In this paper, we propose a compressed sensing-based signal recovery technique for an uplink multi-user spatial modulation (MU-SM) system. In the MU-SM system, only one antenna among $N_t$ antennas of each user becomes active by nature. Thus, this characteristics is exploited for signal recovery at a base station. We modify the conventional orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm which has been widely used for sparse signal recovery in literature for the MU-SM system, which is called MU-OMP. We also propose a parallel OMP algorithm for the MU-SM system, which is called MU-POMP. Specifically, in the proposed algorithms, antenna indices of a specific user who was selected in the previous iteration are excluded in the next iteration of the OMP algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms outperform the conventional OMP algorithm in the MU-SM system.
We developed a micro UAV based rapid mapping system that provides geospatial information of target areas in a rapid and automatic way. Users can operate the system easily although they are inexperienced in UAV operation and photogrammetric processes. For the aerial data acquisition, we constructed a micro UAV system mounted with a digital camera, a GPS/IMU, and a control board for the sensor integration and synchronization. We also developed a flight planning software and data processing software for the generation of geo-spatial information. The processing software operates automatically with a high speed to perform data quality control, image matching, georeferencing, and orthoimage generation. With the system, we have generated individual ortho-images within 30 minutes from 57 images of 3cm resolution acquired from a target area of $400m{\times}300m$.
A shape data is used one oi most important feature for image retrieval as data to reflect meaning of image. Especially, structural feature of shape is widely studied because it represents primitive properties of shape and relation information between basic units well. However, most structural features of shape have the problem that it is not able to guarantee an efficient search time because the features are expressed as graph or tree. In order to solve this problem, we generate curvature-based morphological graph, End design key to cluster shapes from this graph. Proposed this graph have contour features and morphological features of a shape. Shape retrieval is accomplished by stages. We reduce a search space through clustering, and determine total similarity value through pattern matching of external curvature. Various experiments show that our approach reduces computational complexity and retrieval cost.
Most studies using satellite images have been performed to determine three dimensional positioning by stereoscopic analysis for stereo-pair or to extract digital elevation model by stereo matching using image correlation techniques. Because the small errors on the ground control points have a great impact on the results, honorer, it is hard to get reliable products when we analyze satellite orbital parameters or acquire digital elevation model by using only stereo-pair. Also, if there are noises, shadows, or clouds on the one of stereo pair, it is difficult to produce DEM(digital elevation model) on the area under analysis or to have good accuracy. In these case, it can be solved by systematic analysis of the multiple stereo images. This paper suggests the improvements on the accuracy of the digital elevation model by the developments of stereoscopic analysis techniques for the triplet of SPOT satellite images on the same area.

This paper presents a data analysis method for the taxi telematics system which generates a greate deal of location history data. By the record consist of the basic GPS receiver-generated fields, device-added fields such as taxi operation status, and framework-attached fields such as matched link Identifier and position ratio in a link, each taxi can be represented by a state diagram. The transition and the state definition enable us to efficiently extract such information as pick-up time, pick-up distance, dispatch time, and dispatch distance. The analysis result can help to verify the efficiency of a specific taxi dispatch algorithm, while the analysis framework can invite a new challenging service including future traffic estimation, trajectory clustering, and so on.

Recently GIS is not only displaying and servicing data on the 2D, but also is changing rapidly to display and service 3D data. Also 3D related technology is developing actively. For display of 3D data, terrain DTM has become a basis. Generally, to acquire DTM, users are using LIDAR data or digital map's contour line. However, if using these data for producing DTM, users need to additional cost and data lead time. And hard to update terrain data. For possibility of solving these problem, this study did DTM extraction with automatic matching for aerial photograph, and analysed the result with measurement of Orthometric height and excuted accuracy through DTM(which extracted from digital photogrammetric technique). As a result, we can get a high accuracy of RMSE (0.215m).

This paper presents face recognition based on the fusion of visible image and thermal infrared (IR) texture estimated from the face image in the visible spectrum. The proposed face recognition scheme uses a multi- layer neural network to estimate thermal texture from visible imagery. In the training process, a set of visible and thermal IR image pairs are used to determine the parameters of the neural network to learn a complex mapping from a visible image to its thermal texture in the low-dimensional feature space. The trained neural network estimates the principal components of the thermal texture corresponding to the input visible image. Extensive experiments on face recognition were performed using two popular face recognition algorithms, Eigenfaces and Fisherfaces for NIST/Equinox database for benchmarking. The fusion of visible image and thermal IR texture demonstrated improved face recognition accuracies over conventional face recognition in terms of receiver operating characteristics (ROC) as well as first matching performances.

A correspondence matching is one of the important tasks in computer vision, and it is not easy to find corresponding points in variable environment where a scale, rotation, view point and illumination are changed. A SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) algorithm have been widely used to solve the problem of the correspondence matching because it is faster than SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) with closely maintaining the matching performance. However, because SURF considers only gray image and local geometric information, it is difficult to match corresponding points on the image where similar local patterns are scattered. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes an extended SURF algorithm that uses the invariant color and global geometric information. The proposed algorithm can improves the matching performance since the color information and global geometric information is used to discriminate similar patterns. In this paper, the superiority of the proposed algorithm is proved by experiments that it is compared with conventional methods on the image where an illumination and a view point are changed and similar patterns exist.

This paper addresses a method to automatically detect out a person's face from a given image that consists of a hair and face view of the person and a complex background scene. Out method involves an effective detection algorithm that exploits the spatial distribution characteristics of human skin color via an adaptive fuzzy color classifier (AFCC), The universal skin-color map is derived on the chrominance component of human skin color in Cb, Cr and their corresponding luminance. The desired fuzzy system is applied to decide the skin color regions and those that are not. We use RGB model for extracting the hair color regions because the hair regions often show low brightness and chromaticity estimation of low brightness color is not stable. After some preprocessing, we apply convex-hull to each region. Consequent face detection is made from the relationship between a face's convex-hull and a head's convex-hull. The algorithm using the convex-hull shows better performance than the algorithm using pattern method. The performance of the proposed algorithm is shown by experiment. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm successfully and efficiently detects the faces without constrained input conditions in color images.

The artificial captions appearing in videos include information that relates to the videos. In order to obtain the information carried by captions, many methods for caption extraction from videos have been studied. Most traditional methods of detecting caption region have used one frame. However video include not only spatial information but also temporal information. So we propose a method of detection caption region using temporal and spatial information. First, we make improved Text-Appearance-Map and detect continuous candidate regions through matching between candidate-regions. Second, we detect disappearing captions using disappearance test in candidate regions. In case of captions disappear, the caption regions are decided by a merging process which use temporal and spatial information. Final, we decide final caption regions through ANNs using edge direction histograms for verification. Our proposed method was experienced on many kinds of captions with a variety of sizes, shapes, positions and the experiment result was evaluated through Recall and Precision.
