A Markov Approximation-Based Approach for Network Service Chain Embedding (Markov Approximation 프레임워크 기반 네트워크 서비스 체인 임베딩 기법 연구)

  • To reduce management costs and improve performance, the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) introduced the concept of network function virtualization (NFV), which can implement network functions (NFs) on cloud/datacenters. Within the NFV architecture, NFs can share physical resources by hosting NFs on physical nodes (commodity servers). For network service providers who support NFV architectures, an efficient resource allocation method finds utility in being able to reduce operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX). Thus, in this paper, we analyzed the network service chain embedding problem via an optimization formulation and found a close-optimal solution based on the Markov approximation framework. Our simulation results show that our approach could increases on average CPU utilization by up to 73% and link utilization up to 53%.

A Study on the Possibility of Using the Aerial-Based Vehicle Detection System for Real-Time Traffic Data Collection (항공 기반 차량검지시스템의 실시간 교통자료 수집에의 활용 가능성에 관한 연구)

  • In the US, Japan and Germany the Aerial-Based Vehicle Detection System, which collects real-time traffic data using the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft has been developed for the last several years. Therefore, this study was done to find out whether the Aerial-Based Vehicle Detection System could be used for real-time traffic data collection. For this purpose the study was divided into two parts. In the first part the possibility of retrieving real-time traffic data such as travel speed from the aerial photographic image using the image processing technique was examined. In the second part the quality of the retrieved real-time traffic data was examined to find out whether the data are good enough to be used as traffic information source. Based on the results of examinations we could conclude that it would not be easy for the Aerial- Based Vehicle Detection System to replace the present Vehicle Detection System due to technological difficulties and high cost. However, the system could be effectively used to make the emergency traffic management plan in case of incidents such as abrupt heavy rain, heavy snow, multiple pile-up, etc.

Analysis of Regional Environment in the Nak-Dong River Watershed using Geographic Information System (지리정보시스템을 이용한 낙동강 유역권의 광역환경분석)

  • Recently urbanization and industrialization around the Nak-dong river watershed have lead to the regional environmental problems. In this viewpoint, we took up variables which were related to watershed environment, and found out spatial and environmental properties of the Nak-dong river using factor analysis, ANOVA test and geographic information system. The results may be summarized as follows; three common factors which were named as urban, agricultural and industrial pollutant factor extracted from statistical methods. Spatial distribution of watershed environment could be found by connection attributes of factor scores derived from factor analysis to digital map using GIS. According to the results, distribution of pollutant sources were concentrated in the main stream of the Nak-dong river and its tributaries, Kum-ho river. So it is necessary to manage the watershed environment in due consideration of environmental carrying capacity.

  • 새로 개발된 모형에 대한 민감도 분석은 입력변수의 선정 및 보정을 위한 필요한 지침을 제공하기 위해 수행되어야 할 필수적인 과정이다. 동적 농업비점오염 평가모델 (dynamic agricultural nonpoint source assessment tool, DANSAT)은 농업 최적관리기법(BMP)의 지표 및 지하수에 대한 영향을 평가하기 위해 개발된 3차원 모델이다. 본 연구의 목적은 서로 다른 토층 및 유역내 위치에서 입력변수의 변화에 따른 지표 및 지하관련 출력들의 반응을 토대로 DANSAT의 일반적인 민감도 분석을 수행하는 것이다. 선정된 입력변수들의 변화에 따른 세가지의 지표관련 출력 (유출량, 유사량, 유출수중 농약 부하량) 및 두가지의 지하관련 출력 (지하수로의 유입 유량 및 지하수로의 농약 유입량)의 반응이 고려되었다. 민감한 입력변수들은 하나의 격자만을 이용한 예비 민감도 분석을 통하여 선정되었는데, 대체로 토양 관련 인자들이 지표 및 지하에서 양적/질적으로 민감하게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 예비민감도 분석을 통해 선정된 토양입력변수들의 서로 다른 토층에서의 변화에 따른 모형 출력들의 반응을 고려한 수직적 민감도 분석결과, 지표관련 출력들의 경우 지표 부근의 상층 토양의 인자가, 지하관련 출력들의 경우 하부 토층의 인자가 각각 민감하게 작용하는 것으로 평가되었다. 유역내에서 입력변수들의 공간적 위치의 변화에 따른 반응을 고려하는 수평적 민감도 분석결과, 유역 경계의 주변보다 하천 주변에서의 입력변수 변화가 모형의 지표 및 지하관련 출력들에 민감한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 BMP의 지표 및 지하의 수문/수질에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 개발된 DANSAT 모형의 입력변수 선정 및 보정에 유용한 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • Dynamic origin-destination (OD) trip matrix has been widely used for transportation fields such as dynamic traffic assignment, traffic operation and travel demand management, which needs precise OD trip matrix to be collected. This paper presents a quasi-dynamic OD matrix estimation model and applies it to real road network for collecting the dynamic OD matrix. The estimation model combined with dynamic traffic assignment program, DYNASMART-P, is based on GPS embedded in PDA, which developed for collecting sample dynamic OD matrix. The sample OD matrix should be expanded by the value of optimal sampling ratio calculated from minimization program. From application to real network of Jeju, we confirm that the model and its algorithm produce a reasonable solution.

  • 하천의 유량자료는 수위, 우량 등과 함께 수문 해석을 위해 매우 중요하다. 유량자료는 수자원을 정확하게 파악하기 위해 가장 중요한 자료이기 때문에 측정을 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 그러나 유량측정은 다른 수문관측과는 달리 변동성이 크고 오차의 범위가 커서 실제 활용에 많은 한계가 있는 것도 사실이다. 유량은 유속계를 이용하여 현장에서 인력으로 직접 측정되기 때문에 현장의 측정조건, 측정하는 사람의 기술적 숙련도 등에 따라 크게 변화할 수 있는 요소를 가지고 있다. 또한 유량자료는 대부분의 경우 연속적인 자료획득이 곤란하기 때문에 수위-유량관계를 이용하여 연속측정된 수위를 유량으로 환산한다. 이와 같은 수위-유량관계는 현장의 조건이 변화하지 않는다는 가정하에서 이루어지는 것이므로 실제 현장에서 발생하는 변화를 고려할 수 없는 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서 유량 모니터링 대상인 서낙동강은 정체수역으로서 하천의 상류와 하류에 대저수문과 녹산수문이 위치해 있고, 두 수문의 개방시 일정시간 동안의 연속적이고 정확한 유량변화의 측정을 필요로 한다. 서낙동강은 녹산수문에서 바다와의 수위차를 고려하여 수문을 개방하기 때문에 대저수문과 녹산수문의 개방 시기 및 시간이 매 순간 유동적이다. 본 연구에서는 서낙동강의 수질 및 수량 관리를 위하여 수문운영에 따른 유량변화를 측정하고자 하였으며, 전술한 바와 같은 한계를 극복하기 위해 유량측정장비는 최첨단 장비인 ADCP를 활용하였다. ADCP(Accoustic Doppler Current Profiler)는 최근에 하천유량측정을 위해 활용되고 있는 장비로서 음파의 도플러 효과를 이용하여 하천을 횡단하면서 단시간에 유속과 유량을 측정한다. 국내의 경우 1990년대 후반부터 도입된 ADCP는 유량측정 기법과 현장 적용상의 문제가 일정부분 검토되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 유속계를 이용해서 측정한 유량값과 비교하여 ADCP에 의한 결과를 검증하고, 수문운영에 따른 비정상 유량변화를 모니터링하고자 하였다.

Study of the Introduction of a Nanomaterials Regulatory Policy for Product Safety (제품안전관리를 위한 나노물질 규제정책 도입평가 연구)

  • Recently, the use of nanotechnology in products is constantly expanding, and the problems on human health hazard has emerged as a major issue. A nanomaterials regulatory policy on the products is urgently required. This study analyzed the introduction of regulatory policies of nanomaterials contained in industrial products. In this study, the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was applied and three regulatory policies were evaluated to analyze the validity of the introduction of a nanomaterials regulatory policy. To select the optimal regulatory policy, the policy evaluation criteria were set as enforcement (effectiveness), economics, acceptability, and protection. For the regulatory policies, self-regulation, product labelling, and enforced registration were introduced and evaluated as the regulatory policies, and product labelling was selected as the optimal regulatory policy.

  • The existing DLC system functionally has two defects. One is it has to be controlled by operators whenever customer's portion of loads are increased more than predefined objected load. Therefore, it may be possible for propagating uncontrolled loads if operators make a mistake. The other one is that currently used DLC algorithm is usually focused on ON/OFF load control not concerning about reliving participated customer's inconvenience. Therefore, that is a major obstacle to attract customer participating in demand response program. This paper represents direct load control system using active database. By using active database, DLC system can control customer's load effectively without intervening of operator. And by using dynamic programming based on the order of priority for DLC algorithm, it is possible to maximize participating customer's satisfaction.

  • Due to the success of Wealthfront, Betterment, etc., there is a growing interest in RoboAdvisor that is an automated asset allocation methodology globally. RoboAdvisor minimizes human involvement in managing assets, thereby reducing the costs of using services and eliminating human psychological factors. In this paper, we developed a predictive model for the KOSPI 200 Futures Index using deep learning, in order to replace the existing technical analysis technique. And the proposed model confirmed that When the KOSPI 200 Gift Index is small, it can be used to predict direction and price of index. In combination with the existing technical analysis, It is confirmed that the proposed models combining with existing technical analyses and can be applied to the RoboAdvisor Service in the future.

  • MC(Mission Computer) performs important function in avionics system which tactic data processing, image processing and managing navigation system etc. In general, the fault of SPOF(Single Point Of Failure) in unity system can lead to failure of whole system. It can cause a failure of a mission and also can threaten to the life of the pilot. So, in this paper, we design the HA(Hight-availability) system so that dealing with the failure. And we use HA software like Heartbeat, Fake, DRBD and Bonding to manage HA system. Also we analyze the performance of HA system using the FDT(Fault Detection Time) for fast fault detection and MTTR(Mean Time To Repair) for mission continuity.
