  • People often use haptic experience as a basis for their preference decisions and value judgments, assuming that haptic experience with a product results from the properties of the products. However, research has suggested that unplanned haptic experience, which does not arise from the properties of the product itself, can also influence people's preference and value evaluation (Ackerman, Nocera, & Bargh, 2010). In this study, in order to verify (1) if such unplanned or accidental haptic experience changes user's cognitive tendency and (2) if accidental haptic experience leads to misattribution of the cause of haptic experience, two hypotheses were suggested and empirically investigated. Participants of the experiment were exposed to certain products on a display of a tablet PC and asked to decide on the maximum price they were willing to pay for each product. The products displayed on the screen were made up of either soft material or hard material. Results of the experiment revealed that accidental haptic experience had an effect on participants' value evaluation of products via altering their cognitive inclinations. Possible applicability of accidental haptic experiences that occur in various situations were discussed.

  • This study was conducted to identify the relationship between child abuse and school violence and whether aggression and depression have any mediating effects on this relationship. This study analyzed the responses of 1,937 eighth grade students. The main results of this study were as follows. First, child abuse was positively correlated with school violence aggression and school violence victimization. Second, aggression and depression mediated the effect of child abuse on aggression and victimization, respectively. Third, aggression mediated the effect of child abuse on victimization. Fourth, although there was a reciprocal causal relationship between aggression and victimization, school violence victims who were abused by their parents were less likely to be the perpetrators of violence themselves. These findings have implications regarding the use of counseling intervention to prevent violence in schools.

  • Many students accumulate work experience while they attend college. Using data from Korean Youth Panel, I investigate the effects of in-school work experience on school-to-work process. Work during college contributes to take first job quickly after school, but has no significant effect on wage level of first job. These results show that in-school work experience might help job search but not provide skills and knowledge. These findings suggest that it is necessary to link the youth internship programme to in-school learning in collaboration with school.

  • The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship among the variables related learner's satisfaction, flow experience and self-directedness and verify the path model of causal relationship among those variables in web based computer e-learning. Based on the theoretical rationale, we hypothesized the path model including learner's satisfaction as outcome variable, flow experience and self-directedness as causal and mediating variables. A total of 193 students were participated in this study and the main results showed as follows: 1. Learner's self-directedness showed significant (p<.01), indirect effect on learner's satisfaction mediated by flow experience and the flow experience showed significant (p<.01), direct effect on learner's satisfaction; 2. Among 7 constructs of self-directedness, 'creative approach', 'love of learning', 'self-confidence as a learner' showed significant (p<.01), indirect effects on learner's satisfaction mediated by 'clear goals' construct among flow experience.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the neurocognitive function test (CN Test), computer experience, and satisfaction in the elderly. We recruited 52 healthy elderly persons (25 males and 27 females) for this study. The subjects did the CN Test (accuracy, response time) and evaluated their computer experience and satisfaction with the CN Test. We used the independent t test and Pearson correlations for statistical analysis. The elderly without computer experience were older than the elderly with computer experience (p < .05) and education level was lower (p < .05). The elderly with computer experience were higher the satisfaction than the elderly without computer experience, the CN Test was more accurate, and response time was faster (p < .05). In the correlation analysis, the higher the age and the lower the education level, the lower the accuracy of the CN Test and the faster the response time (p < .05). Satisfaction was negatively correlated with age, and was statistically correlated with education level (p < .05). The satisfaction level with the CN Test by the elderly has a moderate relationship with the level of education and computer experience.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of user experience on Facebook acceptance behavior and advertising acceptance behavior. For the study, a survey was conducted among 367 male and female college students who use Facebook. In the results, first, functionality, usability, and pleasurable had positive effects on Facebook attitude, usability and pleasurable on flow, and reliability, usability, and pleasurable on the intent for continuous use. Second, functionality had a negative effect on advertising invasiveness while pleasurable had a positive effect on advertising attitude and no significant effect on advertising avoidance. The findings in this study provide basic data that can be used by various companies that use Facebook and advertising on Facebook for developing marketing strategy. In addition, future studies are expected on considering various variables related to user experience.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of students' perceptions by comparing factors affecting e-learning intention before and after e-learning experience based on longitudinal data. For this purpose, a research study was conducted targeting university students at Y and K universities in Gyeongsangbuk-do. As a result, first, the convenience of learning time, the ease of learning process, and the usefulness of e-learning had an effect on e-learning intention regardless of the learning experience. Second, the convenience of the learning space was different in the perception before and after the learning experience, and it was found to affect the intention to use after the e-learning experience. Third, college students who have experienced e-learning have shown that the ease of learning process has the most influence on their intention to use. The results of this study can provide an effective direction of e-learning activation and provide basic data for longitudinal research on e-learning learners.

  • This study aims to validate a tool evaluating MOOCs for higher education from the perspective of education service. Based on the results of related researches, a potential model for evaluating MOOCs (4 factors and 8 sub-factors) was made. An evaluation tool consisting of 18 survey items was delivered to 138 college students. After data cleaning, 136 surveys were used for exploratory factor analysis (principal component analysis. varimax rotation) and reliability analysis that confirmed the fitness of the potential model. Four exploratory constructs and seven sub-factors were extracted: Factor I was labeled as 'Systemic Learning Experience,' Factor II, 'Value Experience,' Factor III, 'Co-creation of Value Experience,' and Factor IV, 'High Order Learning Experience.' Reliability estimates using Cronbach's alpha indicated that the evaluation tool had good internal consistency. In conclusion, the evaluation tool for MOOCs in higher education was proven to be valid and reliable.

For this purpose, an online survey was conducted on unmarried adults aged 20 to 29 who are currently engaged in opposite-sex romantic relationships, and a total of 302 data were used for analysis.. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 29.0 and PROCESS MACRO v4.2. The main results of this study are as follows. First, intolerance of uncertainty and experiential avoidance had significant effects on relationship addiction. Second, experiential avoidance had a significant mediating effect between intolerance of uncertainty and relationship addiction tendencies. This study identified individual psychological factors that induce relationship addiction. Based on the research results, this study suggests directions for counseling interventions to reduce relationship addiction tendencies and promote healthier relationship patterns among unmarried adults.
