OFDM Frequency Offset Estimation Schemes Robust to the Non-Gaussian Noise (비정규 잡음에 강인한 OFDM 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose robust estimators for the frequency offset of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing in non-Gaussian noise environments. We first propose a maximum-likelihood (ML) estimator in non-Gaussian noise modeled as a complex isotropic Cauchy process, and then, we present a simpler suboptimal estimator based on the ML estimator. From numerical results, it is demonstrated that the proposed estimators not only outperform the conventional estimators, but also have a robustness in non-Gaussian noise environments.

Angle Invariant and Noise Robust Barcode Detection System (기울기와 노이즈에 강인한 바코드 검출 시스템)

  • The barcode area extraction from images has been extensively studied, and existing methods exploit frequency characteristics or depend on the Hough transform (HT). However, the slantedness of the images and noise affects the performance of these approaches. Moreover, it is difficult to deal with the case where an image contains multiple barcodes. We therefore propose a barcode detection algorithm that is robust under such unfavorable conditions. The pre-processing step implements a probabilistic Hough transform to determine the areas that contain barcodes with a high probability, regardless of the slantedness, noise, and the number of instances. Then, a frequency component analysis extracts the barcodes. We successfully implemented the proposed system and performed a series of barcode extraction tests.

  • 하지 웨어러블 로봇의 근력 보조 성능을 극대화하기 위해서는 착용자의 보행 상태를 인식하는 보행 위상 추정 기술이 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 착용자의 보행 속도 변화 및 착용자 간 보행 특성 차이에도 강인하게 보행 위상을 추정할 수 있는 LSTM 기반 보행 위상 강건 인식 기술을 개발하였다. 웨어러블 고관절 보조 로봇을 착용한 총 5명의 트레드밀 및 실외 overground의 보행 센서 정보를 바탕으로 학습을 수행하였다. 저속 및 고속 보행을 포함한 다양한 보행 속도에서 정밀한 보행 위상 추정이 가능한 웨어러블 센서 조합을 도출하였고, 보행 위상 인식 정밀성은 5-Fold Cross Validation 기준 RMSE 약 1.68% 수준의 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Performance Analysis of Correntropy-Based Blind Algorithms Robust to Impulsive Noise (충격성 잡음에 강인한 코렌트로피 기반 블라인드 알고리듬의 성능분석)

  • In blind signal processing in impulsive noise environment the maximum cross-correntropy (MCC) algorithm shows superior performance compared to MSE-based algorithms. But optimum weight conditions of MCC algorithm and its properties related with robustness to impulsive noise have not been studied sufficiently. In this paper, through the analysis of the behavior of its optimum weight and the relationship with the MSE-based LMS algorithm, it is shown that the optimum weight of MCC and MSE-based LMS have an equal solution. Also the factor that keeps optimum weight of MCC undisturbed and stable under impulsive noise is proven to be the magnitude controlled input through simulation.

  • EKF has been widely used for GPS/INS integration as standard method but EKF has one well-known drawback. if the errors are not within the bounded region, the filter may be divergent. The particle filter has the advantage of the nonlinear and non-gaussian system. This paper proposes a method for compensating the GPS position errors based on the particle filter and presents loosely-coupled GPS/INS integration using proposed algorithm. We used GPS position pattern with particle filter and added attitude kalman filter for improving attitude accuracy. To verify the performance, the proposed method is compared with high cost GPS as reference. In the experimental result, we verified that the accuracy and robust were well improved by the proposed method filter effectively and robustness than by original loosely-coupled integration when vehicle turns at corner.

  • We proposed a robust body part tracking system for intelligent environment that will not limit freedom of users. Unlike any previous gesture recognizer, we upgraded the generality of the system by creating the ability the ability to recognize details, such as, the ability to detect the difference between long sleeves and short sleeves. For the precise each body part tracking, we obtained the image of hands, head, and feet separately from a single camera, and when detecting each body part, we separately chose the appropriate feature for certain parts. Using a calibrated camera, we transferred 2D detected body parts into the 3D posture. In the experimentation, this system showed advanced hand tracking performance in real time(50fps).

  • This paper deals with data association using 3 sets of passive linear array sonars (PUS) geometrically positioned in a Y-shaped configuration, but fixed in an underwater environment. The data association problem is directly transformed into a 3-D assignment problem, which is known to be NP-hard. For generic passive sensors, it can be sotted using conventional algorithms, while it in PLAS becomes a formidable task due to the presence of bearing ambiguity. In particular, we proposed data association method robust to bearing measurements errors by incorporating frequency information and analyze a region of ghost problem by geometrical relation PUS and target. We analyzed the effectiveness of the proposed method by representative simulation in multi-target.

Hybrid census transform considering gaussian noise and computational complexity (가우시안 잡음과 계산량을 고려한 하이브리드 센서스 변환)

  • Census transform is one of the stereo vision methods which is robust to radiometric distortion and illuminance change. This paper proposes a hybrid census transform using the mini census transform and the generalized census transform concurrently. This method uses simplicity of mini census transform and noise feature of generalized census transform together. This paper performed stereo matching containing post processing to evaluate each methods. The result shows that hybrid census transform has similar performance to generalized census transform and mean value of calculation complexity between mini census transform and generalized census transform.

  • 자동음성인식 시스템을 이용하는 사용자 입장에서 보면 음성인식시스템을 사용하기 위하여 음성을 입력할 때마다 버튼을 눌러야 하는 Push-To-Talk (PTT) 방식은 여간 번거로운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 그리고 사용자가 원거리에서 음성을 입력하는 경우처럼 PTT 방식 자체가 용이하지 못 한 음성인식 응용분야에서는 Non-Push-To-Talk (NON-PTT) 방식의 필요성이 대두되게 된다. NON-PTT 방식의 음성 전처리를 위해서는 입력신호로부터 음성신호만을 구분해내는 음성판별기술이 필수적이다. 하지만 일상적인 잡음환경에서 음성신호만을 구분해내는 일은 매우 어려운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 일상적인 가정잡음환경에 강인한 음성판별방식을 제안한다. 여기서는 음성판별을 위해서 음성의 유성음 특성을 이용하였다. 즉, 일정구간 이상의 음성신호에는 일정구간이상의 유성음 구간이 존재하며 만약 잡음환경에서도 유성음 구간을 잘 검출할 수 있다면 이러한 음성의 특성을 이용하여 검출된 신호가 음성인지 아닌지를 판별할 수 있다. 이를 위하여 여기서는 가정잡음환경에서도 유성음을 잘 검출할 수 있도록 11 가지 유성음 특징들과 이를 이용한 음성판별방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법의 성능 평가를 위하여 음성의 끝점검출방법과 통합하여 음성/비음성 판별 테스트를 수행하였으며 테스트 수행결과 열악한 잡음환경에서 80%이상의 비음성을 거절하는 성능을 보였다.

  • This paper describes a sensorless control scheme for brushless dc motors(BLDCMs) using a phase shifter(FIPS) which can shift the zero-crossing point of the input signal with a specified amount of phase. The detection performance of the proposed FIPS is independent of the frequency of the input signal and quite robust with respect to the measurement noise. It is shown that the proposed sensorless control scheme using the FIPS is more effective in the respects of noise-robustness and cost than the previously known schemes. The generality and practicality of the proposed sensorless control scheme is demonstrated through performance analysis and experiments under various operating conditions.
