A Study on Development ATCS of Transfer Crane using Neural Network Predictive Control (신경회로망 예측제어에 의한 Transfer Crane의 ATCS개발에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, an automatic crane control system is required with high speed and rapid transportation. Therefore, when container is transferred from th intial coordinate to the finial coordinate, the container paths should be built in terms of the least time and no swing. So in this paper, we calculated the anti-collision path for avoiding collision in its movement to the finial coordinate. And we constructed the neural network predictive PID (NNPPID) controller to control the precise navigation. The proposed predictive control system is composed of the neural network predictor, PID controller, neural network self-tuner which yields parameters of PID. Analyzed crane system through simulation, and proved excellency of control performance than other conventional controllers.

Patrol Monitoring Plan for Transmission Towers with a Commercial Drone and its Field Tests (상용화 드론을 이용한 송전선로 점검방안 및 현장시험)

  • Various types of robots running on power transmission lines have been developed for the purpose of line patrol monitoring. They usually have complex mechanism to run and avoid obstacles on the power line, but nevertheless did not show satisfactory performance for going over the obstacles. Moreover, they were so heavy that they could not be easily installed on the lines. To compensate these problems, flying robots have been developed and recently, multi-copter drones with flight stability have been used in the electric power industry. The drones could be remotely controlled by human operators to monitor power distribution lines. In the case of transmission line patrol, however, transmission towers are huge and their spans are very long, and thus, it is very difficult for the pilot to control the patrol drones with the naked eye from a long distance away. This means that the risk of a drone crash onto electric power facilities always resides. In addition, there exists another danger of electromagnetic interference with the drones on autopilot waypoint tracking under ultra-high voltage environments. This paper presents a patrol monitoring plan of autopilot drones for power transmission lines and its field tests. First, the magnetic field effect on an autopilot patrol drone is investigated. Then, how to build the flight path to avoid the magnetic interference is proposed and our autopilot drone system is introduced. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed patrol plan is confirmed through its field test results in the 154 kV, 345 kV and 765 kV transmission lines in Chungcheongnam-do.

Backward Path Tracking Control of a Trailer Type Robot Using a RCGS-Based Model (RCGA 기반의 모델을 이용한 트레일러형 로봇의 후방경로 추종제어)

  • This paper presents a methodology on the backward path tracking control of a trailer type robot which consists of two parts: a tractor and a trailer. It is difficult to control the motion of a trailer vehicle since its dynamics is non-holonomic. Therefore, in this paper, the modeling and parameter estimation of the system using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) is proposed and a backward path tracking control algorithm is then obtained based on the linearized model. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This research presents an A* based algorithm which can be applied to Unmanned Ground Vehicle self-navigation in order to make the driving path smoother. Based on the grid map, A* algorithm generated the path by using straight lines. However, in this situation, the knee points, which are the connection points when vehicle changed orientation, are created. These points make Unmanned Ground Vehicle continuous navigation unsuitable. Therefore, in this paper, B-spline curve function is applied to transform the path transfer into curve type. And because the location of the control point has influenced the B-spline curve, the optimal control selection algorithm is proposed. Also, the optimal path tracking speed can be calculated through the curvature radius of the B-spline curve. Finally, based on this algorithm, a path created program is applied to the path results of the A* algorithm and this B-spline curve algorithm. After that, the final path results are compared through the simulation.

Navigation Trajectory Control of Security Robots to Restrict Access to Potential Falling Accident Areas for the Elderly (노약자의 낙상가능지역 진입방지를 위한 보안로봇의 주행경로제어)

  • One of the goals in the field of mobile robotics is the development of personal service robots for the elderly which behave in populated environments. In this paper, we describe a security robot system and ongoing research results that minimize the risk of the elderly and the infirm to access an area to enter restricted areas with high potential for falls, such as stairs, steps, and wet floors. The proposed robot system surveys a potential falling area with an equipped laser scanner sensor. When it detects walking in elderly or infirm patients who in restricted areas, the robot calculates the velocity vector, plans its own path to forestall the patient in order to prevent them from heading to the restricted area and starts to move along the estimated trajectory. The walking human is assumed to be a point-object and projected onto a scanning plane to form a geometrical constraint equation that provides position data of the human based on the kinematics of the mobile robot. While moving, the robot continues these processes in order to adapt to the changing situation. After arriving at an opposite position to the human's walking direction, the robot advises them to change course. The simulation and experimental results of estimating and tracking of the human in the wrong direction with the mobile robot are presented.

Prediction of Trajectories of Particles Generated Underneath a Subway Train Running in An Underground Tunnel (지하터널에서 주행하는 전동차의 하부에서 발생한 입자의 이동경로 예측)

  • In this study, the flow around a subway train running in an underground tunnel was numerically estimated. For the validation of the numerical results, the airflow velocity at a point underneath a subway train was measured using an ultrasonic anemometer. Then, the trajectories of particles generated at the contact points between the wheels and rails were numerically predicted. By considering the airflow velocity and particle trajectories, the space underneath the T-Car (trailer car) was expected to be appropriate for the room for the installation of a dust-removal system.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop micro simulation model for large-scale network with driver's behavior model. This study is performed for uninterrupted flow road section. And this model is developed to simulate traffic flow of the real network with unique geometric structure. The vehicle transmission and drivers' behavior model based on the exiting Cellular Automata approach.

  • 세계적으로 많은 연구원들이 3차원 모델링에 대하여 연구하고 있다. 특히 무인자동차의 주행을 위한 센서시스템, 경로생성, 3차원 월드모델링 방법 등에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 이 논문은 스테레오 카메라를 이용한 3차원 도시환경복원을 위한 방법을 제안한다. 전체적인 시스템은 다중센서(스테레오 카메라, DGPS, IMU), PC, 이동로봇(전기차)으로 구성하였다. 스테레오 카메라를 통해 들어오는 이미지는 스테레오 정합기법을 이용하여 지역좌표계의 3차원 점군을 획득하는데 이용되며, DGPS와 IMU를 통해 얻은 정보는 이동로봇의 위치를 추정하는데 이용된다. 지역좌표계의 3차원 점군과 이동로봇의 위치를 융합하면 세계좌표계의 3차원 점군을 얻을 수 있으며, 이를 이용하여 도시환경을 복원을 시행하였다. 또한 스테레오 정합기법을 통해 얻어지는 점군의 중복복원을 회피하기 위하여 임시추적을 이용한다. 임시추적을 통해 동일한 점으로 판단되는 경우 중복복원을 방지하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 실험결과는 3차원 도시환경 복원을 수행하여 점군으로 표현하였다.

  • This paper introduces a robot platform which can do weeding while traveling between rice seedlings stably against irregular land surface of a paddy field. Also, an autonomous navigation technique that can track on stable state without any damage of the seedlings in the working area is proposed. Detection of the rice seedlings and avoidance knocking down by the robot platform is achieved by the sensor fusion of a laser range finder (LRF) and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). These sensors are also used to control navigating direction of the robot to keep going along the column of rice seedling consistently. Deviation of the robot direction from the rice column that is sensed by the LRF is fed back to a proportional and derivative controller to obtain stable adjustment of navigating direction and get proper returning speed of the robot to the rice column.

  • In this paper, we develop anti-sway control in proposed techniques for an ATC system. The developed algorithm is to build the optimal path of container motion and to calculate an anti-collision path for collision avoidance in its movement to the finial coordinate. Moreover, in order to show the effectiveness in this research, we compared NNP PID controller to be tuning parameters of controller using NN with 2 DOF PID controller. The experimental results for an ATC simulator show that the proposed control scheme guarantees performances, trolley position, sway angle, and settling time in NNP PID controller than other controller. As a result, the application of NNP PID controller is analyzed to have robustness about disturbance which is wind of fixed pattern in the yard. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm in this study can be readily used for industrial applications
