  • This study purports to empirically examine the potential effect of the level of social trust on their welfare consciousness level. Although previous studies in the field have focused on socio-economic or class-oriented variables, the accumulated results have shown that the effects were inconsistent at best in Korean context. In order to overcome the limits of theoretical assumptions from mainstream Marxists and institutionalists, this study suggests the relative autonomy of social consciousness and its independent effect on welfare consciousness. The analysis shows that both foundational variables, income levels and labor market participation, and the level of social trust have significant impacts upon the respondents' level of welfare consciousness.

  • This study, based on flow theory and unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), examines various factors that influence the continuous use of mobile applications, particularly those providing users with satisfaction and pleasure as well as useful information. This study extends the previous studies that have been based on technology acceptance model, in which usefulness and ease of use are key determinants of use of new technology, by introducing flow theory in explaining the use of various technologies in mobile environment. For this purpose, this study employes a survey based field study and collects data from individuals who use fashion mobile apps since these are considered to provide fun and pleasures. This study finds that flow theory is a proper framework to understand the use of mobile technology, indicating flow experience is an important variable to determine the usage of fashion apps. In addition, performance expectation, effort expectation, social influence, and facilitation condition are found to be significant in influencing use of mobile apps, suggesting UTAUT still plays an important role in understanding the use of mobile technology.

  • This study has two objectives. First, this study examines subjective well-being among elders that operationalize life satisfaction and aging anxiety, guided by life-course perspective. Second, it examines the relationship between subjective well-being and age-friendly environment factor structure among age-cohort groups. This study employs the stratified sampling method from 4,000 Seoul citizens. Main findings from the multivariate regression analyses include: (1) as age increases, aging anxiety levels appeared to be higher, while decreasing the life satisfaction. (2) a substantially larger variance of life satisfaction and aging anxiety was accounted for by demographic variables and age-friendly environments across age-cohort groups. (3) the influence of age-friendly environment factors such as neighborhood problems, accessibility to social activities, social services and parks on subjective well-being was different across age-cohort groups. This study discusses the policy and practical implications of the results.

  • This study aims to investigate the influence of person-organization(P-O) fit on job satisfaction, and turnover intent mediated through goal commitment using structural equation modeling. An experimental design is applied to test seven hypotheses that reflect the research questions. Five star deluxe hotel employees are targeted for sampling. A total of 180 faithful cases out of 250 cases have been analyzed. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling(SEM) are employed using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 4. The results indicate the hotel employees' perceived P-O fit is positively associated with goal commitment and job satisfaction while negatively linked with turnover intent. Also, goal commitment has a positive effect on job satisfaction while having a negative effect on turnover intent, mediating between P-O fit and organizational outcomes. Therefore, the needs to evaluate P-O fit and goal commitment during recruitment and after organizational entry have been raised.

  • This study examined the factors affecting the intention to use the wearable device consumers and the factors that have positive effects on the intention to use the wearable device or the consumers who have not yet used the wearable device. The purpose of this study was to examine the perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness, consumer individuality (individual innovation, self-efficacy, subjective norm) and wearable device characteristics (aesthetics, compatibility) of technology acceptance model (TAM). The results of the analysis are as follows. This study focused on the effect of consumers on the intention to use. (TPB) and Davis (1989) proposed technology acceptance model which is applied to various fields to predict the intention to use as it is proved validity and usefulness as a theory explaining various social behaviors. TAM) in order to examine the intention to use. In addition, we added consumer characteristics and variables related to product characteristics of wearable devices, which have not been studied much in previous studies.

  • This research aims to examine whether depression has mediating effects in the effects of socioeconomic deprivation, especially of lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation on life satisfaction of the elderly. For this purpose, the 12th year(2017) data of the Korea Welfare Panel Study were used. The mediated effect analysis method of Baron and Kenny(1986) were used, and mediating effect of depression was validated through Sobel Test. The results of this research are as follows. Firstly, the lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation of the elderly -deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment, and deprivation of healthcare- had partial mediating effects of depression in life satisfaction. It was verified that as the elderly experienced deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment and deprivation of healthcare, depression increased and life satisfaction was lowered. Therefore, it was suggested that to enhance the living satisfactions of the elderly, policies and services reflecting the personal characteristics of socioeconomic deprivation and depression must be made, and that criteria to identify the multidimensional poverty and deprivation experienced in everyday life must be prepared in addition to poverty focusing on income.

  • Social Network Service is one of platforms rapidly growing in the environment of digital convergence. Most of researches regarding social network service(SNS) done up to the present time are concerning about technic and effectiveness characteristics of SNS. However, this study focuses on the roll of self-disclosure in the use of social network services(SNS). From the perspectives of personal and social motivation rather than the effectiveness and technic characteristics of SNS. the relations among self-disclosure, enjoyment, social ties and intention to use have been tested empirically. The results from this study shows that self-disclosure has not directly effects on the intention to use of SNS, but indirectly effects on it through personal enjoyment and desire to have social ties.

  • With the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT), diverse work policies, such as, telework, telecommuting, flexible work had been conceptualized and implemented to encourage efficient business practices and worker satisfaction. These work policies are the forerunners of newly emerging concept of "Smart Work." However, as smart work is a new concept, no single agreeable definition can be found. In this study, the relevant literatures published in past 15 years are reviewed systematically in order to derive a conceptual framework for "Smart Work," from related research, such as telecommuting, flexible time, telework, etc. Related variables are grouped into five clusters: Task, Technology, People, Organization Structure and Managerial Levers, forming a policy and research framework. Further research are suggested after the discussion of implications.
