With the rapid progress toward a new cataloging model, the revision of Korean Cataloging Rules (KCR) are under discussion. The purpose of this study is to make a suggestion on constructing authorized access points for multilingual works, especially focused on the language and script of authorized access points. To the end, this study investigates (1) the extended functions and meanings of access points on the new model, (2) related guidelines and regulations reflected in International Cataloging Principles and typical cataloging rules, and (3) the characteristics of access points in the current Korean cataloging practices. Finally, (4) desirable languages and scripts of authorized access points representing multilingual works are suggested.
Labrid fishes, Cheilio inermis and Labroides dimidiatus were collected around Cheju Island, between April-August, 1993, and described herewith as new to the Korean fish fauna. Labroides dimidiatus was originally described as Cossyphus dimidiatus by Cuvier and Valenciennes(1839), then reclassified as genus Labroides by Randall(1958). Underwater observations of Labroides dimidiatus have revealed the unusual food habit of removing ectoparasites from other fishes. Cheilio inermis was originally described by Forssk${\aa}$l(1775). It is distinguished from the other labrid fishes by the continuous lateral lines and elongated body form.
In order to develop transgenic potato plants with enhanced tolerance to multiple stress, we constructed the transformation vector expressing both superoxide dismutase and ascorbate peroxidase genes in chloroplasts under the control of a stress-inducible SWPA2 promoter. Transgenic potato plants (cv. Superior and Atlantic) were generated using an Agrobacterium-mediated transformation system. Transgenic potato plants were regenerated on MS medium containing 100mg/L kanamycin. Genomic Southern blot analysis confirmed the incorporation of foreign genes into the potato genome. When potato leaf discs were subjected to methyl viologen (MV) at 10 $\mu$M, transgenic plants showed higher tolerance than non-transgenic or vector-transformed plants. To further study we selected the transgenic plant lines with enhanced tolerance against MV. These plants will be used for further analysis of stress-tolerance to multiple environmental stresses.

We suggested definition and classification scheme of uninhabited islands in Taeanhaean National Park for efficient management. Islands (seom) and reefs (yeo) were classified based on approximate HHW. Uninhabited islands were categorized into vegetated islands and rocky islands depending on presence of woody vegetation cover for physical geographic and ecological value and importance. Reefs were also divided into an underwater reef and a reef which covers and uncovers based on approximate LLW. We excluded those areas which are not separated from main land by waterbody even though it is in approx. HHW from islands. We considered several divided areas which adjoin geographically and ecologically one another under the condition of approx. LLW as an island. By using above schemes, we categorized 50 uninhabited islands in Taeanhaean National Park into three groups; 24 vegetated islands, 14 rocky islands, and 12 reefs. If the public institutions adopt these schemes as national standards, it will be useful in managing uninhabited islands nationwide.
Water spider(Argyroneta aquatica Clerck) is only spider that live under aquatic water. In korea, water spider distributed only in Undari Wetland, Yeochon County, Kyongii Proviance, where it is designated as Natural Monument. I counted the population density, analysed the ecological traits such as actual vegetation map, and suggested conservation strategy and eco-tourism planning for water spider. The population mean density of water spider was one individual/$m^2$ and 8,000 individuals/ha. The wetland inhabited by water spider was characterized by high water level fluctuation between rainy season and dry ones. Wetland plant community was dominated by Phragmites australis and Leersia oryzoides var. japonica with submersed plant, Utricularia japonica. It is need to supply water for inhibiting terrestial succession trend during the dry season and to connect three fragmented wetlands through ecological corridor. Also, It was suggested that ecotourism planning is important for conserving this wetland.

To reduce the effects of the uncertainties due to the modeling error and aerodynamic coefficients, a nonlinear adaptive control system based on neural networks is proposed . Neural networks parameters are adjusted by using an adaptive law. The sliding mode control scheme is used to compensate for the effect of the approximation error of neural networks. Control parameters and neural networks structures are optimized to obtain better performance by using the genetic algorithm. By introducing the concept of multi-groups of populations, the genetic algorithm is modified so that individuals and groups can be simultaneously evolved . To verify the performance of the pro posed algorithm, the optimized neural networks control system is applied to an aircraft longitudinal dynamics.
In vitro-tested ribozyme against synthesized cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) RNA (Agric. Chem. & Biotech. 37:56-63(1994)) was expressed in tobacco plant to develop virus resistant plants. The ribozyme sequence was linked to cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter and nopaline synthase(nos) terminator and this chimeric 35S-ribozyme-nos gene was sequenced. The sequenced chimeric gene was transferred to Agrobacterium tumefaciens LBA4404 using tri-parental mating system. The E. coli HB101 containing chimeric gene was incubated with E. coli HB101(pRK2073) as a helper and Agrobacterium tumefaciens LBA4404. Then Agrobacterium cells containing the ribozyme construct was cocultivated with tobacco leaf pieces. Ten different plants were regenerated from kanamycin containing MS medium. The presence of the ribozyme construct in the transgenic tobacco plants was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Seven different transgenic plants in ten different kanamycin resistant plants showed the expected size (570 base pairs) of 35S-ribozyme-nos gene fragment. Total RNAs were isolated from four different transgenic plants and separated on a 1% agarose gel containing formamide. Northern hybridization with 35S-ribozyme-nos gene fragment as a probe indicated that ribozyme transcripts may be degraded tv nuclease. Therefore, nuclease-resistant ribozymes are needed for the development of virus-resistant transgenic plants using ribozymes.

Records on Japanese "Comfort Women" have been individually managed by private sectors or institutions, and some are provided as digital archives on the Internet. However, records of digital archives differ in the composition and representation of metadata by individual institutions. Meanwhile, there is a lack of a consistent structure to describe the relationships between and among these records, leading to their fragmentation and disconnectedness. This paper proposes a knowledge model for interlinking the digital archival resources and builds a knowledge graph by integrating the records from distributed digital archives. It derives common elements by analyzing metadata from the diverse digital archives and expresses them in standard vocabularies to semantically describe multiple entities and relationships of the digital archival resources. In particular, the study includes the refinement of collected data to search and thread dispersed records and the enrichment of external data to provide significant contextual information of records. An evaluation of the knowledge graph is performed via a query measuring the (dis)connectivity between the distributed records. As a result, the knowledge graph is capable of interlinking and retrieving fragmented records, providing substantial contextual information on the records with external data enrichment, and searching accurately to match the user's intentions through semantic-based queries.
The objectives of the study were to evaluate fish compositions, endangered species, community structure, physical habitat, and general water quality for a preliminary environmental impact assessment of Jeokbyeok River on the road construction between two regions. Total number of species and total number of individuals, based on CPUE, were 23 and 1186, respectively. The endangered species (I, II) as the legal protection species were Pseudopungtungia nigra (79 samples) Gobiobotia brevibarba) (5) Gobiobotia macrocephala (2), indicating a requiring of endangered species conservation. In the meantime, exotic species and ecological disturbing species such as Micropterus salmoides and Lepomis macrochirus, were not present, indicating a well conserved area. According to fish community analysis, values of species diversity index were high (range: 0.788 - 1.030), and the dominance index were low (range: 0.097 - 0.183), indicating that the fish community in this area was maintained well without high dominacne by specific species. Also, fish analysis on tolerance guilds and trophic guilds showed that the proportions of sensitive species were largely exceeded the proportions of the tolerant species, while the proportions of insectivore species were largely exceeded the proportions of the omnivore species. This outcome suggests that the ecosystem was well maintained in terms of tolerance and trophic compositions (food chain). Ecological health, based on the multi-metric fish model of Fish Assessment Integrity (FAI), reflected those fish conditions. In other words, values of FAI model averaged 82.4, which means a "good condition" in the criteria of ecological health by the Minstry of Environment, Korea. In addition, general water quality and physical habitat analyses showed that the system was in good condition. Under these conditions, if the road constructions between the two regions happen in the future, inorganic suspended solids may increase in the waterbody, and this may result in indirect or direct influences on the physical habitats and food chain as well as fish compositions, so the ecological protections and prevention strategy from the soil erosion are required in the system.

World is experiencing abnormal weather caused by urbanization and industrialization increasing greenhouse gas and one of these phenomenon domestically happening is flood and drought. The increase of green-house gases is due to urbanization and industrialization acceleration which are causing abnormal climate changes such as the El Nino and a La Nina phenomenon. It is expected that there will be many difficulties in water management, especially considering the topography and seasonal circumstances in Korea. Unlike in the past, a variety of water conservation initiatives have been undertaken like the river-management flow and water capacity expansion projects. To meet the increasing demand for water resources, new environmentally-friendly small and medium-sized dams have been built. Therefore, the development of a new paradigm for water resources management is essential. This study shows that additional security is needed for potential water resources through diversion tunnels and is very important to consider for future water supplies and situations. Using RCP 6.0 and RCP 8.5 in representative concentration pathway climate change scenario, specific hydrologic data of study basin was produced to analyze past observed basin rainfall tendency which showed both scenario 5%~9% range increase in rainfall. Through sensitivity analysis using objective function, population in highest goodness was 1000 and cross rate was 80%. In conclusion, it is expected that the results from this study will help to make long-term and stable water supply plans by using the potential water resource evaluation model which was applied in this study.
