Analysis of accident types at small and medium-sized construction sites based on web scraping and text mining (웹 스크래핑 및 텍스트마이닝에 기반한 중소규모 건설현장 사고유형 분석)

  • The construction industry's fatality count stands at 402, comprising approximately 46% of total industrial accidents. Notably, construction costs less than 5 billion won account for about 69%, so strengthening safety management at small and medium-sized construction sites is required. In this study, 19,511 accident investigation data were collected using web scraping. Through statistical analysis of the collected structured data and text mining analysis of the unstructured data, accident types and causes of accidents were analyzed by construction costs at sites less than 5 billion won. As a result, it was confirmed that there were differences in accident types and causes depending on the construction costs. It is hoped that the results of this study will be used for customized safety management at small and medium-sized construction sites.

  • Although various policies have been conducted on safety work of construction equipment such as lifts, tower cranes, and mobile cranes, institutional and managerial problems, and improvement measures, accidents are still not decreasing. This study tried to identify differences in the viewpoints of supervisors, safety managers, and construction machinery operators and to obtain survey data on the awareness and necessity of related safety education. In conclusion, accidents would be reduced when workers received effective training on accurate work methods, safety rules, and recognition and removal of risk factors.

  • Most accidents at construction sites are occurring in vulnerable groups such as new workers, foreign workers, and elderly workers. These vulnerable workers often lead to accidents due to the lack of awareness of risks. Therefore, in order to reduce accidents, it is necessary to pay attention to and manage vulnerable workers. This study attempted to identify the level of safety awareness and safety management priorities for vulnerable workers through IPA analysis. New workers should be able to adapt to the field as soon as possible, and foreign workers were found to need frequent check-ups due to language communication problems. In the case of older workers, it was analyzed that it was necessary to check their health and to check whether they were performing other tasks than the prescribed ones.

  • 창원시와 마산시, 진해시가 합쳐져 지난 2010년 출범한 통합 창원시. 3개시가 통합되면서 인구 110만명에 달하는 거대 기초단체가 설립됐다. 이에 발맞춰 이곳에서는 각종 사회기반시설, 생활편의시설들이 속속 들어섰고 이 가운데에는 신(新) 주거문화의 중심을 이끄는 것도 포함돼 있다. 바로 태영건설이 야심차게 시공하고 있는 '마산메트로시티 2단지 아파트'가 그것이다. 특히 이곳은 경남에서는 최초의 초고층아파트(최고층 55층)라는 상징성까지 갖고 있다. 때문에 이곳을 시공하는 태영건설에서는 안전에 남다른 관심과 노력을 기울이고 있다. 조그마한 사고도 이런 명성에 오점을 남길 수 있기 때문이다. 무재해 준공을 목표로 하고 있는 이곳의 안전관리가 어떻게 전개되고 있는지 찾아가 봤다.

  • Workers who die from falls at construction sites account for about 40 percent of the total number of deaths and are the main forms of accidents. In addition, as the nation's population structure is gradually aging, the rate of aging is increasing at construction sites, and the number of crashes due to decreased physical function and cognitive ability is increasing. Accordingly, we conducted a survey on the factors affecting the fall of older workers and would like to present more fundamental measures to prevent falls, focusing on older workers who are the victims of the disaster.

  • Korea has achieved great economic growth, but the high rate of accidents in the industry still threatens the safety of workers and causes a lot of property loss. In order to lower the accident rate, the Occupational Safety and Health Act was fully revised in April 2020 and safety management was strengthened, but the number of deaths rather increased. In response, the government and the National Assembly implemented the Serious Accident Punishment Act in January 2022, but the effect has not been confirmed. So, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on how the safety awareness of construction site workers and managers was affected after the Serious Accident Punishment Act. and suggested measures to improve safety management.

  • 건설은 경제 발전과 일자리 창출에 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 그러나, 건설 산업은 타 산업에 비하여 고위험 산업으로, 매년 많은 사고와 재해가 발생하고 있다. 노동부 중대산업재해감독과에 따르면 2022 년 재해조사 대상 사망사고 발생 현황 발표 결과, 건설 사고 사망자는 341 명으로, 전체 산업재해 사망사고자의 53%를 차지하고 있다. 최근 사회 변화와 다양한 경기 변동, 물가 상승에 따라 건설 공사 비용 절감을 위한 안정성 결여, 시공 품질 관리의 어려움, 근로자 안전 의식 부족 등의 문제가 심화되고 있다. 이에 따라, 건설 현장의 근본적인 안전문화의 정착과 함께, 첨단 ICT 기술을 활용한 지능형 건설 안전관리 시스템의 구축이 필요한다. 그리고, 건설안전관리를 위한 스마트 건설 안전관리통합관제시스템(SCMS)의 기능과 적용 범위를 더욱 확대함으로써 건설 현장의 안전사고 예방을 개선할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이를 위해 지속적인 다양한 연구와 데이터 수집과 분석 등 기술적인 연구와 함께 법과 제도에 대한 개선 논의가 필요하다.

  • According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor's industrial accident death statistics, the number of accident deaths in the construction industry increased by 30 people year-on-year to 458, with 77.3% of the accident deaths aged 50 or older and 41.9% aged 60 or older. This study conducted and analyzed a survey to identify safety education, protective equipment, and safety consciousness for 68 elderly workers working at construction sites. As a result, the necessity of diversifying safety education using visual data was confirmed to reconsider the contradictory safety consciousness of elderly workers. It also confirmed the need to improve protective equipment, such as providing protective equipment suitable for individual bodies and periodic replacement, for workers who are passive in wearing protective equipment despite the high need for protective equipment.

  • 우리나라의 명실상부한 최고 휴양지. 외국인들이 가장 찾고 싶어하는 곳. 바로 제주도를 이르는 말이다. 제주도는 지난 11월 12일 '뉴세븐원더스(New7wonders)'에 의해 '세계 7대 자연경관'으로 선정됐다. 이를 통해 제주도는 우리나라 국민들은 물론, 전세계인들에게 관광지 및 자연유산의 산실로 더욱 큰 사랑을 받을 것으로 전망된다. 최근 이곳에 아주 의미있는 건물이 들어서고 있다. 바로 제주세계자연유산센터다. 제주의 관광을 상징하고 국제적 위상에 걸 맞는 탐방인프라를 구축하고자 추진해 온 세계자연유산센터는 지난해 8월 착공에 들어가 내년 6월에 준공될 계획에 있다. 이 센터는 제주 자연유산의 관리 및 보전을 위한 연구와 모니터링 활동을 하게 된다. 쉽게 말해 제주도의 모든 자연 문화적 유산을 이 제주세계자연유산센터에서 통괄적으로 관리, 운영하게 되는 것이다. 이렇게 사회적으로 큰 의미가 있는 제주세계자연유산센터가 만약 안전하지 못하다면? 안전이 확보되지 않는 공정과 시민들의 안전을 담보지 못하는 시설이라면, 전세계인은 물론 지역민, 국내관광객 모두에게 외면 받을 수 밖에 없다. 때문에 이곳 건설현장은 '안전'을 최고의 가치로 여기며 공사를 진행하고 있다. 제주도를 찾는 국내외 관광객들의 쉼터이자 길라잡이 역할을 하게 될 제주세계자연유산센터가 안전하게 만들어지는 과정을 한 번 들여다 봤다.

  • In construction sites, effective preventive safety management is required beyond post-processing safety management. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present a model and analyze the relationship between safety management activities, safety culture key elements, safety, unsafe behavior management, and safety for autonomous and preventive safety management. Method: The relationship was analyzed by applying the survey data to the structural equation, and the path to safety outcomes from exogenous variables was explored and major issues were presented by interpreting the part suggested by the hypothesis verified by the analysis results. Result: As a result of analyzing the preliminary model and the path model, the appropriate model fit was confirmed, and the significant effect of exogenous variables on endogenous variables was confirmed. Conclusion: It is judged that it can contribute to continuously improving safety performance before safety accidents occur through safety management activities, safety and unsafe behavior management, and management of key elements of safety culture.
