Study on Mies' office projects in Germany through an analysis of Formal Types (형태 유형 분석을 통해 본 미스 반 데어 로에의 독일시대 사무소 건축에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the formal types and public space of Mies van der Rohe's office designs in Germany. The characteristics of the formal types, the relationship between public space and formal types, and the composition of public space were analyzed by hierarchy with perspective drawings and plans. The conclusions were as follows. Mies used the formal types, such as U shape and I shape in his early days. Later, he adopted the curved shape and tried to fragment the forms by combining the curved shape with an I shape. Mies designed the entry space in front of the simple formal types. The curved shape was used to create various hierarchical courtyards and rear gardens. The results suggest that Mies developed his own ideas on the formal types and public space utilizing a variety of methods.

A Path-Volume Simulation Method to Select Arterial Section of Road Network (경로 교통량 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용한 간선구간 설정 방법론 연구)

  • In this study, the purpose behind this research is to propose index to be used for classification of functional the urban streets and to select the feasible length of special management link by the index. This special management link help decision makers found a transportation policy. In order to perform functional classification, index such as average traveled distance, link VKT and VKT per length-lane are use at the study. Average traveled distance index is average traveled distance divided by length of Path k and VKT per length-lane is trip volume characteristic considering lanes and length of Path k. Special management links on which major part of the vehicle are selected with using Path-VKT which represents how many long-distance touring vehicles are on the arterial road. The selection of special management links are performed with network composed of 14 paths (arterial roads) in seoul The total distance of special management links resulted from the above analysis is 141km(35.0% of the whole paths length) and total VKT of the special management links is 4,152,475 VKT(45.2% of the whole paths VKT)

Classifying and Characterizing the Types of Gentrified Commercial Districts Based on Sense of Place Using Big Data: Focusing on 14 Districts in Seoul (빅데이터를 활용한 젠트리피케이션 상권의 장소성 분류와 특성 분석 -서울시 14개 주요상권을 중심으로-)

  • This study aims to categorize the 14 major gentrified commercial areas of Seoul and analyze their characteristics based on their sense of place. To achieve this, we conducted hierarchical cluster analysis using text data collected from Naver Blog. We divided the districts into two dimensions: "experience" and "feature" and analyzed their characteristics using LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) of the text data and statistical data collected from Seoul Open Data Square. As a result, we classified the commercial districts of Seoul into 5 categories: 'theater district,' 'traditional cultural district,' 'female-beauty district,' 'exclusive restaurant and medical district,' and 'trend-leading district.' The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for policy-makers to develop more efficient and suitable commercial policies.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the spatial system and characteristics of the urban center by deriving the boundaries of the urban center set in the urban basic plan for Busan Metropolitan City and diagnosing the role and status of the center. To this end, four indicators representing the characteristics of the center were selected through a review of previous studies, and the boundaries of the center were derived using spatial statistical techniques with strengths in geographical boundary analysis. Then, using the indicators of center characteristics and population potential functions, we diagnosed the influence and potential of each center in the spatial structure of Busan Metropolitan City. The analysis showed that the scale of the centers varies greatly, and the unutilized areas where commercial areas are not activated and the expansion areas that spread beyond commercial areas to residential and industrial areas are different for each urban center. The results of the potential measurement, which indicates the attractiveness of the center, also showed areas with strong and weak population potential. Therefore, systematic management and strategies based on the hierarchical characteristics and influence measurement results are needed to strengthen the function of urban centers. The results analyzed in this study can be used as a resource for responding to various urban planning needs and policy changes in the future, along with station area development plans and spatial innovation zones for building a sustainable urban growth system, balanced development, and strengthening the function of centers.

  • This paper aimed at drawing out urban planning techniques and strategies for climate change adaptation. To achieve these goals, the following specific objectives were carried out: First, through a review of previous studies and related theories, thirty-three planning techniques were derived and categorized into five sectors and twelve planning goals. Second, current application level was analyzed and applicable planning techniques were derived from urban cases in US and Europe. Third, final planning techniques for climate change adaptation were derived through working group and experts' brainstorming. Lastly, strategies for climate change adaptation proposed. This paper would be the basic source and comprehensive information on establishment of urban planning for climate change adaptation.

  • Seoul City planned "Dreamland" to be in harmony with the huge woods and park. It is located in the life zone in the northern region of Seoul as part of an extensive park development plan that the municipal government has promoted. The space configuration technique of the aesthetics of "Empty" rather than "Full" gives the potentiality to cope with the uncertain changes in the city. Furthermore, the traditional element of the mountain landscape of Seoul was introduced and appropriated as the axis of the landscape for landscape configuration. In that configuration, the images of tree, sky, wind, water and soil are elegantly unfolded like a landscape painting. The purpose was to create a dominant landmark in the city landscape with the figures of Korean mountains and hills which were differentiated from architectural landmarks in the western cities by making nature, which was excluded from the urbanization plans up to now, an important subject for consideration. As a result, this study madethe space in a park including existing yards and streets in a city have the traditional hierarchy by applying the facility arrangement technique and elements extracted from Korean space types and traditional landscape concepts. Moreover, the North Seoul Dream Forest was designed by pursuing diversity and potentiality in the experience of space using a large open field in a city.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a method of preparing for a more enduring built environment, being fully aware that, in consideration of time flowing from past to present, there is no ardlitecture in creation that is not abandoned. Efforts were made to find the problem solutions in relation to the hierardlial structure, evolvement and adaptation of living beings. The process of study was as follows, ·The built environment's affordance to human beings and the designer's role was explained. ·Having an understanding of the necessity of user minded planning, the architectural adaptation of the multi-layered hierarchy system of holon theory and adoption of time conception into architectural space were examined to explain that the importance in ardlitecture should be placed in transition, not in perfection. ·The design of Parc de La Villette by Bernard Tsdlumi was analysed from the above viewpoint. Having a practical case analysed, this study is expected to offer a basic information for use in case of visual presentation of a theoretical viewpoint.

  • 학습의 깊이의 단계를 Bloom은 지식, 이해, 적용, 분석, 종합, 평가라는 6가지의 단계로 나누면서 피상적인 학습과 감이 있는 학습으로 구분하였다. 최근 학습은 면대면 학습에서 뿐 아니라, 웹기반의 학습에서도 피상적인 학습 위주로 이루어진다는 비판을 받고 있고, 웹기반 학습에서는 자기조절 흑은 자기규제의 문제가 가장 큰 문제로 지적 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로서 감이 있는 학습을 촉진하고, 자기 조절을 촉진하는 메타인지를 웹기반학습에의 인터페이스 디자인에 적용하는 문제를 살펴보았다. 이를 알아보기 위해 메타인지 전략의 가장 핵심 요소인 '자기 점검'의 요소 중 학습 내용들 간의 위계 관계를 보여주는 지도 (MAP) 와 계획세우기를 도와주는 요소 (PLAN)를 기존 연구를 토대로 웹기반의 학습의 인터페이스로 구현하고, 이러한 요소들이 학습, 특히 Bloom이 말한 김이 있는 학습을 촉진하는지를 실험을 통해 살펴보았다. 메타인지를 활용한 웹기반 학습의 효과는 배운 내용의 사후 테스트 점수로 측정되었다. 일반적으로 웹상에서 이루어지는 학습의 일반적인 형태인 학습 중에 확인문제를 푸는 조건 (OX조건)과 확인문제와 학습 내용들 간의 위계 관계를 보여주는 지도를 제시하는 조건 (MAP조건), 이에 덧붙여 사전 계획세우기까지 모두 하는 조건 (PLAN조건)으로 나누어 실험이 진행되었다. 그 결과 첫째, 집단 간 참가자들의 전체적인 학습 점수는 MAP조건이 가장 낮고, OX조건이 중간, PLAN조건이 가장 높은 모습을 보였다. 그러나 이 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았다. 또한 모든 조건의 집단에서 행해졌던 학습 중간의 OX점수는 집단별 점수의 차이가 통계적으로 유의미하지는 않았으나, 평균의 차이를 보여주었다. 둘째, 조건별 참가자의 학습 효과는 피상적인 학습수준(암기)에서는 통계적으로 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 그러나 감이 있는 수준의 학습(문제해결)에서는 집단 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 학습의 차이를 보이지 않았다. 따라서 깊이있는 학습을 촉진하는 웹기반 학습의 인터페이스 디자인에 대해서는 추후 연구가 필요하다.

  • From 1990, Seoul Metropolitan Government has established an urban master plan for the efficient city management by introducing the central place structure with a multi-tiered hierarchy. In the plan, Seoul City uses the strategy of developing the station influence area around the urban railway, in order to form the central place structure, effectively. . Therefore, reviewing impacts of urban railway is the most fundamental study for understanding changes in the spatial structures of Seoul. In the study, we have analyzed the changes in the central place structure of Seoul City with the public land price changes in station influence area around the urban railway at each year of 2000, 2005, and 2010. As a result, we could easily recognize the changes in the hierarchical central place structure by analyzing the time-series changes of public land price in station influence area.

Freight Network Build-up Based on Capacity and Acceptable Limits of Commercial Vehicles by Road Type (도로 위계에 따른 화물차량 용량과 허용비율을 고려한 화물 통행망 구축방안 연구)

  • Nowadays, the movement of commercial vehicles has caused severe congestion, environmental problems and damaged pavements in urban area. To solve the Problems, this research has proposed a methodology to build-up a freight network that is enable to manage the movement and demand of commercial vehicles. The network based on urban arterial network has developed according to freight traffic volume that is under the influence of road types among The in study area. Freight network has been developed by assignment method of 4-step transportation forecasting. Once, acceptable limits of freight traffic volume are decided, freight network can be developed using the capacity To confirm the application of the methodology, freight network of Seoul city has developed by the methodology.
