Job Satisfaction, Job Stress, Burnout, and Turnover Intention of Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward Nurses and General Ward Nurses (간호·간병통합서비스병동 간호사와 일반병동 간호사의 직무만족, 직무스트레스, 직무소진 및 이직의도)

  • This study was carried out to analyze and compare job satisfaction, job stress, burnout, and turnover intention of comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses and general ward nurses. The participants were 181 nurses from six hospitals providing comprehensive nursing care service in G metropolitan city. The data were collected using structured questionnaires in May 16-June 30, 2017. The data were analyzed with SPSS program, which was used for t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. As a result, there were no significant differences in the variables between comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses and general ward nurses. However, comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses had higher job satisfaction, lower job stress, lower burnout, and lower turnover intention than general ward nurses. There was a significant relationship between job stress (r=.39, p=<.001), burnout (r=.43, p=<.001), job satisfaction (r=-.66, p=<.001), and turnover intention. Comprehensive nursing care service ward nurses were more positive about their nursing work than general ward nurses. The findings of this study can be used as basic data for effective nursing resource management in a comprehensive nursing care service ward.

The effects of Emotional Labor, Resilience, and Nursing Work Environment on Turnover Intentions of Comprehensive Nursing Care Medical Service Nurses (간호간병통합서비스병동 간호사의 감정노동, 회복탄력성, 간호근무환경이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of emotional labor, resilience, nursing work environment on turnover intentions of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses. The data were collected from 186 subjects using a structured self-report questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS WIN Version 22.0. The mean score of emotional labor, resilience, nursing work environment, and turnover intentions were 3.66, 3.52, 2.62, and 3.82. Turnover intentions had significant correlation with emotional labor, resilience and nursing work environment. The influencing factors on turnover intentions were sex, emotional labor, resilience and nursing work environment of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses. These result indicates that in order to reduce the turnover intentions of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses, it is necessary to develop and apply an intervention programs considering sex, emotional labor, resilience, and nursing work environment.

  • The aim of this study was to compare perception between patient and nurse on comprehensive nursing care service using SERVQUAL model. To accomplish this goal, the 5 gaps of expectation-perception on comprehensive nursing care service was analyzed. The subjects were 192 nurses and 321 patients who admitted in comprehensive nursing care service wards. As results, patient's satisfaction was higher than patient's expectation and also nurse's performance. Therefore, we found that comprehensive nursing care service would contribute to perform holistic nursing care services in the future. To develop comprehensive nursing care service system sustainably, it needs continuous measurement of patient's expectation and satisfaction using conceptual model of this study.

Job stress and job satisfaction of the nurses in comprehensive nursing service units and the nurses in general units (간호간병통합서비스병동 간호사와 일반병동 간호사의 직무스트레스와 직무만족)

  • This study was conducted to compare and analyze occupational stress and satisfaction levels of the nurses in two different units to provide data for effective nursing resource management. Survey was conducted in four hospitals in June 2019 and data was obtained from 62 nurses in comprehensive nursing service units (CNSU) and 62 nurses in general units (GU). CNSU nurses had higher level of job satisfaction than GU nurses. Contributing factors included pay, professional status, administration, autonomy, task requirements, and interaction. Job stress level was not significantly different between groups. GU nurses had higher stress levels from nursing practice, conflict with doctors, and patients and caregivers, while CNSU nurses had higher stress levels in working condition. Negative correlation was found between job satisfaction and stress in GU nurses, whereas not in CNSU nurses. Clear definition of task, smaller work load, appropriate reward, and educational support is suggested to enhance job satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare job satisfaction, job stress, and nursing task performance for nursing and nursing integrated service wards and general ward nurses to provide basic data for efficient nursing manpower management in nursing and nursing integrated service wards. For comparative research. The subjects were 136 nurses in the nursing and nursing integrated service ward and general ward nurses at a general hospital in D metropolitan area. There was no significant difference between the groups in the job satisfaction, job stress, and nursing task performance of the nursing and nursing integrated service ward nurses and general ward nurses. The performance was high. Factors influencing the performance of nursing tasks were job satisfaction and job stress, with 20.6% of nurses in nursing and nursing integrated service wards and 47.5% of nurses in general wards. Therefore, there is a need for support to improve the ability to perform nursing tasks that can increase job satisfaction and maintain job stress.

  • This study was conducted in order to compare the degree of job stress, emotional labor, role conflict, and organizational commitment among 135 nurses working in comprehensive nursing care wards of tertiary hospitals and medium-sized hospital. The average of job stress of tertiary hospitals was 1.93 points, that of medium hospitals was 2.08 points, emotional labor 3.30, 3.04, role conflict 2.54, 2.79, organizational commitment 3.07, 2.99, respectively. Job stress and role conflict were higher in comprehensive nursing care wards of medium-sized hospitals than tertiary hospitals. This study provides foundational information for developing a program to decrease the job stress and role conflict in comprehensive nursing care wards of medium-sized hospitals.

A Comparative Study on the Job Satisfaction, Nursing Professionalism and Nursing Work Environment of Nurses in Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Wards and Nurses in General Wards (간호·간병통합서비스병동과 일반병동 간호사의 직무만족, 간호전문직관, 간호근무환경 비교)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the Job Satisfaction, Nursing Professionalism, and Nursing Work Environment of Comprehensive Nursing Care Ward nurses and General Ward nurses and provide a convergent basic data. The participants of this study were clinical nurses in the Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces in May 1st.~July 30th., 2016. The data was analysed using SPSS WIN 23.0. When comparing General Ward 100 nurses and Comprehensive Nursing Care Ward 92 nurses, the Nursing Work Environment levels (t=3.027, p=.003) and Job Satisfaction levels (t=2.451, p=.015) were higher in General Wards. Among the General Ward nurses, higher Nursing Professionalism levels had positive correlations to Job Satisfaction levels(r=.605, p<.001). Among the Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Ward nurses, higher Nursing Professionalism levels also had positive correlations to Job Satisfaction levels(r=.642, p<.001). In conclusion, a strategy for the establishment of Nursing Work Environment and Nursing Professionalism is necessary in order to guarantee a higher quality of comprehensive nursing care service.

  • This is a descriptive study to investigate influencing factors of job satisfaction among nurses of comprehensive nursing care ward. The participants were 114 nurses working in comprehensive nursing care ward. Collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that professional self-concept and teamwork were influencing factors of job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve job satisfaction of nurses in comprehensive nursing care ward, education and policy support to improve professional self-concept and teamwork. are needed.

A Comparative study on Perceived Importance and Frequency of Basic Nursing Performance ability of Comprehensive Nursing Care Service Wards versus General Wards (간호·간병 통합서비스 병동과 일반병동 간호사의 기본간호술 수행 빈도 및 중요성 인식 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the frequency and importance of basic nursing practice between comprehensive nursing care service wards and general wards and to provide basic data for the efficient of services. The subjects of this study were 99 comprehensive nursing care service and 90 general wards. Data were collected from February 1 to 28, 2018 and analyzed using a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Scheffe test. The results showed that the frequency of basic nursing practice was higher by 2.43, and there were significant differences in personal hygiene, nutrition and excretion, exercise & activity. The recognition of the importance of basic nursing was high in both groups, but comprehensive nursing care service wards were slightly higher at 4.24 points. However, as the frequency of practice is lower than the recognition of the importance of basic nursing, a method to increase the frequency of practice is necessary. These results suggest that comprehensive nursing care service wards should provide appropriate nursing staff and system development so the nurses can provide care service as professionals.

A Comparison of Factors Affecting Hospital Revisit Intention in Comprehensive Nursing Care Unit and General Care Unit (간호·간병통합서비스병동과 일반병동환자의 병원재이용의사 영향요인 비교)

  • This study compared nursing service satisfaction and revisit intention of comprehensive nursing care unit and general care unit patients and confirmed the impact of nursing service satisfaction on revisit intention. We used data from 201 survey questionnaires collected from four general hospitals located in B-metropolitan area. Data were collected from Jun 1 to 30, 2019. The data were analyzed using x2-test, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression. The results show that nursing service satisfaction was significantly higher in patients admitted to the comprehensive nursing care unit than in the general care unit. There was a significant correlation in increased nursing service satisfaction being associated with increased revisit intention. Among subcategories of nursing service satisfaction, Empathy and Tangibles were cited by 56% of the comprehensive nursing care unit and 40% of the general care unit. As a result of this study, it is necessary to prepare a nursing system that can continuously monitor nursing service satisfaction in order to increase hospital revisit intention and expand the implementation of a comprehensive nursing care unit system.
