  • An election is a major event in a country that elects the people's representatives. Currently, Korea's electoral system has a structure that limits the exclusion of the minority's opinion. Also, it has strengthened the monopoly of major political parties. Despite the harsh conditions, Green Party Korea has proposed an alternative to prevent even the minority from being excluded by practicing direct democracy and expanding proportional representation through the institutionalization of the democratic process within the party. Election campaigns should thus reflect this orientation of Green Party Korea. The local elections and the national elections reflect Korea's political and social status and show the course over two minority parties beyond such limits. Moreover, they provide evidence of the activities of Green Party Korea. The paper analyzes how the election archives of the party hold the values of democracy, how minor parties jump to another because of the unfavorable election system, and how the archives of Green Party Korea reflect its values on the political history of Korea.

  • Ion exchange resins have been synthesized from chloromethylated styrene-1,4-divinylbenzene (DVB) with 1%, 2%, 5% and 15%-crosslinkage and macrocyclic ligand of $OenNdien-H_4$ by copolymerization. The adsorption characteristics of uranium (${UO_2}^{2+}$), potassium ($K^+$) and neodymium ($Nd^{3+}$) metallic ions have been investigated. The synthesis of these resins was confirmed by content of chlorine, element analysis, and IR-spectrum. The effects of pH, time, and crosslinkage on adsorption of metallic ions were also studied. The uranium ion showed the fast adsorption on the resins above pH 3. The optimum equilibrium time for the adsorption of metallic ions was about two hours. The adsorption selectivity determined in methanol solution was in increasing order uranium (${UO_2}^{2+}$) > potassium ($K^+$) > neodymium ($Nd^{3+}$) ion. Moreover, the adsorption was increased with the crosslinkage concentration in order of 1%, 2%, 5% and 15%-crosslinkage resin.

  • Globally, the importance of utilization and management of marine spatial information is being maximized, and analyzing such data is emerging as a major driving force for R&D. In Korea, it is expected that collecting marine data from the past to the present and extracting its value will play an important role in the development of science in Korea in the future. In particular, marine static data constitutes a huge big database, and it is necessary to store and store the collected data without loss as high data collection costs and high-level observation techniques are required. In addition, the Disaster Safety Intelligence Convergence Center's "Marine Digital Twin Establishment and Utilization-Based Technology Research" task requires collection and analysis of marine data, so this paper conducts a current status survey of static marine data. And we present a series of algorithms that collect and store them in a database.

  • We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a number of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval (S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the SIR machine, machine center-based part type selection rule, and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this paper, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.

  • Azacrown resins were synthesized by mixing 1-aza-12-crown-4 macrocyclic ligand into styrene (2th petroleum in 4th class hazardous materials) divinylbenzene (DVB) copolymer with crosslinkage of 1%, 2%, 5% and 10% by substitution reaction. The synthesis of these resins was confirmed by content of chlorine, element analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), surface area (BET), and IR-spectroscopy. The effects of pH, time, crosslinkage of resins and dielectric constant of solvent on adsorption of metal ions by resin adsorbent were investigated. Metal ions showed a great adsorption over pH 3 and adsorption equilibrium of metal ions was about two hours. In addition, adsorptive selectivity of metals on the resin in ethanol solvent was increased in the order of ${UO_2}^{2+}$ > $Ca^{2+}$ > $Sm^{3+}$ ion and adsorption of uranium ion was decreased with increase of crosslinkage such as 1%, 2%, 5% and 10% and was inversely proportional to the order of dielectric constant of solvents.

  • This study is aimed to analyse the performances and market positions of Korean products at the Central and South America where recently come into the spotlight for the emerging markets with FTA. The main problems were not the communication or geographical distance but the faint Central and South American specific support of the government and indifferent market approaching concepts. New cultural merchandising approach, Korean enterprise can maintain the competitive advantage against with chinese low products which is main opponent in this market. In order to achieve the close cultural approach, Korean enterprise should use the 'elite groups' in the Central and South america whom are multi cultural leaders in there and also needs to use the Korean CQO merchandisers in the Central and South America. And the new FTA with rest of countries in the Central and South America more aggressively will be the inmost objet of maintaining competitive advantage and we could change the concept of the this market from 'big indifferent market' to 'strategic market' as a hopeful market for achieve the diversification of export.

  • On 15th November 2017, the coastal city of Pohang, located in the Southeastern part of South Korea was shaken by a magnitude 5.4 earthquake. The earthquake displaced more than 1,700 residents and caused more than $ 300 million dollars of economic loss. It was the second most damaging earthquake in the history of Korea. Soon after the earthquake, a group of scientists raised a possible link between the first Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) project and the earthquake. At the same time, another group of scientists put forward a different hypothesis of the causation of the earthquake claiming that it was caused by the geological movements that were initiated by the Great Tohoku Earthquake in 2011. Since then, there were scientific debates between the two different groups of scientists. The scientific debate on the causation of the earthquake has been concluded temporarily by the Research Investigatory Committee on the Pohang Earthquake in 2019. The research committee concluded that the earthquake was caused by the Pohang EGS system: this means that the earthquake can be defined not as a natural earthquake, but as an artificially triggered earthquake. This article is to examine the Pohang earthquake can be defined as an Anthropocenic event. The newly suggested concept, the Anthropocene is a relatively novel term to classify the earthly strata and their relationship to geological time. The current geological period should be defined by human activities and man-made earthly environment. Although the term is basically related to geological classification, the Anthropocene has been widely debated amongst humanist and social science scholars. The current disastrous situation of our planet also implies with the Anthropocene. This paper is to discuss how to understand anthropogenic events. In particular, the paper pays attention to two different scholarly positions on the Anthropocene: Isabelle Stenger's Gaia theory and Barbara Herrnstein Smith's relativist theory. The former focuses on the earthly inevitable catastrophe of Anthropocene while the latter suggests to situate and contextualise anthropogenic events. On the basis of the theoretical positions, the article is to analyse how the Pohang earthquake can be located and situated.

  • This paper aims to analyze the rise and decline of Seattle Community Network(briefly SCN), an electronic community network based upon Seattle, U.S. from the perspective of 'social shaping of technology' theory rather than that of technological determinism That is, this paper focuses on the social processes of the evolution of SCN. And this paper considers SCN as one important element of the 'network society', a concept manufactured by Manuel Castells. SCN was built successfully over 10 years ago by some progressive local activists and volunteers. The main purpose of building SCN at that time was said to make local community stronger with the help of advanced information technology. This can be understood that the founders of SCN tried to shape the direction of network society development based on civil society's values including public access and commitment to democracy rather than those of private companies. After some years of successful working, however, SCN started to decline. The expansion of internet services and the booming of dot.com companies in the late 90's were the main factors that made SCN decline. In conclusion, it can be said that the socia-economic factors rather than technological factors gave birth to the rise and decline of SCN.
