  • Dryers becoming commercially available for experimental and industrial use are classified to general drying oven, hot-air dryer, vacuum dryer, freezing dryer, etc. and kinds of them are various from the function, size and volume, etc. But the moisture measurement is not applied although it is important factor for the quality control and the performance improvement of products, and then now is very passive because the weight is weighed arbitrarily after dry-end. Generally the method for measuring moisture is divided by a direct measurement method and a indirect measurement method, and the former such as the change of weight or volume on the front and rear of separation of moisture, etc. is mainly used. Relatively a indirect measurement is very limited to apply due to utilize measurement apparatuses using temperature conductivity and micro-wave etc. In this research, we easily designed the moisture measurement system using the open-source based Arduino, and monitored moisture fluctuations and weight profiles in the real-time without the effect of external environment. Concretely the temperature-humidity and load cell sensors were packaged into a drying oven and the various change values were measured, and their sensors capable to operate 60℃ and 80℃ were selected to suitable for the moisture sensitive materials and the food dry. And also the performance safety using the organic samples of banana, pear, sawdust could be secured because the changes of evaporation rate as the dry time and temperature, and the measurement values of load cell appeared stable response characteristics through repeated experiments. Hereafter we judge that the reliability can be improved increasingly through the expansion of temperature-humidity range and the comparative analysis with CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) program.

  • 천연의 메탄 하이드레이트를 생산하기 위한 방법으로는 크게 다음의 세 가지가 알려져 있다; 감압법, 열 자극법, 저해제 주입법. 갑압법이 가장 경제성이 높은 방법으로 보고 있으며, 이를 활용한 개발생산 시에는 해리 이후의 잔류 물에서 하이드레이트 전구체라고 알려진 하이드레이트 구조가 남아 있으며 이는 생산된 메탄 가스의 이송 과정에서 하이드레이트 재생성의 위험을 높이게 된다. 하이드레이트 재생성을 방지할 수 있는 한 가지 수단으로는 억제제를 주입하는 방법이 가능한데, 적절한 양을 주입함으로써 생산의 경제성을 높일 수 있다. 최근 들어 kinetic 억제제의 적용이 인기를 얻고 있는 바, 수용성 고분자인 이들 억제제를 적용하여 초기 하이드레이트 핵 생성을 지연시킬 수 있다. 이들 kinetic 억제제를 메탄 하이드레이트 생산 과정에서 투여하는 방법을 실험적으로 측정해 보았고, 잔류의 하이드레이트 구조에 대한 존재여부에 대하여 간접적으로 증명해보고자 하였다. kinetic 억제제로는 Poly Vinyl Caprolactam (PVCap)을 선택하였다. 해리압력, PVCap 주입 농도에 변화를 주면서 메탄 하이드레이트 생산, 수송과정에서 발생할 수 있는 하이드레이트 재생성 억제에 대한 효과를 실험적으로 측정하였다.

Setting Time Evaluation of Concrete Using Electrical Resistivity Measurement (전기비저항 측정을 이용한 콘크리트 응결시점 평가)

  • Setting time of cement-based materials can represent a developing strength in early-age mixture, and it can be used a significant parameter of high-performance concrete having various mix-proportions. Generally, initial and final setting time of concrete is measured by penetration resistance method that used a wet-sieving mortar mixture, therefore, it hardly represents the setting time of sound concrete including coarse aggregate. Recently, several nondestructive methods, such as ultrasonic velocity and impendence measurement, are proposed to evaluate the setting time of fresh concrete. This study attempts to measure an electrical resistivity using four-electrode method for evaluation of setting time in early-age cement-based materials. For this purpose, total 10 mixtures are prepared as different mix-proportions including chemical admixture. Based on the experimental results, two electrical parameters, such as initial electrical resistivity and rising time, are proposed to reflect a microstructure development by hydration of cement-based materials. As a result, proposed parameter is also discussed with the measured setting time by penetration resistance method.

Effect of shell thickness on fracture strength of single implant provisional crowns fabricated by indirect-direct technique using 3D printing (3D 프린팅을 이용해 간접-직접법으로 제작한 단일 임플란트 임시관의 파절강도에 대한 쉘(shell) 두께의 영향)

  • Purpose. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of shell thickness on the fracture strength of provisional crowns fabricated by indirect-direct technique. Materials and methods. The study simulated the application of a provisional crown on a maxillary first molar implant abutment. A titanium metal die was milled by replicating a ready-made implant abutment. Using CAD software, shells for provisional crown was designed with varying thicknesses of 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm with different internal spaces for relining. These shells were 3D printed using photosensitive liquid resin and relined with PMMA resin to fabricate provisional crown specimens using indirect-direct technique. Ten specimens per each group were prepared. Fracture strength was measured by applying compressive loads vertically to the occlusal center of the specimens at a crosshead speed of 1.0 mm/min using a universal testing machine, and the maximum load value (N) at fracture was recorded. To compare the fracture strength between experimental groups, a one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's post hoc test was conducted (α=.05). Results. The fracture strength was observed in the following order: Group 1.5 (1504.5 ± 141.30 N), Group 1.0 (1420.2 ± 182.05 N), and Group 0.5 (1083.1 ± 178.90 N). Group 1.5 was not significantly different from group 1.0, but was significantly different from group 0.5, and group 1.0 was also significantly different from group 0.5. Conclusion. The fracture strength of provisional crowns fabricated by the indirect-direct techniques were significantly different depending on the thickness of the shell. The fracture strength of the indirect-direct method was significantly lower when the shell thickness was 0.5 mm compared to 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm. This finding indicates that the shell should not be too thin when fabricating provisional crowns using the indirect-direct technique.

MEASUREMENT OF PULPAL BLOOD FLOW USING A LASER DOPPLER FLOWMETER (Laser Doppler flowmeter를 이용한 치수혈류 측정)

  • Blood supply rather than nerve supply implies pulp vitality. To evaluate pulp vitality clinically, electric pulp test and thermal test which are based on sensory nerve response have been used in addition to many auxiliary data such as past dental history, visual inspection, radiographic examination, percussion, palpation and transillumination test. However, reactivity of the nerves to the stimulation is not synonymous with normalcy. Therefore measurement of pulpal blood flow using a laser Doppler flowmeter became a new trial to test the pulp vitality. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate normal pulpal blood flow level of maxillary teeth in adult to provide a guideline in determining the vitality of dental pulp. Pulpal blood flow was measured in maxillary central and lateral incisors, canines, first and second premolars and first molars of seventy nine adults of 22 - 30 years old using a laser Doppler flowmeter (PeriFlux 4001, Perimed Co., Stockholm, Sweden, 780 nm infrared laser, 1mW). For directly-made splints, silicone rubber impressions were taken directly from the mouth. For indirectly-made splints, alginate impressions were taken from the mouth and stone cast were made. After making depressions on the buccal surfaces of the cast teeth to indicate the hole positions, second impressions with vinyl polysyloxane putty were taken from the cast. Holes for the laser probes were made at the putty impressions 4mm above the gingival level. Laser probe (PF416 dental probe, 1.5mm) was inserted in the prepared hole and the splint was set in the mouth. After 10 minutes of patient relaxing, pulpal blood flow was recorded for 5 minutes on each tooth. The recorded flow was saved in the computer and calculated with a software 'Perisoft' version 5.1. Pulpal blood flow was also recorded in six teeth of five individuals with no response to electric pulp test and cold test, with periapical radiolucency, or with history of root canal treatment to compare with nonvital teeth. The difference between the mean flow values of each group of teeth were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range test. The results were as follows: 1. The average pulpal blood flow values of all the tested teeth of each location were between 9 - 16 Perfusion Unit. Pulpal blood flow value was highest in maxillary lateral incisors, followed by first premolars, second premolars, canines, central incisors, and then first molars (p<0.01). 2. In six anterior teeth, indirectly-made splint group showed higher pulpal blood flow values than directly-made splint group (p<0.01). In posterior teeth, however, there was no significant flow value difference between directly-made splint group and indirectly-made splint one (p>0.05). 3. Teeth with vital pulps showed higher signal values than teeth with nonvital pulps (p<0.01), and the flow photographs showed heartbeat-synchronous fluctuations and vasomotions, while those were absent in non vital tooth.

  • 슈퍼커패시터의 성능을 시험하기 위해 필요한 기존의 실험방법들에는 충방전을 통한 커패시턴스의 측정, AC 임피던스 법에 의한 등가직렬저항(ESR)의 측정 및 자연방전의 측정 등이 포함되는데, 이러한 방법들은 번거롭고 많은 시간을 소요하므로 대량 생산되는 슈퍼커패시터의 모든 셀의 특성을 파악하는데 사용하기는 곤란하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법에 의해 슈퍼커패시터의 등가 임피던스 모델의 파라미터를 추출하고 이를 이용하여 슈퍼커패시터의 제반 특성들을 간접적으로 파악함으로써, 번거로운 여러 가지 실험 없이 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법만으로 슈퍼커패시터의 성능을 판별할 수 있는 새로운 방식을 제안한다.

피로균열진전거동 평가를 위한 균열길이 측정법 - 직류전위차법

  • 철강구조물 부재 내에 노치나 균열이 존재할 수 있고, 외부의 피로하중에 의하여 취약부에서 발생한 균열이 진전하여 전구조물의 최종파손을 야기시킬 수 있다. 부재를 보다 안전하게 사용하고 또한 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해서는 이미 손상된 부재에서 균열의 진전상태를 계측할 수 있는 방법이 확립되어져야 하고, 파괴역학적 파라미터를 이용한 사용재의 균열진전거동특성이 평가되어야 한다. 균열길이의 측정방법은 지금까지 많은 연구자들에 의하여 개발되어져 왔는데 크게 광학현미경을 이용하여 육안으로 직접 균열길이를 측정하는 방법과 컴플라이언스, 초음파, AE 또는 전기적 신호를 통하여 얻어진 결괄부터 균열길이로 환산하는 간접적인 방법으로 대별된다. 대부분의 균열길이의 측정방법은 많은 수작업이 요구되고, 특히 하한계응력확대계수영역의 미세한 균열진전량을 측정하기에는 어려움이 따르고 있다. 이에 대하여 전도체 시험편에 일정전류를 흐르게 하고 균열길이의 증가에 따라 변화하는 전위차로 이를 균열길이로 평가하는 전기적인 측정방법이 있다. 이 방법은 실험장치가 비교적 간단하고 미세한 균열길이의 측정이 용이하여 균열길이의 직접적인 측정이 곤란한 고온역 그리고 충격하중하에서의 균열길이 측정에 이용이 확대되고 있다. 이 글에서는 여러 균열길이 측정방법의 장.단점에 대하여 고찰하고, 그 중 많은 장점을 갖고 있는 직류전위차법의 실험방법을 소개한다.

Product Placement for Broadcasting Advertising Industry Revitalization (방송광고산업 활성화를 위한 간접광고)

  • Since the revised enforcement ordinance of the broadcasting legislation, Product Placement that was introduced in May, 2010 has expanded the stable income of broadcasting contents and broadcasting advertising industry, and improved the quality of the broadcasting contents and its service. However, as a result of Product Placement enforcement for the past 3 months, it reveals many problems, and is blamed for being unable to meet the intent of the law. Accordingly, Product Placement is not established properly. Thus, it is required to improve the detailed action plan for revitalization of Broadcasting Contents and Broadcasting Advertising Industry as originally intended. For example, the outsourcing production company involved in producing programs like dramas and the broadcaster have failed to reach negotiation on distributing proportion and it is keenly in need of its related study. This study is to cover the current status and the problems of introducing Product Placement, and is expected to provide the policy implications and the practical lessons. However, it displays limits that it ends in exploring and policy debate. It is henceforth expected to continue various studies of measuring the effectiveness, strategy, creative, and so forth based on discussion of introducing Product Placement.

Density Measurement for Continuous Flow Segment Using Two Point Detectors (두 개의 지점 검지기를 이용한 연속류 구간의 밀도측정 방안)

  • Density is the most important congestion indicator among the three fundamental flow variables, flow, speed and density. Measuring density in the field has two different ways, direct and indirect. Taking photos with wide views is one of direct ways, which is not widely used because of its cost and lacking of proper positions. Another direct density measuring method using two spot detectors has been introduced with the concept of instantaneous density, average density and measurement interval. The relationship between accuracy and measurement interval has been investigated using the simulation data produced by Paramics API function. Finally, density measurement algorithm has been suggested including exponential smoothing for device development.
