An Investigation Into the Effects of AI-Based Chemistry I Class Using Classification Models (분류 모델을 활용한 AI 기반 화학 I 수업의 효과에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a Chemistry I class based on an artificial intelligence (AI) classification model. To achieve this, the research investigated the development and application of a class utilizing an AI classification model in Chemistry I classes conducted at D High School in Gyeongbuk during the first semester of 2023. After selecting the curriculum content and AI tools, and determining the curriculum-AI integration education model as well as AI hardware and software, we developed detailed activities for the program and applied them in actual classes. Following the implementation of the classes, it was confirmed that students' self-efficacy improved in three aspects: chemistry concept formation, AI value perception, and AI-based maker competency. Specifically, the chemistry classes based on text and image classification models had a positive impact on students' self-efficacy for chemistry concept formation, enhanced students' perception of AI value and interest, and contributed to improving students' AI and physical computing abilities. These results demonstrate the positive impact of the Chemistry I class based on an AI classification model on students, providing evidence of its utility in educational settings.

The Effect of Regional Differential Electricity Rate System using LMP (Locational Marginal Price) (LMP(Locational Marginal Price) 방식에 의한 지역별 차등 전기요금 제도의 효율성 분석)

  • The introduction of a regional differential electricity rate system is being discussed, and the LMP (Locational Marginal Price) method is mentioned as a promising alternative. Under this background, this study analyzed a mathematical model and suggests that the LMP method produces results that maximize social welfare. The analysis was conducted separately for long-term decision-making where transmission capacity can be expanded, and for short-term decision-making in which transmission capacity is given. The analysis for short-term decision-making was conducted for peak load situations where capacity is insufficient and for non-load situations with spare capacity. The results of the analysis suggested that the price to maximize social welfare is equal to the marginal power generation cost by region, and the difference in marginal cost by region reflects the value lost due to transmission loss and compensation for transmission network investment. In addition, if the transmission capacity is less than the optimal capacity, the compensation for transmission network investment exceeds the incremental cost, providing an incentive to invest in the transmission network. If the transmission capacity exceeds the optimal capacity, the compensation for transmission network investment becomes lower than incremental cost or zero and the investment is not recovered, suppressing the investment in transmission networks. The results are the same as the LMP method suggests, and this means that this method maximizes social welfare and provides an optimal transmission network investment signal. The above analysis results contribute to understanding the characteristics of LMP. In addition, this study discussed what changes are needed in the electricity market when introducing the LMP concept.

Bearing Capacity Analyses of Shallow Foundations in Reinforced Slopes

  • Recently, foundations of heavy structures such as bridge abutments have been built on slopes or near the crest of slopes at an increasing rate. Because the bearing capacity of such foundations is considerably lower than the bearing capacity of the same soil on a level ground, deep footings such as piles and caissons are often used. However, the costs of such methods are generally very high. One of the new techniques to overcome the problem is to place reinforcing members such as geosynthetics or metal strips horizontally at some depths beneath the footings. Rational methods of analysis to predict the bearing capacity of footings in reinforced slopes are therefore needed. This paper proposes an analytical method for estimating the increase in bearing capacity gained from the included horizontal strips or ties of tensile reinforcing in the foundation soil below the footing built near the crest of a slope. A failure mechanism, including the concept of'wide slab effect', adopted in the present study for analyzing the bearing capacity of foundations in reinforced slopes, is established through the observed model test behaviors described by Binquet SE Lee and Huang et al, and the Boussinesq solutions. The analytical results are then compared with the experimental data described in the paper by Huang et al. Also in order to properly evaluate the soil reinforcement interaction, typical pullout test values of the apparent friction coefficient, which usually vary with depths owing to both the increase of the shearing volume and the increase in local stress caused by soil dilatancy, are analyzed and related functionally. Furthermore, analytical parametric studies are carried out to investigate the effect and significance of various pertinent parameters associated with design of reinforced slope foundations.   • As current business environment is experiencing radical changes, interest in brands has increased theoretically and practically. The growing interest in brands creates the need for brand equity measurement and management models that help companies manage and fortify brands continuously. Given the situation, this study analyzes effects of brand equity on purchasing behavior of consumers. Outcomes of this study can be employed as integrated brand management system in order to satisfy corporate needs for systematic brand management. This model has been developed in an effort to transcend varied limitations of other previous studies and existing models. Consequently, the practical value of this model is highly expected. Beyond the mere concept of brand for establishing differentiated position against competitors, contents of the study cover extended forms of brand equity and brand performance. This model has been tested through practical applications of fifteen brands from three product categories. Despite several disparities among the categories, the study has revealed that the overall market performance of the brands is correlated with the brand power and other factors in the model. As the importance of brands is growing, brand management is an essential step for power branding. And brand management requires extensive brand diagnosis. The practical results of this study indicate that companies should put an emphasis on brand-oriented management as core strategy of their business.

Relationship between Pedestrian Network and Pedestrian Volume Using Connectivity (연결도를 이용한 보행네트워크와 보행통행량의 상호관련성 연구)

  • It is important to know pedestrian volume to carry out pedestrian safety analysis and pedestrian friendly design. However, it is too difficult to come across research work related to pedestrian volume analysis in the field of transport, due to lack of interests on pedestrian movement. Most transport research has been focused on vehicles and highways rather than pedestrian. On the other hand, in the field of urban studies, there comes an effective tool to estimate pedestrian volumes using Space Syntax theory. This theory twins out to be effective and economic because it only requires network information, which is easy to acquire from maps and field survey. However, this method is different in the way representing networks from the way that is common in the field of transport. To make up for this point, this paper develops a novel measure for estimating pedestrian volume using Dial's algorithm, and applies the model in the two test networks; Insadong and Soongryemoon networks. The application results reveals that developed measure is an effective tool to explain pedestrian volume; a correlation coefficient between the measure and pedestrian volume is 0.713 in Insadong and 0.492 in Soongryemoon, and the goodness of fit($R^2$) of regression models are 0.893 in Insadong and 0.671 in Soongryemoon. This estimation method is significantly less complicated to estimate the effect of a pedestrian network change than Space Syntax theory, which requires special softwares not readily available.

A Study of the Effects of Job-seeking Efficacy on Use Intention and Outcome of the Work-net (구직효능감(job-seeking efficacy)으로 인 한 Work-net의 이용의도 및 성과에 관한 연구)

  • The present study examines the the role of subjectively perceived factors of the attitude toward job-seeking activities in forming an intention to use a web. An integrative research model is presented and tested empirically. It includes the following two aspects of belief in Davis' TAM: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use. Specially, internet job-seeking efficacy, or the belief in one's capabilities to organize and execute courses of Internet actions required to achieve given goals, is a potentially important factor in efforts to gain more favorable attitude toward Internet uses. Survey data were collected to develop a reliable operational measure of Internet job-seeking efficacy and to examine its construct validity. An four-item Internet job-seeking efficacy scale developed for the present study was found to be reliable and internally consistent. Also, many previous studies have established that perceived usefulness is an important factor influencing user acceptance and usage behavior of information technologies. However, very little research has been conducted to understand how that perception forms and changes over time. The current work presents and tests the determinants of perceived usefulness. The present study found that higher internet job-seeking efficacy is an important concept which is significantly related to job-seeking activities by positively influencing intention and performance as well as usefulness on the Internet.

  • In the area of new millennium of twenty first century, one of the urgent and critical research issues in commerce area is the regenerating of new business opportunities from the high value added perspectives. With this motivation, in this paper, we create new on-line e-businesses with the speed of lightning their affiliated supply, finance and business communities - which are involved in more and more tightly connected, open trading - we find that we need to deal with hundreds of business collaborative partners, millions of buyers and sellers while we have to face incompatible IT systems. Challenges of new business opportunities linking multi-enterprise data and processes cost effectively, reliably and securely in real time remains an open area in e-business. This challenge we shall describe as the problem of synchronization of multiple enterprise collaborative e-business opportunities (production related), value (finance related), business (operations related) in new business opportunity and infrastructure integrated all together over the off-line and online basis. It brings a new e-commerce opportunities infrastructure into this profitable challenge: by extracting and tracking new business information, new trends in the events of e-business processes. The transformation of the traditional commerce into this type of electronic based commerce can be interpreted as new Cultural Revolution. The revolution will be a new paradigm crossing over the geographical, and organizational zone, restructuring enterprise business process infrastructure.

A Multidisciplinary Research Framework for Green Car Industry (그린카 산업의 학제적 분석 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Climate change and low-carbon consumer movement is demanding proper response around the world while rising oil price increases consumers' needs for green car. As a preliminary study to establish an industrial platform for green car and bring out corporate strategies, this article aims to propose an academic research framework by using various methodologies including conceptual/mathematical modeling, system dynamics, and ABM from different angles. First, an analysis framework for the industrial platform was introduced to analyze green car cases, required elements were proposed, and econometrics was applied to build a basic model related to green platform (two-sided market). Also, to analyze from a dynamic perspective, a system dynamics model was applied to green car environment to build a system dynamics analysis model that is applicable to particular green car industry analysis. Lastly, an agent based model was used to study the way to activate the hybrid car market in Korea from individual consumers' perspective. Based on the result, vehicle policies that are either being enforced or planned to be enforced in the Korean HEV market can be analyzed.

The nature of practical problem focused Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum (실천적 문제 중심 가정과 교육과정의 이해)

  • The national level curriculum revision is underway in Korea. A proposed model of family and consumer sciences curriculum was proposed for a public hearing, which was held in December 15, 2005. In the model curriculum, practical problem focused curriculum development approach is partially adopted. However, there is lack of understanding for the practical problem focused curriculum, therefore correct understanding of it is needed. This study tried to promote understanding of the nature of perennial practical problem that FCS deals with and of a conceptual framework of practical problem focused curriculum development. Seven competing topics related with practical problem focused curriculum are discussed for resolving misunderstandings and prejudice on it. From the discussion, it is concluded that practical problem focused curriculum is meeting the needs of students' present and future individual and family life.

  • The life of man is being changed with the changes of the times. The man struggles to enjoy the blessing of peace and lives as a member of a nation. So he has the national characteristics. In that national characteristics is the national emotion. From the emotion the national poetry is created. The poetry has the conventional form. This form is regarded as Sijo(時調). The Sijo was prescribed as the organization three sections. But this prescription is false. This form is the organization of five sections. When the false prescription is corrected, we have our conventional poetry form and create our own poems.
