A Study on the Improvement of Pedestrian Environment for the Mobility Handicapped on the Use of Personal Mobility Vehicle (개인형 이동수단의 이용에 따른 교통약자의 보행환경 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, personal mobility has been spreading and using increasing, but the pedestrian environment is getting worse and accidents are also rapidly increasing. Therefore, this study conducts a status survey related to the elements of pedestrian disturbances in personal mobility and identifies the problems. The following measures are presented to improve the pedestrian environment for the mobility handicapped through expert opinion surveys. The movement of individual mobility means in the walking space is prohibited, and the speed limit shall be stipulated to enable the mobility handicapped to walk safely and conveniently. Parking spaces will have to create obstacle zones in the parking area next to the roadway or at the border of sidewalks and roads, and regulations are needed to collect illegally parked vehicles. It is necessary to switch from the existing automobile-oriented road to the road structure considering the use of low and medium-speed vehicles.

  • 우리는 본 연구를 통해 최근 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 개인형 이동수단인 킥보드, 전기 자전거 등을 이용하는 사용자가 편리하고 안전한 주행을 할 수 있도록 AR 기술을 통해 길안내 서비스를 제공하는 방법 및 관련 기술, 그리고 IoT 기반으로 사용자가 착용한 웨어러블 기기와의 연동을 통해 주행 중 사고위험을 미리 인지할 수 있는 기술도 제안하였다. 우리가 제안한 기술과 서비스를 통해 최근 사회적 이슈가 되고 있는 개인형 이동수단으로 인한 안전사고 예방에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대해본다

  • A recent spread of personal mobility devices such as electric kickboards has brought about a rapid increase in accident cases. Such vehicles are susceptible to falling accidents due to their low dynamic stability and lack of outer protection chassis. This paper presents the development of an automatic emergency braking system and a safe starting system as driving assistance devices for electric kickboards. The braking system employed artificial intelligence to detect nearby threaening objects. The starting system was developed to disable powder to the motor until when the driver's boarding is confirmed. This study is meaningful in that it proposes the convergence technology of advanced driver assistance systems specialized for personal mobility devices.

  • 최근 전동 킥보드, 전동휠, 전기 자전거 등 개인형 이동수단(Personal Mobility)의 보급이 늘면서 관련 인명 교통사고가 급증하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개인형 이동수단의 사용위험 및 사고 감소를 목적으로, 딥러닝 객체탐지 기술을 적용하여 다양한 위험요소를 증강현실 기술을 기반으로 한 HMD(Helmet mounted display)에 표시하는 '딥러닝 객체 인식과 증강현실을 적용한 개인 이동장치를 위한 HMD(Helmet Mounted Display) 어플리케이션'을 설계한다. 제시하는 방법은 실시간으로 수집된 전방의 실시간 영상 정보를 객체 탐지 알고리즘을 통해 위험요소 및 안전한 주행을 보조하는 객체를 감지하고 증강현실을 적용해 사용자에게 적절한 운전 보조장치 및 기능을 제공한다.

  • In the transportation sector, reducing total vehicle mileage and passenger vehicle traffic are proposed as strategies to achieve carbon neutrality. To achieve this, MaaS services must be actively promoted with the goal of revitalizing public transportation. In order to promote MaaS, individual movement data is required, such as the individual's means of movement, route, and conversion of the individual's means of use. However, in Korea, there are legal limitations in collecting and utilizing data on individual movements. As the right to request transmission of personal information was newly established in the revised Personal Information Protection Act in 2023, a law was established to collect and utilize data on individual movements. However, enforcement ordinance, detailed rules, instructions, guidelines must be prepared, and the standardization of data format and transmission system for collecting my data needs to take precedence.

  • In response to the growing global concern for the environment, the international community has recently committed to achieving 'carbon neutrality.' As a result, numerous studies have been conducted on mode choice models that include carbon emissions as a variable. However, few studies have established a correlation between individual preferences and carbon emissions. In this study, a new mode of transportation named sustainable public transit (SPT), incorporating carbon-reducing transport options like electric scooters, is proposed. Analyzing the individual preferences of commuters on carbon emissions through factor analysis, a stated preference (SP) survey was conducted. A mode choice model for SPT was constructed using multinomial logit models. The results of the analysis showed that gender, income, and specific preferences, such as a passion for exploring new routes, a preference for intermodal transfers, knowledge of carbon reduction, and carbon reduction practices, significantly influence latent preferences for SPT. Therefore, this study is significant as it considers carbon emissions as an attribute variable during the construction of mode choice models and reflects the individual preference variables associated with carbon reduction.

  • At present, many countries around the world, as well as Korea, have faced serious social problems due to increased traffic congestion resulting in the social loss. As a result, there is an increasing demand for new transportation which is not exist. This is why many companies around the world are trying to solve this problem with transportation innovation through On Demand Mobility(ODM) which uses Personal Air Vehicle(PAV) that is operated on demand by customer rather than scheduled transportation. This study analyzed the current research trends of the On Demand Mobility projects of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), UBER, and AIRBUS. Also, this study presents the benefit of adopting this On Demand Mobility systems into Korea. Three commuting routes were set up in the metropolitan area in Korea, and the benefit of using the On Demand Mobility method was compared with the current public transportation and private car.

A Comparative Study on the Perceptions towards Personal Mobility Vehicle between Adults and Minors (개인형 이동수단에 관한 법·제도 개선방안 연구: 연령별 차이를 중심으로)

  • Recently, there has been an increase of accidents related to the rise in the use of Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV). To solve this problem, the National Assembly announced an amendment that restricted the use of PMV to bicycle roads and to prohibited for people under 13 years old to use PMV, but there is no detailed information about travel speed and safety. In this study, a survey was conducted by dividing the group into minors and adults based on the age of obtaining a driver's license to find out the direction of improvement of laws and systems about PMV. Our results showed that adults considered PMV as more dangerous (Adults 5.50, Minors 4.94) and the suggested age for PMV use was lower from minors than adults (Adults 15.70, Minors 13.85). We found that proper travel speed on bicycle roads differed according to the presence of a driveway (Driveway 26.21 km/h, Non-Driveway 23.55 km/h) and minors had higher a travel speed than adults on all types of bicycle road. Also, Helmets for PMV were seen as the most important safety equipment on all types of bicycle road. and the importance of other safety equipment differed according to the presence of a driveway (Driveway Front-Lighting, Non-Driveway Car Horn). Through this study, It proposes that we have to make new regulations about the use of front lights and horns, as well as enforcement measures that differentiate the speed on each bicycle road type as a way to improve the laws and systems for PMV.

  • 외발자전거는 서커스 곡예의 소재로 사용될 정도로 일반인이 타기 어렵다. 하지만, 구조가 단순하고 부피가 작고 가벼워 개인용 이동 수단으로 장점이 많다. 바퀴가 하나이므로 자유도가 높아서 좁거나 곡선반지름이 작은 길에서도 유리하다. 최근 전기자전거뿐만 아니라 전동보드, 전동휠 등 다양한 형태의 전력 구동형 개인 이동 수단들이 많이 등장하고 이용되고 있는데 스스로 균형을 유지하여 안전하고 쉽게 탈 수 있는 외발 전동차를 개발을 위해 인공지능 강화학습을 적용한 자동제어장치를 시뮬레이션을 통해 구현하고자 한다.
