Objectives: To standardize treatment, improve quality of medical service, and reduce medical costs of patients with depression by developing a clinical pathway (CP) of Korean medicine. Methods: CP was developed based on clinical practice guideline (CPG) for depression. To consider the degree of economic burden and satisfaction, the current status of management for patients with depression was examined. After CP was primarily developed, contents of the CP were supplemented by referring to previously developed CPs. Results: Based on CPG, current status survey and previous CP, four types of CP (Korean medicine clinics, Korean medicine hospitals, Western-Korean medicine collaborative hospitals, public medical center) were developed and shown in the algorithm version. However, in the case of Korean medicine hospitals and Western-Korean medicine collaborative hospitals, CPs were detailed according to different clinical scenes of outpatients and inpatients. This study also shows six different time task matrix version. Conclusions: CP for depression is expected to not only reduce financial burden of patients and health insurance, but also increase the quality of treatment and satisfaction.

LMS (least mean square) algorithm widely used in the AVCS (active vibration control system) of helicopters calculates control input using the forward path transfer function and error signal. If the error signal is sinusoidal, it can be represented as the combination of cosine and sine functions with frequency and phase synchronized with the reference signal. The control input also has the same frequency, therefore control algorithm can be simply implemented if the cosine and the sine amplitudes of the control input are calculated and the frequency and phase of the reference signal are used. Calculation of the control input is implemented as simple matrix operation and the change of the control command is slower than the frequency of the error signal, consequently control algorithm can be operated at lower frequency. The signal processing algorithm extracting cosine and sine components of the error signals are modeled using Simulink and PIL (processor-in-the-loop) mode simulation was executed for real-time performance evaluation.
The geometric properties of the drainage structures are analyzed through depicting the drainage network which is composed of the whole drainage paths in the natural basin defined at the specific scale. The theoretical consideration is performed on the general structures of networks organized by ramification process based on Fractal tree and Horton's law. The drainage network is generated via ArcGIS, ordered by Strahler's ordering scheme and investigated with Strahler's order. As a results of the Richardson's method it is shown that there may exist the distinct behavioral characteristics between overland-flow and channel flow and the natural stream networks would be space-filling Fractals. As a result, it is shown that the values estimated by considering the overland-flow on being applied to the field data give the different results from the empirical method applied until now. As expected, therefore the results obtained from this study are sure to be devoted further researches on the channel networks.
In the present study, we analyze the four participating 9th grade students' mathematical reasoning processes in their dragging activities while solving open-ended geometry problems in terms of abduction, induction and deduction. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the students utilized 'abduction' to adopt their hypotheses, 'induction' to generalize them by examining various cases and 'deduction' to provide warrants for the hypotheses. Secondly, in the abduction process, 'wandering dragging' and 'guided dragging' seemed to help the students formulate their hypotheses, and in the induction process, 'dragging test' was mainly used to confirm the hypotheses. Despite of the emerging mathematical reasoning via their dragging activities, several difficulties were identified in their solving processes such as misunderstanding shapes as fixed figures, not easily recognizing the concept of dependency or path, not smoothly proceeding from probabilistic reasoning to deduction, and trapping into circular logic.

Earthwork planning is one of the critical issues in a construction process management. For the construction process management, there are some different approaches such as optimizing construction with either mathematical methodologies or heuristics with simulations. This paper propose a simulated earthwork scenario and an optimal path for the simulation using a reinforcement learning. For reinforcement learning, we use two different Markov decision process, or MDP, formulations with interacting excavator agent and truck agent, sequenced learning, and independent learning. The simulation result shows that two different formulations can reach the optimal planning for a simulated earthwork scenario. This planning could be a basis for an automatic construction management.
This study was done to develop PDA based application system for forest geographic information with GPS. The major results obtained in this study were as follows. A PDA based application program was developed to work on $Microsoft^{TM}$ PocketPC 2002 and 2003 operating system. The screen of PDA displays a 1:25,000 digital topographical map adopted DXF format converted from PC, and the map data with 1:2,500 to 1:30,000 on PDA can be zoomed in or out to five levels. Current position and navigating path received from GPS can be displayed on the screen and be saved in PDA. Information selected among layers of digital topographic map in DXF format can be converted into binary files which can be used on forest geographic information software. This can compress DXF files to 90% in size, and the processing speed of PDA was improved. The forest geographic information management system can be used to manage sample plots on which forest inventory is done, with the help of the sub-menus and grid index values with position information received from GPS. Forest workers can in quire forest geographic information such as forest type, location, forest roads, soil erosion control dams using forest geographic information management system in the field. The forest geographic information management system can provide current position and mobile path information to people who enjoy forest related activities like mountain-climbing, sightseeing, and visiting to historic spots.
Recently, the population of toxic and/or unusable jellyfish is increasing during summer along the east coast of Korea, causing massive economical and ecological damage to fisheries, nuclear power plant and marine environment. To solve this problem, this study was carried out using jellyfish as a potential soil additive for horticulture. The jellyfish was solidified and homogenized, then mixed with a commercial bed soil. Allium tuberosum ROTH was planted to control bed soil (BS) and jellyfish powder mixed bed soil groups (Mixed bed soil, MBS), and following parameters were measured during five weeks: water content, electrical conductivity and growth of leaves. At the end of the experiment, bacterial community structures of each pot were analyzed by DGGE. The relative water adsorption of jellyfish powder was about 2.5 times greater compared to its dry weight. The water content of MBS group was significantly higher than BS group 6.5 to 14.2%, and the electric conductivity of MBS group was measured around 2.8 dS/m where BS group was resulted average of 1.8 dS/m. However, the leaves of BS group were grown 30% longer compared to MBS group. DGGE analysis of MBS group was shown in high number of phylum Bacteroidetes and increased diversity of Sphingobacteriia compared to BS group. Jellyfish powder as a soil additive surely will be a good candidate as humectant and microbiota stimulator, although there are several obstacles such as high electrical conductivity and residual alum salt which used for solidification of jellyfish.
Oxidative stress results in sustained release of heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) from vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). We investigated whether extracellular HSP90 predisposed VSMCs to pro-inflammatory phenotype. Exposure of human aortic smooth muscle cells to HSP90 not only significantly enhanced CXCL10 secretion but also increased CXCL10 transcription. HSP90-mediated CXCL10 secretion was attenuated by OxPAPC, a TLR-2/4 inhibitor, and curcumin, a TLR-4 dimerization inhibitor. Inhibitors of diphenyleneiodium chloride and the Akt pathway also attenuated CXCL10 secretion in response to HSP90. The gene delivery of I${\kappa}$B using recombinant adenoviruses and treatment with resveratrol, which inhibit NF-${\kappa}$B activity, significantly attenuated HSP90-induced CXCL10 secretion from VSMCs. We propose that extracellular HSP90 contributes to an inflammatory reaction in the stressed vasculature by inducing CXCL10 expression of VSMCs, and that TLR-4, Akt, and NF-${\kappa}$B play active roles in the process.
As of many organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls are ubiquitous organic contaminants, which can be found in the most environmental matrices. Their toxic effects include endocrinedisrupting activity. Most researches with these toxicants performed with mixtures of congeners, namely Aroclor and related study has been done in complex environmental matrix, rather than single biosystems or pure congeners. 5 congeners were synthesized and their fates in pure microbial culture (Aspergillus niger) were determined in this study. Among biphenyl and synthetic congeners, biphenyl, PCB-1 (2-chlorobiphenyl), and PCB-3 (4-chlorobiphenyl) were rapidly transformed to hydrophilic metabolites, followed by PCB-38 (3,4,5-trichlorobiphenyl), while the degradation of PCB-126 (3,3',4,4',5-pentachlorobiphenyl) was not observed. The amounts of transformation for biphenyl, PCB-1, PCB-3, and PCB-38 were 65, 38, 52, and 2% respectively. The major metabolites of the above congeners were identified as mono- and di-hydroxy biphenyls, which are known to give adverse endocrinological effects.
