vocational high schools. A survey after classes shows that CAI could help student feel much comfortable with Basic Electricity course and grasp physical understanding much easily. Accordingly we conclude that classes adopting CAI would be of great help to put education in vocational high schools on the right track.

Since the 7th educational renovation was established, ICT has emerged as an indispensable tool for teaching a variety of subjects in technical high schools. This paper develops the model for explaining the factors affecting the use of web contents as a mode for studying Electronic subject. Based on data collected from a questionnaire survey from the students who studied the Electronic subject using web contents, a following conclusion is provided: the perceived usefulness, ease of use and the playfulness significantly affect the level of satisfaction, but the design of contents, image, quality, attitude as well as self-efficacy only indirectly affect the satisfaction level. This result might provide the useful guidelines for designing the web-contents for technical high school students.
