  • Owner's participation on a construction project can alter the success of a construction project. In general, success of a construction project is measured by project schedule and cost decrease without considering the role an owner has in a project. As a result, this research developed a framework for the project evaluation form and after extracting a total of 9 project critical success factors (CSF) and 27 sub-CSF. AHP method was utilized to evaluate the importance factor of each CSFs. Setting a goal for each CSFs at the beginning of a project and comparing the values at the completion of the project utilizing the project evaluation form will allow a systematic evaluation and management of a project. Solution Map was introduced and Solution Tool was suggested in order to utlize the evaluation results effectively. In the future studies, various project cases needs to be supplemented for further verification and a solution based on the evaluation result needs to be developed that can be applied to construction projects.

  • P2P (Peer to Peer) techniques have been well applied to file sharing due to its cost-effectiveness and convenience. Dynamic network evolution is another good thing for P2P according to addition and deletion of nodes and change of files a node has. Our research proposes a P2P-based KMS (Knowledge Management System). Knowledge of enterprises spreads all over sub-organizations like oversea factories and sales departments and is changed in dynamic manner. P2P techniques are, therefore well matched with knowledge management domain. In order to increase search efficiency, we introduce social network theory into P2P-based KMS. Social network technique makes the most similar nodes (in KMS domain, nodes which has the most similar knowledge) its own neighbors, which makes eventually search efficiency increase. We developed our prototype system P2P-SN-KMS and evaluated by simulation.

  • Baekdu-daegan is the greatest mountain chain as well as the major ecological axis of the Korean Peninsula. In recent year, however, this area is faced with the various kinds of developmental urge. To cope adequately with these problems, this study was executed to prepare synthetic and systematic management with conservation-oriented strategy for Baekdu-daegan and to suggest spatially definite zoning for the managerial area. This study is to take into consideration the traditional concepts of stream and watershed as well as the actual disturbance on Baekdu-daegan area. The study area is selected with semi-mountainous type, from Namdeokyusan to Sosagogae. To propose the process for reasonably establishing the managerial boundary adjacent to the Ridges, the analysis was carried out that ArcGIS was mainly used for its analysis with digital maps, Landsat TM image and ArcGIS Hydro Model. Landsat TM image was classified by 5 land use types such as cultivated land, urban area, barren area, water body and forest. Based on these analyses results, the managerial boundaries as alternatives from the Ridges were produced by watershed expansion process, and used for tracing the changes of areal ratio of various land use types to the relevant watersheds to search out the adequate managerial boundary. The results show that watershed expansion process could be effective tool for establishing the managerial boundary, and eighth expanded watershed toward Muju-Gun(west) and fifth expanded watershed toward Geochang-Gun(east) might be included for the adequate managerial boundary of the case site.

  • In this study, we developed a simulation model for supply chain management of Precast Concrete (PC) based construction. To this end, information on the Factory Production/Site Construction system was collected through literature review and field research, and based on this information, a simulation model was defined by describing the supply chain, entities, resources, and processes. Next, using the Arena simulation software, a simulation model for the PC supply chain was developed by setting model frameworks, data modules, flowchart modules, and animation modules. Finally, verification and validation were performed using five review methodologies such as model check, animation check, extreme value test, average value test, and actual case test to the developed model. As a result, it was found that the model adequately represented the flows and characteristics of the PC supply chain without any logical errors and provided accurate performance evaluation values for the target supply chains. It is expected that the proposed simulation model will faithfully play a role as a performance evaluation platform in the future for developing management techniques in order to optimally operate the PC supply chain.

  • In the practice of preloading method for soft ground improvement, field engineers need information of ground properties, construction works and field monitoring on ground behaviors of the site. So, integrating all these informations into one database can provide more efficient way for managing and utilizing the data for construction management. In this study, integrated system for construction management of ground improvement sites under preloading is developed. The developed system consists of database (DB) and application program. The database contains all collected data in a construction site and processed data in the system with their geographic information. All informations in the database are standardized from the result of data characterization. Application program performs various functions on managing and utilizing information in the database; pre- and post- data processing with graphic visualization of output, spatial data interpolation, and prediction of ground behavior using field measuring data. And by providing integrating informations and predictions over entire project area with comprehensible visual displays, the applicability and effectiveness of the developed system for construction management were confirmed.

  • This study was evaluated high end research grade Near infrared spectrophotometer (NIRS) to low end popular field grade multiple Near infrared spectrophotometer (NIRS) for rapid analysis at forage quality at sight with 241 samples of Italian ryegrass silage during 3 years collected whole country for evaluate accuracy and precision between instruments. Firstly collected and build database high end research grade NIRS using with Unity Scientific Model 2500X (650 nm~2,500 nm) then trim and fit to low end popular field grade NIRS with Unity Scientific Model 1400 (1,400 nm~2,400 nm) then build and create calibration, transfer calibration with special transfer algorithm. The result between instruments was 0.000%~0.343% differences, rapidly analysis for chemical constituents, NDF, ADF, and crude protein, crude ash and fermentation parameter such as moisture, pH and lactic acid, finally forage quality parameter, TDN, DMI, RFV within 5 minutes at sight and the result equivalent with laboratory data. Nevertheless during 3 years collected samples for build calibration was organic samples that make differentiate by local or yearly bases etc. This strongly suggest population evaluation technique needed and constantly update calibration and maintenance calibration to proper handling database accumulation and spread out by knowledgable control laboratory analysis and reflect calibration update such as powerful control center needed for long lasting usage of forage analysis with NIRS at sight. Especially the agriculture products such as forage will continuously changes that made easily find out the changes and update routinely, if not near future NIRS was worthless due to those changes. Many research related NIRS was shortly study not long term study that made not well using NIRS, so the system needed check simple and instantly using with local language supported signal methods Global Distance (GD) and Neighbour Distance (ND) algorithm. Finally the multiple popular field grades instruments should be the same results not only between research grade instruments but also between multiple popular field grade instruments that needed easily transfer calibration and maintenance between instruments via internet networking techniques.

  • Supercomputer that shares limited resources to multiple users needs a way to optimize the execution of application. For this, it is useful for system administrators to get prior information and hint about the applications to be executed. In most high-performance computing system operations, system administrators strive to increase system productivity by receiving information about execution duration and resource requirements from users when executing tasks. They are also using profiling techniques that generates the necessary information using statistics such as system usage to increase system utilization. In a previous study, we have proposed a scheduling optimization technique by developing a hardware performance counter-based profiling technique that enables characterization of applications without further understanding of the source code. In this paper, we constructed a profiling testbed cluster to support optimal execution of the supercomputer and experimented with the scalability of the profiling method to analyze application characteristics in the built cluster environment. Also, we experimented that the profiling method can be utilized in actual scheduling optimization with scalability even if the application class is reduced or the number of nodes for profiling is minimized. Even though the number of nodes used for profiling was reduced to 1/4, the execution time of the application increased by 1.08% compared to profiling using all nodes, and the scheduling optimization performance improved by up to 37% compared to sequential execution. In addition, profiling by reducing the size of the problem resulted in a quarter of the cost of collecting profiling data and a performance improvement of up to 35%.

  • In this paper, we conduct the research about optimal aggregation interval of travel time data on interrupted traffic flow and verify the reliability of AVI collected data by using car plate matching method in RTMS for systematic collection and analysis of link travel time data on interrupted traffic flow rural arterial. We perform Kolmosorov-Smirnov test on AVT collected sample data and on entire population data, and conclude that the sample data does not represent pure random sampling and hence includes sample collection error. We suggest that additional review is necessary to investigate the effectiveness of AVI collected sample data as link representative data. We also develop statistical model by applying two estimation techniques namely point estimation and interval estimation for calculating optimal aggregation interval. We have implemented our model and determine that point estimate is preferable over interval estimate for exactly selecting and deciding optimal aggregation interval. Our final conclusion is that 5-minute aggregation interval is optimal to estimate travel time in RTMS, as is currently being used our investigation is based on AVI data collected from Yang-ji to Yong-in $42^{nd}$ National road.
