  • The job satisfaction of records managers is of importance because it affects their work performance and retention. The purpose of this study is to investigate records managers' job satisfaction and to identify factors affecting records manager's job satisfaction to find the way to improve their job satisfaction. Specific questions of the study are as follows: 1) What is the job satisfaction of records managers? 2) Are factors affecting job satisfaction different depending on record managers' personal characteristics? 3) What are the most influential factors on job satisfaction? To do that, questionnaires were used to gather data from 60 domestic records managers working in different types of records centers. Data analyses included descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, and multiple-regression analysis. Additionally, interviews with 2 record managers were conducted to collect opinions on factors affecting job dissatisfaction and recommendations for improving their job satisfaction. Important findings of the study are as follows: First, the respondents are moderately satisfied with their jobs (3.2 out of 5 points). The level of job satisfaction is different depending on years of career, years of employment, number of personnel the respondent is working with in the records center, and etc. The number of personnel the respondent is working with was found to be the most influential factor. Second, multiple-regression analysis result shows that motivation factors(satisfaction factors) are more influential than hygiene factors (dissatisfaction factors) on the respondents' job satisfaction, which confirms Herzberg's two factor theory. More specifically, 'work ethic,' one of motivator factors, has the greatest influence, followed by 'procedural impartiality', 'communication', 'job characteristic', 'distributive justice', and 'working conditions.' Based on the results, this study suggests several ways to improve record managers' job satisfaction level. First, the awareness of records management should be increased. The respondents indicated that their job dissatisfaction is usually derived from a lack of the awareness of records management. Therefore, every chief of organizations, National Archives of Korea, and records managers themselves should try to raise the awareness of records management. Especially, records managers should make stronger efforts to attract the office's attention. Second, records managers ought to establish their identity as records management profession. Also, they should participate in various activities of the archival community to overcome the limitation of individuals.

Data was collected from October 5th to 18th, 2016 and was analyzed through t-test, ANOVA, Bonferroni post-test, and multiple regressions using SPSS 21.0. Participation motivation was high in 'expertise capability improvement and development' and low in personal gain and job stability. Job training need was the highest in nosocomial infection management and CPR and was the lowest in hospice and rehabilitation nursing. Participation motivation had significant differences depending on age, marital status, educational level, and clinical experience, and was influenced by the job training need of professional nursing and medical knowledge for disease treatment. Therefore, it is necessary to plan medical educational programs to enhance job training effectiveness, establish a strategy to increase participation motivation; and expand various job training support.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly changing the behavior of members of society. Typically, the strong contagious power of the virus minimizes interaction between people in the real world, and they keep interaction activities to a minimum through online activities. Recently, as people demand online activities that enhance a sense of reality, the metaverse, which strengthens the 3D technology-centered sense of presence capability, is being chosen by people. The purpose of this study is to suggest a strategic direction for the establishment of the metaverse business model of startups by presenting factors for users' use and gratification of the metaverse. In detail, this study proposes the motivation for using the metaverse by reflecting the uses and gratification theory, and suggests a method to strengthen the motivation for the metaverse by reflecting the presences provided by the metaverse plotform and individual characteristics (normtive interpersonal influence). We surveyed people over 20 years of age who experienced metaverse and obtained 314 samples. In addition, we conducted the main effect analysis using the structural equation model and the moderating effect analysis using Process 3.1. As a result of hypothesis testing, we confirmed that metaverse presence (telepresence, social presence) has a positive effect on intention to continuous use by increasing metaverse's use and satisfaction factors (information, enjoyment, social interactivity). In addition, we found that individuals' normative interpersonal influence moderated the positive relationship between uses and gratification factors(enjoyment and social interactivity) intention to continuous use. Our study suggests strategies for establishing a user-centered business model for companies related to the metaverse.

  • Creativity is an essential ability for a successful design task, mainly because design is an activity creating something new. As the sphere of design has expanded and become complex, the design task goes beyond an individual designer's capability. Therefore, it is necessary to organize a design team consisting of various team members with diverse expertises. The aim of this study is to find out the impact of fundamental attributes of members on the group creativity in order to establish a guideline for building a creative design team. Heterogeneous teams and homeogenous teams were created according to three main factors of group creativity namely, personality, field and experience. The group creativity of each team were evaluated through protocol analysis of design activities as well as the comparison of problem solving processes and outputs. It was identified that the impact of design teams on the group creativity was distinctively different in four phases of the design process (preparation, divergence, convergence, and execution) regarding creativity properties such as fluency, elaboration, originality, usefulness. Based on these findings, a schematic model for building a design team in order to enhance the group creativity by composing the most appropriate team members for each phases of the design process was developed.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions of elementary pre-service teachers regarding their interest in science. A survey was conducted among 187 elementary pre-service teachers enrolled at Non-Metropolitan Area A University of Education. Data collection was carried out concurrently with three elementary pre-service teachers who agreed to participate in online interviews. The survey responses provided by the elementary pre-service teachers were analyzed using a qualitative text analysis method. Interest in science was observed to decrease during middle school, followed by the upper grades of elementary school and then the lower grades. The reasons for the decline in interest in science were interpreted as stemming from negative experiences with science education within the context of individual circumstances in the school setting. Strategies to address the decline and enhance interest in science were discussed across individual, family, school, teacher, local community, and national levels, considering both short-term and long-term perspectives. These strategies encompassed various inquiry activities and experiences related to the field of science, engagement in science-related activities, student-centered instruction, teacher professional development, support for elementary students and teachers, and policy measures. The multifaceted approach and efforts aimed to open avenues for positive feedback regarding science on an individual level and foster experiences related to science were interpreted as part of an effort to counteract the decline in interest in science. Lastly, given the current situation of declining interest in science and the need to enhance students' interest, it was implicitly and explicitly discussed that pre-service teachers should focus on improving their expertise in curriculum instruction. This research, by exploring the conceptual characteristics of interest in science, perceptions of changes, and educational needs related to interest in science among elementary pre-service teachers, is expected to have academic significance as foundational research data for the current status of declining interest in science.

This study was implemented to amass and analyze the data from 160 Daejeon district's lifelong educators using SPSS 20.0. The statistical analysis was conducted with the following measures: frequency analysis for demographic characteristics, descriptive analysis, factor analysis with Varimax rotation for the validity of the measured variables, Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the reliability of the internal consistency between the variables, and Pearson's correlation coefficient to confirm the relevance between the variables. Our hypothesis was then verified through regression analysis. Our research results showed that, first, the level of empowerment differed depending on such factors as gender, age, education level, employee type, work hours, and monthly income. Second, empowerment was shown to have a significant influence on job satisfaction, where higher empowerment levels led to higher job satisfaction. Third, empowerment was a significant factor in increasing organizational commitment, as higher empowerment levels led to higher commitment. Therefore, this study reflected on the concept that empowerment was needed by lifelong educators, thus showing that enhancing job satisfaction and organizational commitment by developing the personal abilities of a lifelong institution educator is favorable to the institution's development and success.
