The determination of the depth of deteriorated concrete is one of the main problems in the structural assessment of concrete structures that have been subjected to a fire. This information is particularly important in order to optimize the future operations of repair/strengthening, or in decision-making concerning a possible demolition. The purpose of this study is to propose evaluation technique of damaged depth of concrete exposed at high temperature. In order to evaluate damaged depth of core picked at member under fire, the 24 specimens have been made with variables of concrete strength(20 MPa, 40 MPa, 60 MPa) and heating exposure condition in 600 and 800 for 2 hours. Color change analysis and water absorption after heating have been measured and split tensile stress test was performed to ka the residual compressive strength against the depth of specimen. The results show that the deeper of the depth from heating face, water absorption ratio is smaller and residual stress ratio is larger and the color of heated face is changed to red color. Using this technique at damage evaluation of fired structure, We evaluate damaged depth of member under fire and determine the reasonable strengthening range.
Sr$_{l-x}$Ba$_{x}$Al$_2$O$_4$:Eu (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 mol) phosphor was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and its properties of photoluminescence and long-afterglow were investigated. The mixtures of Sr(NO$_3$)$_2$, Al(NO$_3$)$_3$9$H_2O$, and Eu(NO$_3$)$_3$$.$6$H_2O$ salts dissolved in distilled water, after controlling their pH by NH$_4$OH solution, put into an Autoclave reactor with high temperature and pressure to react. Such synthesized SrAl$_2$O$_4$:Eu powders showed homogeneous and ultra-fine particles of sub-micron size. In order to have the photoluminescence characteristic, powders were heat treated at 1100 -140$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in Ar/H$_2$ reduction atmosphere. Photoluminescence spectra showed a excitation along the wide wavelength of 250 ∼ 450 nm, and broaden emission with maxima peak at 520 nm. Also, it showed a good long afterglow with decaying over 1000 sec after excitation illumination for 10 min. In addition, the microstructure and crystal structure of SrAl$_2$O$_4$:Eu powders were investigated by an SEM and XRD, respectively.

The inorganic insulating material was fabricated with quartzite, ordinary portland cement(OPC), lime, anhydrous gypsum and foaming agent by hydrothermal reaction. The inorganic insulating material was fabricated by using autoclave chamber under high-temperature and high-pressure. The inorganic insulating material is a porous lightweight concrete. Because of its porous structure, properties of inorganic insulating material were light-weight and high-heat insulation property. Properties of fabricated inorganic insulating material were $0.26g/cm^3$ in specific gravity, 0.4MPa in compressive strength and 0.064W/mK in thermal conductivity. In this study, the inorganic insulating material was fabricated and analyzed at different size of quartzite/OPC, various foaming reagent and functional additives to improve the properties. Consequently, polydimethylsiloxane can improve density and thermal conductivity. Especially, polydimethylsiloxane showed excellent improvement in compressive strength.

One of the basic physical properties of the hardened cement paste, the rigidity, is deteriorated during concrete matrix forming, depending on the replacement rate of the crushed stone powder, and due to drying shrinkage. Therefore, the concrete containing crushed stone powder has been limitedly used as non-structural construction material. To improve these disadvantages, a hydrothermal reaction employing method can be considered. High-temperature and high-pressure water is involved in the hydrothermal reaction in the mixing with specific materials. The rigidity improving mechanism is related to the synthesis of calcium silicate. The calcium silicate is produced through reaction between calcium compounds and the silicic acid. Various kinds of calcium silicate can be produced depending on the CaO/$SiO_2$ mole ratio, the temperature of the hydrothermal synthesis, the pressure, and the reaction time. The product of the synthesis mechanism, tobermorite crystal, plays a pivotal role for the rigidity reinforcement. The crushed stone powder, analyzed in this study, contains 50 to 60% of $SiO_2$ and 10 to 20% $Al_2O_3$. The composite rate is appropriate to create the tobermorite crystal through formation of hardened cement matrix under the hydrothermal synthetic conditions and with the CaO in the cement. Moreover, further reinforcement was promoted using the property of material under the identical density through promoting the formation of tobermorite crystal.
Interest in environmental pollution is increasing all over the world, and technology development to solve it is actively carried out. In areas where heat is used, especially, combustion is causing countless pollutants in the air environment. Combustion catalyst is a technology that reduces NOx and CO by lowering combustion temperature and enabling complete combustion. Traditional combustion catalysts are expensive and complex in the synthesis process using precious metal catalyst. In this study, hexaaluminate, a high-temperature combustion catalyst, was manufactured using urea, and the properties were investigated according to the synthesis time. The combustion performance and characteristics were evaluated using this catalyst. As the temperature increased, the changing methane conversion rate was shown in two patterns. The conversion rates for 1 hour, 9 hours, and 12 hours were similar, while the conversion rates for 3 hours and 6 hours showed similar patterns. Methane combustion performance increased rapidly as the synthesis time increased from 6 hours to 9 hours, whereas the temperature at T50 was approximately 745 ℃. The performance of the synthesized combustion catalyst for 9 hours was optimum as the NOx emission of this combustion catalyst was not present and the maximum emission of CO was 72 ppm.
When the concrete and steel combined composite beam is exposed to high temperature, concrete could delay temperature rising of steel by covering or increase heat capacity of structural member. For becoming of structural reinforcing by unification between materials, fire resistance rate of composite beam would be higher than simple steel beam. The temperature rising of exposed steel of composite beam is directly related with section shape and exposure length of steel. In this study, fire resistant tests were carried out for composite beams and steel beam with same thickness of spray-type fire resistant materials in standard fire, and after that, temperature histories were analysed and compared with shape factor. The correlation between steel temperature and shape factor was showed very high. This result suggests that if it can be predict the comparative advantage of member by factor which cause the performance enhancement, it could be conclude that an Standard Accreditation method can be adjust to members without indivisual certifiicate of accreditation.

A serpentine mineral was treated in hydrochloric acid solution to obtain amorphous silica residue with high surface area. The highly porous silica with aluminum hydroxide and sodium hydroxide was hydrothermally reacted in an autoclave. A numerous experiments were performed in terms of reaction time, temperature, alkalinity, and calcinations temperature. As a result, a ZSM-5 zeolite of the highest crystallinity was produced under such conditions as $^170{\circ}C$ of the reaction temperature, 24 hours of the reaction time, and $11.7Na_2O{\cdot}Al_2O_3{\cdot}90SiO_2{\cdot}3510H_2O{\cdot}10.8(TPA)_2O$ the composition along with 3 hours of the calcinations at $600^{\circ}C$.
Recently, many chemicals produced from renewable resources such as lignocellulosics, micro-algae and marine macro-algae, were introduced to chemical industry. Chitin/chitosan is secondly abundant feedstock on Earth. It is easily obtained from crusraceans' shells such as crab, shrimp and insects. In this work, we performed the acidic-hydrothermal hydrolysis to produce levulinic acid from chitosan using statistical approach. By design of response surface methodology, the effect of reaction temperature, catalyst amount, and reaction time and their reciprocal interactions were investigated. As a result, higher reaction temperature and catalyst amount increased the higher concentration of levulinic acid. However, reaction time did not caused large increase of levulinic acid after some reaction period. Levulinic acid of 2.7 g/L produced from chitosan in the optimized condition of reaction temperature of $175^{\circ}C$, sulfuric acid of 2.4% and reaction time of 40.7 min.

To make recycling aggregate, quantity of fine particles increase due to multi-crushing. Though this particles were mixed with recycling aggregate, those have to be disparted from aggregate in the high quality recycling aggregate, because of the cause of low quality. Considering reactivity, fine particles is better than coarse one. Therefore, it needs to develop suitable usage. We try to make cement extruding material by using the fine particles from concrete recycling, as a silicious replacement. Test results are as follows ; 1) Waste concrete powder has major ingredients such as $SiO_2$ and CaO, its density is $2.45g/cm^3$ being similar to silica powder, its diameter is range 13 to $141{\mu}m$. 2) Considering to strength properties according to particle size, specimen was made using small particles is higher strength than large one. 3) Despite of exception in the autoclaved curing, when the replacement of waste fine particle increase, strength of extruding panel shows almost same level.
$NH_4{^+}-{\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$-alumina which is expected to an inorganic solid electrolyte of high temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) was prepared by ion-exchange reaction of $K^{+}-{\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$-alumina pellet with $NH_4NO_3$ aqueous solution and molten $NH_4NO_3$ salts as an ion-exchange medium in the autoclave and the heating mentle reaction. In the autoclave reaction, the concentrations of $NH_4NO_3$ solution was chosen at 5 and 10 M. Each ion-exchange reaction was carried out at 130, 150, 170, and $200^{\circ}C$ for 2, 4, 6 and 8 h. In the heating mentle reaction, ion-exchange was performed at $200^{\circ}C$ for 2, 4, 6 and 8 h with molten $NH_4NO_3$ salts. In order to determine the effect of reaction times, each ion-exchange reaction was repeated 3 times. The phase stability and the ion-exchange rate of $NH_4{^+}-{\beta}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$-alumina were analyzed by XRD and ICP.
