  • Based on the CMBOK (Construction Project Management Body of Knowledge) Framework previously developed in early study by the authors in conjunction with use of some questionnaire surveys and personal interviews with industry professionals, the authors analyze interactions among the entities in the CMBOK framework for the extraction of pivotal entities of construction project management and identify twelve pivotal entities in construction project management, then verify the existence of twelve pivotal entities in real construction project management of construction company and checked the validity of the entities with a real case of interaction phenomenon. This research provides the construction industry with a starting point for improving construction project management efficiency by identifying the pivotal entities.

  • Current construction project processes pose difficulties for construction management as inefficient communication between project participants seldom accurately reflects the needs of the owner. To solve this problem, lean construction-based Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), which facilitates cooperation and builds trust through the formation of horizontal relationships among participants, is becoming increasingly popular. However, although lean construction-based IPD improves productivity in the construction industry, few studies have focused specifically on developing effective methods that maximize the benefits gained from lean construction-based IPD. This study therefore analyzed success factors for lean construction-based IPD projects by analyzing prior studies to identify factors that support IPD success. Application methods were analyzed and an example of how they are actually used in the field was examined through an in-depth single case analysis. The findings of this research can be applied to support lean construction-based IPD projects in Korea, improving their efficiency and boosting owner satisfaction.

  • Risks in construction projects are increasing remarkably due to recent changes in the construction environment. Active risk management is required to recognize risks as opportunities. The purpose of this study is to propose a risk management model of the importance determination method through comparative analysis using Kano model, Timko CSC (Customer Satisfaction Coefficient), and ASC (Average Satisfaction Coefficient). Based on previous studies, the validity of risk management factor determination is reviewed through a questionnaire modified Kano model through interviews with working-level workers using the Delphi technique. Through this, a suitable risk management model is presented by selecting key risk management factors recognized by domestic construction project practitioners. As a result of the study, the Kano model developed to verify risk management of construction projects was evaluated to be effective in verifying the risk management of practitioners. It is expected that the Kano model presented in this study will be actively used to verify the importance of risk management for construction projects.

  • Since the larger and complex construction projects are performed, project performance measurement is highlighting the importance to eliminate inefficiencies and plan to reasonable management practices. So many researchers are conducting research about the project critical sucess factor. But, these factors are mixed both management practices to improve performance and native project characteristics. Therefore performance measurement data couldn't apply to another project successfully. And the project characteristics affect project performance. But contractor couldn't change characteristics. This study provides a project characteristics's definition and classification. This study provides a quantitative level of performance improvement difficulty through out project manager survey. The contractor can estimate a level of performance difficulty through initial project information. With this, project contractor can more efficiently manage project.

  • Currently, The failure of construction project is increasing to be caused by a changing construction environment. According to this circumstances, Researches of project success factors affecting performance have been presented to develop strategies for efficient construction project management in the construction industry. However, Conducting efficient construction project management is difficult because project manager could not know which project success factors can be improved or not. Especially, although the project characteristics were derived the level of difficulty for performance, research of the project characteristics which could not be improved as influence factor to performance is lacking. Therefore, This paper has developed the Performance Predicting System(PPS) with Fuzzy set theory to establish. PPS has been developed to establish efficient project management strategies and to save time and effort. As Contractor inputs the project characteristics, PPS can predict the level of difficulty of performance.

  • This paper presents an analysis of construction project management from supply chain management perspective to gain insight from all constituents and to identify areas of improvement. In order to suggest opportunities for improvement, interviews with the members of a typical urban office building project in US were held. Based on that, a qualitative analysis of construction projects is presented. Focusing on electrical and mechanical sub-systems, this study illustrates the roles of subcontractors, suppliers, distributors, and manufacturing representatives as well as the complexity that a general contractor fares in managing its supply chain. The author$^{\circ}\phi$s recommendations are focused on process restructuring and automation, which include some quantifiable performance measures, incentives, and their alignment with each other

  • Construction industry have been occurred to the various demand of information. Also information quantity is increasing therefore, The role of information systems is important. Recently PMIS, an efficient decision-making support instrument of construction industry, is applied to various projects. However, its utility is still not enough. So this study suggests the concept model on the basis BIM to settle such a problem. Building the Pilot System was based on this study, and present the direction from Advanced PMIS.
