Offender profiling, as a crime investigation technique, aims to respond more effectively to violent crimes. However, attitude that police investigators hold toward offender profiling is quite skeptical, which prevents offender profiling from making effective and practical contributions to police investigations. Therefore, the present study explored development strategies of offender profiling by examining perceptions of offender profiling among 156 Korean National Police University students. Furthermore, a total of 166 students from other universities also participated as a control group. As a result, participants showed positive attitude toward offender profiling, in terms of its necessity, effectiveness, and reliability. However, they believed that Korean police agencies are not making the good use of offender profiling and that profilers are not necessarily taking the lead in solving cases. In terms of the profiler education, the majority of the students who showed interest in becoming a profiler did not know what to learn and how to prepare for becoming one. Finally, limitations of the present study were discussed and suggestions for further research were made.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the images of the Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Police Academy, and Armed Forces Nursing Academy using multidimensional scaling method. For this research, we surveyed 363 applicants to special purpose academies including Military Academies and Police College. The study showed that the Military, Naval, and Air Force Academies had stronger image than the Police Academy in the area of physical strength, tradition, and fellowship between senior and junior. On the other hand, the Police Academy had better image in the area of social activity and applicant's academic achievement. The Military Academy had been evaluated the best school among the three Academies in the area of applicant's academic achievement, educational environment, faculty, tradition, and fellowship between senior and junior.

Recently, diversification of social environment forces a fire administration new works. It is the development of Blue Ocean that a vision and substantive object the fire authority should pursuit. Now I recommend a variety of alternatives from the analysis of a survey of students who major in the fire or related fields, through the example of 120 service call program and police unit to discover new works. We should reclaim the name of department and promote life-contractive business with utilizing infra in the organization to get an remarkable success and reclaim Blue Ocean.
